I cannot say enough on how intriguing it is to watch Mr. Tarr do what he does. I have been playing the guitar for many years and have grown to really appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making a hand made instrument such as the ones presented in your videos. What is so fascinating about your process is that you are the entire work force behind the final product. I know that the back when Hammer was in full swing they had several luthiers and craftsman all doing something in somewhat of an assembly line. Such as one person working on the bodies while another the neck and someone doing paint and buffing.. you are but one person that does it all... that's what is so impressive to me. All the painstaking work that goes into measuring and the detail of the accuracy that is needed so everything goes into place perfectly... you sir are a true artisan. I am sure that you get the same enjoyment and pleasure at making these beautiful pieces of art as I do just watching you make them...... well done sir... well done....
Albert Kaiser Albert they are very kind words and I thank you for that comment. It is a labour of love, doing the filming and edit makes it 3 times harder. But I do enjoy the projects, and it a way of leaving something for my children and grandchildren. Not sure what I’ll build next a small semi or PRS style. Which I’ll start next March. Many Thanks Mike.
Mr. Tarr, are you in the business of selling your pieces ? I really am wanting a Jr. like in your other video. I would be interested if you are.. I also understand that like you said, just a labor of love and only make them for yourself to pass on to your family.... i just had to ask.... Or creating a new one not necessarily one that you have already built.
Albert Kaiser Albert let me have a little think about it. Most of my work is now in teaching music of all ages, repair/tech work and teaching guitar building. But it has been on my mind to sell the LP Junior which is in the video. But it is also something special to me. Mike. 🎸

@@mitarrguitars Here is a little trick I learned from a boat carpenter yrs ago,,, You fold the sandpaper around the desired radius you wish to form with the sand side outward, then you take a block of Styrofoam and work it back and forth , this will shape the contour into the block, then you simply put the sandpaper into the block, sand side out and you are good to go ! Very neat trick ! I hope it will be of use to you someday ! 😁✌🕇⚘

Scatyricon Thank you for great comment... Mike
Having built a couple of Tele's myself it was very relaxing watching you do it, great looking guitar & good woodworking skills, performed in a nice atmosphere, and love the way you introduce the youngster to your workshop, never too young to start them off......Oh and i loved your demo afterwards, all in all a great half hours viewing.......thankyou
Woody Turner Hi Woody. So glad you enjoyed the film, and many thanks for your comment. My grandson will be 3 this year and will be in the next film a little more. I’ve featured him in a few Instagram video it’s alway fun. Thanks again Mike
awesome job! the flamed maple neck looks amazing, great work!
quellidelnido Thank you for your comment. Mike
Mike. 🎸
Sin duda un trabajo de fino acabado.hermoso te felicitó.
Oscar mario Oses Carrillo Many thanks for the comment Oscar. Mike

That's an absolutely gorgeous Tele. Awesome work!👍😎🎸🎶
74dart man Thank you Mike
Incredible and inspiring. There’s something indescribable about playing something you built yourself. I build custom guitar amps and it’s such a good feeling to play through a finished project you put your heart and souls into. Kudos my friend.
I started building kit guitars my pickup and finish choice. I did 3 and out of 20 I own the three are my favorite. TLC in what you make.
Awesome work and craftsmanship!! I usually move the selector switch to the back so my brutal hands won't hit it while strumming.
IZZY SANTIAGO Nothing wrong with that LZZY, I’ve done it myself at times. 👍Thanks for the comment Mike
Stumbled upon this video, amazing job! Nice Aquaracer too!

Split PVC pipe for sanding "blocks", brilliant!
j smith There work really well, great for neck shaping. Thanks for the comment Mike.
An absolute honor to watch you and your creation process!
Well done Sir!
Patrick Kem .... Patrick thank you so much for your kind words.
I feel it better not to comment on my work progress. I love guitars, so only build what I like. And it’s a memory for me to leave my children and grand children. And to encourage other to have go at building guitars. That’s the method behind my documentary. Mike👍
That is beautiful. Awesome job!!!!!!
Jeez that’s satisfying to watch. Bravo!
larrylewislarry Larry cheers for the comment. Mike
Love your bench top jointer @ 2:46 . I wish my Porter Cable had the adjustable guide to hold the work piece against the fence
Lou Moritz Thank you Lou for you comment. Mike
@@mitarrguitars Forgot to mention, beautiful job on the guitar mate. I too have a small shop across the pond and i build, repair and customize guitars and like you, i have the basic essential tools needed to build guitars. One thing I don't have but I'm in the market for now is the Jet 16-32 drum sander. I will make my life much easier once i acquire one. A few years back I built a custom SG for a fellow countryman of your's who lives in Birmingham. You made have heard of him, Tony Iommi . Does the name ring a bell ? LOL Just do a google search with my name and Tony's name. Plenty of pictures of the SG I built.
Lou, that’s right ,my thickness sand was my biggish expensive. Try and do a lot by hand. 👍 Mike
