  • IN THIS WEEKS VIDEO..FORGOT A GULLEY WORKING FOR FREE I AM BACK ON THE SMALL EXTENSION PROJECT.
    I FORGOT TO INSTALL A GULLY FOR THE RAINWATER DOWNSPOUT SO DURING A WEEKEND BACK FROM LEAMINGTON SPA I WENT ON A SUNDAY MORNING.
    I LIFTED THE FLAGS, DUG OUT , BROKE THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE BRICK INSPECTION CHAMBER , INSTALLED THE GULLY , PUT IN 10 MM PIPE BEDDING THEN BACKFILLED THE TRENCH . FINALLY I REPLACED THE FLAGS ... JOB DONE ...ENJOY

    Nice job apart from you should fit the cavity closers before fitting the door and window frames,also most building inspectors don’t usually allow rainwater into foul drainage.

    Could you not have used a square top gully pipe? Would have looked better & made a better finish with the flags.

    At planning stage, I'd have put the downpipe not in the narrow side access making it even narrower, but in the back yard

    Ive got to do exact same on my extension except building inspector wants me to run it to all around to the front where i have a soak away in , it means digging all of it out and dropping pipes to allow fall from the back ...except im going to put in manhole like this . Its not big roof area its madness .

      My patios sunk in the middle looks like a banana going away from the house. Saving up to redo it next year. I've got to run an ico channel the whole length plumb into storm water and dig a foul gully in so I can add an outdoor tap. Expecting it to be a lot of bloody hard graft. Even little bits like that are hard work. Fair play for going back and sorting it. Mark of a good tradesman. 👍

    Surely rain water should go directly to a soak-away? Current UK Building Regulations because grey water can create storm flooding, even better a storage tank that can recycle everything.

      @@SteveAndAlexBuild it takes a good man to go back I once had to travel back to Nottingham just over an hour to hose 1 car off I mean it was minimal if the drove the car it would have blown off by time the got back 😂 another I once had to go back to bridlington 1 hour 45 away to hose a garage door off did the work cleaned up but the door was open when it got shut after we left shite was on the face that was facing up I had to go back as that was insurance work or I would have tried to knock something off bill as ya know travel and derv time it's often cheaper to pay out and both parties win but insurance companies don't work like that 😏

    Would you not put down MOT type 1 and then the flag stones on to that rather than cementing them on to the soil?

      It was only for rainwater aswell , I’m with you as long as there’s no solids going down it

    Attention to detail brilliant again even putting plastic down the manhole to catch any bits. I wouldn’t have believed how much dirt came out of that hole.

    I wouldn't have been happy with the messy finish around the Top of the Gully. Square should have been used regardless of what day it was.
