This is one of those things that people can’t understand until they’ve experienced it in relation to just how painful it is. It’s a misery.
I’ve had a fissure for a while but it was bad for about 6 months last year until Christmas time when It started healing.
It’s been okay since Christmas, minimal pain and no blood, but has now reoccurred, so I’m thinking the surgery is the only way or it’ll just be a cycle of healing and reoccurring. The conservative treatments such as cream etc are just a band aid for me anyway and I want to address it properly instead.
Thanks for the videos, not much out there from the sufferer in terms of videos about fissures and the surgery etc.
Hope you’re doing well and that it stays that way!

Thanks, and Yes I recommend the Surgery if Cream and other Meds not working as far as reoccurring that can happen with or without Surgery.. especially avoid Constipation and drink lots of water and eat lots of Fruits...it didn't reoccur for me but I'm also taking care of myself and being Cautious of what I eat and stay hydrated

@@chrismiliotodiymore6407 Yes I’ll keep that in mind, I’ve been slacking on the fibre recently and that’s possibly a contribution. I’ve heard the surgery greatly reduces the risk of reoccurrence, but yes I will be sure to take care of myself too. 31 years of no issues and then this has hit me like a ton of bricks. Very frustrating.
      Thanks for the response!

I had my sphincterotomy a month ago. Totally worth it. ONLY complication has been mild mucous drainage. Gross, I know. Irritating, for sure. I have been told this will resolve as I continue to heal. Stool softener x2 and Metamucil a day. Lots of water, too. Much more fiber conscious re: my diet. I cannot say this strongly enough: I wish I had the operation done two years ago, right after the time initial injury. Fissures are really hard to heal on their own and my doc told me as much. It would have saved myself A LOT of avoidable pain and time. Even if I have this mild drainage issue for the rest of my life, not having the relentless pain will make it worth it. Good luck! And thanks for these vids. They helped me.

Hi, I recently watched your video, and though it’s been 2 years since you posted, I’m hoping you’ll still reply. I just had my LIS surgery and a skin tag removal a day ago, and I haven’t had a bowel movement yet. I’m really anxious about getting constipated, but I’m following the advice not to strain.
I was wondering if you could share your experience now that it’s been 2 years for you. How long did it take for the bleeding to stop and the pain to become mild or completely go away?
Also, I’m feeling really nauseous even after just a spoonful of food, I feel like vomiting. Any advice or heads-up would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Chris, how are you doing today? On a scale of 1-100%? I was diagnosed with a fissure, considering getting the LIS, pain right now is very difficult to manage (despite trying nitroglycerin and nifedipine topical ointment). Which days were the most difficult post op, like, at what day did you start to feel less pain than you were experiencing pre-op?
Hate to have to get surgery, but I’m thinking I might have to, this is taking a big toll on my quality of life.
Thanks very much for consistently sharing your experience.

If you tried everything sounds like you need the surgery. especially when it effects your quality of life like it did to me also.. that's when I knew Surgery was my best option. Worst days post op was days 3-9 but was still better and less then pain pre op. Started feeling less pain then pre op almost immediately after Surgery...hope this info helps follow, like, and check out my other videos on my recovery and follow my tips n tricks for fast recovery

Hey brother, glad you’re doing better! I had a stapled hemorrhoidopexy done about 3 months ago and that was successful. The pain meds constipated me horribly and shortly into the recovery I developed a fissure, and it’s so much worse pain wise than the hemorrhoids ever were. Tried conservative treatment for a while and nothing worked, got prescribed nifedipine about 1 week ago and I’ll see my surgeon again in a few weeks. I feel like it’s not going to go away and that I’ll need surgery for it. I’m 22 and a usually active person so this is mentally destroying me as well. All in all, would you say that fissure surgery is worth it? I think it may be my only option to achieve any normalcy

    • @chrismiliotodiymore6407
      @chrismiliotodiymore6407  3 года назад +1

Definitely was worth it to me...the pain before surgery was way worse then pain after surgery...it will take about a month and half to fully heal but after about a week after surgery you'll be able to eat what you want and start the process of healing and getting back to normal...watch my other videos if they provide useful information give it a like please 👍
I've had both surgeries 3 weeks apart... what helped me most was lots of Water, pears and apples and taking a Cold bottle water to drink while I go to poop
