iPhone X Screen Pop Issue: Unresponsive to Touch

- Apple's iPhone X has some issues. Many users (including myself) are hearing a weird pop or creaking noise when the display is pressed, such as when using 3D Touch
Mine makes that noise when I force touch on the bottom left corner of the display. It's really annoying. I had to run down to the Apple store to swap it out.
This, among other issues, has really made me question Apple's status as a premium brand. What are your thoughts about this device?

I work in retail and as of today I have ran into 6 IPX units that we've sold and have came out of box either just not working or just the display is dead. Apple needs to step up their game. :P

That’s really annoying... I’m always getting discourage in buying the x... I’m just gonna stick with my 7+ and wait for the next iPhone which I’m sure Apple will fix all these issues. Thanks bud for this video.

I have had an iPhone X for about 3 years now.. and today when I was looking at it I noticed the screen was bowing out of the frame from the center. I could push down and it would partially go back into the frame. I read online that this could be the result of the battery swelling. I am not sure yet. I don't know how much it would cost to have the battery replaced. mine is also dark grey and has 256GB of memory. I wonder if it is something specific to the higher member phones.. maybe there is very little room and if there is a slight amount of battery swelling it will cause the screen to separate from the frame?
I've seen this on Apple and Samsung phones alike, unfortunately that's an issue with lithium ion batteries. You can help mitigate this by keeping it away from heat & cold, and avoiding damaging the battery cells. Otherwise a replacement / upgrade would be your only options
@@yuanzofficial i just had battery replaced at Apple store. it cost about $76 with the sales tax. and they replace the speaker as well at no additional charge the said the speaker is connected tothe battery or igets damaged in the process of battery replacement on iphone X phones. so far battery is showing 100 percent health on new battery. and apple warrantee the battery and speaker for 90 days.
Lack of quality control. This should not of gotten thru. Apple is clearly slipping on quality control the last few years.
Do you work in quality control? Basically how it works is you assemble let’s say 10.000 and then you take 3-5 and test them. If those are ok then you can assume the others should be fine as well. If they would do more QA then the phone would be more expensive. It’s very time consuming to do a 100% check

Hello Again not true at at all it’s the same for most major production companies. I worked at GM 2015-09/15/2017 (shiftcut layoff) we built 425 cars per shift if there were no problems throughout the day so in total all 3 shifts ( since it’s a 24 hour production line I worked 3rd which was graveyard) they would inspect 5 out of 1275 cars which could take up to 6 hours each.
It seems to be a faulty unit. I had the same issue when I first got the iPhone 7. The water resistance seal is probably void also.
You will have to go through the process to replace it. The thing is, it really breaks that excitement of getting a new phone.

I had this problem too it was the Pantelope screws were kind a loose I tightened them and it kind of fix the problem
This popping issue was on my iPhone 5 & iPhone 5s & iPhone 6s brand new out of the box. Now iPhone X still have it...
I have had this problem too. Its so annoying. It feels like the phone is cracking when you 3d touch. I returned the phone and got the note 8
Turn off touch accommodations under General- accessibility- touch accommodations . Keep it off and it works like magic

Dude, if you don’t like it, return it. If you do like it get it replaced. Nobody that makes anything has every single individual unit come out flawless. This isn’t an iPhone X problem. It’s your specific iPhones problem. Obviously the waterproof adhesive didn’t adhere properly.

Couldn't agree more, if a company sells 50 million devices isn't it reasonable to assume some will be duds, I mean the guy just doesn't like the phone and fair enough but get over it!
Ablat Shapkat having had a note 8 and a iPhone X and a oneplus 5 and 3t and a iPhone 7 Plus and a s7 and whatever else in the last few years I can tell you that’s complete bullshit, they all perform almost the same these days, yeah one thing might be a littler better on one or on another but it’s all the same thing now, it’s just preference on eco system, design and size.

Same but seems like my screen isn’t pop off tho the bottom of it wont respond and I have to get that one button that u could double tap on it so u could access and get through Lock Screen so thanks to that but I can’t check notifications on Snapchat,instagram,Facebook RUclipsETC its so annoying
With MILLIONS of iPhones being manufactured by thousands of techs, it is reasonable to assume that some of the total will not be 100% correct. With a small amount of defects, such as, your experience showing up Apple does a great job with correcting the situation with a new, proper replacement. I have the X and love it, and if I had experienced what your video shows I would not have liked it either. But, I also would have recognised the volume manufacturing defect issue potential, and lived with a replacement. After your inconvenience I hope you are now happily enjoying the great features of this phone. Cheers from the UK.

Had a minor defect in mine returned it the next day for a new one and it was flawless. The only thing that was weird is they gave me a gsm only iPhone originally and then an unlocked one as I should have gotten from the iPhone upgrade program.
I have an iPhone X it has a loose screen like your it keeps on popping on the side but when I accidentally dropped it the screen removed from the frame of the phone so I fixed it I bought a waterproof glue and glued it in the sides using a cotton buds the one you use to clean yours ears I put some glue on the cotton buds and glued the sides and everything was fine it took 1-2 days depending to the amount of glue you put.
Damn I’m also having the same issue rn. My iphone X was popping/clicking at the bottom left corner, but thankfully I didn’t experience any ghost touches but still this clicky thing bothers me alot!
That happend with mine, after 3 monthes of it being like that the black border between the screen and the side popped out in the corner

I enjoy Apple products as well as Android devices. I have used both platforms on numerous devices throughout the years. This new iPhone seems like way too many compromises and issues to be an upgrade from a previous model year. Glad I went with the S8+ and back to Android from my iPhone 7. I also agree that iOS 11 has been pretty buggy with so many freezes and app crashes on my 7. Apple really needs to put their focus back into their software and hardware instead of rushing things out to beat the competition.
I had the EXACT same problem with my X. Same color, 64 gig. Got it in the pre-order and received it via UPS the day it sold in stores. My clicking was exactly like yours.. same spot and everything. I noticed moments after unboxing. Brought the phone back to Apple a few days later and they gave me a new one.
When you pay this much for a phone... it should be near perfect... but it’s far from. Apple needs to wake up before Google and Samsung leave them in the dust.
Oled always has screen burns, so dont you say "android phones dont do that" They do. I've had a Samsung Galaxy S6, and S5...and I get screen burns. Ive never even owned an iPhone.

I’m experiencing the buzzing sound on the earpiece speaker as well as ghost touch. Happens a lot when I type, the keyboard goes crazy. Also, sometimes swiping from the bottom to go home, doesn’t work. Will Apple replace my device since it is still under the 1 year warranty?

Exactly! Humans made and designed these and other phones and humans are not perfect. There is bound to be a few bad ones in a batch. That goes for every brand, too.
A lot of the bugs that had been coming out were fixed with updates meaning the (buzzing and the green line) all fixed with updates. stop complaining it’s not like it’s with every phone, atleast you got it replaced.

I have the white one and only had it a year my top corner of my screen started lifting and now it’s lifting on the other corner of the top and down the side also overheats a lot too

You have to press the power button, if it doesn’t unlock on the first try. Figured that out on my first try lol do your research before you make a review

My iPhone X has stopped responding and I cannot turn it off no matter how long I hold the side buttons. All it does is bring up Seri. So I must make a trip to the iPhone store tonight ........Darn!

The speaker popping happened on my 8 plus as well. The Home button as well as 3d touch vibration stopped working, and instead the speaker was making a popping sound. As if a circuitry bug caused the current to go to the speaker instead of the vibrate mechanism...
Yup that I know, but the bug lasted less than 10 minutes, and went away by itself. It happened once and never since...

Thank you for making this video..I had the same exact issue, so I did some research (googling) and found a bunch of people saying the same. Now when I go into Apple store (Meatpacking district, NYC) they acted brand new and as if they i was the only person having this issue. Thank god for nosey people, there were two college girls, (pretty hot btw) sitting directly in front of me when the same problem. Long story short, when this came to the attention of the floor supervisor they whisked us away to the back room. I had a very weird feeling that they didn’t want us on the main floor where others had already been walking up to us asking about what we were both talking about. She (supervisor) literally gave us two brand new iPhones X’s with a shit load of extras (phone cases, screen protectors, charging pad, etc) I have been an Apple’ite from the beginning when they had the original tin foil back and paid almost 900$ (500$ for the phone + 400$ deposit, for a new AT&T account) so I’m not knocking them, but that will definitely change if these little bullshit lies keep coming out.
R.E.I. I had a very similar experience at apple in Dallas at the galleria. I milked them and was able to keep my faulty one as well so I’d say people should do this more often 😂 but on a funnier side I should have still shouted out and told the other customers after I was given everything from the active manager
Also the 5t is waaay faster than the note 8 . I've seen them side by side with my friends note 8. The 5t destroys the note 8
In short you just bought the Defected model. Just return it and replace! I already go to apple store and the iPhone there have no popping effect. if you have that popping sound the water resistant is not working
Actually when the s7 edge came out I had almost the same issue with it but I had a pink line. I don't know if it is manufacturing error but when I pressed slighly in the front facing cam area then the pink line just vanished :P
... and nope I'm not an Apple "Fangirl" .. I only use their PowerBook G4 and the ipad air but only because I need some good tablet and an Notebook to do all my Office stuff during traveling across my Country since the battery lasts there for about 5hours

I got mine 3 days ago and it works perfect, the only thing I’m kinda worried about is screen burn in but as long as you have True Tone and your brightness to 75% or lower then it won’t be a problem but i do like my brightness high af

That was actually happening to me the other day.
I've had mine since day one with no issues. I guess I'm lucky or the media is blowing these issues out of proportion like always. And I don't see how this would have been a factor during development. You have to bare in mind these devices are MASS manufactured. This is a manufacture defect. The device is made with higher quality parts, yes. But that doesn't mean that the manufacturing portion would be treated with higher tenacity than any other iPhone being manufactured.

My iPhone X Battery drains so fast. 6 Hours Airplane Mode and Low Battery Mode 20% less... I pluged it into my computer an opened CoconutBattery: 100% of Design capacity... What can I do?
The bezels are so thick...not to speak about the notch. And the phone itself is so thick, too.
high not had mine long and screen gone weird all of a sudden the writing only parts of touch screen working and can't turn off and when i have can't get back on press my pass code and when pressing numbers it presses numbers I'm not pressing and locks me out then goes big again can not use my phone fuming any 1 else having problems with touch screen
