They’re really showing their true colors with this move. Anyway, I just want to say how grateful I am to you and Jeff for taking the initiative to create a small channel dedicated to boot nerds. Bigger channels tend to recycle the same info (like explaining GYW construction and veg vs. chrome tanning), but you guys keep it fresh and informative. You're truly doing the community a huge service, and I’ve learned so much about boots and the industry because of your content. Don’t let this slow you down. On the bright side, you’re clearly getting noticed, which is a double-edged sword-it highlights how much influence you have (or how much of a “threat” they see you as). I’d hate for Nick’s to go down the same road as Thursday, deleting every negative review. You nailed it in your intro: you don’t rely on the channel to make a living, but as consumers who spend their own money, you absolutely have the right to give honest critiques, pointing out both the good and the bad. For example, I’ve had a negative experience with Role Club, and I’d stand by my critiques publicly or in a Discord discussion-it’s about being fair and truthful. Like you said in a past video, “Just because you’re an exception doesn’t mean you’re the majority.” But I digress. Keep up the amazing work! I always watch your videos the day they drop and am constantly looking forward to the next one (even if the wait is tough!). Thanks for everything, Mike and Jeff. Maybe one day I’ll get the chance to share my collection with you guys. Happy Holidays!
Unsung House was able to fix my Dome White's a couple years ago, for the most common shank squeak. They charged $45 a piece and they just peeled back the sole, reglued and added fabric, then stitched it back down. Problem solved and a quick turnaround. My squeak was a loud creak and I didn't want to wait until after the Dome to send them to White's, was driving me nuts. It was an older stock pair of Cruisers from their shelves, old white box, from before their squeak pads were used. Probably could have avoided that if I rehydrated the insoles/midsoles before wearing.

Funny how Nicks (or Alden for that matter), don't do this to Rose Anvil?! They fear the big influencer with a big following, hmmm? They step on the little guy, like a bully.
I had mentioned my Frank’s Front Range with a squeaky heel counter. The squeak showed up about fifty or so hours after a rebuild, and only on the right side.
Hmm you might reach out and see what they had to say sounds like the heel counter is either moving too much and burnished smooth or was not roughed up enough.
Love your videos, please keep up the great work! That sucks that Nicks boots decided to act like a bunch of whiney little babies instead of just reaching out to you directly. Hopefully they will attempt to make peace and correct their behavior.
I don't think so but I guess anything is possible but it does tell us who reported it so I don't think so cause we know who the appeal goes to. You could be right but I would think it would have happened sooner.
Welp I will repost my comment, My whites mp has a squeak under the ball of foot. Any advice is desired, I rebuilt another pair that had a shank squeak but this one is under foot, so wondering if some boot oil in the insole might fix it.
@@HomeDrummer55 that is a common one for White's, and unfortunately not an easy one to eliminate. They won't put a squeak pad in. I don't know that boot oiling the inside will saturate enough to help. Might just make a mess of your socks. But you could pour some in overnight, and paper towel out as much as you can. You could also try injecting them if you could find the right needle. Unfortunately if those do help, they are only temporary. They need to ne rebuilt correctly unfortunately.
@ yea that’s what I figured. I’ll call out division road here tho, they did rebuild the first one which was definitely a defect. So good on them. On this one, they refuse to rebuild even though it’s within warranty. They tell me my boots are too big and it’s my fault. Like, sure maybe but also what? Can’t rebuild directly with whites so I need to go through my reseller, they won’t do it. So basically I’m just SOL essentially, need to resole out of pocket. End rant
@HomeDrummer55 😔 Sucks White's won't handle Collab issues directly. Doesn't seem right. Regardless of who helped design the boot, White's still built it. Sorry to hear that and shame on White's for kicking the rock down the road.
Doesn’t surprise me with Nicks new “corporate” direction. What’s the big difference in how these makers operate? Well Franks is run by a bootmaker, Whites is run by a bootmaker, Nicks is run by a marketing guy.
Wowwwww... smh.. so petty of Nick's.. how sure are you that it was their doing..?? And i hope that sinks in to ppl.. That you do this for passion, not profit.. So corporate of them...a thumbnail photo.. wtf
Yet another reason to not buy Nicks anymore. I used to be a big fan of theirs but they really lost their way. Had too many issues with them in 2024 and never see myself buying from them again.
This is what happened to me in 2023 and 2024 really is a shame but I like the heat straps stuff though I will have to think twice about that now too. Really is a shame....

Makes me feel lucky that so far only my work boots squeak. And with tinnitus and the noise of the plant it is only annoying to others.

My Nick's boot squeak after walking on puddles. I had to seal the nail holes with super glue to silence that squeak.
That's too bad let me know if the super glue fails at some point.
