    Have watched this video before, but after spending most of the last 6 weeks laid up in bed, thought I would re visit. I have a simplex, and love your videos. Great to have someone talk you through each step without making you feel your stupid and useless in any way.
    Keep making these videos, they are the best out there, for both beginners and those that need some great advice.
    Cheers Adam,

    Some great tips and advice.
    All I'd add is that every beach is different, and the same beach can change dramatically after a tide. I think some people see a video and see people find a ring or pockets full of coins then expect to find that on their local beach. The might well do, but if their beach doesn't attract as many visitors, then the finds might be a lot less frequent. Up here in Scotland we have some vast beaches with very few footprints (especially over the winter months) so base your expectations on the reality to avoid disappointment 😊

      @@DTEKTSUSSEX I think you have so many people on RUclips offering their advice but people are all in beach detecting for different reasons. Some think they will score a Rolex on the first dig whilst others just enjoy the fresh air and what ever they find. It’s good to see a video which is to the point but shows the hobby for what it is, just a nice peaceful time on the beach and what ever you make of it 👌

    Hi. Great video. I’ve been semi seriously beach detecting for about a year (only when on holiday at our caravan though) so consider myself a real amateur. I watch lots of videos for tips. Do you not subscribe to the V shaped searching pattern between current tide line and high / mid tide line ? Just after your opinion. Haven’t tried it yet but was going to next weekend when I’m down for a day. Thanks.

    • @DTEKTSUSSEX
      @DTEKTSUSSEX  3 года назад +1

      Hi Kevin,
      Thanks! 🙂
      I was trying to keep things simple in the video and didn't want to go too far down the rabbit hole of the various more advanced techniques.
      The diagonal method is great for finding the areas where items are likely to collect and would definitely say give it a go! Wet sand varies so much between beaches that what works in one place may not be the best method elsewhere.
      Good luck and happy hunting! 😃😎👍

    Hi Adam, the one thing you didn't mention was, do you need permission to detect on all the beach, in your case from cliffs to low tide , and if so, who do you contact, for example, the local council for that area or don't you need permission?... Thanks Adam.... Cya

    • @DTEKTSUSSEX
      @DTEKTSUSSEX  3 года назад

      Hi Anthony,
      Thanks for adding to the list! If I added everything in the the video would be too long. Yes, checking local permissions and restrictions is very important before heading out 😃😎👍

    • @CarloAnna-zn5lt
      @CarloAnna-zn5lt Год назад +1

      Don't need permission on the beach, only if is private beach or belong to the crown need permission

    • @DTEKTSUSSEX
      @DTEKTSUSSEX  Год назад

      Correct...which is why checking whether you need to obtain permission for the particular beach you are planning to hunt on is very important.

    • @DTEKTSUSSEX

      It's very similar, yes. To be honest, the main purpose of them is to look good. If you've wound the cable properly there shouldn't be any give in it to bang against the shift.

    For a beach that is known to be high in mineral iron, would it be more helpful to use beach mode to eliminate stray iron tones?

    • @DTEKTSUSSEX
      @DTEKTSUSSEX  2 года назад

      Park 2 will eliminate a lot of the iron in the dry areas. On the wet I use All Metal Mode with ground balance on zero which deals with most of the mineralisation. I tend to get used to ignoring the iron tones but you could discriminate them out.

    Metal detectors are like the reverse of a wife. With a wife you get bitched and moaned at for whats wrong. With a metal detector, it bitches and moans when thing are going good. Even a slight grunt could be something great. A wife’s slight grunt could mean your having supper in your car.
