Of what use is being a majority without having buying power?! Do you have to sell to those factories? Why not sell to small traders who sell vegetables? Even those Zimbabweans, Malawians etc being chased out could be potential clients. Why not work with caterers? Surely they must serve fruit desserts at events? Get creative and stop looking towards mlungu for progress/ supervision!

100% agree with your thoughts! I was thinking exactly the same thing before even opening this video. Our people don't even know that we actually have an advantage here. There is absolutely no need to sell to anyone else except to the people directly. In the village where i come from in Mpumalanga, people hardly ever buy beef, goat meat, chicken and eggs from big supermarkets. Red meat comes directly from the village cattle owners so I'm not sure what is the need to try and access markets that do not want your participation. We have strength in numbers but we seem to fail to utilize that wisely. Forget about the wealth redistribution mentality and expecting someone to save us, and start thinking about wealth creation i.e. we start creating our own opportunities from scratch instead of blaming others for our lack of creativity. These kinds of news and complaints are starting to get irritating for real! Lets use our brains people!

@@user-bh8fu9lg8r I know that very well my chief, but I don't think u read my full explanation here! I never said anything about big money, however i was merely trying to point out that we also have the same power to exclude them from the local market only if we knew how to organize. That starts with individuals like u and i making it a point that we prioritize buying from our own before going to big shops. Its not as complicated as u might think u know! The point is that its really pointless to keep complaining about things while we are still the ones supporting their businesses here at home. If u know that they dont want u, what makes u think that will change if u complain?

My bro. is a cattle farmer in North West, Afrikaans farmers think farming just like rugby is an extension of their culture. When Vets come to ur farm, they ar disinterested in ur livestock problem, calling them again is a waste of time. They jealousy guard who comes in. Government is useless in breaking up this monopoly.

@@KhanyisoNtloko Who's responsibility do you think is it to 'create' a market?
Regarding funding, SEEDING funding for many small operations should be made, then next year only those that are still financially viable should get small commercial loans, those being successfull should be supported commercially on softer terms (lower level interest rate, lower own capital, lower surety requirements).
Then those who make a success up to that point, go to full commercial operations.
Those that get to the last step will be very few but will be quality businesses. That is what the country needs, urgently!
We have a saying in Afrikaans, - how to become a millionare farmer? Start with many millions!

Don’t worry Mr Steenhuizen will help all farmers, it was because there was not a minister for Agriculture only in the past. Agriculture had to share a minister with fisheries. Just make sure your product can compete with the best in SA. The best way out of racism is to be excellent in what you do and produce, so that people want your service or product.
