I use to be just like you in my younger days, I carried dual pouches, and I crammed every tool I could find in them. I felt like this made me more productive. I found out the hard way that carrying all those tools in your bags will fuck up your back. I have found that all you really need to carry is your lineman pliers, wire stripper, multiscrewdriver and channel locks. I can put in a whole job with these basic tools. Keep the rest in your tool box and keep it close by when doing those specialty jobs.
Oh definitely don't carry my rig fully loaded I just have it like that to grab and go into a service call but when I'm wearing it I offload it and just leave what I need.
@@rubioelectric3030what’s up bro dope setup pardon my ignorance as I just started as an apprentice what do you use the flap discs for ? What are you grinding with it ? Rust and oxidation ?
@jaybadass2318 our bosses and clients like to see us bond to bare metal, if we add a grounding bar in an enclosure we buff off the paint or especially when grounding to building steel.
I'm a first year apprentice commercial electrician. Thank you for the video! I'm always trying to figure out what tools to carry and where. This was very helpful on where to start
Thanks for this. Just bought that pencil and high volt screwdriver set. I have the rigid packout and I will say it is just as good for a third of the price.
great video. about the pilot bit, if you can snag a piece of grid wire, cut off the end at a 45 degree angle with your dykes at any length you want and put it in your drill chuck. will go through sheetrock or even wood. i keep all different lengths in my packout and they were free!
The cobra pliers are amazing, you can basically stand on them and they only get more grip. I’ve stomped on mine to loosen really tight stuff before and it holds up great
Great video, I like that your stuff is dirty and you actually use it haha, I was kinda surprised you are still rocking the m12 impact, the m12 installation driver is awesome, built in hand guard, free magnet that comes in clutch randomly, and hangs a little lower and easier to hang on the back of the belt like we both do because of the way the hook is
I’m lucky, been commercial and industrial electrician for 25 years and haven’t had to buy anything but hand tools. All the companies I work for provide everything but hand tools. I just bought the mod box because I do a lot of side work and service calls for couple local hospitals. Seems like a nice setup so far
Bro I also use my shears for my mc and I thought i was the only one😂. I have so many of the same tools. It takes a while to find the right tools but once you get them you can do so much more than the standard electrician who just brings a little pouch of tools to work
At Besco we do all from fiber, data, fire alarm, door access, control wiring, to 120v, 208v, 240v, 277v, 480v. Based on our skill/knowledge they allow us to do either or you can choose to only do one.
Klein has a new square that is made for what your describing. Made for marking your hole on a panel or gutter plus it has a chart for the panel phase number order.
Great video man , but the area I’m in can’t even bring anything to work without your stuff getting stolen . Crackheads constantly breaking into the job sites and stealing absolutely everything even had my damn knee pads that are used and abused taken . I’m guessing in your area it’s pretty good with the amount of stuff your carrying ?
Sorry to hear that man, we load and unload from the truck unless we’re direct reporting but fortunately the company I work for gets access to secured rooms we can store our tool in.
Thanks for the video. I just took a new job around the city (Boston) and the South Shore area. I bought a packout set up after doing a bit of research on line. Our set up is almost identical so I think I am heading in the right direction.
I’m a union electrician. The only thing that is needed is your basic hand tools. Contractor supplies the rest. So I don’t need to have all that stuff. Work union and you will be better off.
Bro Stfu nobody gives a shit ur union. Also some people like owning their own fucking tools. My boss personally gives us a card and I buy any tool I need or want with it and it’s mine to keep. I have a van fully stocked for sidework and I didn’t pay a dime for the tools lmao. “wOrK uNiOn yOu’lL bE bEtTeR oFf”
@@jlevally14 lol you obviously don’t know what a union electrician means. We have the best equipment, electricians and safety is our number 1 priority. That’s because we are the best.
@cbdfpv5070, that's hilarious. Most union electricians I've met can't even read a simple wiring diagram. Always have to ask, "WhErE dO i LaNd My WiReS aT?" I stand by my original statement. I'd rather be self-sufficient than rely on others to provide me with what I need to work. 😂🤣

Awesome video. But the tool bag hurts my back just looking at it. Haha. Lately I’ve been carrying light with combination tools.

You need to use an mc stripper. I liked seatech the best. Greenlee seemed to bulky.

Calculator video is out, hope it helps!
Nice set up bro. You showed me a couple tools that I’m adding to my setup
Excuse me but you have your TV put Horizontaly or Verticaly in your house?

I’m about to make a vid for commercial
