William Fitchner is low key one of the greatest actors of all time and has NEVER received the praise he deserves. Even his voiceover work as Ken Rosenberg in the GTA game series is impeccable
Mahone went from pursuing the escapees to being incarcerated with them and needing their help to escape to becoming a valued member of the group and even friend. Over the course of all this, he suffered so much personal loss. Great character development.

Not just "some guy", but a corrupt bank manager working for the most powerful Gotham City mobsters during Batman's reign of terror... And that they would then all end up teaming up with Clock King, after Count Vertigo was killed off. Prison Break had some cheesy moments and lesser seasons (I've never really liked season 3), but the cast was top notch. I'm so glad Robert Knepper (T-Bag, aka Clock King in Arrow & the Flash) got a well deserved career boost thanks to this show.
The funny thing is I cannot find any interview with the actor speaking about his role as Wyatt... I really tried to find one but it seems like he may not want to talk about it.
