Huw, you've created another beautiful video, thank you for capturing the feel of my garden so exquisitely. And thank you to your viewers for the kind and encouraging comments. I need to apologise for an error and for misinforming viewers. Earl Grey tea is made using the oil from a Bergamot orange. As I've said so many times - with gardening I learn something new every single day!
Your garden is amazing! Thank you for sharing it, I have now found names of many flowers 💐 I can use in my garden! ❤ specially bergamot, I use a bergamot oil for my hair to grow 😅 and now I can have the plant as well 🎉
Lovely garden, I just love your approach 🌿. Herbs are beyond important for health. Your passion for flowers and herbs makes me want to suggest a novel called The Language of Flowers written by Vanessa Diffenbaugh.
A long time ago when I was just a boy, I'd often ride my bike, sometimes with a couple of friends, to my grandmother's house. She would inevitably have us doing some garden chores for her under supervision, of course. We'd mow, weed, prune, turn the compost, carry things here and there, whatever Gran would request. We'd be rewarded with (my favourite) a corned beef and salad sandwich, a glass of milk and her legendary Anzac biscuits for lunch. The sandwiches were almost always 'spiced' up with nasturtium leaves. I loved my gran, not just for her warm smiles, hugs, corned beef and sandwiches, Anzac biscuits, but also for instilling a love of gardening.
I am Dutch and our main dish here is kale stew. We cook kale with potatoes together and a bit of salt. After 25 minutes you poor the water out and stamp the kale and potatoes together with butter and you have a wonderfull tasty ‘ stamppot’ as we call it. We eat it with fried bacon and a smoked sausage. Delicious in the winter.
I absolutely love Liz’s garden and her gardening style. I had no idea her garden was 1) that young, and 2) had so many gorgeous flowers! She looks truly radiant in her garden.. so peaceful, so contented. It’s inspiring to see, so thank you for sharing such a beautiful video.
Beautiful! And such a soothing and inspiring video. Thank you, Huw. Learned so much from Liz in this clip. Off to dry some calendula leaves. It is the only thing growing well in my garden-and I really appreciate it now!
I find gardening therapeutic. In 2020 when we were told to work from home I realised my garden was non existent except for a few plants. I said to my son from next year 2021 our garden will always be in full bloom and popping. I have never looked back since!
such a lovely lady, loved hearing her talk about the flowers, here I was thinking id only want to grow veggies in the future but it seems as though she lit a match for me that I never knew was even there. Thank you so much
Just watching and listening to you in your wonderful garden is so relaxing and visually a feast for the senses! Thank you for your beautiful garden and the very interesting information you provide. Kerry, Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Liz is a huuuuge inspiration for me. I just found out I'm going to be getting a house I've been trying to buy. Moving in 5 December and immediately getting cracking with garden beds (down in Australia so early summer here). There will be a tonne of flowers sprinkled throughout the veg beds 😻😍
I love Liz’s garden, her approach to life and gardening, and her kind, gentle nature. It’s also lovely to see Huw and Liz gardening or chatting together (in other videos). Liz and Huw are two of my favourite gardeners. Thanks x 👩🌾🪴🌺🌸
@@judifarrington9461 oh my! Your last name is the same as my mother's maiden name. She was born in Canada. Nice to know that there are still some Farringtons out there. Blessings on your day Kiddo!😊🌻🐛
These Videos are Inspiring Millions of People around the World!! The Topic gives people Hope for a Better Future for people and the Planet! Thanks lot Huw Richards!
I really enjoy seeing videos like this. You can't beat home grown food picked and eaten fresh. It amazes me how more people aren't interested in growing their own food. I show people my 5 year old food forest and they are always amazed by the taste of the food, but they never consider growing their own!
Not kidding, this is only two weeks old and I've watched this billions of times. She seems like the type of person, I'd love to hang out with and her garden is gorgeous. Plus, the video is so aestheticly pleasing. Thank you for this.
Kale recipe from Kenya 1. Chop the kale VERY thin (use a veggie chopper) 2. Put oil in the pot, add chopped onion 3. Add diced beef (optional) and let it cook 4. Add the kale and beef stock (tiny bit) and cook for 5 minutes 5. Add tomatoes 6. When tomatoes is soft remove from heat Eat with rice and serve with avocado
This one teared me up. The way she said 'it's my garden' with such pride. I beamed just watching her. Oh, I never thought of putting flowers in the garden beds. Brilliant. Inspiring. I will be doing my own take on this one. It'll just make the garden even more enticing for the children, especially the edible flower! I think this has been my favourite of the series.
Wow, as someone whose first love is growing pollinator-friendly flowers (vegetables are secondary for me, happy if they grow but I'm ecstatic when I see my annuals bloom) this was perfect. What Liz said about growing plants for their scent and the sensory experience really got me thinking. Thanks so much to Liz and Huw for sharing this
What a gorgeous video. That gardener could do a phenomenal kids' show- she's warm, knowledgeable, calm and soothing. I'd love to see more videos like this! Lovely garden and lovely person.
Thank you for not only the beauty of your lovely garden but the botanical benefits and culinary uses and how our interaction with nature is how we have balance and harmony in the earth.
I would follow any advice this gardener shared with me. She seems to be that amazing neighbor who quietly and confidently shares garden wisdom, a recipe or two and extra plant cuttings to friendly neighbors. When was the last time you've seen anyone spend 11:44 minutes whose only focus was on the topic at hand and not a commercial for their own marketing. LOVE her!
What a beautifully shot and edited video. I'm just stunned at how gorgeous Liz's garden is, but also how many times Liz refers to flowers existing there _because she loves them_ which couldn't be a more poignant statement about gardens. Growing, creating and love all spring from the same well.
Thank you for your regular visits with Liz. She's just a gem, and I've loved watching her grow as she grows her gardens. Her gardens are down to earth and beautiful!
When we started our homestead the first thing I did is put in the flower garden to bring the life back to the farm that had been commercially farmed for nearly 40 years. It was amazing to see the life come back from a barren monoculture.
What a beautiful and colorful garden! I liked her honesty about kale (haha), when she spoke about Agastache, the ducks quacking in the back, so much valuable bits of info in so little time ... this is all so very inspiring.
Wowww this garden is so beautiful! As someone who lives in the city my whole life, this garden is a dream, and the owners must have pit sooo much love and care into it everyday. So beautiful!
What a breathtakingly beautiful video! It was a pleasure visiting Liz this summer and what she's created in such a short time is incredible. Can't wait to see how it develops over the years :) Also, the agastache (Korean mint) is a fab replacement for coriander in dishes. Love a flower with edible uses 💐
Me: oh, I'm looking forward to Huw showing us a new garden! Oh it's Liz! Double win 😍 I started a new garden in April of this year and also intentionally included lots of flowers for the first time. Used to mainly focus on veggies before. I absolutely loved the garden this first summer! There was always something beautiful to look at while waiting for the veggies to grow. I will definitely continue this in years to come 💐
Inspiring. I've saved it to my watch list to view during the long, dark months of winter, here in Wisconsin. Thank you for capturing the beauty of gardening!
