I’m excited to see you possibly the sequel and maybe even Wo Long. These games are what got me more into fromsofts titles even if team ninjas bread and butter is a bit different.❤
Having finished a playthrough of Wo Long and its dlc still somewhat recently I would honestly recommend it since it’s so fresh for me still, enjoyed my time with it.
@@mt2r-musicI'd personally say Nioh 2 first, because it isn't as completely reliant on the counters in it, they just pop out pretty often versus being the absolute primary defensive tool, the main mechanic. The stamina system in Nioh 2 is a bit easier to grasp, for me, too. And also having less easily accessible control over your gear Nioh 2(I think, cos the blacksmith is more random in what you get from upgrades and you probably just want to get a better item most of the time versus upgrading your current) as Wo Long (which is just 9 upgrade levels, no gear level like Nioh 2, and that the drop rate feels lower? Plus you can go in and pluck out and put in your bonuses, it's not whatever you want all the time, there's some notable restrictions but it is a lot more manual at least.) means you'll get a wider array of 'spare' bonuses aside from ones that you know you want that you might find surprisingly beneficial, allowing you more insight into the actual use cases of stats as you go through Nioh 2 that you can transfer this knowledge into Wo Long, which I found much tougher and the insight of those stats more useful on my playthrough of it.
Just something to note, the dlc is scaled for ng+ as it was designed for players who had already completed dream of the strong when it released. Ng+ in the nioh games also changes a lot of things, ng+4 being almost nothing alike ng. I would recommend at least doing 1 NG+ cycle before tackling the dlc otherwise you may find it a "little" unfair. The dlc certainly doesn't hold back.
I unfortunately found this out the hard way, those Rokurokubi and Namahage destroyed me! lol...After about 4 hours of constantly getting my ass kicked, I decided to look up how to kill them effectively and thats how I found out that it was scaled for NG+...I went and did the first 2 regions of NG+ to get some decent divine gear and that was enough to level the playing field...
During Nioh 1 I was always extremely underleveled so every level with a boss in it took days. When playing Nioh 2 it got even worse to a point I stopped playing at the first cave level because the boss was just too strong. I really like the game but I don’t know what Im doing wrong.
@@mt2r-musicThe best thing you can do is get your toughness to atleast 200 and start blocking more...Just wear whatever armor will get you to atleast 200 and still be under 70% equip weight, don't worry about wearing a matching set...Also make sure you put levels into Onmyo and Ninjutsu so you can use buffs and debuffs! Some of them are incredibly strong! For level points distribution, just put points into whatever ever you need to wear the armor and weapon you want and then spead the rest between Ki and Ki recovery, and get Onmyo and Ninjutsu to 20...I never put levels into my weapon damage stats until later in the game...Don't waste levels on health either, you are going to die in a couple hits either way...Just dump points into Ki and Ki recovery so you can block and attack more...
@@mt2r-musicfirst cave level, Viper's Sanctum? The boss is the big snake with the high up head with the snake arms. I'd suggest getting Barrier talisman, that can dispel yokai pools and regenerates stamina faster, good for if you don't have stamina in the dark realm. And also it would mean you'd have invested in lightning and purity talismans, weapon buffs which applying the status effects of both of would inflict Confusion, a very powerful debuff. Lightning also slows down enemies and Purity means more Ki damage, which means you can knock them out of Dark Realm phase faster. I'd recommend for a weapon the Odachi, because the High stance strikes hit the head well and the Mid stance strikes hit the snakes well, Dark Realm or not. I also think High Stance's longer distance dodge is better for dodging its attacks since I think it's thick enough I'm not as preferential to a close, intimate small dodges playstyle, and I want distance for avoiding the homing missiles attack also. Failing dodging, blocking is always fine too. Destroying the statues before it clears the poison from the arena, but antidotes on your hotbar help with the poison pools it makes.
it really hurt me seeing him get burned and just wait the fire damage out, instead of spamming dodge to trivialize the fire duration to 1~ sec. It's become a common trope in games that can burn you - dodge & roll!
Ah yeah the GOAT is next. Nioh 2 is my favorite game, even beating out Bloodborne. And I'd recommend getting these games on PC for more stable performance and also to have the DLCs, they are sometimes "cheap" on discount.
You can get them super cheap on PC...I got the complete edition for both of them for $12 each...I only have a Playstation for exclusives, otherwise I buy all my games on PC...It has saved me a truckload of money over the years!
You really should pick up the DLCs if you have the extra cash to spend, they are really fun! I picked up the complete edition of Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 last year for $12 each on PC...I wish I had found these game sooner because they are amazing! They have a very specific vibe that is hard to describe...I ended up putting in about 600 hours between them, and I still get the urge to go back for more!
Shoutout to Tachibana and Ii for having the armor sets every. Single. Player phantom uses. Players with online and using the build that utilizes those armor sets will probably never even have to grind smithing text and yokai parts... As someone who loved keeping my range and using ninjitsu tools to stack on insane amounts of damage... I had to grind out Hattori Hanzo's dojo fight soooo many times.
Oh hell yeah I fucking love the Nioh games! The DLCs are totally worth it by the way, the levels and bosses are great and that’s where you get the extra NG+ difficulties where a huge chunk of the endgame grind opens up. Nioh 2 is even better so you should definitely play that next
For me Mistunari is one of the hardest fights in the game on NG+ cycles because he has a lot more health to go along with his high damage and attack speed
You're braver than me man, I made it to the water boss on the ship, beat him with lots of struggling, heard he was no where near the toughest in the game and quit soon after 😅
After you level up Onmyo and Ninjustsu both Nioh 1 and 2 get much easier...If you use everything the game offers you can destroy almost every boss in the game pretty easily...There are a few hard bosses later on, but most of the difficulty is in the early areas of the game before you have any tools...
you dont have to cleanse the 3 crystals in the gasha dokuro fight, cleansing them increases your amrita bar constantly as long as you are standing inside the glowing area, your meant to fight him with living weapon, hes very weak to all elements. you can also just not cleanse any, get your amrita bar up by using some amrita or killing some enemies and then fight him right away with your living weapon, you have to kill him quickly in that case tho, else you will run out.
I never break the crystals, I like just fighting him...I didn't even realize the fight would end if you broke the crystals until my 3rd playthrough! lol...I ended up breaking them on accident and was like WTH! lol
And now you’re onto Nioh?? Where do you find the time to get good enough at these games to make these videos?! I know I've already raved about your work ethic and all, but that was just regarding the Souls/FromSoft titles. As ever, you continue to astound and impress with both the frequency and quality or your content! Thanks so much for taking the time to make and share this with us!
Love the Nioh games. FYI, the main mission Honda fight can be simplified even more as the crystals on top of the staircase can be destroyed from outside of the arena before beginning the fight. ;D
You can actually refight Derrick's demon form in the mission The Queen's Eyes, so you can have a full battle instead of one prematurely ended by a cutscene
@brucepreston3927 He is in the basement, beat him and you get his second entry in the log. The only reason I found him is because I knew he would reappear due to the missing entry
Love the British jokes the week before Thanksgiving. Thanks for that! Surprised my least favorite boss is on the next list. Hino-Enma kicked my ass way too many times.
mitsunari has an unusally low hp pool, to account for the fact that he wll very likely inflict you with the wind debuff which lowers your attack dramatically, if you dont get the debuff you can kill him instantly
Neat, Nioh! I like Nioh 2 a lot, and Nioh 1 is, pretty good too. Especially for the time. Of Nioh 1? Memory's fuzzy, but I think i thought the DLC 2 final boss was pretty good, liked Big Umi Bozu a lot and Ongyoki and Umbrella Vampire Lady too. The big skeleton was nice? Giant toad, cool too. Oda Nobunaga was a really fun challenge for me, the five elements each having unique attacks, and his wife had some fun attacks too. Mm, that jumpy lady. Okatsu. Like her. Think they're my Nioh 1 favourites, i think. The living weapon users i don't remember much about, Shima is way too hard and wide, Kelley, i don't think much about, nor Hundred Eyes or Orochi. Muneshige is just a guy, it's a fine guy. Is about the timed dodges though, very much. Ooh! Flappy lad, raven, gun guy. Fine one.

Hope you play Nioh 2, its basically better in every way but the bosses especially are a huge step up. Some genuine all timers in that game
