I posted this in another video of Mitch, and I’ll say it here. I was in the Rivercenter Mall in San Antonio some years ago. I got to see him live with Stephen Lynch a few months before he passed. It was the funniest show I've ever seen, even though he was so wasted on something that he was only half there for the show. Here's some of my favourite jokes he did that were not from CDs (as far as I can remember) -- - When a joke landed flat, he poked his head through the big red curtain he was in front of and said "Hey look, there's another audience back here, and they think I'm hilarious. Hello other audience, I'm wearing the world's biggest cape." - There was a speaker on the stage that was like a little box on the ground. So he walks up to it and goes "What is this, some kind of shoe analyzer?" and proceeds to put his shoe on top of the box, and then says "Analyze this." - He started to tell a joke about a dolphin but got distracted and never said the punchline. I always remembered that he had a secret dolphin joke and tried to find it, but it wasn't anywhere. One day my sister found it on a LiveJournal page quoting comedians, no idea where they heard him say it, but it apparently went something like this: "Dolphins have a reputation for being smart, but there's gotta be at least a few dumbass dolphins out there. And I'm gonna find them... probably in a lake." RIP Mitch, you were a formative piece of my early humor and even after watching every episode of Friday Night Standup growing up, I still think you're the funniest comedian I've ever seen.
I think the genius of Mitch Hedberg was that he constructed jokes that basically only he could get away with. It wasn't the jokes but the way he told them. Anyone else doing them wouldn't be funny because they didn't seem to be written to be funny jokes in and of themselves. It's like a professional telling amateur jokes extremely well and selling it. That was his power.
It sometimes takes a bit for the audience to catch up, even a second or two sometimes... but they eventually get the joke and laugh.. that's how you know he's telling an original joke... ...which Mitch always did.
His comedy special was like that. He floundered around for about 30 minutes with a dead crowd and they finally started catching on and by the end they were rolling
For me, it's not the joke itself that makes it funny. It's his voice and his delivery. He was too critical of himself at times, but he was truly unique. RIP
Remember his "That 70's Show" appearance. Mitch..."I did not lose a leg in Vietnam to put up with you kids" Kelso..."You didn't lose a leg in Vietnam" Mitch..."I know, that's what I said, I did not lose a leg in Vietnam"😃🤣😂 RIP Mitch

The second part killed me 'there should be people splattered all around the door'. That just busted me up.
The "donate to charity" pizza slice joke is one of my favorites of all time.
I love “I went to the doctor and all he did was suck blood out of my neck. Do NOT go see Dr Acula!”
My boyfriend told me that my sense of humor reminded him of Mitch. That's the first time I found out about him. He's a gem.
He has a cool gf
I've been happy before, but I've never been anywhere near as happy as mitch looks when the audience laughs at his jokes
Well said

Mitch was so ahead of the times with his comedy, his jokes remind me exactly of someone reading off funny little joke tweets
People were not ready for him yet. A lot went over their heads. He would be huge right now!!
Him and Norm MacDonald would have been phenomenal together. Norm really enjoyed his material.
What are you talking about? Don’t you hear the wild laughter in these clips?
I don't think I'm alone when I say this: When I watch a video of Mitch Hedberg, I find myself applauding his best jokes. MAYA - you put toigether some of his best material. Thanks from all Mitch Hedberg fans!
Great compilation. Thank you. Mitch is my all-time favorite comedian. RIP.
You don’t have to be sorry-it’s 3 am, and you’re a dry cleaner
"I said, fuck that, I'll just make a copy"
dude was in a class by himself
The substitute teachers definitely made sure to ask if Mitch was in the classes before taking the shift.
I bet he was lonely.
He looked around and said "man, I'm early"
King of an era.

Loved this cat for years
My husband and I just LOVED Mitch. We miss him very much, there's no one like him.
He died way too soon. Really under-appreciated, I love his “throw-away” joke style.
I got to see him live with Stephen Lynch a few months before he passed. It was the funniest show I've ever seen, even though he was so wasted on something that he was only half there for the show. Here's some of my favourite jokes he did that were not from CDs (as far as I can remember) --
- When a joke landed flat, he poked his head through the big red curtain he was in front of and said "Hey look, there's another audience back here, and they think I'm hilarious. Hello other audience, I'm wearing the world's biggest cape."
- There was a speaker on the stage that was like a little box on the ground. So he walks up to it and goes "What is this, some kind of shoe analyzer?" and proceeds to put his shoe on top of the box, and then says "Analyze this."
- He started to tell a joke about a dolphin but got distracted and never said the punchline. I always remembered that he had a secret dolphin joke and tried to find it, but it wasn't anywhere. One day my sister found it on a LiveJournal page quoting comedians, no idea where they heard him say it, but it apparently went something like this:
"Dolphins have a reputation for being smart, but there's gotta be at least a few dumbass dolphins out there. And I'm gonna find them... probably in a lake."
RIP Mitch, you were a formative piece of my early humor and even after watching every episode of Friday Night Standup growing up, I still think you're the funniest comedian I've ever seen.
Found that dolphin joke on a video cam recorded college show here ruclips.net/video/tXHfge_kCS8/видео.htmlsi=6a5p6I92npG3FepB
The club sandwich joke is simply a perfect joke. And the dry-clean only joke. **chef’s kiss**
It’s like you’re telling the joke to yourself cause u find it amusing, 😂 absurdist humour word play.
No, the jokes were funny in and of themselves.
One of my favorite comedians. His humor was just so great.
RIP
"Best of Mitch Hedberg" first 2 minutes are unedited footage of Mitch doing standup on a late night show. 100% adds up 😂
Mitch is an American treasure too sad he is gone. Thank you for the video haven’t seen any of these jokes for a while
I really love Mitch. I miss him. Such talent and such a beautiful spirit. ✨
Remember his "That 70's Show" appearance.
Mitch..."I did not lose a leg in Vietnam to put up with you kids"
Kelso..."You didn't lose a leg in Vietnam"
Mitch..."I know, that's what I said, I did not lose a leg in Vietnam"😃🤣😂 RIP Mitch
Good job absolutely BUTCHERING that quote
I miss this guy, man. He was a legend. Rest In Peace, Mitch.

You cannot call something the best of Mitch and only be 7 minutes. When absolutely everything he has done is the best.
I just heard of him in the last 6 months on Sirius Radio. Funniest delivery ever!! I heard his joke “if i was walking down the sidewalk with tight rope walker and he tripped and fell, that would be totally unacceptable!” I laughed for about 45 minutes.
I read it and thought...why are you laughing at that...and then it hit me...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@jeniferallan6693- Help me…
He was so incredibly gently funny.
I love the way you worded that. Perfect!
Poor man was so nervous even though we loved him. One of my favorite comedians of all time.❤
I remember seeing his CC special in Jr high and trying to copy his delivery for a week not a good attempt guy is a legend can't re-watch his material enough
If the pizza were a pie chart for what you would do if you won a million dollars, he gave me the 'donate it to charity' slice.
I want the "Keep it" slice.

He should have been a regular selling the food at "The Hub" in That 70s Show.
Yes.
Michael Ares “I didn’t go to Vietnam for this”
“You didn’t go to Vietnam”
“Yea that’s what I said, I didn’t go to Vietnam for this”
Michael Ares fuck ya he was great!!
@@rosswhitlock3025 Its actually
"I did not go to Vietnam so that i could serve hotdogs to teenagers."
"You have both your legs Frank"
"Like i said i did not lose a leg in Vietnam."
Buy something or get out!! Lol
I still just love how wholesome his humor was.
The neighbor in the "go around" joke was nick dipallo. He used to even write "dipallo" on set lists for that joke
my little brother put me on to mitch hedberg, he was lucky enough to see him live right before he passed. r.i.p.
Definitely one of the great stand-up writers and performers of all time.
Randomly in my recommended. And I've never loved the algorithm so much
“I find that ducks’ opinion of me is very much influenced over whether or not I have bread.”
…same with women, Mitch. Same with women.
There will never be anyone like Mitch.
Why does he make me cry sometimes?
I was drunk the other night listening to comedy tracks on my phone and I legit went from happy to sad when he came up.
I like to throw a toothpick into a forest and shout, "You're home!"
my brain hurts ... from these smart jokes
His mind was next level in how he deconstructed and reverse-engineered the World...
