I'm currently deciding between the Faction Agent 3.0, which I loved for its light weight when I tested it, and the Faction Prodigy 3.0, Rossignol Sender 110, or Atomic Bent Chetler 110. I'm looking for a ski that's playful yet stable at high speeds, with some park and freeride capability. The Agent 3.0 is stable but not as playful, while the Prodigy 3.0 feels heavier-does that weight negatively affect its playfulness? How do the Sender 110 and Bent Chetler 110 compare in terms of playfulness, stability, and versatility? I want a ski that balances these features well.
Of these skis, the Sender 110 has the highest ceiling and best performance. The bent 110 is a nice mix of floaty and playful attributes, but unless you have a strong carving and racing background, it's not the best on-trail ski nor is it stable. I do think the Prodigy has a lot to offer here, as it has the playful tips and tails for creative skiing and the underfoot zone is sturdy enough for stability and power. Sure there's a bit of weight, but you have to determine a preference, whether it's going to be stable or playful.
Hi guys! Great review as always. I'm looking at the Atris 178 and the Prodigy 3.0 178 as my daily driver. Looking for a versatile ski with some playfulness/Freestyle. I ski lot of tight trees, some refrozen garbage snow, icy slopes, bumps and foot to thigh deep powder - no park. I would call my self an advance skier. I'm 5'8 and 85kg. What do you think?
Atris is a lot more powder and soft snow oriented while the Prodigy has some chops to it that allow it to perform well in adverse conditions and terrain. While it may not be as surfy or smeary as the Atris, it's more durable and stout for mixed use.
Hi ski essentials, i’m trying to find a buttery playful ski that I can send hard into powder, but still take into the park on occasion. I was wondering if you had any suggestions?
This is a good one here, I'd also add the Atomic Bent 110 and the K2 Reckoner 110. Those are a bit lighter so there's a concession to be made for charging, but they do fit well with mixing park, powder, and playfulness.
Hi, I am having a hard time choosing between prodigy 3, prodigy 2 and atomic bent 100. I am advanced ish, light weight and will mostly go off piste and powder, but deep snow is a bit rare here and I like them to be playful and poppy. Would prodigy 3 be too wide for occasional groomers? What are the differences? I currently own some K2 freeride skis with a width of 94
I do think the Prodigy 3 is on the wide side for a ski if you don't ski in powder a lot. I'd narrow focus to the more versatile Prodigy 2 and Bent 100. Of those, the Bent is lighter, more mobile, and more playful while the Faction is denser, smoother, and not quite as energetic. My guess is that the Bent 100 will fit your needs and wants quite well.
Hi ski essentials I have the qst 106 181cm for softer snow and chop charging and as main powder ski and was looking for a more playful and park oriented freeride ski, could this be it? How do they compare regarding on trail performance? Thx!
The Prodigy 3 is certainly a more playful version of the QST 106. I don't find it quite as entertaining or energetic, but if you're looking to be more playful and creative on your skis, it's a great choice. I'd ding the ski about 20% in on-trail performance vs. the QST.
I'd say the Prodigy is the more playful, drifty, and smeary ski of these two while the heftier and more directional QST is down for stronger carved turns with better grip on firmer snow.
I really need your help and guidance. I would like a ski that i can use for powder and park, but most importantly, sturdy enough to handle big speeds. I was thinking of the factions prodigy 3, bent chetler 100s or the line chronic 94s. But if you know any other skis that would suit me well i would really appreciate it if you could tell me about them.
In the mid-90's, I really like the Armada ARV 94 as well. That and the Chronic are 2 great options here as they blend twin tip playfulness with a sturdier underfoot build.
I'ts going to be fine, but the shorter length with the smaller arc will feel like a more engaging ski. The 190 will feel smoother and more stable throughout.
You guys make the absolute best reviews

Hi! Thank you for good review! question: which length would you recommend for for 177 centimeters skier? 40% hard snow 40% out of hardsnow 20% park
I'd go 172 in this ski.
@SkiEssentials thank you!
Where do you recommend to mount this skis, new school or progressive, thanks!
Progressive is a bit more well-rounded, I'd go with that.

Hi I am struggling choosing between prodigy 2/3 and armada arv 100. I am driving 70% park and 30% powder. Which one would you recommend?
If you're in the park a lot, I'd think the Prodigy 2 makes good sense here.
Hey I’m 6’2 would the faction prodigy 3s at 190 cm. Is this way too tall for carving or is the rocker going to make it feel shorter
I'ts going to be fine, but the shorter length with the smaller arc will feel like a more engaging ski. The 190 will feel smoother and more stable throughout.
