I’m fascinated by the laces. Do you know where to find laces like that?

Hello, really enjoying your coverage on acme and antonio's shoes. Could you do a style comparison between acme and meccariello? In your shell derby comparison video, you mentioned that your meccariello is more robust than your acme. Is acme more sleek by comparison, is the difference distinct? I heard acme has more of a french style, more elongated and sleek. Is that correct? Thanks again for sharing!

Thank you Jeremy! It’s a difficult difference to describe but meccariello are always much more substantial in weight and feel. I forget where I read it, but certain Italian styles have a more robust nature due to the types of streets and roads that require that heft. Acme is in no way flimsy, it’s just a lighter feel, more GG like than hefty in weight. Neither is a good or bad thing, just a characteristic of the makers. Acme has an elongated last, I think it’s the Q90, but not all are. I’d consider their fit and silhouette to be rather TTS and down the middle. Their handwelted construction produces a very narrow and thin waist which exaggerates the proportion a little, but the actual proportions of fit and shape of the last aren’t narrow or stretched.

@@Shellvedge I see. I've been a fan of Antonio's work for a while but I've only been introduced to Acme through your channel and I've grown to like their style. I especially like your split-toe single monk. It's the first I've seen of its kind. I like monkstraps but they have a bit too much leather for the climate I'm in, so I had resigned myself to never wearing one, but when I saw your pair I thought it was amazing. It is a monkstrap but it's almost as light as a loafer. I would've never known such shoes existed if not for you and your channel, so thanks for sharing and keep it up!
