There is valid reasons for and against the height slider limit, some people are just naturally shorter, and they just want to be able to play as themselves, some people like myself just met want it for Lore Reasons, just making my character short to show what she looked like when she was younger, and never use it again, I would also like it for decoys, just like how there are those three children in central City, you could do something similar in your creative space.
But I also get it from the other point of view, that with how weird some people can be, and with all the outfits that we have it, to not even give them access to be able to do it, as we have seen what some people do with accessories.
I just want to make my War character lore accurate 10'0

One of my characters is about 4'11" on global, so it actually just a 5 inch difference from JP's minimum.
That's plenty short IMO. If people really want to be shrimps in these games, there's always FF14.
I love character creators and I largely only play adventurous games that allow me to make my own character. In some games I recreate the closest version of myself but that's a rarity as most of the time I create unique separate entities from myself. I can't stand having to play a game as someone who's already created for me, their story.
However the current generation of character creators, in the "west", are abhorrent in my eyes. You are not allowed to create feminine beauty, muscle guys are still okay, because you not allowed to actually identify feminine characteristics. Body types, pronouns, and needlessly pandering to a small minority of people who mutilated their own bodies, make genuine character creation difficult.
The problem with keep on keeping on is that eventually they'll (the woke) come for you and demand your submission. Right now your not allowed to have shapely assets, but next you must clap for your new oppressors who will censor you for your benefit.
Beauty inspires greatness. The push for ugly "modern" architecture over the past 50 to 60 years is also a big part of why things are the way they are, not just within the sphere of gaming.
I believe there is a "Ugly ban" in Japan because nobody like to play ugly characters since it reminds people of real life and kill immersion.
The problem is things shouldn't be illegal, they should be unthinkable. It's about self moderation.
Fun part is that Japan censors western releases of their own games, when some games that made by other countries (where Japan releases their censored games) have all the stuff they usually censor and even more sometimes (and I'm not talking about H-games) which brings the question - why they even doing this? It feels more like a mock, rather than necessity.
I don't care about height slider in PSO2, I just want them to bring back old boob physics :P

I think that's a localization thing. It's probably the western branch that gives the suggestion to censor certain things that in Japan are not seen as something to censor.
Critical Drinker is known to be politically conservative. By responding to him, the social media handlers for global jumped headfirst into the culture war. This only draws negative attention to the game and further tarnishes its reputation as being managed by immature people.
They really didn't do themselves any favors here.

@@FoxyPercival714 The point isn't which side Critical Drinker leans on, the point is NGS should remain apolitical. NGS is a game for entertainment/profit, not some tool to push an agenda. The moment NGS overtly sides with one political side is the moment you alienate half your prospective userbase.

It's not just the slider, I was honestly more peeved that they removed the pasties innerwear (for classic pso2, where it all began). Because now you are obligated to buy a near similar innerwear, and those things cost a lot, just to make it so it doesnt look like they are wearing some weird innerwear messing up the basewear and outerwear. While it might seem like it's a minimal thing, it plays a part of a bigger picture going forward, like them or hate them, removal of mini outfits (i personally dont like them because you have to waste salon ticket changing head size because otherwise it looks terrible), the change from Male/female to type 1 and type 2 (that wouldve normally worked fine if it was to casts only MAYBE, but i digress), these are the surface level things i took immediate notice, and who knows what else is out there in the form of western censorship.
I think part of that stems from cultural differences in terms of how Japan and the west see that stuff. Japan is cool girls showing a bunch of skin while not being too fond of blood and gore in their media. Meanwhile over here in the west, it's more or less the opposite. The other stuff is a weird canary in a coalmine. This reminds me of the activist groups that went after Midway back in the day with Mortal Kombat, but this time the craziness is coming form within.

@@wolfzero6907 aye. My created character is canonically supposed to be 7'0". A character made outside of PSO2, but he world hops, so it fits.
It was quite the funny little thing to witness when they didn't even realize that the Official NGS X Account is usually just unhinged sometimes. Regardless of ex-Staffs that they wanna blame everything or not, it's the only game that has this bandwagon lmao.
I don't really have anything of substance to add to the conversation here, but some people were clearly taking this too seriously, be it the tourists, that one producer guy who's name I already forgot, even a few PSO2 players from what I did see.
Since you brought up the height restrictions, I'm kinda thankful Global has them knowing some of the players 😂 but could care less if they were removed eventually, same with some of the censorship in this game.
You're probably right given the degeneracy of this community. I think the omission of the bathhouse scene in episode 4 is widely regarded as a mercy. I'm guessing they initially planned to include it when the voiceover lines were being recorded, then it was cut at the last minute. That would explain their existence.
The problem with censor ship is more censor ship.
We are becoming more like Chy na each day and that is not something to boast about it.
Yup! And a lot of games are being censored to conform to Chinese standards to be sold over there. That market isn't as big as Japan or the west thanks to consoles having previously been illegal over there for decades. That market has been growing like crazy over there. Naturally, game companies will want a piece of that pie, which means playing ball with their rules. Of course, there's more to it.
Whoever runs the NGS Twitter account needs a raise for clapping back against The Critical Drinker with a Taylor Swift lyric.

I feel like Play PSO2's comment was shooting for a "Wendy's" style vibe. However, it came off poorly and was picked up by others who took advantage of the situation. While I do agree that PSO2 has an amazing character customization, it has areas that REALLY need improvement. Areas such as the availability of color passes, the pricing of AC Scratch outfits and accessories, and why some poses don't work right.

I may not agree with the whole thing but she's still a fellow human like the rest of us. That's how she presents herself to the world, so I will respect that. I have a few trans friends thanks to these games, and they are still my friends who treat me well, and I respond in kind. People have enough misery to deal with, so why add to it?
