Smart Guy- absolutely loved this. Still binging this every couple months on D+. I appear to have had the same relationship with you with Disney Channel. The BMW Halloween episode is in heavy rotation every October.

Breaking Bad is by far my favorite show. From beginning to end it’s as close to a perfect show as you can get. The acting, the story, the character development, all gold.
Jesse seems to be a bad actor to me and I don't know anything about film or acting. Really is taking me out of it.
@@oldspicey6001That’s actually beyond perfectly understandable to say, but imho, Aaron Paul’s performance is Jesse is utterly magnificent. If you’ve finished the show, I’d highly recommend watching this video linked here because it explains my praises for his acting much better than I can. However, if you haven’t finished the show, then don’t watch this video because there are big spoilers in it.

I’ve always said the “Boy Meets World” Halloween special is one of the greatest episodes of any other shows Halloween special. It was perfect and full of so many funny moments. I’m so glad you love that to Cody. Not many people remember that one.
That show was great. I see that episode brought up quite a bit, but it had a ton of great episodes and moments. I think I'll go rewatch that episode.

If you haven’t seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I highly suggest it. It’s one of those shows where the first season isn’t great but quickly becomes one of the all time greatest shows. Home Improvement has always been my comfort show.
Banshee was freakin awesome, found it randomly from HBO few years ago and binged it through FAST. One of the best shows ever.
Very underrated kickass show!
Extremely underated. The creator of that went on to make Warrior for Cinemax, which was picked up by HBO along with Banshee when Cinemax dropped original content. Warrior is even better imo, and somehow more underated lol. Anyone who liked banshee should definitly check it out. HBO renewed it for season 3 too.

Breaking bad is an all time favorite of mine, but my absolute favorite that isn't on here is Malcom in the middle. I'm a huge Bryan Cranston fan. Loved your list dude.

Malcolm was the reason I got into Breaking Bad. Hal on the poster, once again in his underwear. Except he has a gun and a mustache. Knew nothing about it but that's what got me to watch the pilot. Cranston fans need to check out MITM. I met Frankie Muniz on the set of Deuces Wild and was a pretty nice guy. I hope he's enjoying life.

The Sopranos is my all time favorite show
Me too, buddy. It took me a second run-through to really come to the realization that I preferred the deep themes and humanity-on-display methods of The Sopranos to the broadness of The Wire and awesomeness of Breaking Bad. They are all in the same ballpark, though, for sure.

And i would put GoT and Lost in my top list also. Sure, not great last seasons but Dexter has 5 weak seasons after season 4.
But good to see Banshee in it👍
How did the Sopranos not make this list? The Wire is far better than The Shield. Better Call Saul is just as good as Braking Bad.

I never see Justified in anybody's top 20 tv shows list. What a bummer. But I'm Super Grateful that you did Cody. Justified is fucking Amazing.
The Shield is so good. The scene where Mackey confess his sins to the agent is so great. And also #justiceforRonnie.
Great video Cody and my number 1 tv show has got to be Bates Motel, the acting in that series is incredible!
Breaking Bad and Bates Motel for sure are my top 2 that I always recommend to people who haven't seen them.

Justified is by far one of my favorite shows of all time, and anytime Timothy Olyphant is on screen in anything, I’m glued. The “next one’s coming faster line” is soooo good 👌👌👌. Great list dude

Definitely recommend Six Feet Under. It's honestly taken my spot for number 1. Micheal C. Hall is also fantastic in it. SFU, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sopranos, and Courage the Cowardly Dog are my favorites.
Damn I love all of those too lol. I would also add Twin Peaks, and Mr Robot to that list.
I watched Six Feet Under last year and The Shield this year. Many people told me Six Feet Under is better than the Shield but to me, it was the opposite. The Shield was way more entertaining and made you want to watch the next episode immediately. SFU was still a good show nonetheless.

My favorite show is definitely Psych by a landslide. I love everything about the show, especially all of the horror themed episodes. I’ve always loved the comedy/detective shows so naturally I have a bias towards the show. One of my other favorites would have to be Peaky Blinders. Steven Knight’s directing style is top 5 for me and the acting talent is God-tier. Awesome video Cody!!
I remember watching psych when it aired and my friends making fun of me but I loved it! It’s getting a great amount of success since streaming too! Plus the movies have been great as well. Yeah man psych was consistently funny for the 8 seasons it made. Plus Shawn and Gus are easily one of the greatest television duos of all time.
Yo you are the man with Supernatural bro!!! So many people disregard it at times cuz they think its a CW chicks kind of show with both the leads but the series itself is so good and trust me even tho it has its bad moments , having finished the series you have so many awesome episodes and seasons to catch up on and especially season 11!!!. Trust me its got plenty left after season 9!!!
I never finished it but season 1 thru 5 are fantastic. That original plot line was so so good. I’m glad I gave it a shot because you are right I did think those things 😂

You think Lucifer and Apocalypse is the end which technically in our world it should be but they are very creative. The brothers aspect and love they have for eachother which also drives the show is insane. So giving you no spoilers i will say yes there are episodes that maybe eh and boring or a season (in my opinion) worse then season 7 may happen but i can promise you this every finale delivers plus you get the music and "Carry On My Wayward Son" everytime that even as a man makes you wanna tear!!!

I was a huge Lost fan I even have the oceanic tattoo. I loved Twin Peaks! Haunting of Hill House is easily in my top 5 as well, and I also never finished supernatural but season 1-5 were fantastic. Plus I can remember watching that Halloween episode of boy meets world on TGIF back when they aired 😂
Supernatural is pretty good until season 8, it’s all downhill from there

Hey, just saw your announcement a few days ago. And happy for you, stressful as this job is and will be, glad you will be able to get up in the morning and be happy to go to work. Good picks, though most are not surprising considering I watched your big blu-ray collection video. Tv shows for me are my favorite so to narrow it down to 10 is tough, but some of my favorites are here.
1. Young Justice: Greg Weisman always does well, in animation and the stories he tells. Especially those first two seasons are so tight, no thread is left hanging. With great character development along the way. Fourth season coming and looking forward to it.
2. Lost: I know people talk about it poorly now, but for me, there are few shows that got me invested in the characters like Lost did. And sure you can have story issues with them, but the show was always about the characters first, and they always did them well to the end.
3. Spartacus: The show where you have to give it a few episodes to get over a rough start, but builds and gets better and better every season. So perfectly done. This was my Game of Thrones when everyone was talking about that show, I would just say have you seen Spartacus? Ended perfectly, something I go back to every year. It's a short and sweet series.
4. Turn: Washington's Spies: Again, another a show no one talks about. But this series on AMC did so well portraying a smaller story of the Revolutionary War and the characters involved. This is truly one of those forgotten gems that should never be. This is the benchmark as far as I'm concerned for how to do period dramas.
5. Everybody Loves Raymond: I'm not big on sitcoms either, but this show is the one that is my comfort show. Just that family dynamic is so well done and real. It has some weaker parts of some seasons, what sitcom doesn't. But it's the only sitcom I can think of that never had a bad season. Saying something.
6. Daredevil: The best Marvel show period. I haven't actually seen much of the other ones, only the first seasons of each. But this really shows why this character is my favorite marvel individual character(X-men are something else). While the second season is the weakest of the three, it ends amazingly with the third one. If they didn't have that last scene at the end, I would say it ended perfectly. But because it was never planned to be the end and the weakness of some of the second season, have to pump it to six. Still great though.
7. Supernatural: I am new to the show as well. But it's one of those shows, it hit me at the right time. I've always been intrigued by the spiritual and mythological elements in anything, so this show was made for me. And while it's serious quite a bit of the time, there's never an episode your going without any laughs. Like the creators said in a commentary, they are glad they never take it completely seriously. This is a personal blend for me that I am happy to keep watching through all fifteen seasons.
8. Lucifer: Again, similar to Supernatural, it's just elements I love exploring. Similar in tone, but just a different beast. It still does thrive on the brotherly relationship, but adds it's own unique flavor to it. While a procedural on the surface, it's so much more than that. Haven't seen all of it yet, but has done well, even through the slog that was season 3.
9. The West Wing: Not interested in political shows, but I always appreciated the optimism this show brought to something is quite the opposite in reality. Not in the way, say a 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' kind of way, there's hints of that, but overall still in a little more reality than that. The acting is some of the best in network television and the fact that it is still celebrated today among all the amazing shows we've had in the last decade and a half, that says something. Now seasons 5 and 6 are fairly weak compared to the rest, but that isn't a serious mark against it, just shows how high the bar was already.
10. Broken: No one will know what I'm talking about, But this BBC series with Sean Bean is a six episode mini-series that is basically showing the life of a Catholic bishop and the way he tries to help his congregates while hating himself for all he's done. The show is beautiful. In a way think of it's a Wonderful Life with a little more edge to it. That blend of optimism against the harshness of reality and self-hate religion can bring. It's just one of the best one and done stories out there.
Once you finish Supernatural, I would love to see Season rankings and some top 10 videos for characters, villains/creatures, and episodes!

I’m so glad you had Fringe in your list. It’s definitely one of my favorite shows. I would also recommend Lost and Battlestar Galáctica. Lost probably didn’t had the best ending but I feel there is never going to be another show like it.

If you’re into comic related stuff, particularly Superman, Smallville is one of my favorites. Definitely had times and seasons when it would drag a bit, but overall, 10 seasons of greatness. Friday Night Lights is great too. Given the name, you would assume that it’s all sports, particularly football, and the movie it’s based on really is. But the show has a much more family values, moral code, knowing right from wrong, etc. aimed message.
And if you’re into cheesy fight scenes/martial arts/old West type stuff… Walker, Texas Ranger is also a pretty good one

Supernatural is amazing, yes even when it's bad it's still good. Mystery Spot and the Scooby Doo episodes are in my top ten episodes of that show, my number one though is probably The French Mistake.
I always thought we had pretty similar tastes but the fact that you had Smart Guy, Boy Meets World, and King of Queens on your list is blowing my mind. Those are 3 random shows I would definitely have in my top 15 too. Not to mention a few obvious ones like Breaking Bad.

If I could only ever convince you to try one show, especially based on your #1 (also mine, hands down), it would be Ozark. Seriously, give it a try. It's a slow burn, but lots of similarities to B.Bad. The story, the tension, the acting, all PHENOMENAL.. Watch the first episode and see if you're not immediately hooked..
Love the fact that we get to see more of you now!! But as our tastes in movies are quite similar our taste is T.V. shows not at all. I'll do my top 5.

And honestly if season 6 of better call Saul is just as good, or even better than season 5 i might consider putting it over Breaking Bad. But I firmly believe Sopranos is king. Without it, television would be much different, and because of it, shows are much more recognized and appreciated.

I love that Supernatural is in your top 5 its my favorite show of all time. I've never seen breaking bad but I might start it tonight to see how I like it. Sons of Anarchy is my 3rd favorite show but my second favorite show is Peaky Blinders there's 5 seasons already and the final season is coming out next year the first 2 episodes are kinda tough to get through but after that its amazing it has Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy and they give amazing performances in this show so if you haven't checked it out I highly recommend it. Also I love Lucifer as well. Loved the video can't wait to see what else you do man.

Great list! You had some of my favorites on there. Have you ever seen True Blood? My top five shows are Nip/Tuck, True Blood, Dexter, Lost, and The Blacklist. Oh and Hannibal was hard to follow the first watch through, but after watching it again I def like it more.
Great list! Also 4 me breaking bad is by far the best TV Show. Almost perfect! King of Queens is one of my favorites. Dexter lacked after season 4, the ending is one of the worst. The shield has a great ending and is all in all a great Show. U gotta watch "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire".

I like your list Cody, it has several that I have been thinking about watching (the shield, justified, dexter, soa) and some that I have also enjoyed (banshee, bb, bmw, stranger things). I think you should watch sopranos and gommorah if you like the mafia genre and you might like dark on netflix. Thanks for all your genuine content.
You have to check out the action drama show 24, Cody. Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer will always be my favorite action character of all time.
I started watching Banshee earlier this week with my mother and grandmother...to anyone reading this..maybe not the best show to watch with your parents lol.

Banshee is my all time favorite. The most underappreciated show of all time.
So my list may be convoluted but I have like almost 30 and will separate into different categories because it felt odd having dark crime dramas ranked with comedys and anime.
Dramas:
10.) The Wire - Top tier cop show. Similar to The Shield.
9.) Dexter - Would be higher if not for later seasons.
8.) Game of Thrones - Same as Dexter
7.) Mad Men
6.) Sopranos - Gets a little silly in the later seasons, but I love the finale atleast.

1.) Twin Peaks - Hands down my favorite show of any genre. Maybe my favorite piece of art from any art form.
Also wanna mention Better Call Saul may crack the top 3 if the final season is as good as the first 5 seasons.

I'm kinda surprised Shameless isn't on the list somewhere. I could've sworn that Cody mentioned it being a top favorite when he ranked all the seasons. Nevertheless, a great list of shows.
Probably because it went so downhill. He did say the same about Dexter, but I think that show was a little more up his alley.
I think male protagonist are more up his alley. Come on, he said Stranger Things is the best thing Netflix has ever done. Makes me wonder if he has ever seen The Crown.

For me it has to be Lost, one of the best pilots/1st season i've ever seen and even though the last few seasons weren't as good still very entertaining and the ending nowhere near as bad as it's reputation would tell you.
Lost? 🤔idk man I think lost is pretty average/below average all around outside of season 1. But you notice the bad writing, plethora of filler episodes, and character inconsistencies starting with season 2. I couldn’t say lost is a good show tbh, but i did enjoy it when I watched m. Breaking Bad is definitely my favorite show of all time as well! I also love Sons of Anarchy and Hannibal! Some of my comfort shows are Drake and Josh and That 70’s show. Robot Chicken is a show I need to watch for a lot of laughs 😂. I need to watch The Shield, Dexter, Banshee, and Justified. I need to catch up on a lot of TV Shows. Love your list Cody!! @Cody Leach Deadwood is on my list. Not sure if you’ve seen it but Timothy Olyphant is great in it. Not a bad episode in those three seasons. I also loved the Shield and started to really like Ronnie a lot and then how it ends for him killed me. That was how invested I was.
For me, it use to be The Sopranos. And then one day I became enlightened and binged The Wire. Without a shadow of a doubt, The Wire is the GOAT tv show. Character development, story arc, minut details. Everything combined, makes it my #1 pretty much forever. My top 5 is The Wire, The Sopranos, Always Sunny, Oz, and probably Saved by the Bell or Viva La Bam
Exactly, I cringed when he trash talked cop shows, the wire has writing on par with breaking bad
@@synthsol5522 i saw a little of BB. I didnt do too much for me tbh, so i cant attest to the actual writing. I just know the Wire without a doubt had the most detail oriented writing and character driven story ever. Everything was important, and no detail was inserted with zero meaning. Like i said, THE GOAT show

I highly recommend Mr. Robot if you haven't seen it. It has what might be my favorite series finale of all time and seems like it could be up your alley.
