Allow me to go on a tangent that is mildly related to this: So, Mobius 1 became a part of the IUN peacekeeeping force post AC4, and fought against Free Erusia twice, in AC5 arcade and AC7 VR. In the VR missions, I think, Omega 11 references that Mobius is "old" or "older", so we can assume he's a getting close to retirement at around the time of the VR missions. Perhaps following the campaign, he decides to take it easy, and become a flight instructor for the IUN. Flash forward 5 years to the Lighthouse war (AC7), and we're introduced to Trigger, the newest member of the IUN-PKF Mage Squadron. Trigger, in his very first engagement, easily downs a whole squadron of bombers and their escorts almost single handedly, and obviously goes on to become the top Ace of the war. Head canon: Much like Mihaly trained Yellow 13, Mobius 1 trained Trigger. To take it a step further, I wonder if he trained him one on one.
@@jamesharris4695 What evidence do you have for that? Mobius 1 and Trigger both served as part of the IUN Peacekeeping force, and they both end up flying the F-22 as their canon Aircraft. This is another similarity to the relationship between Mihaly and Yellow 13. They both flew advanced canard-equipped Flankers in a 5-ship formation. There's nothing that ties Blaze and Trigger together besides service in the Osean Air Force. Yet Blaze obviously didn't fight for Osea for the entirety of AC5. On top of that we don't know if Blaze even returned to the military. There's just not enough there to connect him to Trigger. Meanwhile, it's entirely possible and even likely that Mobius 1 and Trigger have met. They serve the same organization. They operate in the same theater of war. Their ages line up well enough. They even fly the same aircraft.

I actually support this theory. It’s said in AC7 that he was the top ace from two wars ago. If you only count the Usean continent, that means two wars ago would be the events of AC2. Who was the top ace? Scarface 1. Plus he literally has a scar on his face. And it doesn’t take away from any of the other facts that we now know about him either, because even though they say his last combat mission was in 1991, Scarface 1 was a mercenary. Meaning that records of his time as a merc are probably not readily available. Headcannon: Mihaly is Scarface 1.

I love hidden meanings in the mission. You attack Shilage castle taking out their army, eventually sieging the castle, so the kings guard (Sol squadron) takes off to defend the keep. But they start to notice that they are loosing, so the king himself arrives to defend his keep, sacrificing himself for others.
Not really. You lay waste to his domain, killing civilians in the process and while everyone trying to defend them, the only thing Mihaly cares is killing Trigger. Not leading Sol squadron, not his kingdom - only being up in the skies with opponent pushing him beyond his limits. Skies and battles are the only things he cares about.
SO, if Mihaly was 13's instructor, and we can assume that Mihaly had an equal, if not greater, skill level than 13, and Trigger managed to shoot down not only Mihaly, but drones equipped with AI based on his skills... ...could we assume that Trigger is as good, if not greater, than that of Mobius 1?
He may have trained "Y13", but at this time "Y13" was young and hasn't reached his full potential yet. Means, when we fought him, maybe he'd been equal to Mihaly. Meanwhile in AC7, Mihaly's body and skills detoriated... "Y13" could easily have been better or just as good. Wouldn't be the first time the student beats the mentor.
I think Trigger has already proven himself capable of more than Mobius 1 ever did before even making that connection. Either way, it doesn't matter because ultimately, all protagonist characters are the same.
Well since player character ace always canonically defeats his nemesis, Mobius 1 ; Blaze ; Cipher ; Garuda 1 ; Trigger ; Gryphus 1 are all better then Mihaly
It's less of a power-level problem and more of a tier problem. Main character Aces > Enemy Aces. That's just how the story works. It makes it hard to measure how an enemy ace of one generation might measure up to an enemy ace of another generation. That said, the Belkan scientist did point out that Mihaly was STILL evolving his skills, even at his age.
Sometimes you compare an ace by who he kills. Other times by how many. In that regard, Cypher is generally accepted as Ace Combat's best for canonically taking down at least 5 ace squadrons and more than 10 in gameplay. However, Mobius 1 is also recognized as the strongest for taking down the Yellow Squadron, which alone was extremely powerful. More than that, his bomber skills are by far the best, from the number of ground targets destroyed. This is all opinion, though. Since they never canonically fought each other in skill competitions, we have no way to know.

If you take out the drones that are attacking the rest of skeleton squadron you can follow brownie (may she rest in piece) and the other pilot and watch mihaly take them both out
I have questions: 1) why did Mother Goose 1 turn around and head back to the elevator? 2) what ever happened with those Osean traitors, like that F16 that shot down the Erusean General in that night mission? EDIT: 3rd question - Why doesn't Trigger speak? EDIT 2: so if I'm understanding it right with Harling, we fired our missile at a drone at the same moment a F18 drone behind us fired its missile at Harling, and the missiles were just so close that it looked like our missile that hit him?
1) MG1 turn around by Harling's will beacuse he wanted defend the Elevator. 2) The Erusean general was shot down because we wasn't idenfied as ally in time.
Mihaly did train Yellow 13 but in Ace Combat 3D whilst fighting the ERU rebel squadron > the leader makes a remark that that phoenix reminded him of one of his pupils hinting at yellow 13. Just saying maybe yellow 13 had been previously trained by him before meeting mihaly

I knew it. His fighting style is nearly the same as his student but more. Friendly hint for nuggets who have not finished the campaign, during Mission 18 if you see your HUD start to stutter, you hear a charging sound & you see a red line on the map, DIVE or CLIMB if you wanna live.

In the Invasion of Farbanti I think our AWACS made a comment saying "I'll take you all out for Italien dinner tonight" Ok soo Italy is no such thing in Strangereal so therefore food like these shouldn't either, IDK if developers didn't think on it, or just went with and forgot. But I guess thats a mistake.
In another Ace Combat (forgot which one, think it was Belkan War) someone also says "my plane has been swiss cheesed" even though there is no Switzerland in Strangereal.

Originally I had a theory that Mihaly was actually Galm 1. Because if you think about it, they said he was the top Ace from two wars before, which would mean The Belkan War. The reason I think this is: •During the Belkan War, Galm 1 and Pixy have a final joust, signifying the fact that they are the last knights of the round table. •During the final battle with Mihaly, it's almost reminiscent of the joust between Pixy and Galm 1, head on fight with the EML. •Galm 1 completely disappeared after the end of the war. And there are mentions to the Belkan War, like the seven nukes on Belkan soil. •During the final battle with Mihaly, Sol Squadron (the knights) take off to defend the castle and Mihaly (the King), but after heavy losses, Mihaly comes in to defend his knights, and sacrifices himself for them to live. It's kinda retelling the story of the final battle at Avalon Dam. (Kind of a late night tired, me and friend got talking theory.) •(This one being a bit of a unofficial theory), if the ADFX-01 Morgan is actually one of the DLC jets, it could of meant his past is finally coming to back to see him, being, Pixy seeing Galm 1 again like he said "thanks friend, see you again". •Another thing that kinda helps support this is his age. Let's say during Zero, he was 34, about the max age of being a pilot. Now you add in the 15 year inter war period that leads to the events of 5, he's now 49. Now you add in the 9 year space between 5 and 7, and now he's 58. About the right age for 7, and given how old he looks, he may look older due to all the stress of flying. But give or take a few years he's about the right age. I know this is a crazy, and all over the place theory, and Im only pointing out key reasons, but at the same time, it makes some sense if you really think about it.

Can you do one for Spare Squadron, like on the crimes each member committed to get thrown into a penal unit? In the game I only got that Count was convicted of fraud and Tabloid was convicted of treason for throwing that rock and spreading "propaganda".
Nobody seems to talking about it but everyone in spare squadron seems to be good pilots. One of them even pulled a cobra against mihaly, in an F18 too. That's honestly impressive enough on its own.
I know there really isnt a way for me to prove it, but I heard an interesting radio transmission in Ace Combat 4 that references him. During Megalith, I was mopping up Yellow Squadron before proceeding on to Megalith, and one Yellow Squad member says "Good work Mihaly" or... something to that effect. I honestly dont know if anyone else ever got that radio transmission while doing Megalith, but it was interesting to hear. This was also on a still working PS2 version, not an emulation, or save off the web. I get it if this is taken with a grain of salt, since there really isnt a way for me to easily prove it.
The story should have focused on Mihaly only. Also his boast that 'There are pilots like you in every generation. And I felled every last one of them' makes no sense since he isn't a past protagonist. Also he should have appeared personally in gameplay more often rather than his drone copies.
Hes fought in what can only be assumed to be repeated wars since Erusea was busy imvading everyone and it can be assumed he takes on multiple aces in those wars, so I don’t see the issue with that line. Hell, he kills the second best Osean pilot in the Lighthouse war.

It's a real shame that Mihaly's great piloting skill was poorly shown via scripted boss fights. The Yellow fought much better and didn't have to be scripted to be. In fact, having Milahy fly like the Yellows (with a few differences due to personal skill) would have been an interesting detail. That, and actually using the post-stall moves Project Aces was so excited to show off that otherwise are not needed to play the game at all.
We need to get some content about what the aces did after their games.We get some info about Pixy after ACZ , we know Mobius One kept flying.I can understand any info about Razgriz Squadron is confidential but there is no info about Cipher anywhere and it drives me crazy.Cipher is my fav ace and I rly wonder what happened to the Demon Lord after Belkan War. Like Mobius One , Cipher also deserves some content maybe a VR mission.

Ace Combat Fan Wow! Shattered Skies was my first Ace and just played Unknown Skies. Had no idea Mihaly was 13's trainer. I'd love to play future Ace with Mihaly before Zero in that case. :)

I honestly feel that Sol 1's quote that he's killed many aces is a hint that he was Cipher aka.Galm 1 Its not entirely impossible cuz no one knew the real identity of the mercenary pilot. Plus out of the entire AC universe Cipher undeniably racked the the highest kills when it came to ace pilots.
I kind of like the similitudes that the game gives betwen Mihaly and Yellow 13 - Mihaly uses the Su-30SM while Yellow 13 uses the Su-37, both aircrafts are basically the same with the difference that the Su-30SM is a double seat version of the Terminator. -Both flights in formation of 5 aircrafts. -Both don't actually care about the comflict, neither the political or military campaing about their countries, they just want to flight and face worthly opponents to test their skills, they are not "evil" per say. -Both were very feared by their enemies. As a curious fact, Mihaly uses allmost the same color pattern like Cipher, just with black brown and orange.

Good thing for Mihayl that he sat out the last two big Usean conflicts, since he probably wouldn't have survived getting into a fight with Phoenix or Blaze. It's also kinda f*cked up that Mihaly is Gründer's slapdash, second-hand backup for their drones, since Phoenix trashed the original Z.O.E. units.
I'd say that it's implied he had experience in the shilage air force, since he and his squadron all wear shilage air force patches. But what do I know? 7 is my first ACE game
I like one of the tropes Mihaly and Trigger's rivalry represents, the aging legend having to rely on advanced tools to keep up with the rising star gunning for their spot who uses old, beaten up tools. Takumi vs God Hand from Initial D fits that to a tee also
One thing thag bugged me was that he flies an Su-30, a two pilot plane and we know nothing about his co-pilot, as if he does everything on his own. Even in the cutscenes of with the Su-30, you can see a second pilot just chilling in the back seat completely frozen
Basically the little thing in the co-pilot is the AI he's training. Other sol members have one too. It feels like mihaly was training Nemo or something like that.
Feels bad, my first ace combat was 5 and I played it thinking it was simply shoot down planes (besides I didn't know English at the time) then I saw Ace Combat 7 this year in PC and played it, and since now I know English, I was able to play and pay attention to the conversations for history And now I'm doing research on AC lore because I am intrigued on what happened in the past since this game made references to other conflicts, some that were in actual games

Even if it was not - FCU were basically at cold war with Erusea in 1990+. Not exactly the time to hire Erusean ex military pilot / active military instructor / test pilot. Not to mention Phoenix being known as mercenary prior to 1995 while Mihaly anything but mercenary.

This make sense that Mihaly was a trainer since he did say, "There are pilots like you in every generation". Referencing him in his battles in 1991 and Yellow 13 since Yellow 13 was one of the only ones to keep up with him before the events of AC7. Now we know why Yellow 13 was so badass cause he was taught by one of the top pilots in all of Ace Combat series.
Rose, the last short story in "Aces At War 2019", provided some information about the time of the first Kingdom of Erusea reformed into a republic. By the time of 2008, the old royal family has lived as commoners, for three generation. Rosa is the 4th generation of that family. It is unlikely that the reformation took place at 1990s.
Considering the helter skelter timeline of Strangereal, I'm not so sure. The Belkan War is basically analogous to world war 2, just with modern fighter jets. There's nothing to say the conflicts follow the order of our world. It could be a 'gulf conflict' or maybe Osea was involved in some peacekeeping effort in a jungle country somewhere else in Strangereal, a la Vietnam or Korea.

Hmmm.... It kind of makes sense, since the default plane that Mihaly use is a Su-30 and Yellow 13 default plane was the Su-37 making them related somehow, Mihaly was Yellow 13 instructor, but, betwen the both, is still think Mihaly was better than Yellow 13, his fighting style is something that not much people can do (except us the player) since you will have to be absurly resilient and strong in order to resist all those high G's. It's not impossible to do, but an average pilot is not able to pull things like that.

The whole story this vid says about Mihaly sounds mostly right but honestly, I still been thinking back to a few things mentioned in Ace Combat 7 and what happened in Ace Combat 0: the Balken War. I still wondered in Ace Combat Balkan War if you have been Mihaly all along because of the fact that the "protagonist's" wingman betrayed him and defects to enemy forces and winds up getting juiced planes in the process. Also "The protagonist" has shot down some notable aces like a guy who becomes a famed general (I believe), an assassin turned pilot who winds up on the run afterward, and a husband and wife couple where the husband dies and the wife winds up becoming a famed dancer. On top of that I know the game explains prior to 5 about "the one group bombing themselves" where if I remember the stage right they were going to launch but had area instabilities (was a frozen area) so when the missiles took off they yes blew up on the immediate area. Also the wingman guy was quite the flyer and did the same tricks Mihaly does but after he gets shot down he hoped the best for "the protagonist". I remember in one part in 7 they do mention "Mihaly was around during the time of the Balkans" or something to that effect so Mihaly had to be somewhere in Ace Combat 0: The Balkan War. I used to own the game but sadly I sold it after I beat it. Was ok but wasn't as exciting as 5 was.
Great game, but I wish Ace Combat 7 had more aircraft. I miss the diversity of Ace Combat Infinity. Especially for the games main campaign. Would love to tear it up with a Panavia Tornado or an F-117A Nighthawk. Plus I'm still waiting for a "Mobius 1" emblem. Unfortunately, the ISAF "Three Arrowheads" emblem is only available on the PS4 VR. I guess I'm asking for too much...
As much as i disliked Infinity for its "F2P" and fuel system... it had lots of nice planes, including the Harrier, AC3 jets, and so on. I'd be disappointed if they don't return at some point in AC7. Every month a new free jet (no payable DLC) for next two years would be great!
You forget AC:I took awhile to get to the amount of planes it ended up with. And most of those planes were ripped from AC:AH. Now we're on a new engine and everything has to be done from scratch in way higher detail than ever before. Basically, I hope you've brought the marshmallows because it's gonna be a long time before we reach Infinity's plane count, if it ever happens.
I don't know... not saying you're not right, but AC:AH had 13 fighters, Infinity had 23. AC:AH had 13 multirole jets, Infinity had 25. AC:AH had 6 attackers, Infinity had 14. AC:AH had 24 planes with 8 releasing later as DLC. (32 total) Infinity had 62 planes, almost doubling AC:AH. If AC7 ends up with a similar number at some point (not expecting this tomorrow) i'd be very satisfied.
I'm thinking that he trained Yellow 13 because he's MUCH older than Yellow 13. Yellow 13 was in his 20s during the Usean Continental War and Mihaly looks like he's in his 60s. The Usean Continental War was only MAYBE 20 years before the events of AC7.
There is an interesting theory that is on the net that says that mihaly is the encarnation of an ace combat veteran player, the way he acts (waiting for the perfect shot while hunting a target, having fun when a worthy opponent appears, the quote "there are pilots like you in every generation..." basically describes the aces we have shot down in previous games, he attacks and does the job alone, every pilot thinks he is on another level and evades almost every missile) he ressembles the way of fighting of a veteran AC player, remember when he said that he wanted the war to continue so he could fly more, when you put that on the player perspective is true because we only can play when a war starts in strangereal

At the time STFS Scarface emerged (1995 AIR COMBAT) Mihaly already was a test pilot for Erusea (not to mention military service prior) - not exactly someone who could emerge as mercenary for a FCU with all hostilities etc. Plus despite squadron named Scarface and call sign being Scarface One protagonist of both AIR COMBAT and ACE COMBAT 2 is Phoenix - a pilot who was know for being mercenary before 1995 plus he stayed in Usea (at least assumedly) between 1995 and 1998 (AC2) again not something someone from Erusia could achieve with things going bad enough for FCU to enlarge military presence on Erusean border.
All Mihaly story is a reflect of ace combat player, our will to fly in ace combat at any cost, bringing new war, the envy to play with dumb ai, the moves we do in S rank to ensure missile Hit, the reaction of mihaly when railgun missed is a echo of our when an ennemy flying different than normal. He do not care about the ground like us. Quoting truth in FMA: "Who i am? I'm Mobius One, or perhaps Galm One or perhaps Wardog One or perhaps Razgriz One or perhaps Southern Cross or perhaps Scarface one or perhaps Garuda One and I'M YOU"

Allow me to go on a tangent that is mildly related to this:
So, Mobius 1 became a part of the IUN peacekeeeping force post AC4, and fought against Free Erusia twice, in AC5 arcade and AC7 VR. In the VR missions, I think, Omega 11 references that Mobius is "old" or "older", so we can assume he's a getting close to retirement at around the time of the VR missions. Perhaps following the campaign, he decides to take it easy, and become a flight instructor for the IUN.
Flash forward 5 years to the Lighthouse war (AC7), and we're introduced to Trigger, the newest member of the IUN-PKF Mage Squadron. Trigger, in his very first engagement, easily downs a whole squadron of bombers and their escorts almost single handedly, and obviously goes on to become the top Ace of the war.
Head canon: Much like Mihaly trained Yellow 13, Mobius 1 trained Trigger.
To take it a step further, I wonder if he trained him one on one.

@@jamesharris4695 What evidence do you have for that? Mobius 1 and Trigger both served as part of the IUN Peacekeeping force, and they both end up flying the F-22 as their canon Aircraft. This is another similarity to the relationship between Mihaly and Yellow 13. They both flew advanced canard-equipped Flankers in a 5-ship formation. There's nothing that ties Blaze and Trigger together besides service in the Osean Air Force. Yet Blaze obviously didn't fight for Osea for the entirety of AC5. On top of that we don't know if Blaze even returned to the military. There's just not enough there to connect him to Trigger. Meanwhile, it's entirely possible and even likely that Mobius 1 and Trigger have met. They serve the same organization. They operate in the same theater of war. Their ages line up well enough. They even fly the same aircraft.

Because a drone flys right up to triggers ass and fires a missile from right behind him, which makes it look like Trigger was the killer. It was a set up.

I actually support this theory. It’s said in AC7 that he was the top ace from two wars ago. If you only count the Usean continent, that means two wars ago would be the events of AC2. Who was the top ace? Scarface 1. Plus he literally has a scar on his face. And it doesn’t take away from any of the other facts that we now know about him either, because even though they say his last combat mission was in 1991, Scarface 1 was a mercenary. Meaning that records of his time as a merc are probably not readily available. Headcannon: Mihaly is Scarface 1.

I love hidden meanings in the mission. You attack Shilage castle taking out their army, eventually sieging the castle, so the kings guard (Sol squadron) takes off to defend the keep. But they start to notice that they are loosing, so the king himself arrives to defend his keep, sacrificing himself for others.
Not really. You lay waste to his domain, killing civilians in the process and while everyone trying to defend them, the only thing Mihaly cares is killing Trigger. Not leading Sol squadron, not his kingdom - only being up in the skies with opponent pushing him beyond his limits. Skies and battles are the only things he cares about.

He may have trained "Y13", but at this time "Y13" was young and hasn't reached his full potential yet. Means, when we fought him, maybe he'd been equal to Mihaly. Meanwhile in AC7, Mihaly's body and skills detoriated... "Y13" could easily have been better or just as good. Wouldn't be the first time the student beats the mentor.

Well he is known as "The Ace of Aces".
Well since player character ace always canonically defeats his nemesis, Mobius 1 ; Blaze ; Cipher ; Garuda 1 ; Trigger ; Gryphus 1 are all better then Mihaly
It's less of a power-level problem and more of a tier problem. Main character Aces > Enemy Aces. That's just how the story works. It makes it hard to measure how an enemy ace of one generation might measure up to an enemy ace of another generation.
That said, the Belkan scientist did point out that Mihaly was STILL evolving his skills, even at his age.
Sometimes you compare an ace by who he kills. Other times by how many. In that regard, Cypher is generally accepted as Ace Combat's best for canonically taking down at least 5 ace squadrons and more than 10 in gameplay. However, Mobius 1 is also recognized as the strongest for taking down the Yellow Squadron, which alone was extremely powerful. More than that, his bomber skills are by far the best, from the number of ground targets destroyed.
This is all opinion, though. Since they never canonically fought each other in skill competitions, we have no way to know.

EDIT 2: so if I'm understanding it right with Harling, we fired our missile at a drone at the same moment a F18 drone behind us fired its missile at Harling, and the missiles were just so close that it looked like our missile that hit him?
1) MG1 turn around by Harling's will beacuse he wanted defend the Elevator.

Originally I had a theory that Mihaly was actually Galm 1. Because if you think about it, they said he was the top Ace from two wars before, which would mean The Belkan War. The reason I think this is:
•During the Belkan War, Galm 1 and Pixy have a final joust, signifying the fact that they are the last knights of the round table.
•During the final battle with Mihaly, it's almost reminiscent of the joust between Pixy and Galm 1, head on fight with the EML.
•Galm 1 completely disappeared after the end of the war. And there are mentions to the Belkan War, like the seven nukes on Belkan soil.
•During the final battle with Mihaly, Sol Squadron (the knights) take off to defend the castle and Mihaly (the King), but after heavy losses, Mihaly comes in to defend his knights, and sacrifices himself for them to live. It's kinda retelling the story of the final battle at Avalon Dam. (Kind of a late night tired, me and friend got talking theory.)
•(This one being a bit of a unofficial theory), if the ADFX-01 Morgan is actually one of the DLC jets, it could of meant his past is finally coming to back to see him, being, Pixy seeing Galm 1 again like he said "thanks friend, see you again".
•Another thing that kinda helps support this is his age. Let's say during Zero, he was 34, about the max age of being a pilot. Now you add in the 15 year inter war period that leads to the events of 5, he's now 49. Now you add in the 9 year space between 5 and 7, and now he's 58. About the right age for 7, and given how old he looks, he may look older due to all the stress of flying. But give or take a few years he's about the right age.
I know this is a crazy, and all over the place theory, and Im only pointing out key reasons, but at the same time, it makes some sense if you really think about it.

Can you do one for Spare Squadron, like on the crimes each member committed to get thrown into a penal unit? In the game I only got that Count was convicted of fraud and Tabloid was convicted of treason for throwing that rock and spreading "propaganda".
Nobody seems to talking about it but everyone in spare squadron seems to be good pilots. One of them even pulled a cobra against mihaly, in an F18 too. That's honestly impressive enough on its own.
I know there really isnt a way for me to prove it, but I heard an interesting radio transmission in Ace Combat 4 that references him.
During Megalith, I was mopping up Yellow Squadron before proceeding on to Megalith, and one Yellow Squad member says "Good work Mihaly" or... something to that effect. I honestly dont know if anyone else ever got that radio transmission while doing Megalith, but it was interesting to hear. This was also on a still working PS2 version, not an emulation, or save off the web.
I get it if this is taken with a grain of salt, since there really isnt a way for me to easily prove it.

I love how Project Aces included Hungary in AC7 in mission 10 (Bulgardarest = Budapest, wall on border xd)
It seems that Shilage/Voslage is more like Hungary whereas Bulgurdarest is more like Romania
The story should have focused on Mihaly only. Also his boast that 'There are pilots like you in every generation. And I felled every last one of them' makes no sense since he isn't a past protagonist. Also he should have appeared personally in gameplay more often rather than his drone copies.
Hes fought in what can only be assumed to be repeated wars since Erusea was busy imvading everyone and it can be assumed he takes on multiple aces in those wars, so I don’t see the issue with that line. Hell, he kills the second best Osean pilot in the Lighthouse war.

Mihaly is a great character with even greater potential we could see a lot more from him like a big boss from ace combat.
Video Suggestion: Which enemy Pilots/Squadrons from the Ace Combat Series are "Fan Favorites" or atleast Notable in some way.
It's a real shame that Mihaly's great piloting skill was poorly shown via scripted boss fights. The Yellow fought much better and didn't have to be scripted to be. In fact, having Milahy fly like the Yellows (with a few differences due to personal skill) would have been an interesting detail. That, and actually using the post-stall moves Project Aces was so excited to show off that otherwise are not needed to play the game at all.

Ace Combat Fan Wow! Shattered Skies was my first Ace and just played Unknown Skies. Had no idea Mihaly was 13's trainer. I'd love to play future Ace with Mihaly before Zero in that case. :)

Its not entirely impossible cuz no one knew the real identity of the mercenary pilot. Plus out of the entire AC universe Cipher undeniably racked the the highest kills when it came to ace pilots.
I kind of like the similitudes that the game gives betwen Mihaly and Yellow 13
- Mihaly uses the Su-30SM while Yellow 13 uses the Su-37, both aircrafts are basically the same with the difference that the Su-30SM is a double seat version of the Terminator.
-Both flights in formation of 5 aircrafts.
-Both don't actually care about the comflict, neither the political or military campaing about their countries, they just want to flight and face worthly opponents to test their skills, they are not "evil" per say.
-Both were very feared by their enemies.
As a curious fact, Mihaly uses allmost the same color pattern like Cipher, just with black brown and orange.

One thing thag bugged me was that he flies an Su-30, a two pilot plane and we know nothing about his co-pilot, as if he does everything on his own. Even in the cutscenes of with the Su-30, you can see a second pilot just chilling in the back seat completely frozen
The robot system was in his back seat, it's what gathered the info from his flying
Basically the little thing in the co-pilot is the AI he's training. Other sol members have one too. It feels like mihaly was training Nemo or something like that.
Feels bad, my first ace combat was 5 and I played it thinking it was simply shoot down planes (besides I didn't know English at the time) then I saw Ace Combat 7 this year in PC and played it, and since now I know English, I was able to play and pay attention to the conversations for history

Even if it was not - FCU were basically at cold war with Erusea in 1990+. Not exactly the time to hire Erusean ex military pilot / active military instructor / test pilot. Not to mention Phoenix being known as mercenary prior to 1995 while Mihaly anything but mercenary.
Not just that, the fact Phoenix is bugging around in the XFA-27 throws that possibility out of the window entirely.

This make sense that Mihaly was a trainer since he did say, "There are pilots like you in every generation". Referencing him in his battles in 1991 and Yellow 13 since Yellow 13 was one of the only ones to keep up with him before the events of AC7. Now we know why Yellow 13 was so badass cause he was taught by one of the top pilots in all of Ace Combat series.
Rose, the last short story in "Aces At War 2019", provided some information about the time of the first Kingdom of Erusea reformed into a republic.
By the time of 2008, the old royal family has lived as commoners, for three generation. Rosa is the 4th generation of that family. It is unlikely that the reformation took place at 1990s.

Considering the helter skelter timeline of Strangereal, I'm not so sure. The Belkan War is basically analogous to world war 2, just with modern fighter jets. There's nothing to say the conflicts follow the order of our world. It could be a 'gulf conflict' or maybe Osea was involved in some peacekeeping effort in a jungle country somewhere else in Strangereal, a la Vietnam or Korea.

It kind of makes sense, since the default plane that Mihaly use is a Su-30 and Yellow 13 default plane was the Su-37 making them related somehow, Mihaly was Yellow 13 instructor, but, betwen the both, is still think Mihaly was better than Yellow 13, his fighting style is something that not much people can do (except us the player) since you will have to be absurly resilient and strong in order to resist all those high G's. It's not impossible to do, but an average pilot is not able to pull things like that.

The whole story this vid says about Mihaly sounds mostly right but honestly, I still been thinking back to a few things mentioned in Ace Combat 7 and what happened in Ace Combat 0: the Balken War. I still wondered in Ace Combat Balkan War if you have been Mihaly all along because of the fact that the "protagonist's" wingman betrayed him and defects to enemy forces and winds up getting juiced planes in the process. Also "The protagonist" has shot down some notable aces like a guy who becomes a famed general (I believe), an assassin turned pilot who winds up on the run afterward, and a husband and wife couple where the husband dies and the wife winds up becoming a famed dancer. On top of that I know the game explains prior to 5 about "the one group bombing themselves" where if I remember the stage right they were going to launch but had area instabilities (was a frozen area) so when the missiles took off they yes blew up on the immediate area. Also the wingman guy was quite the flyer and did the same tricks Mihaly does but after he gets shot down he hoped the best for "the protagonist". I remember in one part in 7 they do mention "Mihaly was around during the time of the Balkans" or something to that effect so Mihaly had to be somewhere in Ace Combat 0: The Balkan War.
I used to own the game but sadly I sold it after I beat it. Was ok but wasn't as exciting as 5 was.
At the end, he regreted his actions with Grunder and "trained" trigger to give him a mission

Great game, but I wish Ace Combat 7 had more aircraft. I miss the diversity of Ace Combat Infinity. Especially for the games main campaign. Would love to tear it up with a Panavia Tornado or an F-117A Nighthawk. Plus I'm still waiting for a "Mobius 1" emblem. Unfortunately, the ISAF "Three Arrowheads" emblem is only available on the PS4 VR.

As much as i disliked Infinity for its "F2P" and fuel system... it had lots of nice planes, including the Harrier, AC3 jets, and so on. I'd be disappointed if they don't return at some point in AC7. Every month a new free jet (no payable DLC) for next two years would be great!

You forget AC:I took awhile to get to the amount of planes it ended up with. And most of those planes were ripped from AC:AH. Now we're on a new engine and everything has to be done from scratch in way higher detail than ever before. Basically, I hope you've brought the marshmallows because it's gonna be a long time before we reach Infinity's plane count, if it ever happens.
I don't know... not saying you're not right, but AC:AH had 13 fighters, Infinity had 23. AC:AH had 13 multirole jets, Infinity had 25. AC:AH had 6 attackers, Infinity had 14.
AC:AH had 24 planes with 8 releasing later as DLC. (32 total)
Infinity had 62 planes, almost doubling AC:AH.
If AC7 ends up with a similar number at some point (not expecting this tomorrow) i'd be very satisfied.

I'm thinking that he trained Yellow 13 because he's MUCH older than Yellow 13. Yellow 13 was in his 20s during the Usean Continental War and Mihaly looks like he's in his 60s. The Usean Continental War was only MAYBE 20 years before the events of AC7.

Probably an homage. Scarface was a generation after Mihaly retired from combat duty.
There is an interesting theory that is on the net that says that mihaly is the encarnation of an ace combat veteran player, the way he acts (waiting for the perfect shot while hunting a target, having fun when a worthy opponent appears, the quote "there are pilots like you in every generation..." basically describes the aces we have shot down in previous games, he attacks and does the job alone, every pilot thinks he is on another level and evades almost every missile) he ressembles the way of fighting of a veteran AC player, remember when he said that he wanted the war to continue so he could fly more, when you put that on the player perspective is true because we only can play when a war starts in strangereal
Very true. All the while Trigger being a newer pilot might be a reference to someone entering the Ace Combat series, which is actually my case.

Probably not. At the time STFS Scarface emerged (1995 AIR COMBAT) Mihaly already was a test pilot for Erusea (not to mention military service prior) - not exactly someone who could emerge as mercenary for a FCU with all hostilities etc. Plus despite squadron named Scarface and call sign being Scarface One protagonist of both AIR COMBAT and ACE COMBAT 2 is Phoenix - a pilot who was know for being mercenary before 1995 plus he stayed in Usea (at least assumedly) between 1995 and 1998 (AC2) again not something someone from Erusia could achieve with things going bad enough for FCU to enlarge military presence on Erusean border.
