Useful to know. I tend to use another branded battery checker after using my B6, and it is always a little on the low side (i.e. the safe side). That said the B6 does do a pretty good job of balancing the cells with a max diff of 0.02 volts which I can live with.
I, myself, rather it undercharge. Mine is also a knock off and I know they don't read voltage very well, so I rather it thinks it's 4.2 per cell when it's actually 4.15 than the other way around. Besides the reduced risk of lipo fire, undercharge will also increase battery life.
I also noticed that there is no current calibration; the reading displayed for 600mA = 0.6A therefore it could between 0.55A or 0.65A which would make a big difference
Very helpful info thanks. I just bought a Dynamite Prophet Precept charger. When I balance charge the charge will stop at 96% actual full but reads at 100% full. I went to use your calibrate method and found the charger to be correct in the voltage reading. So after balance charging a battery I have to put it in charge mode to top off at your suggested .2 amps and works fine at 99% full. Is this a common with lipo chargers to work this way?
As far as I read you can do the balancing calibrating just once. I can do this single calibration as much as I want. Erika Thornes thanks for that tutorial. My Imax still gives me to high readings (+0.06V over Norm) but at leasts its better than the +0.18V earlier. Now it charges an Lipo at least to 95% max capacity (earlier it was around 80%)
my imax b6ac is showing wrong voltage of the cells, i know my 6 cells are 3.8v but the charger is charging saying they are all over the place, 4.11v etc. damn.
The problem with your calibration process is that you are relying on your multimeter as your "standard". When or has your multimeter ever been calibrated? The number of digits your meter will read is not accuracy, that is resolution, to be accurate, the meter must be calibrated against a standard of known PROVABLE accuracy. I used to work in a calibration shop, all our "standards" were calibrated against the national standard which in turn were calibrated against the world standard. Calibration is a chain, your multimeter is first or anchor link in your calibration chain, therefore the weakest link. Have you considered that your multimeter readings may be in error as well? What I would recommend is that you get your buddies over for pizza, have them all bring their multimeter with them and take a reading on your "standard" battery then average them and use a good stable well regulated variable power supply as your voltage "standard". Then carry on as per your video.
really i got 3 units imax 6 and they are like way off and multi-meter ant off that much and were the f is one to fine a hp voltmeter to vett the multimeter he has so we do what we can
I tried it with the clone B6 mini and no luck. It was a cheap 20$ charger so I got it as my ISDT Q6 plus will only balance charge and the battery for my QX7 cannot be balance charged so I figured why not. I knew in advance this would probably not charge correctly as they are not calibrated very well from the factory. Hopefully, someone will know how to do this
No i didn't my house burnt down a few days later and it fries so now i use a icharger 406duo. I will never use an imax again for charging lipos. Cheap junk. They don't balance properly or cap off batteries full. You don't realize until you spend money on a quality icharger the night and day difference.
Hitec for life! :D Though I gotta admit, my Turnigy Accucell 6 has served me well for many years. Right now it's doing duty charging and discharging 18650 cells from laptop batteries.
So, you managed to f your charger up and then on top of that burn your house down? Sounds like total bs, or rival channel, or you need to stay away from electronics.
ya i just ordered this and from what ive heard on the fake ones it can lock the charger up turning it into a paper weight so i WONT be attempting. If it charges a little under then thats better than over so oh well
thx However, I used this menu a year ago on another B6 (fake), and on the current one, this won't show up... No way to get this option. any idea ? (if this channel is still fed and messages read !)
Some are a bit different, there are so so many copies around. You need to press the "menu" and "stop" buttons on some of them, but BEWARE : search how to calibrate them before or you'll get stuck. you have been warned.
sir i am having a lipo 14.8v 4600mah 4cell 68wh battery and when i set 14.8v and 4.6amp on the turo charger balance mode and trying to charge to charge the attery the charger is shutting down after 11 sec and restarting.what is the prolem.plss help
Emil Madsen Well that sucks cause I think mine only charges to about 11.9 and I think its supposed to be 12.7 or something. Thats odd that it wont go into cali. If I figure it out ill drop the info here in case ya need it/want it.

Yes, I have another now, still low.
Decrease-Start does not work on my charger. Is the calibrate menu not available at all for some firmware versions? If so, I'll load new firmware.

a clone imax. You should add it to description. Nice helpful
video
I see a lot of confusion here, would you mind moving the camera closer in, to then better see the buttons and view the screen? Thanks.
Wasn't thinking about it at the time. Just doing the best with what I had.
I got a real Sky RC IMax B6 and you can't calibrate it I tried but it's not necessary. It's spot on when compared to a calibrated Fluke meter.
A real one would be ideal.
I also noticed that there is no current calibration; the reading displayed for 600mA = 0.6A therefore it could between 0.55A or 0.65A which would make a big difference
Hello, is the calibration done only once ? Or is it done with every battery that is going to be charged? Thanks
Only once
Hey what If I can't get into the menu while holding down the keys nothing happens?
Good video? Not working in imax b6 mini?...
good video!

How to calibrate your fake IMAX B6 the genuine one is spot on :).
Your point? I have a real one next to me right now.
@@Erik740t Right one should be on point, no need to calibrate!
You have to do this to every battery???
No, just one time when you know it is correct
Erik740t how did you get it to charge without the balance plug plugged in.
You can charge, without balance
When I press the two buttons this menu will not come up?
i have the same problem
same sh....
Remember, yet, on a previous fake B6, having done this w/o problem...
Any chance you found the solution by now?
What meter are you using?
calibrating .... can you do it several times, or just once?
(read it was only posibile to do it one only time?)
As far as I read you can do the balancing calibrating just once.
I can do this single calibration as much as I want.
Erika Thornes

Unfortunately just once
nice camera position! :)
furulevi sarcasm I hope... the camera is so far away you can't see what is on the display.
Devin Duncan the position is good, but the distance is not so good...
I will download this and redo it
has anyone had an issue with it booting right into discharge battery mode? i cant fix it..
my imax b6ac is showing wrong voltage of the cells, i know my 6 cells are 3.8v but the charger is charging saying they are all over the place, 4.11v etc. damn.
I will remake this video but zoomed in and enhanced within a week. I am sorry about the visuals on this.

How was the original calibration derived?
really i got 3 units imax 6 and they are like way off and multi-meter ant off that much and were the f is one to fine a hp voltmeter to vett the multimeter he has so we do what we can
Sorry brother. That meter has been calibrated to the t
I had the meter in the video calibrated. It is exactly on point.
Thank you. Even an unclibrated meter is way closer than the image b6.
For Dec and enter Shows: System update Please Wait... ?
But its in ACv2

How can you be confident that the meter you are calibrating to is more accurate than the charger was?
i also need to know that
branded pro multimeters
Thank you, but it has also been calibrated
Tried doing what you suggested and it locked my charger up and no longer works. Thanks!
What was your problem ? Did you ever find the solution ?

Can’t see the screen of imax charger....charger is far to the camera...
Sorry, I made this a very long time ago.
ya i just ordered this and from what ive heard on the fake ones it can lock the charger up turning it into a paper weight so i WONT be attempting. If it charges a little under then thats better than over so oh well
people just need to know how to finish the calibration procedure...
thx
However, I used this menu a year ago on another B6 (fake), and on the current one, this won't show up...
No way to get this option.
any idea ? (if this channel is still fed and messages read !)
I am not sure really. It's been a while but I am back.
anyone know if you can make the screen brighter on this charger?
This is not original skyrc mini
Huh? You say you entered negative numbers to show the value determined by the meter? WTH?
My b6ac don't work this MODALITY! WHY===??
Some are a bit different, there are so so many copies around.
You need to press the "menu" and "stop" buttons on some of them, but BEWARE : search how to calibrate them before or you'll get stuck. you have been warned.
It won't work for me
Is not work to my iMax b6ac dual power
Maybe a different version.
tq
sir i am having a lipo 14.8v 4600mah 4cell 68wh battery and when i set 14.8v and 4.6amp on the turo charger balance mode and trying to charge to charge the attery the charger is shutting down after 11 sec and restarting.what is the prolem.plss help
Cannot see the charger display
Was a long time ago, I apologize
did not work on mine. I dont have the B-6ac. I just jave the regular B-6. Oh, and yes it is the fake.
Filming too close
Too far away you mean?
Doesn't work.
dammit its not working
it just goes straight to lipo charge
Emil Madsen Mine wont go into cali either. Did you get it to work?
Phlop Alopagus no i couldnt get it to work but a few tenths of a percent in voltage doesnt make a huge difference
Emil Madsen Well that sucks cause I think mine only charges to about 11.9 and I think its supposed to be 12.7 or something. Thats odd that it wont go into cali. If I figure it out ill drop the info here in case ya need it/want it.
Phlop Alopagus thanks man
thats like 30-50% less capacity
Can any one help me??
Best way to Calibrate that charger is throw it in the trash and buy a real charger
The charger has actually done a great job and I had the same lipo packs cycled hundreds of times and didn't lose capacity or flight time.
WHERE IS SKYRC LOGO?
Wash your dishes! :P
I would NOT do this.
