  • We learned this lively French-Canadian tune from the playing of Québécois fiddler Eric Favreau who learned it from Lauréat Goulet, but HECK we had no idea until I posted this that it's actually an Andy DeJarlis tune! So it's Métis! According to Patti Kustorok, Andy wrote this tune and it's often called "The Cat Scratch Reel" (she plays the parts in different order than we do). Well it's a great tune no matter where it came from. Enjoy! We've been playing this for years at contra dances in the Pacific Northwest! Thanks to my dad Louis for joining me on this one!

Love this! Asked my fiddle teacher (Denis Lanctot) if he could write me the tabs for this so I can learn it! Thank you for bringing this great tune to light Devon!

Way ahead of you, my dad's tunebook "La Boite à Pitons" has this tune transcribed as sheet music (not tabs though): www.lafamilleleger.com/la-bote-pitons
