You know another great thing about the battle passes in this game? When the next season comes out, any stuff you didn't get from the previous season gets rolled into the general loot table of events that have a chance of spawning in each mission. Nothing gets locked away forever for the sake of strong arming you into playing more to avoid missing out, you'll always be able to get it!
and even for event-exclusive items, when the same event comes back next year, if a player didnt get the cosmetic from the previous year, game gives it for free when you boot it up. They could have done what most companies would and offer the item for cash but instead gift it to you.
Nothing compares to the heroic rush you get when a fellow miner is down and you are rushing to save them. Blasting glyphids, rezzing your battle brother, then fighting beard and nail back to the pod with 30 seconds left is what legends are made of.
I once had a 0 seconds left mission. The gunner got separated, went down and told the rest of us already at the pod to just go. We all rush to get him anyway and I drill us back chucking C4 while waiting for my drills to cool. All while the time is counting down. We have the pod is sight with 10 seconds left, me and the gunner deposit a last few gold and jump in the pod right as mission control says the pod is leaving. We than all proceed to loss our minds and ROCK and STONE
2 noobs are downed, Molly is at drop pod, and we're playing an O2 modifier, 120m away from drop pod. Scout is at the pod, but not escaping yet. I go near the 2 noobs, also dying from no oxygen, and I place a resupply pod. I get downed. I WAIT until the drop pod falls, Iron Will back up, resupply HP, pick them both up Drill us to another resupply we used during the mission, in between us and the Drop Pod Drill back to the Drop Pod, where Scout was waiting for us. Turned a 1 man escape into a 4 man victory. Felt absolutely legendary with 20 seconds left on the drop pod
I love it when the track 'RUN' kicks in and you're doing a morkite extraction mission. Nothing beats surfing the pipes while being relentlessly chased by murderous eight-legged monsters.
Karl stayed behind to save us all. He is the reason NO DWARF LEFT BEHIND. Whenever you leave the caves, leave a resupply left over for Karl. He's SURELY still alive down there.
The best thing about this game's community is that 90% of us will now feel the need to drop a resupply pod before leaving every time just because a random dwarf on the internet said so I can't explain it but it's beautiful
@@jacksonville9642 I just had an engi call me out for "holding out on nitra" because I was holding enough nitra on me to deposit on the pod and call a resupply right before grappling into the pod. I was like "What, it's for karl.", then I pressed salute and got the "For Karl!" voiceline. 10/10 game.
Worth noting: Scout's slowdown grenade makes enemies take 30% more damage and counts as electrocution so even tho it doesn't deal electric damage it boosts damage of weapons that deal bonus damage to electrocuted and such targets
now those gun overclocks make sense... I always thought that some scout gun overclocks require stupid things, like special map features to be useful, but you can use those nades...
A Deep Dive is basically 3 missions in a row without breaks, and your HP, ammo, and Nitra carry over for all of them. If you barely scrap by one mission, you’ll be that depleted for the start of next one too. There’s a few other differences like difficulty scaling & secondary objectives but that’s the general summary.
I always end up with hundreds of nitra by the end cause everyone is scared that if they call a resup we’ll all die or something so we’re very cautious of amo usage
I play all 4 classes but engineer was my first, and you never forget your first. He is the most fun to me because of the resource managing. And all the AI shit you get later in the game, he is the smort one of the group. In a solo eng. mission I have 2 turrets, a drone swarm, a S.M.A.R.T. rifle, B.O.S.C.O. and Steve. Yea, "solo" mission. Great game, I've been playing since 2018 and it is so nice to see the love this game has. R&S!
that's why he is my main (I also play all classes), I never think much about if I'm too far from the group or not, because when the swarm comes I have my own swarm to fight back LUL
I’m an ancient man in internet age, and this game brought back that magical feeling of being a kid in the nineties playing couch cooperative games with the little homies having a brain blasting amount of fun with no drugs. And that’s been me just playing with ransoms, I can’t imagine how fun it would be to play with actual friends if any of mine still played games
I for one am getting my friend group into it now. Since Helldiver's 2 came out, and fact I'm an XBOX player, made me crave DRG and now my buddies are installing it. It's even cross play but only for XBOX and PC
This game is amazing, and gave me one of the most visceral experiences I've had playing a game (especially one that isn't horror). My friends who I usually played it with weren't on, so I ran some missions alone. My first time going to the sand caves. Everything is pretty normal, until I walk out of a tunnel into this total pitch black. Now up until this point, since I hadn't played a lot, I thought all of the caves were relatively small. So I throw my flare, and it goes off a cliff, and *NOTHING* gets illuminated. Not the roof, not the walls. Nothing but pillars of sand, as the flare drops to the floor, and still barely illuminates any of the room. So I grab my flare gun, launch it upwards, and it sticks into the roof. And the room is MASSIVE. many, many times bigger than any of the rooms I had encountered before, and instantly there's tons of Glyphids on the roof and walls all climbing straight at me. It genuinely gave me that stomach sinking feeling you get in a horror game or a rollercoaster. I think it's part of why I got so addicted to the game, cause it had genuinely shocked me
A new miner has joined our team! Rock and Stone! The game does expand significantly after the first promotion, unlocking dormant cave events, Deep Dives, and overclocks. Making efficient builds with the overclocks that RNG gave you to be able to consistently complete Elite Deep Dives is quite a rabbit hole (they are Hazard 5.5 in the final mission). Engineer is my main class because he has portable nukes, a railgun, a Death Star superlaser, and a goddamn AI-powered smart rifle that aims itself and also explodes bugs. Turrets aren't his main source of damage, they are more for area denial against squishy bugs like swarmers and naedocytes. With a proper loadout you can have an entire team of companions that fight for you: Bosco, turrets, hacked Shredder drones from the SSG grenade, and Steeve, while also having the highest burst damage guns in the game. That said, every class gets insanely strong with some good overclocks and a well thought out loadout. Karl.gg is a good webpage to gather ideas from. Modding scene for this game exists and is something else entirely. If you ever wanted to know what Hazard 7 would look like, there are mods for that.

@@kel_ski Late reply, but mods in DRG are separated to 3 categories, Verified, Approved and Sandbox. Verified mods are mostly client-side, meaning only you can see and use the mod unless other players also have it. (Such as music replacement mods and QoL mods) Approved mods are ones that slightly alter the gameplay and progression of the game from my experience, they can be from multiple MULEs in one mission or Bosco in multiplayer, even to more than 4 players! Sandbox mods are mods that drastically affect the progression, such as more exp. I use verified mods mostly because they increase the replayability of the game and just makes it more fun trying new things out, Rock and Stone!

Engineer have the coolest weapons to unlock as well as overclocks. I hope you will play him more although I totally agree that every dwarf is fun to play since class balancing in this game is really solid.
@@zaidsharieff-s6s Cryo gun with a focus on freezing is great in most cases, sludge gun is great if you focus its build around DoT power and charged shots. It’s also great with the microwave gun in general but also on dreadnoughts to stack a disgusting slow effect on them. Always use flamethrower if the mission has anything to do with robots
As you play all the classes to their first promotion, you'll get a better feeling for what your favorite class is. Most people hate engi earlygame, but after getting their promotion, it becomes top 2 at the least for a lot of players lol
Engi stayed as my least favorite until I started using Turret EM Discharge, and since then he is tied with gunner for least favorite (if not a little higher). That is to say, you might not like engi at first, but with the amount of variety in his builds you can definately find one that fits you.

1:00 I spent a good amount of time thinking "Why the driller and the gunner have no beards on their default visuals? It's 50% of the dwarves, which are supposed to value beards a lot!" . Weeks after starting playing, I was working and carrying on with my life, when it suddently hit me: rotating parts! The driller and the gunner both work with spinning machinery, the drills and the mini gun! Guess the threat of having the face skinned brutally is enough to make a dwarf shaving for a while.

Bro didn't even get to mention each class has three main and three secondary weapons, along with four different throwables. All just...get unlocked by playing and have their own mini skill tree. AND THATS BEFORE you prestige em up and completely change how all these guns works. Picked the game up this year and I'm legit like obsessed.
As a dwarf with over 800 hours let me add to your points: First, the game gets updated in themed "seasons" which bring major changes and new stuff, for example: - Season 1: RIVAL INCURSION (Rivals aka enemy robots have appeared, we have no idea what their intentions are except for taking the ore and data in the planet and perhaps sell it, we can't let them get away with this) - Season 2: RIVAL ESCALATION (Rivals have doubled down on power, now they've even made a new enemy against dwarves, the nemesis! We need to be able to push past these efforts!) - Season 3: [Current] PLAGUEFALL (While we've managed to somewhat push back the rivals, a new threath has made its way to Hoxxes! Behold, a meteor is releasing fragments with a plague, Rockpox! this plague contaminates the area around it, corrupting the very ground it stands on, and even mutating some of the wildlife. It is very agressive and while no contamination against dwarves has happened yet, we have to cleanse this before it gets out of hand!) Next, thanks to the various updates, there are lots of weapons (both primary and secondary) as well as grenades for each of the classes! it goes without saying that all of the guns have overclocks too! - Gunner: Main primary being leadstorm (minigun), then thunderhead (artillery cannon), and lastly the hurricane (guided rocket system) secondary are Bulldog (revolver like gun), BRT7 (burst uzi sort of), Arms Coil Gun (pocket sized war crime) grenades are spiky grenade (sticks and explodes, potent), incendiary grenade (MOLOTOV!), Cluster Grenade (cluster grenade), tactical leadburster (gun grenade... yes) - Scout: Main primary being Deepcore GK2 (combat rifle), M1000 Classic (like the colonials used to have), Drak-25 (PLASMA RIFLE!) secondary are Boomstick (small shotgun), Zhukov (dual uzis), Boltshark (crossbow... They change once a week and can only obtian cores once from its completion... Also each level is uniquely the same, mission one from this week will always have the same place for enemy spawns, location of rooms, etc, mission two will have it's own, and mission three likewise, so if you know how each level is, you can speedrun through it. You get blank cores (used to obtain overclocks from events that need a key from your promotion), weapon OC (already has a weapon implemented so you can build it), Cosmetic OC (you can build this too, some drip is only unlocked like this). While both deepdives and elite are three levels long, the difficulty is what changes... deepdives have only 2 hazards and are Haz 3, Haz 3.5, Haz 3.5. Elite deepdive however are 2-3 hazards and Haz 4.5, Haz 5, Haz 5.5. Mind you that the highest difficulty that can normally be accessed on the map is 5! so these are for the best of the best. Now going back to seasons, every season has a battle pass *_FREE_* aka you already can access the stuff you just have to play! There's a tree with cosmetics and loot, winning poses, etc... However in the case you didn't finish the season battle pass, the stuff will be able to be found in armor crates (you'll hear beeping from 2 batteries close to it, find them, install them and blam, free cosmetic stuff and some minerals). lost equipment (a slower beeping is heard from a helmet, scan it and you will find a purple dot in your map "hold tab to see map" then dig it and get the minerals and cosmetic), and even the shop at the space rig. Also all the DLC is cosmetic, i personally am missing only dawn of the dread and Robot Rebellion, if you have the money to spare, i'd recommend getting the supporter DLCs first, they upgrade two of your beers and give you the gold color for armor, and pickaxe as well as new helmet and armor itself... it also lets anyone know that you are supporting the game (noticeable by a yellow name and a pickaxe at the side). If anyone needs help learning anything (maybe strats or enemy info) feel free to ask the people at the official Discord server, some of them are number wizards who can advice you on the most gigachad sets available

Another great vid! I'd argue that the Engineer is the DPS class due to having turrets and decent armaments, the Gunner, weirdly, is more of the tank with deployable shields to soak up damage while the team rescues a fallen d0rf...but the minigun helps!

oh, you have no idea how many people are steadily discovering DRG, I've been watching it happen more and more since season 3 started. It does cosmetics, battlepass paid DLC and updates right (quality over just pumping something out once a month) just don't look at Driller Grenade 4... just because it's a good bit of love put in doesn't mean all later things are better. Actually that makes the game feel even more interesting as it's not ONE set meta for any character or weapon even.
Yeah, the high will last for a few hundred hours. And if you really like the game, it'll last even longer. But if you are super dedicated to the game, you'll finish it, which might take like 1.2k hours. However, the longer you play, the more faults you see in this game. Enjoy it for now while everything is fresh, and don't take your early moments for granted. Cherish every moment!

One very cool thing with DRGs battlepass that i like is that once the season ends, all of its drip that you haven't unlocked yet is added to the loot crates, packs and overclocks drop pool, the former 2 can be found randomly in each mission that the latter is earned after promoting a dwarf at least once, meaning that even if you didn't have time to complete it, you can still earn them later down the line, there's no such thing as fear of missing out! That aside welcome to the crew, wish the best of luck in your quest to explore your creativity with the other weapons, granades and overclocks that you can get your hands on when Management has given the promotion that you rightfully have earned. Just got into this game as well, and I like that you mentioned you don't like the engineer class. I picked the game up to play with my brothers, and I loved the Gunner. I assumed everybody would want to play the Gunner. Turns out it's technically the least popular, but by a small margin. The classes are all so fun and unique, that the community has basically come to equilibrium on its own. (Even with my brothers, one plays Driller, one plays Engineer).
I was introduced to this game when one of my brothers gifted it to me 2021's Christmas. It's definitely the most fun game I've played in recent years. Sometimes the three of us and my oldest brother's wife or his friend from Brazil come together to play some missions. They're all Greybeards so we very often play on the highest difficulty which I still struggle with. 5:32 My oldest brother also tried to get me to stand underneath the resup pod but I was too smart for him. Quote: "You're not gonna get me to stand underneath that pod, I'm autistic, not r_t_rded." I hope you stick around long enough to make another video about it. And remember these rules three: Don't leave Doretta's head behind, Leave no dwarf behind, And the Bulk Detonator is your friend. :) Rock and Stone!
The best part is that everything you talked about is literally just the early game experience. Every class has 2 other primary and 2 other secondary weapons to unlock along with more throwables (grenades) and an entire list of overclocks that can completely change how a weapon works. Wish the grenade launcher had more punch and have dreams of cosplaying as a dwarf in fallout? Fat Boy has you covered by turning the grenade launcher into a NUCLEAR grenade launcher complete with mushroom cloud and radioactive fallout.
I feel the same thing, I had played it once during a free weekend and liked it but then bought it about a year later. I'm still learning the ropes while having 160 hours (many failed missions and understanding how the game/mechanics works). And it has such a cool community, I've played with high level players and they're nice and helpful too. Hope we get to play with eachother one day, same with all the people in the comments.
Started playing this game a few weeks ago with my friend and it has been incredible. We've dumped dozens of hours into the game and haven't been bored in the slightest. There are still a million things we haven't discovered yet. The only thing I can say in addition to your video is that you kept talking about the scout's shotgun, or the driller's flamethrower etc., and didn't mention that you can get multiple more different guns for the classes like SMGs for the scout or a Cryo Cannon for the driller. Great video though, I subscribed and I cannot wait for you to release more!
Deep Rock Galactic my beloved Scout gets a shotgun upgrade that lets you launch yourself across the map with one shot that emphasizes how this game has the best aerial movement system outside of titanfall 2.

I picked up this game on sale over Christmas break, to get a break from another game I play, and I’ve just fallen in love with it. My friends were wanting me to pick it up for awhile, and it just scratches so many itches at once. You got your Minecraft cave and dungeon crawling, with your playable hub like VerminTide (you could get drunk and into fist fights in that one around specific events), while having that satisfying L4D feeling of barely scraping by.
I got it on sale yesterday at the time of writing this. You're not the only one who hates himself for not playing sooner, 2 hours in and I am hooked. DRG is one of those games that's a light in the darkness for gaming in this day and age.
Literally yesterday a friend asked to try the game together and while on a discord call together and I went through the tutorial I joined his hub and after he showed me around the hub and the minigames my exact reaction was "2 questions, how long have you been playing this game and why didn't we play this game sooner" I am in love with it and can't wait to get done with work to go back home and play more

Worth noting: Scout's slowdown grenade makes enemies take 30% more damage and counts as electrocution so even tho it doesn't deal electric damage it boosts damage of weapons that deal bonus damage to electrocuted and such targets

A Deep Dive is basically 3 missions in a row without breaks, and your HP, ammo, and Nitra carry over for all of them. If you barely scrap by one mission, you’ll be that depleted for the start of next one too.
There’s a few other differences like difficulty scaling & secondary objectives but that’s the general summary.

I play all 4 classes but engineer was my first, and you never forget your first. He is the most fun to me because of the resource managing. And all the AI shit you get later in the game, he is the smort one of the group. In a solo eng. mission I have 2 turrets, a drone swarm, a S.M.A.R.T. rifle, B.O.S.C.O. and Steve. Yea, "solo" mission. Great game, I've been playing since 2018 and it is so nice to see the love this game has. R&S!

I’m an ancient man in internet age, and this game brought back that magical feeling of being a kid in the nineties playing couch cooperative games with the little homies having a brain blasting amount of fun with no drugs.
And that’s been me just playing with ransoms, I can’t imagine how fun it would be to play with actual friends if any of mine still played games
I for one am getting my friend group into it now. Since Helldiver's 2 came out, and fact I'm an XBOX player, made me crave DRG and now my buddies are installing it.
It's even cross play but only for XBOX and PC
This game is amazing, and gave me one of the most visceral experiences I've had playing a game (especially one that isn't horror). My friends who I usually played it with weren't on, so I ran some missions alone. My first time going to the sand caves. Everything is pretty normal, until I walk out of a tunnel into this total pitch black. Now up until this point, since I hadn't played a lot, I thought all of the caves were relatively small. So I throw my flare, and it goes off a cliff, and *NOTHING* gets illuminated. Not the roof, not the walls. Nothing but pillars of sand, as the flare drops to the floor, and still barely illuminates any of the room. So I grab my flare gun, launch it upwards, and it sticks into the roof. And the room is MASSIVE. many, many times bigger than any of the rooms I had encountered before, and instantly there's tons of Glyphids on the roof and walls all climbing straight at me. It genuinely gave me that stomach sinking feeling you get in a horror game or a rollercoaster. I think it's part of why I got so addicted to the game, cause it had genuinely shocked me

The game does expand significantly after the first promotion, unlocking dormant cave events, Deep Dives, and overclocks. Making efficient builds with the overclocks that RNG gave you to be able to consistently complete Elite Deep Dives is quite a rabbit hole (they are Hazard 5.5 in the final mission).
Engineer is my main class because he has portable nukes, a railgun, a Death Star superlaser, and a goddamn AI-powered smart rifle that aims itself and also explodes bugs. Turrets aren't his main source of damage, they are more for area denial against squishy bugs like swarmers and naedocytes. With a proper loadout you can have an entire team of companions that fight for you: Bosco, turrets, hacked Shredder drones from the SSG grenade, and Steeve, while also having the highest burst damage guns in the game. That said, every class gets insanely strong with some good overclocks and a well thought out loadout. Karl.gg is a good webpage to gather ideas from.
Modding scene for this game exists and is something else entirely. If you ever wanted to know what Hazard 7 would look like, there are mods for that.

@@kel_ski Late reply, but mods in DRG are separated to 3 categories, Verified, Approved and Sandbox.
Verified mods are mostly client-side, meaning only you can see and use the mod unless other players also have it.
(Such as music replacement mods and QoL mods)
Approved mods are ones that slightly alter the gameplay and progression of the game from my experience, they can be from multiple MULEs in one mission or Bosco in multiplayer, even to more than 4 players!
Sandbox mods are mods that drastically affect the progression, such as more exp.
I use verified mods mostly because they increase the replayability of the game and just makes it more fun trying new things out, Rock and Stone!
As a driller, I want you to know that as long as you have fuel there is no wrong way to the drop pod, just the long way and your way.
1) Don't worry. I also hate myself for not playing this game earlier.
2) please continue with the game, because it doesn't end there. Trust me. I've played for 100 hours and I barely scratched the full Drg experience

@@zaidsharieff-s6s Cryo gun with a focus on freezing is great in most cases, sludge gun is great if you focus its build around DoT power and charged shots. It’s also great with the microwave gun in general but also on dreadnoughts to stack a disgusting slow effect on them. Always use flamethrower if the mission has anything to do with robots

As you play all the classes to their first promotion, you'll get a better feeling for what your favorite class is. Most people hate engi earlygame, but after getting their promotion, it becomes top 2 at the least for a lot of players lol
Unlocking the breach cutter tends to change people's opinion. Even more so once they get the shard diffractor.

Engi stayed as my least favorite until I started using Turret EM Discharge, and since then he is tied with gunner for least favorite (if not a little higher). That is to say, you might not like engi at first, but with the amount of variety in his builds you can definately find one that fits you.

Weeks after starting playing, I was working and carrying on with my life, when it suddently hit me: rotating parts! The driller and the gunner both work with spinning machinery, the drills and the mini gun!
Guess the threat of having the face skinned brutally is enough to make a dwarf shaving for a while.

Love seeing the dozens of “why you should play Drg” and “why wasn’t I playing this sooner” videos games truly getting all the love it deserves.
As a dwarf with over 800 hours let me add to your points:
First, the game gets updated in themed "seasons" which bring major changes and new stuff, for example:
- Season 1: RIVAL INCURSION (Rivals aka enemy robots have appeared, we have no idea what their intentions are except for taking the ore and data in the planet and perhaps sell it, we can't let them get away with this)
- Season 2: RIVAL ESCALATION (Rivals have doubled down on power, now they've even made a new enemy against dwarves, the nemesis! We need to be able to push past these efforts!)
- Season 3: [Current] PLAGUEFALL (While we've managed to somewhat push back the rivals, a new threath has made its way to Hoxxes! Behold, a meteor is releasing fragments with a plague, Rockpox! this plague contaminates the area around it, corrupting the very ground it stands on, and even mutating some of the wildlife. It is very agressive and while no contamination against dwarves has happened yet, we have to cleanse this before it gets out of hand!)
Next, thanks to the various updates, there are lots of weapons (both primary and secondary) as well as grenades for each of the classes! it goes without saying that all of the guns have overclocks too!
- Gunner: Main primary being leadstorm (minigun), then thunderhead (artillery cannon), and lastly the hurricane (guided rocket system)
secondary are Bulldog (revolver like gun), BRT7 (burst uzi sort of), Arms Coil Gun (pocket sized war crime)
grenades are spiky grenade (sticks and explodes, potent), incendiary grenade (MOLOTOV!), Cluster Grenade (cluster grenade), tactical leadburster (gun grenade... yes)
- Scout: Main primary being Deepcore GK2 (combat rifle), M1000 Classic (like the colonials used to have), Drak-25 (PLASMA RIFLE!)
secondary are Boomstick (small shotgun), Zhukov (dual uzis), Boltshark (crossbow... Scout is literally getting more and more primitive)
grenades are IFG (slowdown plus electric status, pairs with Zhukov boost), Cryonade (ice ice baby), Pheromone (Nut grenade), voltaic Stun Sweeper (Australia boomerang man)
- Engineer: primary Warthog (assault shotgun), Stubby (electric smg), LOK-1 (Autoaim is yes)
secondary are Deepcore PGL (grenade launcha), Breach Cutter (Butter-like Laser cutter), Shard Diffractor (literally from the Omaran Heartstone... from the escort mission. WHO HOOO!)
grenades are LURE (funny shrek dance mod for this nade btw), Plasma Burster (it burns), Proxy mine (minesweeper is real), SSG (reprogrammed shredder drones from rivals that are now yours)
- Driller: Primary CRSPR Flamethrower (flammenwerfer), Cryo Cannon (you left the AC on), Sludge Pump (pumping it if you know what i mean)
secondary are Subata (arguably the worst gun if you have bad aim), EPC (now all the classes have plasma weapons), Colette (Microwave)
grenades are Impact Axe (yeet), HE grenade (let him cook), neurotoxin grenade (flamable), Springloaded Ripper (Free Bird♫)
*And fyi* for lategame there's deepdives and elite deepdives, basically as long as you've promoted any class at least once, you can use them to dive deep for three levels with strangers or alone. They change once a week and can only obtian cores once from its completion... Also each level is uniquely the same, mission one from this week will always have the same place for enemy spawns, location of rooms, etc, mission two will have it's own, and mission three likewise, so if you know how each level is, you can speedrun through it.
You get blank cores (used to obtain overclocks from events that need a key from your promotion), weapon OC (already has a weapon implemented so you can build it), Cosmetic OC (you can build this too, some drip is only unlocked like this). While both deepdives and elite are three levels long, the difficulty is what changes... deepdives have only 2 hazards and are Haz 3, Haz 3.5, Haz 3.5.
Elite deepdive however are 2-3 hazards and Haz 4.5, Haz 5, Haz 5.5. Mind you that the highest difficulty that can normally be accessed on the map is 5! so these are for the best of the best.
Now going back to seasons, every season has a battle pass *_FREE_* aka you already can access the stuff you just have to play! There's a tree with cosmetics and loot, winning poses, etc... However in the case you didn't finish the season battle pass, the stuff will be able to be found in armor crates (you'll hear beeping from 2 batteries close to it, find them, install them and blam, free cosmetic stuff and some minerals). lost equipment (a slower beeping is heard from a helmet, scan it and you will find a purple dot in your map "hold tab to see map" then dig it and get the minerals and cosmetic), and even the shop at the space rig.
Also all the DLC is cosmetic, i personally am missing only dawn of the dread and Robot Rebellion, if you have the money to spare, i'd recommend getting the supporter DLCs first, they upgrade two of your beers and give you the gold color for armor, and pickaxe as well as new helmet and armor itself... it also lets anyone know that you are supporting the game (noticeable by a yellow name and a pickaxe at the side).
If anyone needs help learning anything (maybe strats or enemy info) feel free to ask the people at the official Discord server, some of them are number wizards who can advice you on the most gigachad sets available

Another great vid! I'd argue that the Engineer is the DPS class due to having turrets and decent armaments, the Gunner, weirdly, is more of the tank with deployable shields to soak up damage while the team rescues a fallen d0rf...but the minigun helps!

oh, you have no idea how many people are steadily discovering DRG, I've been watching it happen more and more since season 3 started. It does cosmetics, battlepass paid DLC and updates right (quality over just pumping something out once a month) just don't look at Driller Grenade 4... just because it's a good bit of love put in doesn't mean all later things are better.
Actually that makes the game feel even more interesting as it's not ONE set meta for any character or weapon even.

But if you are super dedicated to the game, you'll finish it, which might take like 1.2k hours.

One very cool thing with DRGs battlepass that i like is that once the season ends, all of its drip that you haven't unlocked yet is added to the loot crates, packs and overclocks drop pool, the former 2 can be found randomly in each mission that the latter is earned after promoting a dwarf at least once, meaning that even if you didn't have time to complete it, you can still earn them later down the line, there's no such thing as fear of missing out!
That aside welcome to the crew, wish the best of luck in your quest to explore your creativity with the other weapons, granades and overclocks that you can get your hands on when Management has given the promotion that you rightfully have earned. Rock and Stone Brother!
Just got into this game as well, and I like that you mentioned you don't like the engineer class.
I picked the game up to play with my brothers, and I loved the Gunner. I assumed everybody would want to play the Gunner.
Turns out it's technically the least popular, but by a small margin. The classes are all so fun and unique, that the community has basically come to equilibrium on its own. (Even with my brothers, one plays Driller, one plays Engineer).
I was introduced to this game when one of my brothers gifted it to me 2021's Christmas. It's definitely the most fun game I've played in recent years.
Sometimes the three of us and my oldest brother's wife or his friend from Brazil come together to play some missions.
They're all Greybeards so we very often play on the highest difficulty which I still struggle with.

The best part is that everything you talked about is literally just the early game experience. Every class has 2 other primary and 2 other secondary weapons to unlock along with more throwables (grenades) and an entire list of overclocks that can completely change how a weapon works. Wish the grenade launcher had more punch and have dreams of cosplaying as a dwarf in fallout? Fat Boy has you covered by turning the grenade launcher into a NUCLEAR grenade launcher complete with mushroom cloud and radioactive fallout.

I've noticed a ton more greenbeards lately. I love to see it DRG deserves all the love.
I feel the same thing, I had played it once during a free weekend and liked it but then bought it about a year later. I'm still learning the ropes while having 160 hours (many failed missions and understanding how the game/mechanics works). And it has such a cool community, I've played with high level players and they're nice and helpful too. Hope we get to play with eachother one day, same with all the people in the comments.
Started playing this game a few weeks ago with my friend and it has been incredible. We've dumped dozens of hours into the game and haven't been bored in the slightest. There are still a million things we haven't discovered yet. The only thing I can say in addition to your video is that you kept talking about the scout's shotgun, or the driller's flamethrower etc., and didn't mention that you can get multiple more different guns for the classes like SMGs for the scout or a Cryo Cannon for the driller. Great video though, I subscribed and I cannot wait for you to release more!

I picked up this game on sale over Christmas break, to get a break from another game I play, and I’ve just fallen in love with it. My friends were wanting me to pick it up for awhile, and it just scratches so many itches at once.

I got it on sale yesterday at the time of writing this. You're not the only one who hates himself for not playing sooner, 2 hours in and I am hooked. DRG is one of those games that's a light in the darkness for gaming in this day and age.

Literally yesterday a friend asked to try the game together and while on a discord call together and I went through the tutorial I joined his hub and after he showed me around the hub and the minigames my exact reaction was "2 questions, how long have you been playing this game and why didn't we play this game sooner" I am in love with it and can't wait to get done with work to go back home and play more
