Honestly, it felt like Christmas morning opening up all those jugs. I work with special needs children with various abilities. Most of them come from low income families. This form of gardening really provides beautiful opportunities for them....joy in gardening can be available for everyone and not just the privileged. Nice job!!! 💚🌱
I've been watching your channel since you were at your other house and 99% of your videos were easily under ten minutes. It is so interesting when you apologize for "long" videos. Even though your videos have slowly gotten longer you are getting zero complaints from your faithful followers! We all just keep eating them up! It doesn't matter if they are 45 minutes or longer. Anything you throw our way, we will take. Thank you for all of the work you are doing. Even though we are in a hard time, you (with Aaron and helpers!) keep cranking out videos and spreading sunshine with your lovely, cheerful personality and enthusiasm for gardening. You are serving a world wide community. Thank you! 💐🌷🌸🌻🌺💟🌞
I agree. If for some reason I’m not able to watch the entire video in one setting, I simply finish watching the rest later, which works well,. Plus I really look forward to watching part two!
I agreed with Rita's Sewing Haven's comment. You're constantly saying and doing things that as value to the content where others drag out videos with repetition, music, or added chunks of stuff not related to topic we came to see.
Thank you for showing your successes and failures! When all you see are people’s healthy growth from seed instead of the good and the bad it can be discouraging. After watching your video, I’m encouraged that my attempts are not complete failures.
Yes agreed when your still new like i am to gardening and you cant run to grandma for help seeing others struggling and successes are really important to help learn from
I’ve grown plants using jugs for years. I bet much of your jug’s poor performance was from your direct watering, or inconsistent watering. I use a large plastic sweater box and simply set the jugs in a few inches of water for a few minutes, watering from below. Works a treat and I get much better success.
I did something similar, I had a plastic bin catching rainwater and I’d just sit them in there if I noticed them drying. Since I’ve set them all in a cold frame and they’re still maintaining moisture. Hopefully. Haven’t checked in a couple days lol
This was my first year trying WS, I sat mine in large containers to soak cup from below too and it worked pretty good for me. I will do it again as I do not have space inside or grow lights.
Another tip: I grow literally thousands of seedlings in the amazing Gardener’s Supply seed starter trays Laura highlighted. This year, it’ll be about 2,300 plants. The 24 cell trays, with water reservoir, wicking mat and humidity domes, are brilliant. I have quite a few of Gardener’s Supply three tier grow light set ups, and they’re amazing, as well. I grow several rotations of seeds in these. But I use the jug method to practically double my plant production. They’re great for any seeds -hardy annual, the odd vegetable that requires some cold, like artichokes, or perennials- that require a period of vernalization, or winter cold, to germinate. In the jugs, I sow quite thickly and set a group of eight jugs without their plastic caps in a cheap plastic under-the-bed sweater box; I bought ten of these boxes on sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond for just a few dollars and I drill about ten small holes in each one. Not only does this make them easy to move around, but on the rare occasion when I do need to water the soil in the jugs, I just fill the sweater boxes up with water. The jugs soak up what they need and the excess drains slowly out of the sweater box’s holes so nothing is sitting in water for more than a few minutes. In my zone 6 area, I only need to water them once or twice a winter. Once the air temp hits 60 degrees, I open the jugs during the day, closing them at night. When I’m ready to pot up, I cut the jugs’ sides and simply slide out the thick mass of soil and seedlings out of the jugs like a pan of brownies, slice it up with an old bread knife, and repot the tiny “brownies”. I sow about 50 jugs each December/January and thus am able to almost double my plant production beyond what my five 3-tiered grow light racks, each holding 15 trays and replanted twice, can handle. It’s a brilliant tool and some plants actually do better in the jugs than in a perfectly controlled grow light set up! Do try it, it’s such an inexpensive way to grow a ton of fresh plants!
I am a greenhouse consultant and I have to say it's amazing when I run into people in the greenhouse that are new gardeners and they tell me the thousands that they've spent or the hundreds that they've spent and been unsuccessful and when I start sharing the basic things like, you can use any container to grow anything in and as far as the medium and all that everything doesn't have to be a fortune then they come back and tell me about their success and they are so happy and feel so accomplished. A lot of people are not like you are they want to sell them expensive things that they make money off of themselves. If somebody is a new Gardener it's just confusing to them. If you start them out with the basics like you are on these and explain things and show them , it's not so overwhelming and they can learn on their own as they go along and get experience by doing. ✌️🌱
You had so much fun that you lost track of time! But I LOVE LOVE LOVE nearly 40 min videos. I stopped. Played. Paused. Screen captured. Played. Learned. Smiled. Got excited for the acres of beautiful pollinating blooms!!! An absolute fun video. And dont compare yourself to other people!!! U put us to shame. Lol.
Laura, FYI, when you mentioned mealy bugs on the artichoke plants my first question that came to my mind was if they where in close proximity to succulents. Well, when you were giving the tour, my questioned was answered because I noticed they are right next to the bowl with all those succulents. Many years ago, I read in a very old gardeners almanac, that mealy bugs are attracted by succulents. However, the darn critters don't end up on the succulents, but rather on other plants around them. Needless to say, I had first hand experience with these bugs a couple years back. I had the most beautiful collection of moth orchids. One day, I purchased a couple of succulents, forgetting what I had read in the almanac, I placed those darn succulents next to my beloved orchids--within weeks I had an infestation of mealy bugs on my orchids!! I was so mad I couldn't throw those succulents in the trash fast enough!! I managed to save a few of my orchids. Needless to say, after that incident, I have never again had a mealy problem...knock on wood! I have to say that I stay away from succulents now! Sorry for such a lengthy FYI.
No thats a very good FYI. I love the look of succulents but can never get myself to buy them i live in a desert environment. But with my garden i had a horrible experience with caterpillar and white flys and inside with Fingal gnats. Reading this makes me reconsider my want for a succulent for sure.
Just wanted to say that I'm glad you didnt break it up into two videos! I love longer gardening videos. They keep me relaxed while I clean around the house
I sit and take some notes while listening. I love the way to have the photos of the plants! If I'm looking for certain colors it really helps me because I have very little knowledge of most plants. I stick to daisies, hosta, and a few others. I look for flowers and they are gone with no restock in sight! 😢You have given me the courage to go beyond them and love my garden and yard. Thanks so much 😊
Your videos can never be too long 😊 I'm in Melbourne Australia and I've just potted up my foxgloves too and I can't wait for spring to plant a lot of my flower seedling. My mum and I obsess over your videos and will often call each other to talk about what "Laura" is planting. You have definitely made us both up our flower game. We appreciate all the content you and Aaron (and Benjamin, Russell and Cheddar) put out..happy planting 🌱 PS, my son is 4 years old and will turn the tv on and put "Waura" on and tell me to come sit down and watch you 😍
I really like how you put the finished picture of the plants up on screen as you are showing the seedlings! It's really helpful! Thank-you for all the inspiration you give! 😊 I've been starting some seeds with a grow light inside.. It's soo exciting!! My problem tho is leggy plants even tho I have a light right over them. What am I doing wrong? And no it's fine, we love long videos!!
Sarah S. I thought mine were a little leggy last year so this year I increased the length of time my grow lights from 12 to 14 hours and I got a fan going. My fan is hooked up to the timer for my grow lights. I wonder if leggy plants happen more easily with certain plants? Good luck.
I was so glad to see that you were growing the Nicotinia Peace Pipe (or Woodland Tobacco). This is one I said you needed for your Moon Garden. They are majastic! Super Tall w/ really long tubular white flowers. Warning though, the leaves do smell like tobacco & can be sticky when handled. So when you go to pull them up in the Fall make sure to wear gloves. I always let mine go to see before I discard for the year. They drop so many seeds that you will have dozens of new plants volunteer for you next Spring. As w/ my Foxgloves, if the volunteers don't come up where I want (like the front of the border instead of the back, I always dig them up & move them. They handle it really well). Also, if you dead head the flower stocks before the seed head pops, you can lay them out on news paper until they do & collect all of the hundreds of seeds you will get off just that one stock!
I love your videos no matter how long they are 5 minutes 1hour my daughter and I always look forward to watching everyday!!! I've been watching for a few years now and you have really inspired me to start seeds. I've always been really nervous about it but we are trying this year with some luck! I'm pretty excited about this growing season!
You were saying how you found stinging nettle in one of your bottles and hay racks, I’m sure you know this but I have found over the years if I purchase bulk wood mulch from a landscaping co. Eventually I end up with so many different weed but mainly any weed that produces those little whisker seeds ( they look like the seed from milkweed) they blow through the air and get caught on the wood mulch from the landscaping nursery and also the mulch I’ve put down🥴🥴🥴). It’s pretty pricey to purchase bagged mulch but I have noticed it lasts longer without weeds then the bulk. IMPO🥰🥰❤️❤️love you, you and Aaron have given so much info to even the experienced gardeners👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️
I love this comment so much I had to show it to my husband, I’ve been telling him for years “when we lived in our old house we never had a problem with the nettle seed because we used bags of mulch” so since we moved to our new house and started using bulk mulch from the landscaping companies every year I’m digging these little buggers out!!! Where there’s one there’s more😡😡😡 well worth purchasing bagged mulch👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Can I just say your videos are getting me through quarantine? I've always loved your videos. They've pretty much taught me anything I know about gardening but, they are life right now!
Love your longer videos. I get to have a cup of coffee/tea and enjoy my time, almost like visiting with a friend. Never apologize for your longer videos. :)
These videos are so great! There's so much information in each one and the video quality and close-ups really help the novice gardener, like myself. I'm glad RUclips brought me here. I'm always watching the British garden shows here since there's nothing like it that I've found in the States. I'm also a zone 5 so this is so exciting!
@@rebeccaschulz2212 I watched Big Dreams, Small Spaces on Netflix a long time ago and I don't think it's on there anymore, but that involved amateur gardeners also. Monty Don was the host so I've just looked up any show that he is involved with. There's a 10 hour video of the Great British Garden Revival series. I've only watched 2 episodes, but it has lots of info. There's also Garden Rescue that isn't great for tips, but good to get an idea of garden design.
I've just discovered this channel, I'm in Britain and have watched all this year's British gardening programmes (Gardeners' Word, Beechgrove ...), searched on here and found this channel! Have you watched anything Carol Klein does? She's so infectiously enthusiastic about plants, rather like Laura!
You need your green house! 😉🥰. My problem is this time every year I ALWAYS jump the gun on planting. Small time back yard gardener. You’d think I’d learn my lesson and wait. NOPE! 🤣🤣🤣🤪. I need a green house too. 🥰
My goodness 😍 love the long video stuffed full of great info! We live vicariously through you by your superb editing. Also I learn so much from the content of people's comments, thanks to all of my fellow gardeners!
If you have another dry winter, put the jugs in a large baking type pan of some sort and fill that with water so the seeds/plants can get watered from below.
Hi Laura, thank you for teaching me almost everything I know about gardening. Watching your videos has been a priceless education for which I’ll be forever thankful. I have a bag of California poppy seeds I’ve had for probably 10 years and last year I direct sowed them and they came up beautifully so I think you’ll still have luck with the ones you said you’ve had for years.🥰
This lady is the best of America; she restores your respect for all things American and is genuinely lovely, and her husband knows it. A real person. What an ambassador.
I used the large rectangular clear salad containers for my winter sowing, they worked great. Just needed to add holes in the top and bottom and soak off any label. Also, do you ever pinch off the flowers on your tomato and pepper plants until you put them outside? I read it helps the plant out energy into a strong root system. I tried last year and my plants were really healthy. Once they’re outside you can stop. I also planted a lot of straw flowers this year too!!
Love the longer videos, Laura. Start to finish on a project makes things clearer to me. When I want info I want it now, hate waiting. Nights are still pretty cool in Minnesota so haven't done much yet but my bloomerang and limelights are leaving out, boomerangs are coming along very fast and will be moving one of them to the alley fence to screen it a bit more. That will give me a nice screen of lilac, hydrangea and rhododendron. Will be moving and splitting my yellow peony into 4 plants also since it's way to crowded where it is. Will keep 2 and give away 2. My yard seems to be ideal for peonies as was my parents yard just down the block.
Laura, I love it when your videos are a bit longer! I need my plant fix!! You are it my dear! Thanks for are the great info you always give us! You ROCK!
I have a few reasons why I love your channel. One of them is seeing our "weeds" or "boring plants" being started from seed or planted in prime garden spaces. Coleus here is grown for medicinal properties, love in a puff and gomphrena are THUGS. We pick lantana flowers along the side walk and throw them like we're flower girls. Caladiums are everywhere in my grandmas yard amd along side walks too. And we eat a lot of sweet potato vine. I just love learning from you and passing it on to my grandma. So i guess uhmn THANK YOU!!!
Laura shows off her tiny spade and I glance over at the lonely unmatched fork I took from my kitchen jammed in an empty cell on my seedling tray. It actually works just as well, but I must admit the spade looks a lot classier. 😅
Laura, you don’t ever need to apologize for a long video, I did my walking routine while watching and was happy to multitask. Here in Michigan, my wintersown seeds are still growing. No need to water as we’ve had plenty of snow and rain. Our last frost date is end of May, so I need to wait awhile to see real progress. Thanks for all your tips.
Winter sowing is fun. They look wetter than mine did in previous years, but i rarely watered. Very nice overall yours are. Next year keep a eye @ avoiding big pot shadows etc. Sweet the indoors plant starts also! Edit addon. Long vid worked well! Heh took you with me, ya kept me company while morning todo's. Be well.
I’ve been waiting for this one! I wanted to see how those jugs were doing and they did not disappoint! I’ll have to try that next year! Also very jealous of your grow room! All of my kids take up the rooms in the house so I can’t have one but maybe one day I will. All of your seedlings look amazing though and I love the long video!
Laura, please don’t feel this was too long. It was great. Next season I am definitely going to do the outside water containers. Every time you talk about the new cut garden I get so excited! 🌻🌼🌸🌺💐
Love your honesty and excitement about gardening. I enjoy hearing about your succeses as well as the let downs. Keep up the great work . Thank you for sharing your passion with us. I look forward to seeing more videos.
Well, you inspired me! I started my tomatoes this year from seed. It's been fun to start from "the beginning". Can't wait to see updates on the new land and see how your current driveway changes as you develop the new area. All great stuff. Don't ever worry that your video is too long. I love everything you do.
My daughter Reagan and I enjoyed watching you reveal the milk jug seedlings. We started seeds awhile ago and have recently replanted them in separate containers because they were growing so big! We love your videos!
Can't wait to see the end results of all the flowers! I learned a lot in this video. May attempt on a much smaller scale. Nothing like getting your hands dirty and watch seeds sprout and grow. :D
Hi Laura, I don't mind the long video at all. I really do like them - your content is great! With your Canna seeds, they germinate quicker with scarification. I use a thick coarse emeryboard. I rub an area until I see just a bit of white and sometime I also soak the scraped seeds. Yours may still germinate - it just takes a lot longer.
I love when you said you were going to label as soon as video was done. If that was me, I would only get the artichokes and sweet peas right. You cut flower garden is going to be amazing!
Thank you so much for doing this video! It definitely isn’t “too long”, because it was so informative and interesting seeing all of your seeds turn into plants. I’ve had ups and downs with seeds this year, as always. Unpredictable weather and a warm winter really messed with a lot of mine, but the successes have been great. I’m like you, I just feel so proud of myself when I’m able to transplant that little plant that I started from seed! Can’t wait to see the cut flower garden and all of this in its splendor! Stay safe and much love! ♥️💚🙌🌸🌷🌿
PLEASE use Potting Mix next time! HUGE difference with watering!! I never had to water my containers except for the 1st few I started from your 1st video as I used starter seed mix. They were the only containers I had to water constantly. I planted 80 containers. Only 5 didn't sprout. I'll be doing this every year! Thank You both for all the inspiration! I get complimented on my landscape every day! Because of you💜
This is my second year using the winter sowing method and I recommend using a paint marker rather than a sharpie to label the jugs. I bought my paint marker at Wal-Mart and it lasts all season with no fading.
That didn't work for me. I got a sharpie brand and a generic brand from Michaels and both faded. I'm thinking a label of some sort inside the jug is the way to go. Maybe a popsicle stick?
It's so weird seeing everyone in a winter coat. I live in Central Florida Zone 9B and it's been 90° here. Summer arrived pretty early and the humidity has no mercy lol. Your seedlings look great Laura! It's so crazy because my growing season is coming to an end within the next month or 2. Our seasons are so different. Thanks for sharing!
Never too long! This is the first year that I’ve started seeds and I really appreciate and enjoy seeing seedling videos. I’m trying to stay on top of it and have them be productive, so this was inspiring.
Just came across your channel! Love Flowers and gardening! Thank you for showing pictures of the lovely things you grow . I take a screenshot of the pictures you show that I like and then I can be on the lookout for them! I don't have any Flower Catalogs but I believe I will in the near future! : )
Laura, thank you for a great informative video. I’m going to try this next year. I have been enjoying your videos for a year and have never read the comments section. I have found that other channels have so many mean, stupid comments that it just makes me mad and I feel bad for the person who worked so hard to do a video that was ment to help people. So, I just don’t read comments anymore. During this video you stated that you read all the comments! So, I starting reading and found not one negative comment. Wow!! What a nice surprise. :) Thank you to everyone for all the helpful information, kind words and love. A rarity on RUclips. Love this channel and the people in the Garden Answer community! Heidi Hendricks
I want a green house, always have. I have a mini greenhouse that I started Baptisia Alba from stem cuttings. Those majestic plants come back every year and are beautiful! I love starting plants. I grew Yucca from seed, and even hosta from seed. It's so cool!
I opened a few of my winter sowing containers this past week as well! This method has been the only way I can get certain flower varieties and lavender to sprout and grow. I am in 6b and it was super dry for us too so I watered mine a lot also this past two months I’ve had them. yours look great!
I’m buying me some foxglove seeds today! I really need the confidence boosts, my seedlings don’t look no where near as good as yours 😊 so glad yours looks amazing! Can’t wait to see your cut flower garden all planted up so exciting! 😊😊😊😊
LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, YOU MAKE ME HAPPY WHILE AM BED RIDDEN DUE TO MY TOTALLY HIP REPLACEMENT. I LOVE GARDENING TO, BUT AM ON HOLD FOR NOW TIL I GET BETTER., THEN I WILL START AGAIN GARDENING ❤️.
Yes..those big plants come from leaving them in the jugs till later. IMHO winter sowing excels with perennial flowers!! I had a very large new construction yard and managed to fill it with flowers through mostly winter sowing....yes I had a very few duds.. But the plants were SO healthy! And durable.
Laura to slow-growing plants: "You'd better be worth it!" 😂😂 This video was like Christmas morning! Great camera work, and lots of happy moments. Thank you, Laura!
This is sooooo cool! I’ve used jugs for plant covers to plant in early spring but I’ve never heard of this method. This would be a great winter project for my daycare kids!
I’ve been seed starting a few years now. This is the first time I’m trying vegetables along with flowers. If it’s a failure, I still have farmers markets! I enjoy watching all your videos, no matter the subject or length.
You encouraged me to start more seeds than I ever had before and I have learned a lot and look forward to trying again next year, especially with the water jugs. How do you treat used trays/pots? Rinse? Wash with soap and water? Bleach? Thanks Laura for leading the way with your green thumb and encouraging us to do more to enjoy more.
Try an an "oil based paint marker" for your tags (outside and inside) this will hold up much better! I didn't get around to the winter sowing this year but plan to next year. Laura your video's are never too long...thanks for all you and Aaron do to inspire. I met you both in Charlotte NC, you both are so nice.
I love what you and Aaron are gifting to plant enthusiast, it’s truly a blessing. Can you please speak on the reverse osmosis water system you had installed in January 2020?
I believe in past videos, she stated they have to have the system in their home for their drinking water because they have such hard water. Theirs wasn’t working correctly, and so she had to buy jugs of water until they could get it up and running once again. And as a result, we get these seed-starting-in-a-jug videos 🤗
I was eager to see how this worked out for you because I am saving up my milk jugs for next winter sowing. I live in a smaller house, so grow lights and the space needed for indoor germination is not an option. Glad to see it worked out for most of your flowers.
Three sisters that garden: one suggests that "china pencil" (check out online or inquire at Staples-like stores) instead of MAGIC MARKER. Their non-profit group that have done plant sales (previously annually) and in mid-eastern Florida, the China Pencil stayed better then the sharpie. This was before the Extreme Sharpie came out. Happy Gardening!!!
2 suggestions: 1-- you have enough land to become a grower/producer commercially to supply your family's business; 2-- put your logo on the back of your laptop to cover that apple--always promote yourself first! Thank you for the great videos! Wisconsin viewer and subscriber.
Honestly, it felt like Christmas morning opening up all those jugs. I work with special needs children with various abilities. Most of them come from low income families. This form of gardening really provides beautiful opportunities for them....joy in gardening can be available for everyone and not just the privileged. Nice job!!! 💚🌱
Exactly 😊
I did too.
I was just excited as Laura waiting to see how each open jug would look like.
Fun! FUn! FUN!😂

💯 agree! Thanks Laura and Aaron!
This is such an inspiration for me. And I don't think any of us will complain your videos are too long! We love every second!
Kerry DiBiasio I wish they were longer!!!🥰
I agree. If for some reason I’m not able to watch the entire video in one setting, I simply finish watching the rest later, which works well,. Plus I really look forward to watching part two!
That’s because she talks fast and doesn’t ramble. Like some take forever.
I agreed with Rita's Sewing Haven's comment. You're constantly saying and doing things that as value to the content where others drag out videos with repetition, music, or added chunks of stuff not related to topic we came to see.

I love that you still take the time to do things smaller scale growers would try!
Thank you for showing your successes and failures! When all you see are people’s healthy growth from seed instead of the good and the bad it can be discouraging. After watching your video, I’m encouraged that my attempts are not complete failures.

I was just thinking how easy ot would be to set them in trays and water from below! So good to know. I want to try the water jug method next year.
I did something similar, I had a plastic bin catching rainwater and I’d just sit them in there if I noticed them drying.

Ahhh! I’m not the only one who thinks nasturtium seedlings are just “SO CUTE!”
And the Lupine seedlings!
All I know is that you teach us so very much! Whether it’s a winner or a fail. We all learn!💞
Absolutely!❤
Next year when you plant your water jugs fold the tape back on itself. The tape will form a tab so you can open without scissors.

I just made a small conservatory.
I looking for a good and affordable light stand.
Idk which one to get.
Which one should I buy?

Opening those jugs is like Christmas in April !!

As soon as I saw the succulents I thought the same thing!
@@prettypeaces right? I hope she reads my FYI.
😢You have given
me the courage to go
beyond them and love my garden and yard.
We appreciate all the content you and Aaron (and Benjamin, Russell and Cheddar) put out..happy planting 🌱
PS, my son is 4 years old and will turn the tv on and put "Waura" on and tell me to come sit down and watch you 😍
I love the longer video format. The seedlings look great! Excited to see them, later, in their full glory.
Good luck.
I heard that if the lights are about 2” above the plant it will not be leggy. Try moving the lights closer to the plant by propping it up perhaps
When I grow up, I WANT a plant room that looks JUST LIKE THAT!
I am in love!!❤❤❤
Aww you’re so cute! That is a great dream and it will happen🥰🌱✨
It is funny how u think this is starting small! Lol! Seedling and the shovel was so cute. Can’t wait for all to grow up!
Just learning about Winter Sowing. Getting all the of information I can before I start.
Great video 👍 thanks for not breaking it up. I love the longer videos.
The videos have been long lately and I. Am. LOVING. it!
These videos are so great! There's so much information in each one and the video quality and close-ups really help the novice gardener, like myself. I'm glad RUclips brought me here. I'm always watching the British garden shows here since there's nothing like it that I've found in the States. I'm also a zone 5 so this is so exciting!
What are some of the British garden shows you watch? I would love them! Have your watched the one on Netflix?
The long videos are great! It keeps us company when we’re all locked up at home ☺️
Your videos are uplifting to me always but especially now that we are sheltered in place, so TY for giving us something to look forward to.
I planted nasturtiums once and get a ton of volunteers every year. Love anything I don't have to start inside and can count on coming back.
You need your green house! 😉🥰. My problem is this time every year I ALWAYS jump the gun on planting. Small time back yard gardener. You’d think I’d learn my lesson and wait. NOPE! 🤣🤣🤣🤪. I need a green house too. 🥰
Looking thru the comments, it is safe to say that we LOVE the longer videos! You are truly a breath of fresh air!
Could we get a tour of your greenhouse? You have so many plants in it !!!🤗🥰 Thank you for a long video !!!
Every video is HELPFUL.... THANK S
Great repurposing idea for the salad containers!! I'm totally going to do that!
Those salad containers worked really well for me! They are my first choice, then clear gallon jugs second :)
I sowed a few seeds for bee-friendly flowers two weeks ago. They already started to sprout. Now I can't wait to watch the bees on my balcony :D
Where do you live? The rest of us have to pay for the stuff you don't cherish .Count yourself lucky! Happy Gardening!!!
Laura shows off her tiny spade and I glance over at the lonely unmatched fork I took from my kitchen jammed in an empty cell on my seedling tray.
It actually works just as well, but I must admit the spade looks a lot classier. 😅
Loved that this was a longer video, have missed them! Loved the updates- thank you.
Be well.
I never water mine either but I live in 8b Florida where its humid.
I had approximately 80/100 success which seems about the same as Laura’s ratio.
oh no - I am glad you didn't split it in 2 - it was perfect; I loved the start to finish.
I love seeing your baby plants. Seedlings are so fun.
I'm a new gardener and I like to watch her😍
I’ve been waiting for this one! I wanted to see how those jugs were doing and they did not disappoint! I’ll have to try that next year! Also very jealous of your grow room! All of my kids take up the rooms in the house so I can’t have one but maybe one day I will. All of your seedlings look amazing though and I love the long video!
Everything is looking great! A note on that Dalmatian Peach foxglove: it’s an F1 hybrid so it won’t come true from seed.
I tried some of these and was pleasantly surprised how well they did. I have already planted some in the garden. Will definitely do it again.
Lucky woman.very hardworking and knowledgeable about plants.thanks for inspiring us.
I'm glad foxgloves are satisfying. I am thinking about growing them.
Thank you for the tip on cutting back the Snap Dragon's! 😊
I like the longer videos
I love when you said you were going to label as soon as video was done. If that was me, I would only get the artichokes and sweet peas right. You cut flower garden is going to be amazing!
I'm so thankful for your long videos😍love them
Love the white scabiosa it's a beautiful intricate wee flower.
I labeled my starts inside the jug on a plant label and i marked the jugs.
Holy plant room!! Well done!
I love long videos! That means more plant time.
Thank you for the consistent content! You guys have made my quarantine time SO much more enjoyable! Keep it up! 🌺🌸🌼
Ooooo, I can't wait to get my plants direct seeded! ! I'm gonna be 9 MO pregnant by the time I get to it so... Hope my husband likes seeding!
Feeling the same excitement when open christmas gifts :)
I’m buying me some foxglove seeds today! I really need the confidence boosts, my seedlings don’t look no where near as good as yours 😊 so glad yours looks amazing! Can’t wait to see your cut flower garden all planted up so exciting! 😊😊😊😊
I have no space for foxglove but always wanted some. They are so beautiful
LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, YOU MAKE ME HAPPY WHILE AM BED RIDDEN DUE TO MY TOTALLY HIP REPLACEMENT. I LOVE GARDENING TO, BUT AM ON HOLD FOR NOW TIL I GET BETTER., THEN I WILL START AGAIN GARDENING ❤️.
I always look forward to the long videos. That is a bonus!😁 Can't wait to see everything blooming their little heads off.
Yes..those big plants come from leaving them in the jugs till later. IMHO winter sowing excels with perennial flowers!! I had a very large new construction yard and managed to fill it with flowers through mostly winter sowing....yes I had a very few duds..
But the plants were SO healthy! And durable.
Laura to slow-growing plants: "You'd better be worth it!" 😂😂
This video was like Christmas morning! Great camera work, and lots of happy moments. Thank you, Laura!
I love how excited you got when you looked at the Bells of Ireland. Thats so great!
I love Foxglove too ,now I think I'll try to grow some from seed. Love the length of the video, best way to start my day.
I love that I got to see you winterize these and now am getting to see the result.
My seedlings have been my quarantine babies❤️❤️. I am reading and learning along and love the experience!!!!
Good morning ! Girl I learn every day from you and get inspired every morning! Thank you!
The copper bloom is so pretty!
