Glad to see Alvarez is one of the brands you carry. It seems they are really working hard to develop value-oriented guitars with top-shelf sound, experimenting with new structure/bracing, finishes and so on. I still like/appreciate my 10 to 15 years old MD 60, and if the new structural changes/finishes are even better? Sweet! Of course, as always, Quentin's playing is a joy for the ears!
Thanks as always guys for a great video. That Alvarez sounded very good. I’ve got a used Alvarez dy52 which is a guitar with walnut back and sides. It sounds really good and works well with the country and gospel I play on it.
I have an Alverez MD60BG and a Much more expensive Martin D-18 reimagined. Both are solid mohagany back and sides and And Sitka spruce tops. with the same exact strings, same age the Alverez sounds almost identical to the Martin and it is actually more comfortable to play. I’d love to see the MD70 vs the HD28 since both have scalloped bracing.
I have the 12-fret sibling to this - the MDR70. It is a wonderful sounding guitar that meets all of my tonal expectations. The only complaint I have is the bridge string spacing is tight - about like the Martin 15 series. Also, although it has a 1-3/4 inch nut width, it feels tighter. If you can get past this, these are monsters!
I own an Alvarez MD60EBG. This Masterworks series is the best bang for the buck I know in guitar land. It doesn’t have the wide spectrum of soft to loud of my Martin D-35, but it has such clarity in the individual notes, and (I love Q’s playing and his vocabulary, pejorative, nice) I would say its biggest strength is depth of tone when finger picking that wasn’t prominent on this video. It is a joy to play, and although I bought it as my camping guitar, the sound techs at church actually prefer me using the Alvarez than many other guitars because it translates really well to a plugged in tone (LR Baggs pickup). Only ?, what’s the diff in the 60 and 70 of this series?
I bought the Alvarez 8 string GA from MV. Really a great sounding guitar, and a great value! Due to a problem with the tendon in my left thumb, I had the “V” neck shape removed. After that, good to go… awesome guitar! Alvarez does deliver.
Alvarez guitars give a lot of bang for the buck. That model is all solid Indian Rosewood back and sides with solid Sitka Spruce top. That guitar sells for about $1000 and is a bargain for an all solid wood instrument.
In response to the guitar smashing girlfriend. A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection. Judge looks over and says, ‘First time offender?’ She says, ‘No, your honor, first a Gibson then a Fender!'
I have been really thinking about this model... I have a Mahogany back.. and want to get a Rosewood dread too. And as always... Mr. King always makes 'em sing. :)

As I watch this, I still can’t get over that Yamaha Q played the other day…that being said, love Alvarez’s sounds and looks, except for that style bridge…don’t know why, I could possibly get over it, though. 👊

Alvarez makes some incredible guitars. I have been an Alvarez fan for 12 years.
I have 7 Alvarez guitars.
I bought a 2013 MD70ce 10 years ago. And it just keeps getting better
Good to see something other than the big 3. Great video as always! Thanks!

Thanks Quinton and Paul !. Waiting for a special coming soon to a Music Villa near me!
Played this in the store the other day. Sounds awesome, plays awesome. Great guitar!

Awesome guitar. Have that one and MD60 bg and MG75Ce . MG75ce would be a great one to review. Cedar and rosewood

Interesting sound
Like many rosewood guitars, single notes sounded more oleasing than chords to my ear
Sounds great. I’ve heard that Alvarez is putting the lr Baggs hifi in these now. Seems like a great value to me.

that bad boy sound great.
I own the AD60 with a solid spruce top. One day if I get an all solid guitar it will probably be the Alvarez but with mahogany
@@observingyt6159 That's great guitar. I bought the cutaway Shadowburst one for my nephew.

The best bang for your buck guitar is my Martin HD-28. I paid nothing for it. I ran out of guitar center with it.
I'm just playing 😂
Everyone copies Martin 😉 other than Taylor who does their own thing now.
You should read up on the bracing system history of Martin, then Alvarez
Nice
