  • My buddy Timmy The Machine getting harassed by a crazy Karen dock owner.
Thank you for watching my video !!! I super appreciate all the views, subs, comments, likes and shares.
This channel is mostly about making all sorts of fishing tackle; Jigs, Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits, Plastic Baits. Airbrushing Crankbaits,....etc.
Besides bait making videos, I also make fishing videos, underwater videos, videos of the seminars I do, interviews and product reviews. Every now and then I will post a non-fishing related video like wine making videos
I’ve been making my own tackle for a long time now and I am always willing to share the knowledge. If you have any questions or just want to say hello, send me an email.... ThatGuySkimpy@Gmail.com

The best thing to do with Karen's like this is to literally just pretend they aren't there. They have no right to tell you what to do so you have the right to not only ignore them but entirely pretend they don't even exist. It's also very satisfying to keep fishing the whole time while they are yelling at you and you don't even look in their direction lol

    • @fitfogey

Yep. That infuriates them the most. Karens are bullies. They crave attention and validation. When you don’t give it to them, they lose it.

I don't know that lake but where cabin is we have to apply for dock permit. In the agreement we affirm the dock is a privilege/ courtesy and the permit could be invalidated if the owner does anything to prevent public enjoyment. When rescinded it must be remove entirely at the owners expense. Then they would have to start the application process again. If that's available there somebody needs to teach her a lesson.

Amazes me that people believe they "own" the water around their dock. In some states, once you build a dock (which is regulated by the state), the dock is just like a driveway that crosses public easement. The property owner needs to learn what the laws are before pestering fishermen. This in itself is illegal. Harassing fishermen is illegal lady.

Apparently, on Michigan's inland lake's and streams, waterfront owners own the bottom lands and share the water with the public. I experienced this exact situation recently and admittedly, kept going back to fish the same person's dock just to antagonize them. I guess I was getting an adrenaline rush from the whole confrontation. The last time I went back to resume the show I was met by a sherriff's deputy who fined me for operating my boat within 100' of a private dock. I admit I was being an intrusive ass and should have let up a bit and fished elsewhere for awhile. I wasn't aware of the 100' rule and have fished people's docks for years as many others do. When I appeared in court to contest the fine, the judge kind of sided with me stating that some people can be overly sensitive about the space around their waterfront property. He did a good job educating me on riparian owners rights and that they do in fact own the ground that is below the water which gives them the right to install a dock or a mooring for a boat or raft. However, he did not let me off the hook. The fine was steep.

My folks used to have a lake house adjacent to a boat launch and channel that accessed the main lake. Non-stop boat traffic, quite often, but the boat guys would also fish around our property quite often. Casting for bass, pike, walleye, what have you. If I didn't have anything else to do, I'd often go outside and ask them how things were going, or if they had a nice Pike or Musky on I'd go out and watch. Sometimes they'd get gear stuck on the shoreline, or our piers, and I'd always help them out with it if I was around. Usually crankbaits. But pretty much every time I'd engage an angler in conversation, they seemed real apprehensive, as if they assumed I was an MK just going out to give them guff about fishing around our property, which I never was. Sad how often folks who are just trying to fish and enjoy a public resource have to deal with obnoxious people on the bank. Even when somebody WAS in the wrong, somehow, I always kept my cool and didn't make an issue out of it. There's just no need at all for this kind of behavior, 99.9% of the time.

This is an example of Texas state law. The sam applies in most states to my knowledge:
Q: Can a marina operator or lakeside landowner keep boaters away from his docks?
A: Not on public water. If a lake is public water, the public has the right to boat the entire lake, and to fish from a boat (subject to regulation by government entities).31 A person who interferes with a lawful boater may be committing the crime of obstructing a waterway and/or harassment. Both are Class B misdemeanors.32 By the same token, a boater who unreasonably obstructs access to or from a dock or boat slip may be guilty of obstructing a waterway.

This has to be up north. This lady sounds a tad bit reeeetarded. Nobody owns the water unless your property surrounds it on all sides. And no fault to the guy fishing.

I have been harassed by lakeside home owners more than I can count ! Now I just call the cops and they come immediately ! I don’t call 911 I dial the office line see it’s not an emergency. So far every incident the home owner has been told that hey don’t own the water and if the are called back for harassing fishermen who are not damaging their property they will go to jail. However their are people in our sport that do damage homeowners property and leave hooks and lures on homeowners docks and boats ! They are the part of the reason we are getting harassed but there are are homeowners that have nothing better to do! Check your states sportsmen harassment laws, and if you have one make copies and keep in your boat to give homeowners harassing you and if they persist ignore them and call the non emergency phone number for that towns police 👮 when you do this the police keep a record of who has been harassing fisherman. So as long as where not damaging property fish them docks and swim platforms so you can catch ‘em right in front of them !

Yes harassing hunters fishing etc is illegal but her spraying water in water would be somewhat grey area. If she started throwing rocks in the water or at him then yea she’d get a ticket.
