- Episode 3 of 3 - Landing on Troll Airfield, Antarctica, 15th November 2023, and takeoff to Cape Town. Watch aviation history in the making as Norse Atlantic Airways, The Explorer’s Airline, documents our historic aviation journey, pioneering the first-ever landing of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the blue ice runway in Antarctica, and the largest aircraft to ever land in Antarctica!
Contracted by the Norwegian Polar Institute and AirContact, the world’s oldest air broker, our mission was to deliver crucial research equipment for Antarctic exploration.
Our exceptional cargo capacity and reduced carbon footprint, eliminating the need for refueling at Troll, played an important role in the mission's success.
For more information about this mission, make sure to tune in to the next episodes!

That's absolutely brilliant! And fabulous PR. How amazing it would be if Norse actually got to do more flights like that! 👍🤞
Unbelievable 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Simply amazing!!! Wonderful job guys!!
Observe as sombras das pessoas e objetos. Veja que elas nos mostra o sol sempre no horizonte, o dia todo.
👏👏👏💪💪😇😇
Truly inspirational!
Great series of videos. Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷 ❤. How about another video with more technical info like hours of flight, runway length, more thrust reversers and auto brake. All in all, very well made.
WOW! to see the Pilots and Crew so excided about going to Antarctica was so much Fun!
Very moving video, we live in extraordinary times, imagine telling someone from 100 years ago you will be flying to Antarctica and back in a day, just to drop off some people and stuff...
Congrats Norse, well done.
amazingggg!!!
An excellent Norse exploration!!!!!
How smoothly that plane landed!
I don't know why I cried, when take-off.
Spectacular!
oh yeah!
brillant!
I road on your inaugural flight from ft lauderdale to oslo. It was fantastic. Question. Did you keep the engines running while on the ice? Or was the APU used to keep systems warm.
👏🏼
Comnon man....why is no sound at part 3 also??????? Please reupload the video or talk to youtube if they deleted the soud over their obscure motives. And they have plenty of it.
What's wrong with the sound? It cuts silent after 3 seconds on this video, and after 13sec in pt.2!
Damn the pilots were wearing short sleeves in antartica with only 10°c... Crazy
Surprised pilots didn't suit up before landing also
Second longest domestic flight after Paris-Papeete.
Amazing journey. Felt really excited watching the vid. 🌀
Значит там уже довольно тепло,раз девушки вышли без одежды
Awesome!!!
was this a commercial flight or testing?!
You need an App
What i don't understand is how did they find the runway from up above ? A white track in a white environment. No ILS. No VOR approach.
They used GPS 2:21
@@MrFredericandre All aircrafts use GPS. That has nothing to do with the visual landing.
Hi Norse I know it’s kinda stupid to ask but I made a flightradar24 video about the Antarctica flight and I was wondering if you could please check it out since it’s you guys who achieved this amazing flight
Can you share me please
I can't find it on your channel.
@@willcd it’s quite far down in my shorts page
@@chriscruzA35O-9OO it’s on my channel
@@thelegendaryme link?
Book my flight ✈️
People be saying stuff like Norse ain’t achieved nothing they are a terrible airline bruh watch this video and see why you are incredibly incorrect
Stunning 😍
Only got one question for ya : why wasn’t I on the plane ?
Call next time 😉
I want to be called as well. But only if it's a full service airline. 😂
NOW TRY BUTTER IN ANTARCTICA😂
Yeah, yeah, great, marvellous! But did passengers have to pay extra for any catering on board this low cost airliner?😂
Truly amazing, but I can’t help feeling it seems a little bit reckless to take a multi million Dollar jet to somewhere so remote. I’m sure it’s all be planned in advance, but what would happen if there was a mechanical failure of the jet on the ground? I can’t imagine spare parts being readily available. Also trained fire fighters in the event of an emergency on landing or Take Off.
You need to watch part 1 of this docuseries they explained it there.
It's ROUTING not ROOTING.
Routing is in American English only!
@@markinboy then what do you say when cheering someone or a team ? Routing or rooting ?
@@davidkamen Not relevant here.
@@markinboy not relevant because you don't know !
@@davidkamen Don't think I meed to dignify that with a response.
So unnecessarily put a commercial airliner in these harsh conditions. Just find a plane built for this mission. Can't imagine how much damage the plane endured. I will never fly Norse's planes.
LOL!
