This was the definitive video for me out of all of the videos. I have a 2009 Rabbit which is the final model year and I guess they implemented those metal pencil-like rods somewhere near that year because on other videos, people are able to just screw the housing off and just pull the lightbulb from there but you have to pull the metal rods on my model year to loosen the bulb and then you pull it out.
I don't know about other countries but in the UK the outside headlights are dipped and the inner ones high beam. The sidelights are in the outer, dipped position.
which one is the second Sidelight mentioned at 0:20 Is it the High beam bulb 0:44 ? Is it the Dip beam bulb 1:15 ? Or the side light mentioned at 2:09 ? Please help.
wasn't sure about the High beam bulb; mine are very tight and i wasn't sure if there is a release tab; evidently there is no release tab, so just gently wiggle-and-pull until it comes loose... 👍

No connection is required. Power is shared from short distance bulb through an internal connection
