      How then can we answer questions such as 'Why are there distinct Ethnic Majorities in most areas at most times?'.... Wokeness and Liberal Values must not be allowed to infect anthropology, history and hominid genetics as Racism is a major factor, if not the main factor. Self-segregation happens as much as forced segregation, historically.. Using academic subjects to preach Leftist drivel should be banned on brain-numbing, nasty political grounds. @@micheledix2616 I'm not sure you've understood the video. The problem to produce vitamin D is not the light skin. Light skin actually makes it easier to get as much vitamin D as possible because it is an adaptation to living in the north where there is not enough sunlight. It is exactly the lack of sun that causes the lack of vitamin D. Dark skinned people living in the north have a much bigger problem producing high levels of vitamin D than white skinned people because their skin colour is adapted to more sun. What really is dangerous though is, as you do, not to use sunscreen. There are high levels of skin cancer in Australians with white skin who don't use sun screen, so you should reconsider this habit however lazy you may be.

      @Lee Kenyon I say that colour has no bearing on intelligence but access and drive for education is the answer. Your average European African or Asian living in poverty with little access to education and a drive for survival rather than intellectual betterment, which all are capable of, are in the same intellectual boat. Less poverty and more education is essential to lifting all peoples. It's not a colour differential its a wealth one.

      The lecture drifted from interesting science to clownish chiding and virtue signaling - admonishing us to make a perhaps dishonest change in society that can't work if there is, indeed, a difference; a difference now clouded by the radioactively-charged word "race" but that is, in fact, a difference that is simply "difference."
      Ignoring a real difference, if it exists, is dishonest and counterproductive and cannot lead to the solution of problems which have arisen from that difference. It must be addressed head on, whether doing so is politically correct or not.
      To preach otherwise is to be cowardly - at a moment in time that calls for bravery, lest we perpetuate injustice because we refuse to address a reality-based course of action. And if you can't even talk about it because someone's feelings might be hurt, or you will be shouted down, the solution will never be found.

PBS did a thing on that I the last few years of the 20th century and it was NEVER SHOWN AGAIN! THIS FROM A STATION THAT REPEATS EVERYTHING OVER AND OVER. I've often wondered why they never brought that show back. Was it because a scientist on the program came out and and said there is only one race;that the physical differences only represent the geographic areas we settled in.? • @KayAteChef
      @KayAteChef Год назад +2

      I thought that the effect of how dark a body is is mainly in absorption of heat rather than the rate of radiation from that body. I.e. the radiation is a product of the temperature of the body. However the darker object will heat up faster in the glow of the Sun or a lamp etc.

    • @keep-ukraine-free
      @keep-ukraine-free Год назад +4

      Dr. Jablonski used the term thermoregulation to describe our ability to "remove/retain" heat.
      Skin color has little effect on heat loss, relative to predicate methods of relying on fur. Skin color's impact is there, but minor. Heat loss from fur-less skin is much more (orders more) than by skin color alone. So it's minor.
      And the Vit. D issue isn't key. Melanin & Vitamin-D production are "yin/yang" symbiotic - *_both_** are key* to survival.

In Islam, God is beyond comprehension, beyond anything in creation, and cannot be reduced to descriptions that human language require of beings, like having a body; furthermore, any use of this type of language in relation to God in Islam is metaphorical, again due to the limits of human language.
      As an example of an effect of a limitation in human language, in English I am forced to use S/He to refer to God, but in Arabic, God is gender neutral because the language is less limited in this respect ( re: expressing gender); this has resulted in English language culture and other European language cultures to conceptualize God as male (as the masculine form was predominant). So, what we have here is both language and theology working together to create a male, humanoid God.

    I was not impressed listening to the statement (56:00) that the slave trade had been going on for 250 years. The slave trade had been going on for thousands of years. It is the present obssession with 'white blaming' I call it. You don't need to do much digging to find out the truth about the slave trade in the 16th,17th, 18th and 19th centuries, to learn that in fact it was already an estblished 'business' in Africa and Arabia long before white Europeans even set foot on African soil. The Africn tribes that specialised in the trading of slaves were very happy to supply the new European customers with slaves and the demand was huge. Some African tribes did nothing else other than supply slaves to Europeans: The Portugese, the Spaniards, English, Dutch, French etc and later the demand coming from the newly conquered lands of the Americas. So the 'blame' for the slave trade should not just be targeted at the Europeans but all those that were involved in it, irrespective of skin colour and heritage.

Years ago, after learning in biology that sunlight triggered the body to make Vitamin D and also having observed that people were lighter or darker depending on their proximity to the Equator, I theorized that the availability of the sun was directly responsible for the multitude of skin colors. I also concluded that some lighter toned peoples also re-gained the ability to process milk due to the lack of sun in northern climates. When creatures started becoming more human the legs lengthened so they could run instead of mostly hanging out in and around trees. Each step in those directions kept more alive to reproduce.

    That human skin color comes in a continuous range of shades is something that most people today understand, and in particular, most people in the U.S. But that wasn't always so. Just 60 years ago, most Americans could categorize anyone they were likely to meet as either black or white (with the occasional American Indian, who was neither, largely ignored). This made maintaining a system of racial segregation easy. In 1964, we passed the Civil Rights Act, to end racial discrimination. But it would not have been nearly as successful as it has been if it were not for another law passed the next year. I don't mean the Voting Rights Act, I mean the 1965 immigration law, which allowed people from many different parts of the world, most of whom were neither white nor black, to start immigrating to the U.S. People tend to overlook the importance of having this "rainbow" of skin color all around us. Well, Ray Charles did sing about it, but only after it was well established. It is almost never mentioned in discussions about race relations in this country. Perhaps it should be. Sorry for injecting this into a "scientific" discussion, but I just thought that needed saying.

You touched on something earlier, and I wanted you to continue. Yes, I have had to put up with remarks about my hair colour, as in having a bad temperament . One more thing, have you read about the village up in the Italian Alps where most of the people have Red hair, and embrace the Scottish side happily. It's very interesting,, and fascinating. @petefluffy7420 It's in the way you present the ideas. You don't use technical jargon, but easy to understand words for the children. I have taught and written training materials for 6th graders to engineers and astronauts. To me, being intelligent and knowledgeable about the topic means that I can explain it to most people at an appropriate and understandable level. Many professors cannot do that. They want the students to come up to their level instead of going down to theirs.

      Completely & respectfully disagree! No disrespect but that’s what you were taught to believe in this materialistic epoch.
      Melanin is MUCH more than skin colour! Melanin represents the HIGHER spiritual universal ORDER.
      EVERYTHING comes from darkness!!
      There are laws that governs the universe, one of those laws is the universal law of polarity (duality/law of opposites) look keenly & you will see this manifested all around you, even in the abstract, your mind is also a polarity.
      What this means in metaphysical terms is, black skin & white skin exists before environment (material world) because they are polar opposite of each other, just like;
      Hot & Cold
      Love & Hate
      Man & Woman
      Good & Evil
      Etc, etc..
      Darkness & light are polar opposites of each other, darkness was before light, but light always existed in darkness until it was time to manifest in a particular epoch (a particular time of evolution or devolution).
      W-Man always existed in B-Man as a polarity metaphysically, until a particular epoch when he was going to be manifested because he’s the opposite, he came after (the omega) & would inevitably come without a high degree of melanin because he manifested for a particular reason as a polarity (OPPOSITE; different in nature, quality or significance. Completely opposed).
      Nothing happens in the universe without a reason everything is an expression of DIVINE CONSCIOUSNESS & serves a purpose for the end game of GROWTH (cultivation is the universal dynamic).
      MAN (humanity) is the universe in human form & the same laws regulate & govern him. As well he goes through cycles of regeneration & degeneration of consciousness of SELF & FORM.
      Seeing what you believe to be true, this is going to be hard for you to digest. Anyway, PEACE.

    Great presentation. Thanks to Dr Jablonsky. I would have some comments or maybe doubts, but my main point after watching is, the fact that skin colour evolution is now explained; the idea of race as a social construction is also valid for anybody using skin colour as a valid discrimination tool, this includes black people and Latinos as well any other race. Apart from that, I want to keep the idea of race not as a discriminatory element but as a simple fact of some external traits with no moral value, thus saying that a person is black or white, or yellow, or purple does not mean that the person that says it is a racist one and mentions a valid, informative element, not a discriminatory one.

I knew right away that I never grew up with their circumstances or perspectives so I never judge them for it. The natives in my town have their own school that I feel that by being closed off and taught about injustices against them and by those that have a chip on their shoulders so to speak keeps festering hatred. Yeah that was a dream Martin Luther King had, but now racism means entitlement and reverse racism to many to repay all the wrongs of the past. So racism has become the color revolutionary disrupter to cause revolutions and the downfall of nations. All a part of Agenda 21 and the great reset. Which is a plan that is against "the human race" as there are to many humans on the earth. So the challenge of the future is not against racism but against those who are actually against the ALPHA species as being to many in population and want to cull the herd. Centralized control of all resources and revolutions, civil wars, epidemics, famine are all parts of the toolsets that Agenda 21 false color revolutions will promote to "save the world from global warming" or "climate change". The terms and lies will focus on dividing humans and self hatred of the "slave owners" or "humans being the owners of other things further down on the evolutionary chart". So the revolution we will see coming is a Green New Deal or BUILD BACK better revolution that will destroy the free world countries and then the communists will say enough destruction has happened. It will be encouraged to destroy the west. And every socialist revolution we see especially the ones in Africa ended in famine and death of many humans. But to the leaders of Agenda 21 and it's perverted offspring, failure is not an option but the goal. This is why the west must be destroyed, but of course the major western countries feed the rest of the world. So vast famines and plagues will be used. And this plan "you will own nothing but rent everything and be happy" per UN AGENDA 2030 website is a pure path to communism and centralized control that results in famine. And totalitarian and communism are both fine and dandy for the Agenda 21 elites. So the cause of fighting racism is just one of the tools in the toolbox of those who want to destroy humanity. I'm not for racism, I'm just saying the reparation game to pay those in the past for wrongs of the human race and the "industrial revolution" are false communist color revolutionary techniques to destroy the world and potentially depopulate the world by 2100 which is their long term goal. When you have to have most of the 11 billion people projected to being in the world this next century die, all means of death to the human race will be sold as some kind of solution. A final solution for sustainable earth but denying the nature of survival of the fittest being a fact in nature and the nature of energy work and energy loss both in physics and in nature. You can't progress when progress is some utopia primitive world in the past that never existed but is pushed out as a fantasy idea. But this is what Agenda 21 supposes.
