I think most of us are at least tempted to not to read the instruction. You do that for us and show us what will happen. If its a good product, other people will comment and say what you did wrong and how much they like theirs and then we will know. "Ease of Use" is a big selling point, so you show us all exactly how easy (or not) a product is to use. Keep up the great work!
This right here!!! You understand my style of testing. 🏆 Thank you for the thoughtful comment and for not following the crowd and repeating to same comment.
Vera Calvin it most certainly is! As most people who receive something like this don't know what they are doing either and very few bother with the user manual. Why do some people take my videos sooo seriously!! I mean...shit, my rating system are "Vivian Heads" and I never, ever read instructions, if that doesn't tell you that my videos are part comedy video+parody+real review... IF THIS APPLIES TO YOU, UNSUBSCRIBE! bye sexy 😘 #itsjustwhatido
I LOVE your videos..... they totally crack me up! And btw, I have two large air fryers and still haven't mastered them (or even came close),and I DID read the instructions! Lol!
a little lol.... reading stupid comments 😂 I'll just start blocking and deleting 😜 that way I can make sure they don't return. LMAO The funniest part is that most will come back every Sat morning to see what I've put up. They're HOOKED 😉
Secret Life of Vivian I love you and your videos! I never miss a review! You test things like I would at home and I don't think most people would master these things the first time. Keep up the awesome reviews and awesome personality!
Secret Life of Vivian guess I can't say, mine is same brand .. but different model .. on a different note .. I just bought the Gotham grill/griddle, can't wait to try it .. thank you
My sister has one and it makes the best chicken wings and fries lol I love it!! She FLOURS The wing and cooks them 12min on each side and they come out nice and crispy.
Vivian, I have one that I got last September I love it. You do need to honor the preheating instructions as it does make a huge difference and also you need to apply a very little bit of oil either by brushing it on or spraying. At least if you want the frying sensation.
"I have an oven right there!". My thoughts exactly. Although, if you have young cooks in the house, I'm thinking this might be a better option. Looks perfect for the kids. It's like an easy bake oven, but upgraded. Thanks so much. I appreciate your reviews.
I love my air fryer. I’m an unhealthy college student though so I use it for frozen French fries, curly fries, tater tots, mozzarella sticks.... it’s also great for warming up Popeyes fried chicken 😂 it’s awesome.
You remind of my daughter 😄 She never reads the destructions, lol. Then she has the nerve to say it doesn't work. No problem, just go back and read them and do a new video on it 😉
ROFL, Vivian head peeking out behind the cereal jar! You could move it around every video, like "Waldo". First to spot it gets a soggy sweet potato fry!
You remind me that the regular ladies (not to say that you are regular and not extraordinary) outshine even the most super of super stars. your beautiful and your potty mouth is hilarious LOL I love the show keep it up please
I don't know about the air fryer but I own a NuWave oven and I love it! It can do a form of air frying in its liner pan but it's worth it for everything else it can bake! Katie in upstate New York
We use our air fryer and it works great. Great for pizza snacks, nuggets, bbq chicken legs. Play with time and temperature , reduce temp and longer time sometimes works. Nice video
I accidently came across one of you videos two weeks ago.....watched... I subscribed. I absolutely love this. you are so right! not everyone reads the instructions!
I have the Oster air fryer that I got at Walmart for eighty bucks. It's not digital but I bake my fries on 400 degrees for 15 minutes and I lightly spray them with cooking spray and they always turn out crispy. I never preheat mine. Maybe this time the cheaper version is better. Lol
We have the Farberwarr one (tbh it’s the only way he’ll cook) it works really well! There was no way we were paying the 100 and up but I think in this case we won.
I'm with you, if I'm going to clutter up my kitchen and spend 💲...then it better do a bunch! When you've been cooking many years...you realize that all the gadgets that replace the stovetop and oven are usually a waste of space and money.
Thank you!!! I was considering purchasing one of these- now I won't waste my limited resources on it. As a retired/disabled person that has to watch every penny and every thing I eat to make sure I stick to my very limited dialysis diet I really
I got a fairly cheap black n decker one, and I love it. I find that almost everything cooks at 350 lol. I do preheat it. never use oil, and everything comes out crispy and nice. Ok...Brussels sprouts I do use a little oil and salt n pepper.. but everything else, great! Remember to shake the basket about halfway through for most things.
I don't read instructions either; I just wing it; flyin' by the seat of my big-ass pants! I use and totally get sarcastic wit, which is why I LOVE your videos!
I have a Farberware air fryer and it is amazing. If you making french fries from raw you need to cook them twice. Once at 360° for about 8-10min and again at 400° for 10-15min.
I have a unit that is 4 times that size, it is a toaster oven/baking oven/convection oven/rotisserie oven and it cost me $75, twelve years ago. I use it every day, sometimes twice a day, for breakfast/lunch or dinner.
My aunt has the phillips one she lets it pre heat and tosses the fries/ chicken in a little oil and carefully puts them in without getting the oil from the bottom of the bowl in the machine and they turn out pretty ok to me. Try tossing them in a little oil before putting them in and they should turn out pretty crisp. It also says to toss in a little oil in the instructions.
We have the Farberware ($60) and for fries we use a tbsp of oil and the fries are delicious! Sometimes the lower price is deceiving. We use our fryer the most when we have something in the oven already and during the summer
The wife and I love your reviews. They are done like people who would try these products in real life. How many of us read the instructions first? Your videos are very entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Do appreciate all the testing you do on the " time-labour saving devices" that are hawked on TV every day. Much appreciated and pleased to have found your channel the several months ago. Your opinion of the Brooklyn Brownie pan- copper baking pan with dividers to portion control would be very welcome. Although I suspect you may be copper-ed out of testing. I'd like to know if it really does give regular sized portions of baked goods that would allow a better controlled serving/ calourie option for those trying to loose weight. THANKS AGAIN!!
They also have a Gotham Air Fryer which I believe is made by the same company as the copper frying pan you like so much.. I think they just renamed it Gotham.
I love making chicken wings in it. All different kinds! Parmesan, hot, all kinds. Oh and you need to spray them with olive oil or something to get crispy! At least mine works with that.
I use my air fryer to make everything. When you make chicken and use flour egg and panko bread crumbs you get s crunchy crispy outside and a moist inside . Not dry and amazing. !!!!!! Heat your air fryer for 2 min on the highest setting. To warm it up. Get your thin chicken breast or tenders and dip in your flour then egg and into your seasoned panko crumbs, spray your air fryer with some type of non stick (I use coconut oil spray ) and pop it in for 11 min and it is crispy and delicious
I love watching you, and I completely get how you don't read the directions😂😂 Too funny. If you plan on keeping it, I would definitely read the directions though😂😂I have 2 Cooks Essentials air fryers and I'm thinking about getting a third one, a Delonghi. I use mine 4 times a week. The NuWave may be junk, I've never used that one before.
We have the Cook's Essentials air fryer, too, and I just love it! The only deviation from the instructions I take is when I do chicken splits - they need more time to cook thoroughly, not the machine's "fault", they're just really dense. But, otherwise, totally love ours!
These convection ovens are very good but they do take time to cook. They reduce the oils needed greatly. Della is a good brand without all the electronics and I'm an electronic gizmo guy. Set temp turn timer but they do also sell and gadget electronic addition. I understand the comedy but as a technician I would like to get to the nitty gritty as far as apples and oranges go. A little more understanding of the product will help us all to either Win or Fail with a product. A number of AS seen on TV products work because they follow the recommendations of the maker. Love to see you take this channel a notch higher. I'm here for the long haul.
Love your video's Vivian! Funny as hell, but at the same time you give a pretty darn good idea of what you can expect from the product! Keep em coming !
I get the reviews are not serious. I suggest a disclaimer as you claim the video is a review. The problem is your claims at the start of the video. I think it would be different if the product was simple like a knife. However, this product is obviously not meant to be intuitive. Reading the manual and giving a review which matches the gravity of your opening statements, is not too much to ask from a commercial endeavor.
I would LOVE to see more Dollar Tree products reviewed! That's the only place I really shop anymore. 😁 Thanks! I absolutely love your videos! I look forward to each one!
I have the Philips air fryer and yes pre heat.....It's the best for frozen snacks and fries....Oh and your doing it wrong :) I never did or would I try to cook meat in it.........But for fries, onion rings, pizza snack things and reheating Chinese egg rolls, dumplings and ribs it's the bomb! It's a little convection oven...It just blows around hot air super fast so you don't have to warm up your whole oven for little crap.
This is my first time watching you & you remind me of me when I purchase new gadgets for the kitchen. I didn't read the direction nor did I preheat it either haha the fries came out crispy after the 3rd time. I did other things while it cooked but it worked for me and for $15.00 I think that is a bargain. Continue to do what you do for us!!! Two thumbs up to you!!!
I'VE got a NINJA slow cooker that I bought at Walmart five years ago. Love it 😀 all I do is put my food in it set it for get and when time is up it turns off by itself!!!. .
2:47 There is absolutely no appliance that will cook chicken (or any other meat) faster than any other. If you put the same size chicken breast in the oven, it will take the same amount of time. You should never go into any AS SEEN ON TV purchase thinking it will save you on cooking time. It won't. The only thing this appliance will do for you is cook in a smaller space, meaning somewhat less to clean up in the end.
Let's do a time test - regular oven vs Convection oven. Wait, what's that you say? it's already been proven that convection ovens cook faster? Well how about a pressure cooker, surely chicken won't cook any faster in there than a normal oven. - oh wait - yes indeed it does. Well surely a microwave oven will not be any... Wrong again. how about a double contact grill - surely a chicken breast won't cook any faster on a double contact grill than inside the giant box of an oven. Well, what do you know - 4 appliances that will cook meat faster than a normal oven.
+Denean Doll : This is the place where you ask, does it cook _substantially faster?_ That is, is it half or a quarter of an oven or skillet time? The only two that you mention that cook _substantially faster_ are *pressure cookers* and *microwaves.* Even then, they leave the meat in a state that isn't always pleasant to eat. Pressure cookers leave pretty much everything mushy (including meat) with no way around it. Microwaves leave meat rubbery. That's not to say that pressure cookers and microwaves can't work for some foods. As for single vs double contact grills or convection ovens, I'm sorry, but 1-2 minutes faster doesn't exactly count as _substantially faster._ In some cases, convection ovens are no faster and have their own downsides and consequences (especially with baked goods). I've personally owned and used every one of the cooking technologies you've mentioned and the best way to cook the food is still in a regular oven or in a pan on the stove for the best end results. For example, cooking rice in 8 minutes in a pressure cooker seems nice until you realize it takes an extra 5 minutes to get the pressure cooker pressurized and 3-5 minutes to depressurize, thus killing any time gains you might have realized. Also, pressure cookers give you no way to stir the food. So, it's pretty much guaranteed to burn the pan-side portion of the rice when pressure cooking. It still takes preheating a convection oven the same amount of time as a regular oven, so there's absolutely no time gain for preheating. It's ironic how you simply chose to gloss right over the end food quality and the downsides from each of those _faster_ cooking methods. Sure, I can cook my food in an Easy Bake Oven too, but would I want to?
I have the power air fryer XL. My touch control is different and mine automatically starts after you pick your settings. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I Can't remember the brand but its AMAZING!! Mine is very different. We use it daily! Sometimes for EVERY meal. Mine makes Perfect crispy french fries and everything else. There's No pressure heating on mine at all. I just put in the food and wait for the beep its fast and cooks everything to perfection. I have a round shape basket. I think its just a difference in brands. When I bought mine they had 5 different models. I guess I picked a good one.
this is my first time seeing you, I originally came on to look for chicken in a rice cooker. and as I browsed I deviated and ended up here. let me just say, I LOVE YOU!!! You had me the moment you threw the instructions back in the box. I was like 😆, so cool! so I continued. and you're funny, real and down to earth. Thanks.
Pre heat the air fryer for 1o minutes.. But also spirit a little cooking spray on the fries and let it cook for a 15 minutes at 350 degrees and then take it out and check them. moving around and then spray a little more cooking spray on them and put it back in for another 15 minutes then they come out crispy that's what I have to do to fresh potato fries and same with Frozen potato fries with my air fryer
You have such a great sense of humor. I just discovered your channel yesterday and now I can't get enough. Keep them coming sweetie. BTW I don't know anyone who reads the instructions before they try to figure it out on there own.
we have one at home and it works great, I have taken frozen solid chicken breast and cooked it up in 25 minutes as a "quick" meal. Frozen fries cook up in about 8 minutes or so, nice amd crispy not soggy as you would get with a microwave or the oven
I've actually bought some goofy products based on your reviews. I guess I get you.... I don't know... All I know: is that I absolutely love watching you laugh! Total contagious you laugh I laugh videos. As for products,...I guess I figure if YOU can use something and it works, then it must work. However, I also know that when you use something and it doesn't work, maybe you didn't read the instructions. I don't know that I identify your sense of humor as sarcasm in the same way I view sarcasm. I just know that you are one really super entertaining woman who cracks me up. Thanks for being a really reliable source of so much fun. You are so much fun. Hope you keep doing this youtube thing.
I like my airfryer, but it's not for everyone. Basically, it's for people who oven fry a lot. It's the same exact thing, with the only difference being the basket and air circulation means you don't have to flip things continuously to get them evenly cooked. I make kale chips in my airfryer a lot. It's also handy for frozen foods--chicken tenders come out crispy on both sides instead of one crispy side and one soggy side because I don't flip them enough. It's not a time saver. It's going to take the same time in an airfryer as an oven. It's only easier in that there's less minding to do, which is helpful when you're cooking more than one dish. I can put potatoes in the airfryer, set it, and forget it until it dings--and concentrate on making whatever else I'm eating for dinner.
Girl! I’m with you 100% If it isn’t easy right out of the box and fast, helping to cut my time in half, it just ain’t worth it to me! $100 isn’t cheap, ESPECIALLY when you already have a perfectly good oven already right in yo damn kitchen 😂 Keep doing your reviews YOUR way, that’s what draws everybody to you. If you did it the way so many commenters want you to then it’d be boring...
Not sure if my previous comment was submitted, so here it is again: Gotham Steel has an air fryer too! Please review it. Here’s the edit I was going to do to the first one (if I found it): there’s two different setups for their air fryer... one digital and one analog, up to you which one you get ahold of and review! 💖
Learn how to use It to know If It works, This didn't show us that. Lol
Sweet potato fries do not get crispy no matter how long cooked
@@christinequinones4442 Even in restaurants, they are never crispy!
@@ghosty4 they are kinda krispy at Burger King
Its not a review if you don't know if you're using it correctly.
Read the directions, Vivian! !!!!!!!
Yet here you are still watching and still complaining 🤷🏽♀️
Vera Calvin it most certainly is! As most people who receive something like this don't know what they are doing either and very few bother with the user manual. I myself just try to figure it out and I don't read the book and I don't read the temperature guides and I seem to do fine and I could review it.
Too funny read the instructions girl
Who the fuck reads that shit???!!?!? 📑
not fair to judge a Gadget without reading the directions first
Bryce Scholl glad your the judge of fair. Good thing most of us are here because she’s entertaining regardless
Real & Bitchy yes and how many of us actually read the user manual and temperature guide? We don't! We just Dive Right In and learn how to use it as we go.
Who needs stinking directions?? lolol
Bryce Scholl. She should have unboxed it first
A little spray of oil first!!! Stir half way through. Chicken wings are sensational in the air fryer.

My new wave .. chicken cooks perfect but it's 13 minutes per pound of meat .. read your pamphlet
I cooked my little hen for way over 13 minutes and it was only 1lb. What did I do wrong?
Secret Life of Vivian guess I can't say, mine is same brand .. but different model .. on a different note .. I just bought the Gotham grill/griddle, can't wait to try it .. thank you

Why not just read the instructions?
Nikki Barone because then this wouldn’t be fun to watch and she wouldn’t be relatable!!
Amber Scida relatable really?
Because she air-fried them, silly. They were blan and chewy....kind of a wordy aftertaste. 🐴
Nikki Barone not on brand! She’s funny!
Yeap, No point In wasting thousands Vivian..... Bc If she's doen this non review once on camera, We all know she does It on her own time too. Lol

😄
We just recently bought it and it did a great job even though we had to cook it twice but it did the job
Read. The. Directions. I love mine!!
👍
We have the Philips air fryer xl, and we love it. Use it almost ever day. It's quick fast and always great results. Cleans easily to.
I'm thinking about getting the Philips one instead. Thanks
Try a convection oven, one with a turn timer and temperature knob.ones with the glass bowl have worked best for me.
I agree👍
Thank you!!! I was considering purchasing one of these- now I won't waste my limited resources on it. As a retired/disabled person that has to watch every penny and every thing I eat to make sure I stick to my very limited dialysis diet I really
you're welcome
My Air Fryer Works Beautifully.
Witch one do you have?
What brand do YOU have? How much?
I think you are suppose to spray a little bit of oil on the potatoes. The oil will get very hot and provide that "fried" taste. Try it again?
The sugar content of a sweet potato is too high to get a real crisp fry.
I’ve done it before.
Actually the opposite is true, the sugar helps them get extra crispy!
I got a fairly cheap black n decker one, and I love it. I find that almost everything cooks at 350 lol. I do preheat it. never use oil, and everything comes out crispy and nice. 😍 You Get Me 😭😆 ❤ thank you
We have had our air frier for a couple years love it. THE GUYS use it no problem.
I wonder if it has to be in a single layer, so that they get crispy...🤷🏽♀️
This has been my experience, and I think it's because they release steam as they cook, so the fries on upper layers will get steamed and soft
Single layer and a light coating of oil, as well as pre-heating and tossing about half way through cooking time.
That was my first thought. It was too much.
I have a Farberware air fryer and it is amazing. If you making french fries from raw you need to cook them twice. Once at 360° for about 8-10min and again at 400° for 10-15min.
This explains her excitement and how impressed she was when she reviewed the Ninja Foodie 😂😂😂
I love my air fryer cooking and every day I don't have to use my stove anymore unless I'm bacon LOL
Air fryers Only minimizes the amount of oil normally used, with more flavor.
yah still need oil
I have a unit that is 4 times that size, it is a toaster oven/baking oven/convection oven/rotisserie oven and it cost me $75, twelve years ago. I use it every day, sometimes twice a day, for breakfast/lunch or dinner.

I have this air fryer and I love it I use it all the time .
Great item READ THE Instructions!!!!! We cook everything we can in it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have one & love it. Cooking French fries has never been easier.
Not reading instructions, just like my hubby😂😂😂
I love how everyone is screaming to read the instructions! They don't know you like we do! 😂😂😂 #whodoesthat
YAAS! They got lost on the internet and thought this was the QVC channel. 😆😆
😂😂😂😂 who really reads the instructions anyways?
lol I like qvc though...I order stuff there all the time.

I did the samething when i got my airfryer!! Yea, im a chef, i dont need instructions!
U sound like me “was I suppose to pre heat this thing” lol
I crack up when the word fuck slips out. Lol. This chick is cool.
Great content. Keep it up!
thanks
What I like about em is they're fast yet way better tasting than microwave.

I have the new Paula Deen 8.5 qt air fryer. I reall enjoy it. This is $150 from evine.
Why do you need 3?
These convection ovens are very good but they do take time to cook. They reduce the oils needed greatly. Della is a good brand without all the electronics and I'm an electronic gizmo guy. Set temp turn timer but they do also sell and gadget electronic addition. I understand the comedy but as a technician I would like to get to the nitty gritty as far as apples and oranges go. A little more understanding of the product will help us all to either Win or Fail with a product. A number of AS seen on TV products work because they follow the recommendations of the maker. Love to see you take this channel a notch higher. I'm here for the long haul.
Love the way you threw the instructions back into the box.....winging it, your a trip!!!
thanks Milton. I'm glad you get my humor
Love it! That’s so me when I am excited to use a new appliance 🤣😂
Love your video's Vivian! Funny as hell, but at the same time you give a pretty darn good idea of what you can expect from the product! Keep em coming !
Thanks :)
I appreciate the feedback, Todd. You can stay 😉
I would LOVE to see more Dollar Tree products reviewed! That's the only place I really shop anymore. 😁
Thanks! I absolutely love your videos! I look forward to each one!
I love your personality
I have the Power Aie Fryer XL and we love it. It has completely replaced our deep fryer.
I have the Philips air fryer and yes pre heat.....It's the best for frozen snacks and fries....Oh and your doing it wrong :)
I never did or would I try to cook meat in it.........But for fries, onion rings, pizza snack things and reheating Chinese egg rolls, dumplings and ribs it's the bomb!
It's a little convection oven...It just blows around hot air super fast so you don't have to warm up your whole oven for little crap.
😂 thanks!
Very cute video though...you have a new fan :)
Bobby You Tube must be nice to have money to be able to buy something for a 100 $ just to cook junk foods for your kids.
I love that you said you would not cook meat in it, yet you would heat ribs in it.
I’d much rather use a gadget than double my electric use with the oven
+abigguitar you're right!
Thanks.
😊 thank you Racquel! I'm happy you found me 😘
Pre heat the air fryer for 1o minutes..
I literally smelled sweet potato when she opened it 🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😨😨😨🤯
😂
Roflmao
You have such a great sense of humor. I just discovered your channel yesterday and now I can't get enough. Keep them coming sweetie. BTW I don't know anyone who reads the instructions before they try to figure it out on there own.
maybe just layer the fries instead of clumping them together
+Cynthia Harrelson okay, thanks Cynthia
we have one at home and it works great, I have taken frozen solid chicken breast and cooked it up in 25 minutes as a "quick" meal.
+liz Haddad 😘Liz! 💝 made my night. Thank you
I like my airfryer, but it's not for everyone.
+dhrachth1 thanks. I appreciate the comment
How does she not have more than 3 million followers she’s an amazing youtuber better than most popular RUclipsrs out there just being honest
+Michael Chavez 😊thank you. I'm working on it 🙂
You need your own show on T.V. You are very entertaining and I like that you try stuff before I waste my money on them. Aloha from your Hawaii fan!!!
I have a Power Fryer XL and I love it. I fix a lot of stuff in there. Nice to not have to heat up the oven for a few things.
I enjoy your videos because you keep it real, as if I'm gonna read the directions myself😏 Everything should be easy and good to go right out the box.
+glantrider Thank you for the honest comment 👍🏻
Not sure if my previous comment was submitted, so here it is again: Gotham Steel has an air fryer too! Please review it. Here’s the edit I was going to do to the first one (if I found it): there’s two different setups for their air fryer... one digital and one analog, up to you which one you get ahold of and review! 💖
Mine works just fine, I will not praise it, or hate it....but whatever the damn thing works. .
This video was so funny Vivian comedy gold
You can still be funny but good God read the directions b4 you tape. It might make your videos a little bit better, funny and informative.
got it. thanks
Finally I asked for this for Christmas... Now I can see if I meet to quickly change my mind thank you!
She should do a collab with grav3yardgirl
i agree :)
Lpj_is_ Kool I agree I watch them both and love them both.
That would be a riot!!!
Lpj_is_ Kool no
Oh hell no. Bunny has gotten rediculously stupid
Not sure I would call that a review but you were hilarious and entertaining. Do you girl.
