By the way, this is my favorite episode of One Piece thus far. Not only cause of the production value on it, but also cause this was like the culmination of hundreds and hundreds of episodes building up. One Piece had moments like this before, of course, but this one did it better imo

That flashback sequence is so friggin' HYPE! It montages peaks from like the previous 400 eps and the cool thing is, we as an audience have seen those events, but the one difference in this episode is you get to see all of those events play out from Luffy's POV
The dream Luffy and Roger said is not “to become king of the pirates” Luffys true dream is something else that we still don’t know to this day… becoming pirate king is a means of achieving it

Law (the one w the death tattoo) is the surgeon of death. he’s a doctor n his df power lets him make a room where he can do basically anything he wants but it’s based on a surgery room. it’s one of the most op fruits in the series
It's funny, because we don't even know if Law's devil fruit would have that room at all with another user. All we know is that it allows you to perform surgeries. I believe Law made it have the room aspect to it in memory of Corazon and his silent bubble.
15:13 i dont consider this that big of a spoiler, but Killer (the dude with the super weird laugh) was insecure about most things about himself- such as his face, now covered up with his mask, and his laugh which he hid from others. At the beginning of the arc he was force fed a SMILE fruit, an artificial devil fruit, which forces the consumer to only be allowed to be 'happy'. Killer cant cry anymore, or mourn, or do anything but smile or laugh, all he can DO is smile even when it hurts. If someone he cares deeply about dies, all he can do is laugh about it- he's crying, but he can only laugh. They ruined his life

I watched this episode a few times when it came out. And I thought then, as did many, that it has gotta be the best episode. Now, I keep getting emotional at many OP scenes in general. But seeing 1015 on this channel just now, over a year after the episode's release, was on an entirely different level. It's like I was seeing the 4th or 5th dimension. ...What a supreme talent this storyboard artist has.
i like the idea of these reactions. Oda even said something along the lines of how new fans may even be able to start near the final saga. And it looks like he was right because its cool to see peoples reactions to one piece.
So with the first time yall seein Yamato, Yamato is Kaido's son (not daughter, son) because Yamato self identifies AS Kozuki Oden. Kozuki Oden was the most powerful Samurai in Wano, and is Momonosuke's Father, as well as the only person to damage Kaido and the one that gave him his X shaped chest scar. Yamato read Kozuki Oden's journal/ships log, which he wrote while on Roger's ship as part of his crew. Luffy at one point as a child said the same thing that roger said as their "secret dream" we do not know what that secret dream is yet, as Oda has cut away or silenced the dream itself on the few occasions where it is said. That paper is a Vivre Card, also called Life Paper. When it burns it shows the person's life force is going out. Actual spoilers ahead Ace is Luffy's bond brother, along with Sabo who is the blond kid from the flashback. They are not biologically related, but as kids they shared a cup of sake and became brothers. Ace is Rogers son, but luffy carries Roger's will, hence sharing the same dream. Luffy is the son of Dragon, the leader of the revolutionary army. And Sabo is the son of a world noble but ran away because he hated how the government did things, and then joined the revolutionary army and is now Dragon's second in command. Killer, the Laughing dude in the mask, is Captain Eustass Kid's first mate. Kid was captured by Kaido, Killer was given the ultimatum of eating a SMILE fruit (artificial devil fruit) which has a chance of making you into whats called a Pleasure, which is a person that cannot stop laughing and smiling no matter what, or into a Gifter which is a person with a Smile devil fruit power (basically a shitty devil fruit that doesnt give you a full transformation). Killer got turned into a pleasure to keep his captain alive, and also became basically a mercenary for Kaido. Now he cant stop laughing and smiling. So Luffy spent a long time in Wano learning how to even damage Kaido and Big Mom. He had to learn how to use Advanced Armament Haki (Ryuo, which is also the red glow when he starts his punch the first time) so that he can push his haki inside something and damage it from within. He fights Kaido like, 4 times in this arc and doesn't make a dent until this very moment. The dude just kept getting back up without any damage, until now. The fire is Gear 5, Luffy's abilities are to fight however wants. Throughout the story he's slowly building on that repertoire of moves that do not behave like rubber. He catches fire, he blows his arm up, he pumps his blood faster, he turns his skin hard as iron and flies around like a bouncy ball, and he can bounce his limbs off the air for some reason. None of those are *just* the properties of rubber, so i think that whole thing is foreshadowing for the awakening of his fruit and revealing that he can do a whole lot more (as we see in g5) On the topic of Yamato being male, I know a lot of people are divisive on this point cause you know yamato is attractive and transgender is a hot topic, but according to a twitter poll done by MelonTeee (i know every comment i make has them in it but they're just the best tbh) a large amount of trans masc people identified with Yamato because apparently latching onto a strong male figure from media is a very common way for trans masc people to realize they themselves are trans, so Yamato is literally a perfect encapsulation on how trans men people actually come to terms with their identity which I think is insanely good attention to detail.

Knowing y'all have minimal exposure to the anime but can still appreciate how amazing it is just makes me more excited for your reactions when you really know what going on. What I love about him walking up to Kaido and Big Mom is that its a parallel to when Isshiki was walking up to Naruto and Sasuke in Boruto. Just a smaller dude about to kick the giants of a previous eras asses with no hesitation

It's strange watching someone who hasn't watched the previous 900+ episodes. You will see that after that things will surely gain even more power. Anyway, 1015 is the best episode of the series so far (at least for me).
Ace and Luffy are brothers but not blood related they grew up together and see eachother like brothers they even made the "sake ritual" in order to be officially a family (the other kid you saw with the hat is Sabo, he's also their brother btw) Yes Ace died but it's better watch it rather then explaining it I'll just say that for me is one of saddest deaths

15:32 long story short the reason why killers laughs is because he was forced to eat a poisoned fruit that has a chance to give someone the power of a Zoan devil fruit. However the fruit killer was forced to eat didn’t give him power instead it robbed him of all emotion except for joy forcing him to laugh despite the fact that he hates his laugh.

fun fact if you guys didnt know episode 1015 is actually the adaptation of chapter 1000 of the manga. They made it like a movie to celebrate chapter 1000 since it was such a big deal when it came out a year beforehand.

Ace and Luffy are brothers but not blood related they grew up together and see eachother like brothers they even made the "sake ritual" in order to be officially a family (the other kid you saw with the hat is Sabo, he's also their brother btw) Yes Ace died but it's better watch it rather then explaining it I'll just say that for me is one of saddest deaths

15:32 long story short the reason why killers laughs is because he was forced to eat a poisoned fruit that has a chance to give someone the power of a Zoan devil fruit.
However the fruit killer was forced to eat didn’t give him power instead it robbed him of all emotion except for joy forcing him to laugh despite the fact that he hates his laugh.

fun fact if you guys didnt know episode 1015 is actually the adaptation of chapter 1000 of the manga. They made it like a movie to celebrate chapter 1000 since it was such a big deal when it came out a year beforehand.
