I had the pleasure of riding the new Nemesis three times over this last weekend, including once in the dark. It is a phenomenally smooth, exhilarating ride, and the new theme looks amazing!
It really is the whole package, and will be even better after it’s worn in more, and the area is finished
One of the most amazing rides ever and I'm so glad it's been given a full overhaul. Sounds so smooth.
It’s incredibly smooth
As epic as i remember it. Not been to alton towers for 25 years but i will always remember this one. I was there on the first weekend of it opening and remember having to wait 5 hrs, and then getting off and riding the thunderlooper 4 times back to back in about 20 mins. Good times.
It's great to have it back at the park! Such a good coaster
@@ThemeParksDirect absolutely, nemesis changed my view of rollercoasters from scary to exiting. How long was it out of use for?
It was closed from November 2022 till March 2024 so around 16-17 months in total, but it’s awesome to have it back!
i admit that one thing I miss from the old Nemesis is the deafening roar. I guess that's because the old track had a hollow steel spine, whereas the modern track is filled with sand or some other kind of sound insulation.
Yes it is a shame it doesn’t as it would’ve fit even more with it being the monster roaring, however there is still some roar and this may get louder as it ages
after the ride warms up throughout the day, its so fast, but when it gets faster i feel that the last corkscrew is a tad rough, but its still amazing
The last corkscrew also is where the rattle is occurring so this is likely to be what you felt.
POV looks slower than I’ve just experienced.. in person you would swear it’s about 4 times faster than it looks.. awesome ride
It is very intense and much faster in person and that’s my experience from opening day, now it’s had a few weeks to wear in, I cannot wait to see how much faster it is
I’m going this Saturday and this made me even more excited for nemesis my first ride of it!

I haven't been to Alton Towers in twelve years but one thing I have noticed that is different is at 0:37 where there is now a small plaza which is (I assume) accessible to the public. I remember that area right underneath the very first bend and dip being completely green and full of grass and trees. I'll definitely have to come back to the park and ride this because as I say, it's been a long twelve years...
It is very sparse now which is a shame, it’s not accessible, the only bit that is is the queue that runs around the edge

@@amyharrison5734 Me too, the new theming is great and I love the smoke, but the waterfalls would really be the icing on the cake, especially if they were red again!
Waterfalls are nice but it’s so quick my brain couldn’t take anything in apart from terror.. fantastic ride and well done to the inventor

When I go to alton towers this year it's going to be my first time going on nemesis because last year when I went to alton towers i finally went on roller coasters exept for nemesis and nemesis was closed i have never been on it before because I used be scared of roller coasters

@@ThemeParksDirect doh - it was that "not smooth" that made this coaster lol. I remember riding it the year it first opened. Sooth almost takes the point out of it IMO.

Where is the onride photo taken now? Used to be at the bottom of the helix before the Zero G roll but I didn't get blinded when i went on 😂

Totally agree, it’s really fast, really aggressive, but smooth and it’s a decent ride time. Oblivion was much faster than I remember but a few seconds and it’s over.. nemesis is by far the best ride for me

Fair enough, I’ve ridden quite a few and it’s still my number one!
1st time was great, 2nd time I was 10 years older and thought I was gonna have a heart attack it was that quick.. 3 rd time yesterday was amazing, just as quick and so intense.. once it builds momentum into the tight right hander, it’s full blown thrill till it stops..

I love inverted coasters.
For me the inversions especially the Zero G roll had little to no force at all whatsoever, plus it's still only just making the loop. however give it a few years to wear in and it'll be back to its old self 😁
For me the zero g roll and many of the inversions felt smoother and still very forcefull, but i know what you mean and it will take time to wear in!
I wonder why there wasn’t the smoke effect over the station in this POV
Looks like this is pre-opening day. There's no one in the queue or the ride itself, so wouldn't be surprised if this was on a test of things and the smoke effect above the monster would've given some details away, + you can see a bunch of people in hi-vis working on a few of the in-queue things as it flies around. Little bit sneaky that someone's gotten this PoV though, don't think this was meant to be shared around, but I'm not complaining that we have such a clean view of everything.

It is incredible
guys im 12 and i like roller coasters but get really anxious. ive been on galactica, wickerman, thirteen, spinball and rita. should i do this? i go to alton towers when i turn 13 and i really wanna go on this but im too scared.

Has it lost it's original roar? Seems much quieter now. Sounds like the track has been filled with sand.
It has been filled with sand and is quieter, however it still has a slight roar, but not like it used to.
Uk enthusiasts when there best ride get re tracked (it a 1994 b&m invert)

Looks exactly the same as old nemesis, no different turns etc just different tracks and cars so assume it’s smoother.

It is very different in terms of theming and the storyline, it's been drastically improved, and the ride experience is much better! :)

That rattle is really a concern
Yes it is, it doesn’t seem to have improved much, it sounds unhealthy and is a shame as it makes a really smooth ride quite uncomfortable
thay could of put the red water back in the ditch instead of the brown mud and rain water,great vid
I have a feeling it’s a future plan, the area is not finished yet. There’s still areas that need work and I think some form of waterfall will come back!

Great to see the old ride back. All it has had is new track and a lick of paint. No new turns or bends. Still the same.

It has had a re-track which also has a new colour scheme. The station is completely different with there now being a large impressive interactive eye. And the surrounding area is now full of incredible theming pieces.
So... Is it still as good as the old version? Better? Worse?
It is much better, there is a slight rattle on the trains which is being resolved but other than that it is awesome!

There is some air time, but its more about force and intensity on this coaster

@@ThemeParksDirect how would you compare it to wickerman? Almost took my 8 year old on it and glad I backed out. It was way more intense than it looked. I went on nemesis about 20 years ago and I swear it was smooth and flowing and not fast and intense.

This was when testing first started, now that it has run for a while it has sped up, and throughout the day it is very fast.
If its the same coaster just redon like this. It's going to be faster and more intense. They did thr same thing with wildcat

It has been significantly improved with a whole new track replacement providing a better ride experience, incredible new theming and a new story, and a great soundtrack and sound effects!
You can hear the rattle! I hope you can't feel it too badly
Don't worry it's a common thing with b&m coasters it's like a new house takes a while to settle in 😅 the rattle will sort it's self out in a few weeks I'd expect
That just sounds like regular coaster noises to me
I rode it opening day, and I only noticed the judder on the last stall turn after the final inversion, otherwise it was glass smooth. Its bedding in still I guess? It was running noticeably faster as the day went on also.

@@Yonel6969 every pov with every different camera makes a different sound on different days in different weather conditions with different amounts of people on the ride. This is a pretty normal sound to hear in a pov and there are povs of hella rough coasters that don’t have this sound in it.
You can hear how much it’s rattling, especially on the final corner
Yes it does have a rattle especially near the end, still feels smoother than before but hopefully they can fix this issue
So what's different about it😂
Same layout, but all the track and supports have been replaced so it is super smooth. A huge amount of investment in theming and storytelling in the area
what the heck was the extra dramatic slow break run for practically crawling
Because there was another train in the station, which you can see in the video. When that train left the station, the one here on the break run sped up
It does seem to loose its speed on that final turn around which it never used to. I’m sure it will speed up when it wears in a bit

Amazing Alton Towers can rebuild the same ride and get people hyped enough to queue 4-5 hours for a ride they have been on before which was like 10 mins queue time 🤣

Not at all. It's a very fun, enjoyable experience. It's smooth, so you have no sensation of being thrown about or feeling off balance.
You probably won't like it then. Most people reply will be enthusiasts, so they'll all likely say 'YES!'. Nemesis has snappy transitions, especially the inversion over the station, it can make people feel dizzy if they aren't prepared for it. It's not scary, but has a decent amount of intensity and the sense of speed is pretty great.
I personally don’t think it’s scary, but I haven’t been on the newer version yet, just the old version before the retrack
It does depend, the ride is very intense in areas and can build up speed. However it is one of the most fun and enjoyable at Alton towers so it is always worth giving it a go and if you don’t like it you know for next time :)

Why have they painted it like every teenage goths flame trousers in the 90's/00's?
It’s had a complete retrack and it fits with the nemesis story with it being the monsters veins
The first drop section looks really sparse and out of theme. Also really, really not a fan of the vein paintwork on the track (its too bright and cartoony so looks a bit metal band logo or cheap funfair ride) BUT the one pro is at least its all preserved for many more years. Hopefully with some age and fading it might look a bit grittier again.
Over time the queue line and area should grow back, it definitely isnt finished either, much more theming should hopefully be coming

sounds like its got a mad rattle on it.
