Huge saves
Thank you, gonna try that this weekend, dealership wanted over $1000 to rebuild ignition cylinder.
Hey everybody i follow your video and i fix mines man it was way too easy , so much for mechanics charging arm and leg to take off the intske,, one tip for the guys that has older 5.4 3v with the back bolt difficult to remove , try this gear wrench part # 85418, thank you doesit😊ract
Great video informative from start to finish, do you have any on spark plugs by any chance?
Idler pulley
You might have just saved me a huge headache as I’m about to attempt this on a 2013 Navigator. What year truck is this?
How'd it go?
It went perfect. Thanks for posting this
Noise from Alternator 100%.
My 2013 lincoln navigator needs this done and im worried about the coolant. I dont know if the sparkplugs wells have been splashed with coolant or flooded. Did you encounter that problem?? How did you fix it?. Did you clean the coolant on top of the engine ? ? How did you do it? Is it necessary?? Is coolant corrosive?
Yes. Coolant will most likely go into the spark plug wells. No, I don't believe it's corrosive. Not really a problem to get out. Either use a compressor or "canned air" to blow it out. Just put a rag over it when you do.... remember safety glasses.
Did this work on your navigator? I have a 2013 as well with the same problem.
@@hcfirefighter82yes it worked perfectly eazy fix !!! Only spent about 15dllrs on Autozone for the new gaskets. The coolant did not go into the sparkplugs because the coils have rubber gaskets that cover the wells. It took like an hour to fix make sure to clean well before putting everything back. Then flushed all the old coolant out and fill with fresh one. There are other videos how to do it.
@@hcfirefighter82. I don't know if you know this my 2013 to 2014 Lincoln navigator have the 3rd gen 5.4L V8. That has the upgraded sparkplugs that don't brake when replacing. And waterpump.. recomend keep up with oil changes every 3k miles. To prevent rocker valves wearing and causing loud ticking noise that will further cause it to break and break engine timing chains. DONT IDDLE FOR TOO LONG that causes again rocker valves to thirst for oil and since truck is not moving it wont supply enough oil. If the truck is been unused for a while it will have loud ticking noise from the Rokers but that is normal it will go away after 1 minute.
How did you get the screw put with the manifold screw attached to it?
Thank you sir 🙏! After it raining the past few days I noticed a leak on the drivers side of my 06 Navigator and the SAME EXACT 3 ISSUES occurred. I’m going to check that connector now! Questions please: 1- were u able to find out if the leak came from the windshield or moonroof? 2-what’s ur MPG? Mine is 9-10mpg and I’ve done everything Plus! Note: I can literally see the gas gauge dropping after going up steep hills it won’t shift up from 1st and the RPMs stay above 2000 until I top and put it in park. Thanks again! AE Seattle.
So, any luck?
Can that be done on the 4.6 L???
Sorry, I don't know. Maybe if it looks similar on the video.
@@bleedingeyeball27 Thanks for the reply... And I found out that it's molded to the intake... I don't understand why they do some things because making sure the regular guy can't do the work...🤣 Great video though brother...
VERY COO MAN! Glad you got 'er fixed up! Thanks for the shout out too!
Usually idler pulley. In my case it was the alternator.
YOU TALK ABOUT NOTHING TO DAMN MUCH AND STILL NO REAL FIX
Thanks for the video. My 04 navigator is doing the same thing... About to go try your method and see if it works. As it sounds very promising. Thanks again.. Btw.. why havent all us Ford owners having this problem, all contacted Ford Motors for answers and refunds for all the money we've spent on trying to repair these vehicles at the dealership?! I think I'll give Ford a call tomorrow and ask why they've not issued a recall for the leaking windshield. My husbands 01 F150 does the same thing when it rains... It causes major electrical issues!!
Sorry, didn't get a notice about your comment...so, any luck?
The right side has the back bolt near the manifold, how did u get it off
How did u remove the bolt from underneath on the right side??
Did u ever get a answer
This video is good and helpful but going forward please film using a "real" video camera. This video is awkward to view on a laptop/desktop given the very narrow format.
A shop will charge about $500 as they claim the intake “must” be removed.
Yeah, doubt they would watch the video.
In California $700+
That sounds like my Lincoln Navigator ,06 but the rev on mine sounds good that sounds like a sick motor you should take it to the mechanic
def power steering
Did this repair a week ago. Took about 1.5 hours. Thank you very much for the tips as it saved me even more time. I used a cut off wheel to remove the excess material in about 2 seconds instead of filing it down. I did buy a swivel 8mm socket and while it probably could have been done without, it was well worth the $7 at Amazon. I had a bit of trouble getting the passenger side to slide back in, but after some leverage with a flat head it did go in. Back on the road now and no issues. Thank you again.
Nice.
What size is the original radio?
I did a quick Google search and I couldn't find anything... I suppose if you go on Amazon and look for aftermarket models compatible with the stock radio, it may give you some idea what the original radio dimensions are.
Around a 6.7 inch would work. Maybe even a 7 inch
I know why it’s a 3v
what year is this expediton?
Sorry, I didn't see your comment earlier...2014
@@bleedingeyeball27 it's all good, i found the problem was the coolant hose leaking into the #4 cylinder. i had replaced the rad due to a small leak at the neck, and I was nervous that maybe I screwed up the install. NOW, I have a possible bad can phaser or clogged vvt sensor. Im gonna do it myself soon.
@@redj5581 did the can phaser go bad from the spilled coolant?? Or that is a separate issue??. I have a 2013 lincoln navigator with the crack crossover seal gasket on the driver's side easy fix but I have no idea if coolant leaked into the sparkplugs coils
@@antraxcybernetic4090 those plastic chaim guides i think either broke and clogged up oil pump or pump went out. on the highway, even right after oil change. Id suggest, if you cant change the pump to the high vol melling, and chain plus guides replacement, get someone to do it. Ive found a ol mechanic that retired and does these engine all day everyday just.to keep busy. 3k for rebuild and with premium parts. that's including RNR! so Im not going to invest my time and effort$ and just going with the rebuild. i have like 220k on it and it was well abused.
What about the 3v?
Not sure what you're asking. Please elaborate.
My best guess is; Power steering fluid, is low, or needs to be replaced. Hopefully it’s not a power steering leak or power steering pump.
Back bolt use 1/4" socket and 1/4" swivel. With 4" extension. Put socket onn the head of bolt set the swivel so when at 90° angle it firm. Use extension to turn the bolt like a wrench.
Good info. That's all I needed to know. Simple, quick and concise. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, it could also save me from spending money I don't have! question, is there a bolt on the passenger side that is difficult to get to, or is that a lip where the crossover pipe just sits on? If it is a bolt, how did you get to it?
Great Video! Do you have a video of the install of the after market Radio you put in? I want to do the same thing with my 2006 Nav.
Sorry for the delay in reply. No, didn't make a follow what video should have though because it was a little tricky and there was a simpler way to do it. Sorry.
Worked exactly as advertised. Two thumbs up.
Bad ass. Medal of Freedom coming my way...
Thanks for the info. My 2006 Nav is doing exact same thing and when I pulled fuse 102 the key would release but like you pointed out how do you trace a short in a yellow wire that is taped up, winds around everywhere. Haven't done your procedure yet but hopefully its the same problem. Thanks for the tip much appreciated.
No problem. Hope all works out.
Hi Thanks, Did it start after this?
👏
Windshield probably not leaking. There are drain holes on each inside corner of moon roof. The front left one is probably blocked allowing water that comes in around moonroof edge to run down inside A pillar and by the connector. There are separate videos on how to clear those drains.
Just curious, when you had this problem did the Park light next to the shifter light up Red when you had it in park? mIne doesn't light up....
Wasn't an issue for me.
Going to give it a try this weekend with my 05 navigator. If this fix works I’ll help you pay for that $38 dollars. Thanks!
Lll
You had to disassemble the door panel to swap out the switch right?
by chance did this fix the exterior lights like the seering wheel and console lights not working??? If not how do do that and auto lamp not working....just bought this as I can fix im sure. Just need some direction. Thanks
Alternator is going bad... that sound is the bearings grinding
My 03 navigator sounds like that but only when is on gear. It got me thinking is the torque converter because it stops making the noise when is on N or P but on D it makes this noise
What is that glue or what is in the white bottle that you applied? Im having the same problem.
Dielectric grease...NOT GLUE...
So what are the ingrefients? My country dont have these companys bottles
Woooow
After watching this vid I looked at my left side. Oh my lord, I wish I could put a photo here. I have a bit of rust and right here you can see that someone has been in this side and there are electric wires that have been cheaply wrapped with black tape. Oh, it makes me so mad because I know the lady who I bought the SUV from.
who did you use for the help? I looked up E answers but just a website ty
Rain is a big issue with the top of the hood there are two dips on the top and yes they leak down into the windshield into the side panels both sides
Another bad problem is the junction boxes go bad on the right side of the door...you end up replacing the junction box
