I started going in more on RUclips and it has been the biggest influence on hitting 1k+ monthly listeners on Spotify 🙏 It’s all just short form content for now but this reminded me to start making long form content on here too for the subscribers that are already here!
@@adamivy was sadly unfamiliar with its existence prior to your always reliable insight my friend, will have to make up for my error by passing on the knowledge somewhere else🖖
Did my first open verse challenge just to set a musical foundation on my page before I release and it’s been received so well!!!!! Planning on doing another one just to keep the repetition and build my reputation:) then I release in a few weeks
The last note is the most crucial one and I realized this earlier this year specially with tiktok livestreming how some people are able to just build audiences from the get go. It's unfortunate that I don't have the environment for livestreaming (a room of my own) but the minute I do I'll get to it
Is it possible to start a music career by singing if you didn’t take music for gcse or a level, I’ve done singing lessons and I’ve been in a few school musicals and choirs so I am able to sing but thinking about ending up as a singer is incredibly daunting, creating songs when I don’t know where to start with lyrics or backing tracks, the tens of thousands of people attempting to make it big with singing, where do I start? I’ve never really known what I want to spend my life doing as nothing really stands out but if I could spend my life singing and creating music for others I think I’d be happy with that, music has always been a big fascination of mine and how amazing all the singers are so I was wondering, is it possible for me to start a career with that information? I’m 16 so I watched your video about starting up and it was insightful but the focus in that video was around someone who already made a song, someone who was already a set ahead of me, is it possible for me to start?
bro, im 15 i wanna start making music because it sooths my ears, i wanna progress music to the point where i can retire my parents and start generational wealth (i wont only use music ill have other sources of income but i want to main music) but i dont know WHERE TO START. thats why i came by you to kinda get my steps in order to start now cuz im bored as hell and if theres something i wanna do in the future which i can practice on now ill do it. but as said earlier i don’t know where to start. all i have is a phone a broken earphone with a working mic and a 5 year old laptop what barely runs right i need tips
Hey! First off, it's awesome that you want to dive into music and create a better future for your family. Here's where you can start: Learn the Basics: Use free resources on RUclips to learn about music production, songwriting, and music theory. Use What You Have Until What You Have Pays For What You Want: Start making beats or writing lyrics using your phone and laptop. There are free apps and software that can help you get started. Practice Daily: Consistency is key. Spend time each day working on your music. Network: Join online communities like MusicianHub.com to share your work, get feedback, and learn from others. Invest Wisely: Save up for better equipment over time, but remember that your creativity matters more than your gear. Stay focused, stay patient, and keep pushing forward.
@adamivy hey man thanks for your Info I truly appreciate the time you took to type this out, I managed to get fl studio on a tablet I have and I'll bee trying to practice and learn the software, for the last 2 weeks I've been more clear minded and relaxed due to someone I met, I can now think properly and go after my goals, she supports me in every way and because of that I feel more confident in this and I feel like I could truly make this work. I'll be taking your tips and put them to good use, Thank You Adam. I'll never forget you.
I hear you. This is exactly what I work on with my students in the Sell Music Masterclass. Converting casual listeners into genuine fans is all about building a connection. Engage with every comment, share your story, and provide value consistently. Make them feel like they're part of your journey. Authenticity and interaction are key, show them why they should stick around and support you.
I can attest to youtube being the real driver of fans. Along with the organic push, youtube ads convert the most fans in my experience (as long as you have a good thumbnail and you put effort into the content)
Thank you for the video. I tried to upload vid to tiktok but my view stays at 0. I don't know how to fix it. I sent message to tiktok they said it should be fixed, but it keeps the same. if anyone know please let me know thank you in advance
Before diving into ads, I always recommend taking a step back and focusing on your organic reach. If you're not getting any organic traction, it could mean your content isn't hitting the mark yet. Ads can boost your visibility, but they won't solve underlying content issues. Spend some time refining your content strategy and see what works naturally. Once you start seeing organic growth, you'll be in a much better position to leverage paid ads effectively.
I’d say I’m struggling with execution and release the content. Because I have it be this is the first time I’m really locking in so it usually tuff to click post 😅
I have a weird question: I released my music a few years ago under a stage name that I now regret. I want to start over and re-realease under my own name. Im guessing I can take everything down and start over with my distributor, or a new one, But how can I do that when I am registered with BMI under that name as well? Do you have any advice for artists who had a "false start" and are looking to start over fresh? Thank you for all you do, Adam! You're doing God's work! I appreciate you! ❤
You should be able to just go into your distribution service (be it DistroKid, TuneCore, whatever it is) and remove the music from in there. Doing so should remove it from streaming services as well (may not happen instantly for obvious reasons). As for BMI, it handles performance rights and not distribution, but you can log into your BMI account and update things to reflect the changes if necessary. If in either case you can’t figure it out, you _should_ be able to call them up or email them or something about it.
That's not a weird question at all, it's actually pretty common. Here's the deal: you can definitely start fresh. You can remove your old releases from your distributor and re-release them under your new name. As for BMI, you can update your registration with your new stage name. It might take some paperwork, but it's totally doable. Starting over can be a powerful move if you're feeling more aligned with your new direction. It's about authenticity and making sure your brand truly represents who you are. I've helped many artists in similar situations through my Sell Music Masterclass. You're on the right path, and I'm here to support you.
