    Did this repair a week ago. Took about 1.5 hours. Thank you very much for the tips as it saved me even more time. I used a cut off wheel to remove the excess material in about 2 seconds instead of filing it down. I did buy a swivel 8mm socket and while it probably could have been done without, it was well worth the $7 at Amazon. I had a bit of trouble getting the passenger side to slide back in, but after some leverage with a flat head it did go in. Back on the road now and no issues. Thank you again.

    Back bolt use 1/4" socket and 1/4" swivel. With 4" extension. Put socket onn the head of bolt set the swivel so when at 90° angle it firm. Use extension to turn the bolt like a wrench.

    A shop will charge about $500 as they claim the intake “must” be removed.

    You might have just saved me a huge headache as I’m about to attempt this on a 2013 Navigator. What year truck is this?

    My 2013 lincoln navigator needs this done and im worried about the coolant. I dont know if the sparkplugs wells have been splashed with coolant or flooded. Did you encounter that problem?? How did you fix it?. Did you clean the coolant on top of the engine ? ? How did you do it? Is it necessary?? Is coolant corrosive?

    • @bleedingeyeball27
      @bleedingeyeball27  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes. Coolant will most likely go into the spark plug wells. No, I don't believe it's corrosive. Not really a problem to get out. Either use a compressor or "canned air" to blow it out. Just put a rag over it when you do.... remember safety glasses.

      Did this work on your navigator? I have a 2013 as well with the same problem.

      @@hcfirefighter82yes it worked perfectly eazy fix !!! Only spent about 15dllrs on Autozone for the new gaskets. The coolant did not go into the sparkplugs because the coils have rubber gaskets that cover the wells. It took like an hour to fix make sure to clean well before putting everything back. Then flushed all the old coolant out and fill with fresh one. There are other videos how to do it.

      @@hcfirefighter82. I don't know if you know this my 2013 to 2014 Lincoln navigator have the 3rd gen 5.4L V8. That has the upgraded sparkplugs that don't brake when replacing. And waterpump.. recomend keep up with oil changes every 3k miles. To prevent rocker valves wearing and causing loud ticking noise that will further cause it to break and break engine timing chains. DONT IDDLE FOR TOO LONG that causes again rocker valves to thirst for oil and since truck is not moving it wont supply enough oil. If the truck is been unused for a while it will have loud ticking noise from the Rokers but that is normal it will go away after 1 minute.

      @@bleedingeyeball27 it's all good, i found the problem was the coolant hose leaking into the #4 cylinder. i had replaced the rad due to a small leak at the neck, and I was nervous that maybe I screwed up the install. NOW, I have a possible bad can phaser or clogged vvt sensor. Im gonna do it myself soon.

    • @antraxcybernetic4090

      @@redj5581 did the can phaser go bad from the spilled coolant?? Or that is a separate issue??.
      I have a 2013 lincoln navigator with the crack crossover seal gasket on the driver's side easy fix but I have no idea if coolant leaked into the sparkplugs coils

      @@antraxcybernetic4090 those plastic chaim guides i think either broke and clogged up oil pump or pump went out. on the highway, even right after oil change. Id suggest, if you cant change the pump to the high vol melling, and chain plus guides replacement, get someone to do it. Ive found a ol mechanic that retired and does these engine all day everyday just.to keep busy. 3k for rebuild and with premium parts. that's including RNR!
      so Im not going to invest my time and effort$ and just going with the rebuild. i have like 220k on it and it was well abused.

      Thanks for the video, it could also save me from spending money I don't have! question, is there a bolt on the passenger side that is difficult to get to, or is that a lip where the crossover pipe just sits on? If it is a bolt, how did you get to it?
