Thank you for the clarity, and you are right, I'm glad I bought them. For the price I paid for all of them I might have been able to get two Snap On ones !! Appreciate the comment and hope you are enjoying your weekend : )
Malco closed the factory and stopped making the locking pliers. Snap-on bought that part of the business. The Snap-on pliers look exactly the same as the Malco.
Great up load! stumbled across video, noticed you spoke of vw which i know nothing of, have a family member wanting me to do some work on an old school bug and a new one, i mainly do GM, my question is since i have know triple squares was wandering if you knew main sizes of what vw uses, since i dont normally work on german/european cars i was thinking i didnt want to spend the big bucks with snappy set, thought maybe just order couple ones would need. Great tour! thanks again
Hey there and thanks for the comment. Depending on what you are doing, 8,10 and 12mm. 14mm is the size you see on many front suspension bolts. Also the front axle nuts are 30mm 12 point I believe. If you are working on newer VW's many of the bolts are torque to yield which means you have to replace them so it gets expensive.
@@davidsizemore9640 Anytime and for the Bug suspension I think its pretty much all 6 point. The other thing to consider is these cars are old so someone may may been in there already and you may not come by any 12 point. I know for the CV axels many of the 12 points are changed out to 6 point. Some do visa versa and change back, as everyone has their own preference.
Great collection of tools. I love seeing an actual tool selection that gets used. You probably already know this but storing supplies such as your selections of cotter pins in a cabinet of someplace other than your actual toolbox would free up a lot of valuable tool storage real estate. I only keep tools in the toolbox and all support tools and supplies are stored in either overhead cabinets, or other areas of the shop in common storage areas that are easily and quickly accessible. I have the same radiator hose selection and have also found that I seldom use the longer hose picks, I generally use the three shorter versions. Also, like you, I love my Snap-on cotter pin tool and use it a lot. So much in fact I have a several of them. I bought a second one to have while one was being warranted about 10 years ago as I couldn't be without it and then I purchased one with the Instinct handle to match my screwdrivers a few years ago. I use them that much. New subscriber here as I just ran across your channel. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos. Mike
Thank you for the great reply and welcome aboard. If you saw that silver cabinet to the side (Has VW tools in the top) but in the bottom there is a whole section of oil filter I have accumulated over the years. Well those are going to be moved out and the plastic boxes you saw with cotter pins, clips etc. are going in the there so I'm on it brother !! I'm glad you like that cotter pin tool, I love mine and its one of my favorite tools, Its got the perfect bends in it. You will see my channel is a blend of tool stuff, some product reviews (mostly scanners as I seem to do good with the views) and auto repairs. Happy Saturday to you : )
I have a pair of those Craftsman black handled standard pliers. Bought them like 40 years ago with a gift certificate my grandmother gave me. To this day they are the only set of standard pliers I own. Excellent quality and of course great sentimental value.
I find that JIS works better on both on Phillips as well. Love the Vessel drivers. If you like those blue handled ones, you'll love the red handled version. Same handle design, but they have a strikable cap, a bolster for a wrench, and a gripping function (JawsFit) on the business end that really helps to prevent cam out. The perfect screwdriver imho👌 In the plier department, pickup a set of Knipex Twin Grip. Based on those Craftsman you like, I think you'll love the TG's👍Thanks for the tour, nice set up!...I can always spot a fellow Canadian, when ur rockin some Mastercraft lol
Ive the identical toolbox, my top chest doesn't have a lid on the top though. I bought it in 2005 & have zero regrets other than in hindsight not getting the triple bank. I bought matching tool carts over the years for the evergrowing collection. Great videos GK
Thank you and yes you do have a great toolbox !!! I bought a matching cart as well (it fills up fast so I have to keep purging it) Appreciate the comment, and thank you again.
Again, that is a working man’s toolbox in lieu of a Collector’s toolbox. Classic Red box looks great. Thanks for sharing
Thank you good Sir for the comment !! Much appreciated
Right on
Thank you
Nice Good job love you From Dino Mares Fontana CA
Thank you Dino and hope you are having a great weekend
Malco made those for Snap On so they are not imitation Snap On. The Snap On is imitation Malco. Love your videos and great tour.

@@jimb8842 Appreciate the comment and you are right, Snap On was smart to buy part of the business as they are really good pliers.

You know it, mine are really old as well, I bought them from Sears and I really like them, one of my first pliers !!!
Snap on is imitation Malco, not the other way around 👍
Yes you are right, I should have been more clear.
