Really great review! I‘m considering these and the Prodigy 2.0. I‘m looking for a playful allmountain ski but I‘m afraid the 3.0s will be too broad and heavy to also do quicker turns on groomers. What do you recommend?
Hey guys, huge fan of all the stellar content! I am looking to buy a pair of the Prodigy 2.0 this season to replace my torn up Volkl Revolts. I was extremely comfortable riding on the 181 Revolts (knowing that they ski a bit shorter than that) and was hoping you might have a suggestion for Prodigy length, 177 or 183. Thanks and keep up the amazing work!
@@SkiEssentials does this mean you find the Prodigy to ski a bit shorter than the listed length similar to the revolt? As always much appreciated for the active and thoughtful responses!
Love the content. I’m deciding between the prodigy 3.0’s and manas. As a tall skier that likes to ride aggressive, how would you choose between the two?
Thanks, Lawrence! The Mana felt more sturdy from tip to tail while the Prodigy needed a bit more coaxing to get the same performance. That said, the Prodigy is more playful and easy to smear. Since you're more on the aggressive side, I'd say the Mana makes a bit more sense for you. Have fun! SE
How do these stack up against the dynastar m free 108? I’m skiing in Norway and Austria this season and want something that can handle the Norwegian pow whilst still giving me enough control on packed snow in Austria. Would appreciate your advice! Cheers
I'm a huge fan of that 108. It has a great shape and profile that make it a clean turning ski with a ton of flotation. Nothing bad to say about the Prodigy, rather the M-Free is just that good.
I think an issue with the QST is the sizing. I'm about the same size as Bob and the options with the QST are 181 and 189. I bought the 189 because the 181 skies pretty short with the rocker profile... but the 189 feels too long when you get into the trees or surprise moguls. Wish I'd seen this review before buying the Salomons. They're fantastic skis for sure - but just wish the sizing was more in line with other skis in the category like the Ranger 102 and these Factions.
Got them last year and love them. Great to see you guys review and stock them now :D
It's a cool ski for sure!
Hey, what do you think about their powder Performance?
@@yirequ2150 Not a technical answer but they make me smile in powder :)
Great review. Thanks S.E
Pleeeeease make a Prodigy 2.0 review…. 🤘🏼
I am desperate for a good prodigy 2.0 review I can't find one anywhere. Its either the poachers or prodigy 2.0 for me.
Really great review!

I would say your fears are justified. It's a pretty wide ski, and for most of the time, that's just not necessary. I'd go with the 2.0. have fun!

I agree that the revolt feels a bit short, so I think bumping to the 183 is fine. Have fun!

@@SkiEssentials thanks! do you reckon the 3.0’s at 112 underfoot would be too wide as a daily driver?
@@lawrencesmith6804 112 is quite wide. Daily drivers between 95 and 106 usually.

Are they good in pist ?
Not particularly. They're wide, flexible, and twin-tipped--three things that normally translate to mediocre on-piste performance.
What’s a better all around ski the QST 106 or Prodigy 3.0
I'd say QST is better all-around while Prodigy has more of a twin-tippy feel to it and a freestyle character.

Any difference to the 22 model other than the top sheet?
The Prodigy 3 appears to be the same structural ski as the 22 version.
