just got my grandpas 06 crew cab tundra with the 4.7. 486,000 miles, yes MILES original motor trans nothing replaced besides brakes and maintenance and one coil pack. still running perfect and daily driving
The X-reas system sends hydraulic fluid from say the front left to the rear right shock and vise versa so there is less body roll and and truck handles more like a car and not an suv it’s the first thing many 4th gen owners remove.
I used to have an 04, had the v6 but at least it had selectable 4wd. I traded it for a 2016 tacoma that I later sold because they blow ass. I still regret getting rid of the 4runner. This gen was perfect
Nice I was wondering what happened To the 4runner. I didn't know what I was missing until I got my 05 Sadly it got totaled with 212k . Now I have an 08 with 113k and plan to put at least 300k more. Hands down the best all around suv / small truck out there. Most reliable, dependable, capable . Locking center diff it just does whatever you ask it to do .
You need an alignment. The lower control arms adjustments will get you straighter on your camber. If you upgrade to better Struts got with the Bilstein 6112's Shocks over Coil over. Coil overs are a lot of maintenance. The 6112's are amazing and huge bodied strut. Go with SPC Upper Control Arms - 25480 | Front Sway Bar Relocation Kit - 611030 | FJ Cruiser Rear E-Locker | CBI Bumpers | Prinsu Roof Rack | Hood Scoop Hood | Get Energy Suspension Rack Bushings - 8.10106G | Front Strut Mount Bushing - Part Number 9.6104G | Go with Old Man Emu Front 2885 Rear 2895.
Last week picked up 2006 forerunner V-8 Limited runs and rides great 160,000. Not sure what to do with it first. I don’t wanna put that big tires on but I do want to lift.
I died laughing when my wife showed me the picture of the suv you bought her. Was hoping the 4runner would make the cut since I have the same thing in Lexus trim.
I have a GX470 and am super interested in the Aussie locker company called Lokka. It basically locks automatically and is fully mechanical. It’s also like sub $400. Would be cool to see how it works in this Runner
Just spend the money on a manual locker. The auto lockers have to spin the tire first before it locks and at that point it may be too late for the locker to save you anyway.
I love it! Was thinking about the Yota from the off-road video. Looks great already, can't wait to see what Ty and Trevor can do, with this overlander.
If you want a replacement stock bumper for it and can somehow get it to CO from CA, I have one for you. It is in perfect shape and yours for free fiddy.
I think the reason the shocks were connected together is so that the coils would act differently when your level on the road, vs when your flexing on a rock
Also save the diff drop till you go above 3” if lift up front. Save your ground clearance. Then you can run 5th 4Runner axles that are a bit longer or a set of CVJ half shafts.
i guess having a 4runner in and from texas is good and bad. no 4wd but also no rust. ill take the no rust please. i also am doing the 5100's all around with moog springs and kyb mounts.
Absolutely love these 4 runners, especially this package with the v8, cannot wait to see what else you do to it. Gotta say definitely has a beautiful interior and the exterior is pretty clean.🔥💯
Hey Trevor, When did you get this? Cant wait to see this all done up with a paint job. I hope you got rid of a bunch of your othe vehicles, including That white van. You daughter is getting big, She is SO CUTE Dude! So Shat SUV did you buy for Jamie? IO bet whatever it is When your done with it She will love it after your finished doing it all up! First you got to trim the fender wells and give it a bath, because it if pretty damn dirty. it could use a lift kit Give it a bit of clearance and a metal off road bumper.
Please supercharge this thing with a cheap M112 or M90 from Eaton .. make your own cheap manifold by milling the original intake and welding some sheet metal to adapt to the SC, should be good for 5-8 psi of boost. And make insane low end torque.
How much offset on those wheels??? Doing the same with my 4runner. Put on some 265/70/17s and they rub when I make hard turns. Not sure how much offset I need with new wheels.
Kinda forgot you bought this thing lol. But I have you beat on the cheapest V8 4th Gen in the country. Got a Limited with 230k on it for 2800 bucks. Just barely under yours, but way under the other ones in my area. Next cheapest one was like 5 grand
These parts have been sitting around the shop for about 6 months now. I needed to get this done before I could drive or sell it. C10 is still happening. Rome wasn't built in a day
Turn it from a 4runner, to a PreRunner :D Remove both bumpers and get some nice metal things to increase the approach and departure angle Look at Coastal Offroad, they do good sutff. Tire carrier is good idea in the back Get rid of the side steps Get snorkel for it Get a nice light bar on top Look up proline4x4 for the roof rack for a nice low profile one.
I hope you do an Overlanding build series with this!!!
@Stephen Hogan Haha actually C10 first than this build!
Ditch those running boards it makes a huge difference.
ditch them for rock sliders
Amazing how much a 2.5 inch lift and some nice wheels and tires changes the entire Appearance looks so much better
just got my grandpas 06 crew cab tundra with the 4.7. 486,000 miles, yes MILES original motor trans nothing replaced besides brakes and maintenance and one coil pack. still running perfect and daily driving
Go to coastal offroad, they have a ton of 4runner weld together kits for this gen.
The X-reas system sends hydraulic fluid from say the front left to the rear right shock and vise versa so there is less body roll and and truck handles more like a car and not an suv it’s the first thing many 4th gen owners remove.
That's a sick runner I have an 04 V8 SR5 can't wait to see what you do with yours!
I used to have an 04, had the v6 but at least it had selectable 4wd. I traded it for a 2016 tacoma that I later sold because they blow ass. I still regret getting rid of the 4runner. This gen was perfect

Taking the running boards off and putting on some rock guards will make another huge difference. Looking great so far.
crazy how those C clips take the weight and shock forces!
Finally a RUclips channel doesn't call them RIMS!!!! Lord that kills me lol
Only 8300 views!? WTF, this channel deserves wayyyyy more.

Remindes me of my '92 version of this monster. Also sporting the V8!! Absolute animals.
You did a conversion?
Yesssssss finally 🙌🏽
about time the 4runner got some major needed love
Nice man ,now its time for a crazy and apart build
Last week picked up 2006 forerunner V-8 Limited runs and rides great 160,000. Not sure what to do with it first. I don’t wanna put that big tires on but I do want to lift.
The rocking with stock 200k shocks is no joke 😆
Shooohoot. Between you guys and b is for build you beat me to every dam dream build I come up with
That 4runner is looking pretty mint with that wheel color combo.
What's old is new again, looks sweet!
I died laughing when my wife showed me the picture of the suv you bought her. Was hoping the 4runner would make the cut since I have the same thing in Lexus trim.

Those would look amazing on my Tacoma 😍
It’s crazy what some rims and tires will do.
That is a sweet wheel and tire package info on wheels and tires please?
Love the 4runner! Do a build series on it please!!
Hell yea. I have an 05 v8 4wd also with the 5100s
Wow 4Runner content lets goo best suv truck ever.
I love it! Was thinking about the Yota from the off-road video. Looks great already, can't wait to see what Ty and Trevor can do, with this overlander.
Finally Overland content
If you want a replacement stock bumper for it and can somehow get it to CO from CA, I have one for you. It is in perfect shape and yours for free fiddy.
From 13 mpg to about 9. Looks good though
Man I love seeing this. I have an 05 and I cant wait to see this around town.
Getting one of those weld yourself bumpers would be awesome... You could do a nice tutorial vid on it... Nice looking weekend rig man!!!
Tim Herron Jr. This
I was pumped to see the wheels go on. Waiting for wheels for my Honda Element to arrive
I think the reason the shocks were connected together is so that the coils would act differently when your level on the road, vs when your flexing on a rock
i have a 3rd generation 4X4 5 speed! They are great trucks!! enjoying the series
Love the 4th gens
I’m doing a fox build on my 4th gen v8 right now along with sliders!
Overlanding built nice one dude..like it💪💪
New to the channel, awesome video. thank you meet kevin !
Also save the diff drop till you go above 3” if lift up front. Save your ground clearance. Then you can run 5th 4Runner axles that are a bit longer or a set of CVJ half shafts.
if youre doing steel bumpers, go with either toytec heavy duty springs or old man emu springs
Would love to see more 4Runner content lol!
Low boost turbo setup on the 2uz. Come on big trev you know it.
Yessss procharger because manifoldd suck
coastal offroad make some sick weld together bumpers you should check them out.
i guess having a 4runner in and from texas is good and bad. no 4wd but also no rust. ill take the no rust please. i also am doing the 5100's all around with moog springs and kyb mounts.
Heftyfab in colorado springs makes great bumpers
Came for the 4th gen.
It definitely turned out awesome with the tire and wheel combo 👍
I'm SO excited to see this again!!
Its looks way better with the lift, and tire/wheel package
I have the same wheels on my Silverado but they're all black...I think they look sweet!
i think this is a good candidate for a respray with bedliner
toyota also sells a factory TRD supercharger you can put on it relatively easy dude, they run for about 2/3k
you need to make "dont come a knockin if the 4runners rockin " stickers. I would buy one
Trevor I recommend the OME 3/2 springs and keep it at the lowest perch. Maxing out the preload on the stock springs isn't the best option
Also just remove the whole dress system. I did the same thing 2 months ago
Xreas*
Personally I think it’d be dope if you rhino lined the body a halo green especially with the bronze wheels and a big o snorkel just for shiggles
Found this video because I'm about to buy a 05 v8 4runner for dirt cheap!
Also do a Dual Battery Setup With a Fridge, either Dometic or ARB style.
The 4 runner is definitely Rocking now time to get the rear differential locking. 👌
Smitty Built makes the best off road bumpers and such , for the price .
it actually looks really sick
Absolutely love these 4 runners, especially this package with the v8, cannot wait to see what else you do to it. Gotta say definitely has a beautiful interior and the exterior is pretty clean.🔥💯
Gotta love that x-reas system 😂 love the build though looking real good .
I like it, Trevor. I am partial to Toyota trucks though...
Blue wheels on the civic?
Nice overland build 👌
4 runner looking nice
Awesome trev, the wheels and suspension are on point.
Off road 4 runner is nice.
Hey Trevor, When did you get this? Cant wait to see this all done up with a paint job. I hope you got rid of a bunch of your othe vehicles, including That white van. Hey I think you need to put a link to your other channel in the description so it’s easier for people to get it
Fixed
Would also stick one in the channels tab on your channel, that's where i always look
what's going on with the C10? Back to the truck.
nice Msmbo wheels!
Can I buy the old wheels?
love it....I have one and plan to give it to my son although it needs an engine cause my wife burned it!
i wish we had the v8 4 runner in Australia
Just got my 2003 v6 4runner 4wd. I got the same tires
YOU ARE GOING TO DEFINITELY NEED CONTROL ARMS ! DONT CHEAP OUT ON SAFETY
Please supercharge this thing with a cheap M112 or M90 from Eaton .. make your own cheap manifold by milling the original intake and welding some sheet metal to adapt to the SC, should be good for 5-8 psi of boost. And make insane low end torque.
Yes! More Toyota content!
I have a coastal off road bumper and love it, if you have the know how or use a local shop to weld it up.
Get JBA upper control arms. Way better than SPC. Plus they look better!
Yoooo, where can i find that Daytona Floor Jack height extender?
It NEEDS the Motion Auto TV livery and paint scheme!!!
New intro is 👌🏻. I would love to see a Maxxpowell and MATV collab on a build on this. Anyone think the same?
The only generation with the V8.
what did you put the rear shocks at when you put them in
It actually looks good 👍
Im stoked on it!
How much offset on those wheels??? Doing the same with my 4runner. Put on some 265/70/17s and they rub when I make hard turns. Not sure how much offset I need with new wheels.

@motionauto Trevor add the original intro song, for the outro , and more 4Runner things!
Oh,is it a hollyday?two videos in one day-just joking.keep up the good work
JBA Off-road upper control arms!
So, did those Bilstein adjustables save you about 4 pounds and give better traction for the holeshot?
Coz Konis do
Nice tire choice!
Thanks! 👍
Whats up with the c10 stick to one project trevor 🤦♂️
These parts have been sitting around the shop for about 6 months now. I needed to get this done before I could drive or sell it. C10 is still happening. Rome wasn't built in a day
Mix it up I like the variety
Turn it from a 4runner, to a PreRunner :D
Remove both bumpers and get some nice metal things to increase the approach and departure angle
Look at Coastal Offroad, they do good sutff.
Tire carrier is good idea in the back
Get rid of the side steps
Get snorkel for it
Get a nice light bar on top
Look up proline4x4 for the roof rack for a nice low profile one.
