I’d add the chocolate chips for a dessert but have them plain for breakfast. I might add some chopped walnuts too. What brand chocolate chips do you like to use?
I had some overripe bananas so I made these today. I used white chocolate chips and added some dried cranberries and a dash of vanilla. They are delicious. Thank you for a good recipe!
Love that there’s no added sugar, the sweetness from ripe bananas is brilliant! Like others I’ve made a variation by adding pecans, cinnamon, vanilla, peanut butter and raisins. ❤
These look so good. You can also “age” bananas by putting them unpeeled in the oven while it warms up. Check them after 5 minutes, you can go by the skin color for if they are ready. Learned this trick because I really like banana bread.
I do this all the time! Such a time saver but i still prefer the taste of naturally aged bananas. Hence I try to buy very ripe bananas in bulk and then freeze them in portions so they just have to be thawed whenever needed for baking.
Wow where has your recipe been all my life!!! I just found this recipe and wowowowow, I made this with what she suggested, mushed bananas, to baby food, and folded quick oats I used till I hand them superiourly blended, then I also added fine chopped almonds, bake for 12 mins, looked at bottom, cooked another 2 mins, then let cool another 2 mins in oven, took them out had a bite of heaven. I love this recipe as I am trying to stay away processed fruit bars or cookies. I plan on adding different, spices and seeds also. Thank you for this it is what I have been looking for!!!!
I was honestly a little doubtful about this recipe. In my head I thought hmm this is probably a waste of time and ingredients.. I mean, it's basically just oats and bananas. With the little faith I had I made the batter and put them in the oven. What came out was a big shock. These. Cookies. Taste. SO GOOD!!! I've almost eaten the whole pan by myself and I'm feeling a food coma coming over me... WOW I am SO happy with how they turned out!!!
I made it today. Simply delicious. Thank you. The mistake I made was leaving cookies on the baking sheets after it was done. So all the cookies get stuck on the paper while they were cooking down, and I had to peel half of them off. But still, very yummy.
I have made this recipe twice in the last two weeks and it is absolutely outstanding. So easy and healthy. And the second batch I added a little more of the spices. Have only used raisins so far but will try chocolate chips and cranberries another time. Love it
Now this is a genius one, isn’t it. I’ve been searching for a cookie recipe that is simple and delicious, and this one is also healthy - checks even more boxes. Can’t wait to make these, and I’ll be trying a bunch of fillings, like dried fruit and nuts. Thank you, Lisa, great to have you back, happy holiday season🎄🥰
I check your videos not only because they are presented so well but also there is something extremely positive about you. Thanks for the delicious cookies. Would love to make them today. ❤️😊
Thanks for sharing. I make a version of this with 2 cups of oats, 1 banana, 1 cup of egg white, 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, and some chocolate chips. So yummy!
I love the simplicity of this recipe and I actually start making it while watching the video. I replaced chocolate chips with dried cranberries with walnuts.
Tried this out after seeing the video. I had a couple of ripe bananas, so a great way to use them. This is a healthy and delicious snack. You delivered another keeper. Thanks Lisa !
When I found this recipe, I want to make it often whenever I have ripe bananas which I don't like to eat by itself because they're too ripe. It's very delicious and healthy. Thanks for sharing!
I made these for breakfast! I skipped the choc chips, but I also added in a tspn of baking soda, along with the cinnamon and vanilla. They were DELISH. Amazing recipe.
Well well! I tried this recipe last night since I had 3 bananas which had too many spots on it and I don't like bananas like that so I wanted something easy to use it with and this popped up. budget is tight so I was not going to throw these away and I made these! OMG! You all have to try it. I added a splash of vanilla, a dash of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. I brought some to work and now others want the recipe. It's very good!
I made these cookies today and they were so quick to make! I added some maple flavored oatmeal to the mixture, and cacao nibs, and they turned out great. Your videos really inspire me to eat better.
Will be making this soon i never had banana oatmeal cookies before i love banana soooooooooo much perfect for my office snacks love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
The way you explain all your recipes is wonderful ...being a vegetarian i like your recipe and looking forward to try your corn salad recipe is yummm and so vibrant....and loved your kitchen ....wishing you all the very best ...love from India 🙏
Not much of a cook but have become an "expert" at grilling fish, chicken and veg (using the humble oven grill) and was looking for something without sugar and eggs that I could maybe grill rather than oven cook. I added olive oil and a very small amount of grated carrots to the mix, as well as rubbing in olive oil to my modified frying pan (removable handle) to stop things sticking. Nine minutes grilling, turn over for two minutes worked out for me, probably more if I wanted to risk breaking my teeth on a crisper version but went down very nicely. The olive oil on the pan meant no sticking, btw. Just used one banana and mixed in the oats until it was similar to your video. There are endless possibilities with regards to ingredients so will play some more.
Once again, Lisa saves the day! 😍 Quick, easy AND healthy? What's not to love 🙏🏼 Thanks Lisa, we appreciate all you do for us! And almost 2 MILLION!? Looking forward to the celebrations! 🥳🌟
I tried this recipe. 😋The cookies turned out almost a chewy texture and they tasted almost like banana bread. I like the idea of adding nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla to them. I think it pairs well with the oats & bananas. Over all, great recipe.
I have 2 ripe bananas that were just waiting for this recipe! Can't wait to bake these tonight for my boys. They look delicious and so easy! I appreciate your videos so much!
I make these almost weekly. I use SEVERAL bananas and I allow them to soften/age much more. I then started playing around with extracts, and you must put these in BEFORE the oatmeal. I have found that I’ve had the best luck (or taste) with a little vanilla, but mostly MAPLE extract. I’ve settled with my favorite add ins being mini semi sweet or dark chocolate chips and cherries 🍒! This makes a much bigger batch, but I don’t always bake them all at one time. They keep in the fridge well and can also be a delicious and healthy “cold treat” in a little 🍲 bowl. Everyone seems to love 💕 these treats.
Oh Lisa, exactly what I've been looking for! I think I'll swap out half the dark chocolate chips with cranberries. It is such a joy to receive your beautiful simple recipes where I don't have to convert to gluten free. Thank you.
Omg genius! I’m definitely going to make the breakfast version of this by subbing chocolate for blueberries or nuts. I’ll also add some cinnamon and vanilla as you suggested! I love make ahead breakfasts!
Wow!!! Can’t wait to try these…so simple and made with pantry items I always have on hand! Plus another way to use bananas when they’re getting a bit too ripe to eat raw. I freeze a lot of bananas so I’m sure this would work with frozen bananas too! Thank you for the delicious recipe ideas🥰
Hi There I know it is a while ago now but did you ever try the cookies with frozen bananas? I did today and the first batch did not work well at all so I upped the oats and added some coconut to try and "dry" it out a bit - just wondering if you had more success?
These are a staple for me now! I have added shredded coconut, hemp seeds, and chia seeds for some of the oats. I've enjoyed them with raisins or dried cherries or cranberries. Adding vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, or whatever you like also gives you variations. These are so easy, filling, and yummy! Thanks!
Just made it today and wow! It’s so delicious. I usually don’t crave desserts but I was today but I wanted something that aligned with my WFPB diet and this really satisfied my sweet tooth. Delicious and healthy 😊
I was able to make the cookies and clean up the ‘mess’ before the oven was preheated! Also, a wet half cup measuring cup worked better than fingers for flattening the cookies.
I can only have grains twice a week so this would be good to make and freeze the cookies so I can thaw them and enjoy the days I have designated for grain. TY!!
I made these (added chopped walnuts) for my vegetarian son, and he absolutely loved them! We all enjoyed them. They are so tasty and nutritious, they are like little energy bites.
After praising this recipe before trying it I am delighted to report I gave made this tonight. It is really simple. Really tasty. Really something I am going to keep on making. Mine were a bit banana tasting but the bananas were very ripe indeed. And who cares. They would have been composted otherwise. Now I have a sweet and healthy breakfast for the next 2 days. (I have eaten quite a lot of what I cooked) Thank you
I'll try these today! I only stock whole rolled oats for simplicity, but make my own oat flour milling them in the food processor, can do this to make smaller pieces of oats for the cookies. Thanks for the recipe!
I love this recipe with bananas. I have seen other recipes that use peanut butter since I want to stay away from them. Thanks for the clarification of what type of oats to use.
Looks fantastic. Of course a minor issue. The link for the scoop offers a group of three. One, two and three tbsp. There isn't a 1 1/2 tablespoon in the group. Can't wait to try the recipe.
Hi friends! Cookies don't get much easier than these, do they? ;) Would you add chocolate chips or something else? Enjoy! xo - Lisa
I was thinking about dark chocolate chips. Or maybe coconut flakes making it kinda tropical lol
I’d add the chocolate chips for a dessert but have them plain for breakfast. I might add some chopped walnuts too. What brand chocolate chips do you like to use?
I make these cookies with gluten free oats, vanilla, ground cinnamon, raisins and or dried cranberries, sugar free chocolate chips
Love raisins so I would add some, but I know people usually dislike raisins...
I had some overripe bananas so I made these today. I used white chocolate chips and added some dried cranberries and a dash of vanilla. They are delicious. Thank you for a good recipe!

Both options sound great for a slight variation 😊
