The kicking my camera gear, calling my gear shit, kicking over my coffee, and even transporting crappies to different water bodies was annoying, but it would never have became physical. Nothing would have happened if the first gentleman did not lunge at me and try to push me in the river. Moral of this story is do not place your hands on anyone, young or old. I have had over 70 msgs and complaints about this older gentleman displaying this behavior to all kinds of fishermen including children. This was not his first time harassing someone and unfortunately I don't beleive it will be his last. People like this gentleman put the public safety in jeopardy. The reason I was so mad in the end is because it became physical. I was so frustrated that they forced the situation to move from verbal to physical. :( After I got in the guys face and he didn't leave I put my go pro on my tripod as I was about to pick up my gear and leave. That was when I noticed the friend running over. I had no intention of carrying on with this deranged man.

Sir, I believe you handled the situation well, better then most would have. Loosing our temper is never a good idea BUT, you used an appropriate amount of force to stand your ground and defend yourself. Wish the camera would have captured the splash...priceless!!

I think he handled it like how most men would have handled it 👏 People may say they would have handled it differently but when its happening to you, you may feel differently. All he did was defend himself himself against verbal attacks and then physical attacks. The thing is, this old man probably has been doing this to people his whole life. The old bully got his karma, I loved watching them crawl out of the water, pride sank to the bottom of the river. I feel for the young guy. His fishing day was ruined just cuz of an old grump.

He was completely justified. Just because they're old men doesn't make them immune to consequences. The first old man could be charged with angler harassment under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (Section 13) for interfering with the younger guy fishing (distracting him, lurking near his gear, and kicking over his coffee), and then both old men committed assault by laying hands on him. At the point they committed assault, the young guy had every legal right to throw them in the water... they're lucky he showed restraint and didn't punch them out because he had legal justification to do so.

I started asking around about him because he kicked a woman out of a group for calling him out on this video. But nothing she said broke any of the rules.
