      I've always said that working in my yard and gardening are the best physical and psycho therapies I know of.. plus the extra vitamin D helps keep away the dullsies... SAD is a real thing to me and more than 2 days inside is way too much.... don't even have to go to the gym now either... saving monies all the way around... home grown veggies and fruits much better than store bought...got my love of gardening from my mom and grandmother, and glad to say both my girls now enjoy it as well.... pass it on...

    i am using up the old fertilizers i've had in my stash, and completely switching to espoma and proven winners products.. when i started using the Biotone in my garden, it became a game-changer... it is rare that i lose a plant these days during the initial planting phase, and i'm now a loyal customer... PW plants have proven their quality to me time and time again, as well.. and even tho i can't get them as often as i'd like, i purchase them when i see them and even order online (gotta have some limoncellos!) so feel like their products will be the same high quality (and i trust your advice!) ... you have taught me so much more about gardening in general; not just about plants, but maintenance and care of them as well... thanks for the video!!

    When you put out your galvanized planter planting video I loved it so much I basically went out immediately and bought almost all the same plants and planted my own large galvanized planter that I have in my backyard. Mine still looks almost exactly the same as it did the day I planted it sadly while yours is giant and lush. I live in Western Oregon and it definitely shows me the difference in growing seasons where we have had basically no sun and are continuing to have daily rain the entire time. I see all these videos from people who live in more sunny climates who already have so many things blooming in their yard. My flower garden is only the beginning stages of putting on growth and not many flowers...that all starts to happen in July here and then sadly comes to a fast close sometime in September when the overcast and rain come back. I've definitely learned more from your channel channel about incorporating fall and winter interest. I am makingan effort to do that this year since we have such a short growing season in Portland.

    I just can’t believe you’re still fertilizing everything individually! That has got to be exhausting! This year I upgraded to a fertilizer injector that I can use through the drip system, and it has made a huge difference. It’s so much easier and it actually gets done! Once a week I go dump the right amount of water soluble fertilizer into the injector tank, and it gets mixed in and delivered with the next drip cycle or two. As the tank empties, it reverts to plain water, and I don’t have to mess with it again until the next week.

      Jake Jones I use a Chapin system with quick connects attached so it’s easy to move from zone to zone if necessary, but there are many different styles and functions to meet any need. It’s absolutely a game changer to be able to fertilize so easily. It took about half an hour to read the directions and get it set up. www.amazon.com/dp/B07HR72KZB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_m1V5EbPV0BF3M

    Hi Laura, I love your videos you always give great advice . Here is a tip for easy application of the granular fertilizer wash out a laundry detergent bottle or fabric softener bottle make sure it's dry...lol and put your fertilizer in it plus most caps are about a 1/4 to a 1/2 cup if you need to measure it. ❤💐🌷

    No questions, just a thank you! Between this video and the Espoma-explained video, it's like I just took a class...and it's a free one! I've often wondered how you get such performance from your gardens. When you said you expect them to act like Olympic athletes it fell into place. We can't just plant and water. We have to follow through with consistent nutrients. It makes sense now.

    I had never heard of those products before until you. I bought them ASAP and so far they have worked sooo well! Watching my husband try to figure out what that smell was when he walked out was hilarious. I told him it was the smell of success...he doesn’t think so 🤣 Unfortunately the bio tone starter isn’t available to me here yet. I noticed that PW isn’t available around here either but hopefully that will change. I’ve got a black lace elderberry that I grabbed as soon as I noticed the pot haha but so far that has been the only PW plant that I’ve seen ☹️. Your channel is the only once I’ve seen that makes it so easy to know what to fertilize with and how often. I’ve learned so much watching you and Aaron. Thanks for all your advice! Thanks to you, I’m a believer in espoma now! It turned my thumb green finally! 😂

    Laura, your video is the reason I am using bio tone starter! I love it. The only issue I have is I can’t find it locally, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Ace, tractor supply, Walmart, target, or any store near Cartersville GA. My garden center Pikes has it but they are too far from me. I found it on Amazon but only in smaller bags, and I use a lot since we moved into a new home last year. Espoma needs to service rural Georgia with their excellent product and give a big thankyou to Garden Answer. Thanks Laura for your education, you have a plethora of garden answers.

    Laura I use so many Espoma fertilizers. I use the Bulb-tone because I have so many bulbs. Citrus-tone for all my citrus trees.. The list goes on. All though I do use Bio=tone the most and you have sold me on Proven Winners slow release and the water soluble.

    Yes, very helpful. Thanks for the review again. I guess I didn’t realize PWs was not organic. But like you, I agree it’s not as important to me for flowers. Edibles, yes. And pest control, yes I want organic. Great video. Thanks so much. 👏🏻💕👏🏻

    SUPER HELPFUL INFORMATION. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge. I now use bio-tone when starting a new container, many thanks. I have got to get better about keeping up with fertilizing though. I will probably use the one by Proven Winners , I'm older now and I just don't have the energy, but I know that what I put into it I will get back by the plants beauty. Thank you so much.

    Laura, you are so inspiring! My plants look better than ever this season because I have learned so much from your videos. I have a couple of questions: Is it possible to use too much fertilizer and if so how would I know? What would over fertilized plants look like? How do I keep my container annuals looking good all summer? As we are getting into the hot, hot, humid time of the season my flowers tend to “poop out”. Should I be cutting them back? What should I do? Does your advice for weekly feeding of annuals apply to blooming perennials (like coral bells)? Thanks so much. Keep up the good work!

    • @GrowingInTheCity
      @GrowingInTheCity 4 года назад +1

      Organic fertilizers need to be broken down by microbes and other life in your soil, so its pretty difficult to "burn" plants with organic granular fertilizers. I usually scale down from what the directions suggest, especially since i fertilize regularly throughout the spring/summer. Good luck with heat - its hot here too!

    Thank you Laura! I have been waiting for this!!!! I lnow its simple, but it just really helps to have you reiterate the process step by step for me. Frustratingly I can't find a lot of the Espoma or Proven Winners supplies here in the Eugene area. The only store I have ever seen the Biotone in was Ace Hardware (clear on the other side of town) & all they have are little bags of it. So it's quite spendy when you have to purchase several 5 lb bags at a time.😕

    Living in Las Vegas, Nevada, I haven’t found Espinosa products or too many proven winners plants. We have Star Nursery and Moon Valley which both have their own Southwest fertilizers. I was going to fertilize every 2 weeks but sounds like I should do monthly! I’m having problems with bloom end rot and have used several home made remedies. Over 1 week I tried from the refrigerator, First plain milk, freeze dried milk, and egg shell powder and lastly egg shells. The layered strategy appears to have worked as new fruit does not have the problem. Thanks for the videos! Where’s Russell???
