Shame on those who speak and write Vietnamese (republic of Vietnam regime) who hate the communist state of Vietnam. They always call for overthrowing the Vietnamese communists to fight for the people in the country. But they boycott, distort or even destroy online the products of their own people exported to the US. A guy from the other side of the ocean who can't come back and can't return to his own homeland pretends to understand Vietnam very well. Sales to taxi companies are only a small part because the color of the taxi and the number plate is completely different. It's funny that Toyota Vietnam has just signed a contract with Mai Linh to sell them 10,000 cars to make taxis, but these guys don't care because it's not the product of the people themselves. Ps : boycott fish sauce and rice ... Vietnam with their mouths but still have to buy to eat because they can't get rid of their fourth-class citizenship in the US.

To quote an IB friend "that SPAC is why SPACs are going to be banned". Vinfast produces cars that are not competitive against anyone, either ICE or EVs. It's the Faraday with worse car designs and unproven manufacturing prowess.
In Vietnam, customers have to wait a few months to receive the car because of the overload of orders. Don't judge so subjectively! Have you experienced Vin's car yet?

I went for a ride along in a VF8 and an ID4 on a course that was meant to mimic light off-road conditions. The VF8 had stiff suspension and was much more uncomfortable in comparison to the ID4,
I'm liking the styling of most of the EV cars they make, I'm sure there is a lot they can do to improve the quality and operation of their cars while they gear up for production in the US. They could surprise us but wouldn't like to bet on it.

i have far more confidence in byd, they could potentially make something happen. the chinese are pretty good at manufacturing these days, have substantial experience, and at least a basic understanding of western markets. vn is completely clueless.

Most exchanges will lock short options for new/small companies to protect traders from price manipulation

in SPAC almost 100% of Authorized shares had been issued and handed over to the new owner and the owner need to TRANSFER those shares to acquire asset for the company, VS in IPO you arrange proper % of shares at the inception with underwriter and later if you need to raise more capital you will need to issue more shares. the different from SPAC vs IPO is that SPAC PRE-printed those shares and the current ACCOUNTING SYSTEM must account all shares outstanding eventhought they are all restristed shares. SO right now you are trading VFS as a 200 million dollar market cap, not 80 billion dollar market cap.
VinScam should be the name of the company. They had that PR event about eight months ago that many RUclipsrs, inlcuding Sandy Munro, went to the Casino Resort they own, to preview their vehicles. It was like bribing media members with luxury trips to say nice things and many did, which was sad. Watching Munro Live's video from the event just made me cringe.
If you just step back and look at VinFast logically, their past actions, their tech, and so on, there is nothing of real value with them. Many issues with their vehicles and do believe the SPAC was all about cashing in for some quick money. Would not be surprised to see the listing go away in the next couple of years.
I feel very bad for the small number of people living in America who had bought VinFast vehicles. The cost is way high for what you get and many headaches.
Logically, they didn't design anything of this automobile, for just only about 2 years commmon. VinScam don't have the technology to even make a SCREW properly, prove me wrong. So VinScam, stop claiming that you've made the car, NO. You only assemble the car for China, period.

They have not been able to sell any, only managed to have approx. 300 cars on short-term lease since they first transported their cars to the US about 8 months ago. At this pace, the outlook does not look good for them...they are running out of cash with little sales and about $6 billions of debt to pay interests.

Thank you for your great financial analysis. I have recommended strongly against any 1st Gen EV from any car company with all the recalls, battery fires, and losing money. I would only trust Tesla as they make money and have been doing it for a decade. But again, even with gas cars - never buy first year models - let them get the bugs out and drop the price in a year or two. Most of my cars and bikes are all 2nd year+. This has saved me lots of problems, time, and money.

I'm still perplexed by Vinfast's EV concept from the beginning. My neighbor works for them here in southern California and can't even tell me Vinfast's differentiating advantage. However, they will try to woo (cough cough distract) you with tríp to its cheesy resort.

I have lived in Vietnam over seven years. Here I hear a lot about Vinfast's actual production capability. It doesn't have any accumulated engineering of producing automobile. In Vietnam, there is no manufacturing eco system to build automobiles: Vinfast has to import all parts from China or from somewhere else. It's mother company, which is Vin Group, has annual sales revenue of just around 5 billion dollars, mostly the sales revenue comes from real estate development. Pls, compare this company's capacity with other major automobile companies.

I live about 30 minutes away from the factory site in North Carolina. I sincerely hope the factory is built and put into production, but I also sincerely think that the North Carolina taxpayers have had their money gambled away. To quote Pink Floyd regarding Vinfast: "And then one day you find, ten years ago behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun."

Right now their construction site consists of a few hundred acres of red mud where the forest has been removed. Assuming they are successful in manufacturing vehicles, I cannot see where their vehicles exceed over their competitors - lower price? Better quality? More range and less charging time? Better reliability? So the question that I have is: why buy a Vinfast versus any of its competition?

@@brbailey less than 50%. It is not unusual for projects with state incintives to fail to materialize. Plus the location is in "the middle of no where", not close to major highways, access to railway or coastal shipping.

If the VF8 is a sign of what Vinfast is capable of building, I don't imagine they will do very well. That car was rushed into production, and it shows. Rivian was definitely overvalued when they first went public, but the reason they're still around is because they actually designed a good car.
Vinfast can certainly fix software bugs in the future to make the VF8 better, but hat won't reduce its staggering 5,700lb weight, or its awful handling/suspension. They likely won't be able to improve the range either just due to the car's poor physical design.
What you get from VF is Chinese EV with VF logo.

The plant site in north carolina is run by clayco construction. All they have done is move dirt. There should be stacks of plumbing and electrical conduit for the underground work to start. Epic fail

When you invest money that company takes that money and uses it to build. To build anything you need to buy materials with money. That money comes from investors. That means your money was spent. GM isn't build new manufacturing plants. Vinfast is build new manufacturing plants. It has a high cash value.

Equity mkts are stupid. When people say Vinfast was valued at more than Ford & GM, all that they're really saying (and should know that they're saying) is that some tiny group of traders implicitly valued Vinfast at more than Ford & GM when they purchased their puny number of shares, and only for as long as they were hoping to hold it for (5 minutes?). In fact, the even more accurate statement would be that such traders valued the shares at some arbitrary variable P, because they were hoping to sell them at P plus some delta over that same short-term holding period. Not a single serious investor valued Vinfast at that equity valuation, and the traders only on something like 0.05% of the total Vinfast shares outstanding. Why??? Because the vast bulk of remaining shares were not readily saleable and because regulators are not intelligent enough to build a system with infinite, zero-cost borrowing of shares for short-selling purposes. Thank you for listening to my diatribe on this subject.

Building an EV without the supply chain means much higher cost and price, which will make the car uncompetitive. If it does sell cheaper than expected...

Tesla is paying people to testdrive their cars and report back any faults or improvements that need to be done. Vinfast should do the same and keep everything logged with the EPA which has the authorities to order recall if needed. Vinfast has solved all problems with software updates. RUclipsrs or the media who intend to do Vinfast bashings must be careful or be hit with legal actions that affect where it hurts most, in the wallet.

He was blown away by the size and it’s other programs. So likely your way off base. Then the cars that are now in Norway were given the thumbs up by Tesla Bjorn. Big outlets in Norway
Yeah, I noticed he’s been wrong a few times about things. But people seem to love them and feel sorry for him because his wife is real ill. Which, of course is a tragedy, but it has nothing to do with the uploads or Content. He was way off on the burning vehicles in China.

they cant sell these cars in california, and have terrible reviews about the inside of the vehicle falling apart while driving. they are heavier and more expensive then teslas, and have shorter range. enron 2.0

I guess an Chinese EV manufacturer will buy Vinfast if Vinfast successfully establish their brand in the US , that's how China will bypass US trade embargo on Chinese EV

VINFAST… has sold and lease 229 cars in North America at moments…. NONE OF CUSTOMERS ÍS HAPPY WITH THE CAR…. Too many problems….. VINFAST still have a long way to go.
Large amounts of new money entering the financial system allows many heads to turn away during questionable decisions unfortunately. i was excited for the news of it building a new North Carolina manufacturing facility, but now as more news of the company and its EV's comes in, not expecting much.
Ford and GM make cars more than century are worth less than Vinfast😂. I have no ideas, next year they may worth more than Toyota although they sell nothing .

I took a look at these a year ago - which is long before most of the lovely paid trolls on your comments section have been fighting the good fight against EV's. They looked ok to me, I wouldn't mind driving one. The issue to me is the limited market they are shown, and pushed. Some of the makers unfortunately only get to sell and market to one state out of 50. 99% of the trolls haven't even heard of this company, and I guarantee you I doubt I could even get such a new car and brand registered where I am. My make of Tesla isn't even the states system!
