@@MichaelMarsh-dc4ww I am wrathfull aswell sir. I cannot offer you nothing more than my condolences and mental support. I am through unintentional apathy ignorant to many, or if they are any non-corrupt ways, through which I can aid you lot. Words hold breadth as longs as they are forged with action. The reason why I am like this is that I worked on my mental health and on shadow integration. So I make it certain to train both aspects. Both the human spirit and complete non-naivete and capacity to be very dangerous if there is such a neccesity. In this world you should always find the bad thing and maximise it through your sheer imagination. Then you can see what a magnum opus of evil is. And then know that it's even worse. I know it sounds jaded, yet I don't sacrifice my humanity and never will I, nor should I even have a thought of wanting to control another human being. I can only control myself.

The first question by the woman was spot on. I am being targeted at work and constantly bombarded to the point of feeling traumatized, which leaves me weak and feeling exhausted and sick. And then on my days off it’s hard to present well at a new job interview, if I even am able to focus enough to fill out applications to better and improve my life. Which makes me more depressed….she’s right. I just need some space to right the boat but my income level doesn’t allow that. And I can’t compete with the narcissists. They constantly win. Don't think of it as competing with them ever that is how they act not you they'll constantly try to drag you in and will make every little thing a competition and even do or say things to make you feel less than them. It could even be something you want like a muffin maybe a specific brand and you'll ask them where they buy it from, well even if you can get it at other places too they'll make you think you can only buy it at a specific place and they know you don't know you can get it at other places. They'll try to make you feel that they're better than you because they got that very specific brand as if it makes it a very special superior muffin to all the rest because they got it from that specific place.
So then they'll manipulate you into feeling less than them and drive you into going to all that trouble and run around putting stress on yourself to find that very special muffin in that specific store because you want to feel just as good as them if not better and then you'll start to try and one up them just like they're always doing.
Maybe ask your manager to only come to you personally or just text you what they want you to do and not let you know things through other people because you aren't getting the messages or the truth, and keep notes so you're sure what you're doing. It's the least you can do to take off some of the pressure until you find a new job. Just don't talk to those people you work with as and if you do keep it brief because you won't get any sense out of them i promise, they'll always lie to you or tell you or other people half truths making things very frustrating and confusing.

Same with my family -- immediate family, never had any relationships with any extended family because of narcissistic parents isolating us. Only been no-contact for about 6 weeks now. Still struggling with the guilt and shame feeling like I'm a terrible son and brother for doing so. Especially right now with the holidays going on and everyone talking about visiting their families. It helps to remind myself that the fact that I feel that guilt/shame while conveniently forgetting all the terrible betrayals they've inflicted on me over my entire life is strong evidence that I'm doing the right thing, as they've clearly severely impaired my emotional development.
Wish they would stop trying to violate my boundaries by contacting me via email or my girlfriend, going around my blocking of their phone numbers. And of course they act as though nothing happened, no apologies or attempt to discuss why I did what I did -- just casually wishing us a "Happy Thanksgiving" or "Merry Christmas". But it doesn't make 30% of the population NPD. It is important to draw the distinction between the truly irredeemable and the people who behave in ways our traumatized and mentally ill society reward.

And those NPD's and psychopaths seem to be born that way. I have a strongly narcissistic/psychopathic family. Even across generations you can see the empathetic people being born and trying to cater to the psychopathic people that have no empathy or extremely limited empathy. A great book on how people are born this way is The Nature and Nurture of Narcissism. It shows that empathy regions of the brain simply do not even light up on brain scans for some NPD's and Psychopaths. They simply do not have this brain Chemistry, from a very young age. Another great book on this is The Science of Evil. I would recommend reading them both.
Finally, if we think of where humans came from, we developed empathy over hundreds of thousands of years. If you look at monkeys, they do not act together even when attacking. They all do things for themselves. Early humans were exactly like this and then some developed an understanding of other people and they were able to work together to defeat lions, etc. But, not everyone had to develop this as we went on to develop tribes. Some people in the tribe could be completely psychopathic, and in the wider tribe, they would be fine. They helped protect the tribe from other tribes, in a vicious way. They took from the tribe as well, I am not saying they are good people, just speaking of the evolutionary benefit. A great book on this is The Social Leap.
I think my father has a strong malicious narcissistic personality disorder, bordering on psychopathy, he was never arrested but that is because I believe in the past the laws in my country were very lax. In America he would have been arrested a number of times, even as a kid. But he does very much like admiration, so I put him on the borderline between NPD and psychopathy. My mother liked that she could use his violent ways to control others. She even said this. He comes from a family of boys and she of girls so he was not violent with her but was with us, every day. Neither of them display much empathy, at all. In fact, just having my father not be insulting when I interact, is about the best I can do. I do believe he also has some form of aspergers though. He is still highly intelligent even with all the above points taken into account.
Myself and my brothers left the country, but even though my younger brother and his wife are quite nice and caring, his daughter is quite scary and a bully. Gives off a similar vibe to my father, and insults people straight away, like even my brothers mother in law after not seeing her for about 10 months. Even at age 5 she says, why are you so fat. She just kicks off with insults immediately. She bullied her younger brother from the start. She bullies the whole family but my younger brother has a way of catering to NPD's. I would never have allowed her behaviour, but I'm not in their lives anyway.
The point I'm making is that you don't need any trauma, you don't need abuse, some people are just born without a lot of the different forms of empathy. I believe we can see about 16 forms of it using brain scans. Our species did not need to have everyone develop the same and we have not. I believe that in the old days, these vicious people were put in their place more. People were farmers, they were stronger, they would challenge these people to a duel or a fight. Nowadays tolerance is glorified above all other traits. It's insane to me. As we allow injustices to be committed across the board. I have left the west. I'm not prepared to put up with this nonsense and not prepared to be mocked by weak people when I call it out.

@@Quadster19I believe you are right, to a certain extent. I've never liked criticism directed at me either. But there are different kinds of criticism: constructive and destructive. When I was still immature, I couldn't distinguish between the too, and was therefore thin-skinned about how I received it. Only after maturity set in was I able to recognize the difference between the two. Constructive criticism is given with good intent, and a genuine desire to help behind it. Although it still bruises my ego a bit, it doesn't take me long to recognize that I've deserved it, and it becomes an opportunity for growth. Destructive criticism on the other hand is simply malicious and hateful, like the criticism the left has for the right. Either way, I try to always consider the source and not to overreact. I get better with that with age. Peace.

Thanks for this excellent talk Richard. I've been thinking these thoughts for a long time. People who are driven to hold such power are a certain "type" who desperately need to prove themselves & manipulate others. We are definitely witnessing this in our current crop of global "leaders" who want control over every living being, plant, and system on the planet, but exempt themselves from having to make any personal sacrifices!
Mass non- compliance is the best solution!

It has felt like I’ve been living in George Orwell’s 1984, here in California. I am curious and question everything, recognize patterns and have predicted a lot here in the US. I have been trying to speak with my “liberal” family & friends, to have noticed the thought policing has become contagious and more adamant. I’m not conservative either, just a thinker.
I love humans, regardless of their ideology, all depending on their personality. But I have just been noticing something illiberal happening to liberals (a generalization of course, and my sample size is only who I know), and it appears like a psychological operation has been successful. I hope people start questioning more.
It’s so crazy. Social contagion is a word that comes to mind.
I’m positive I’ve absorbed some social contagion too. I’m not immune.
    ☮️ & 💟 to the humans.

I agree completely. I don't know if the plan always was to turn them into aggressive drones or if it's just the desperate assertion of the self over others that's elbowing the would be altruism out of the way. There's a saying that the bad leftist doesn't love people, he just hates the rich. Or well, simply that he hates instead of loves. I've seen this in someone I used to consider a friend who went from antifascist to antiarab. We can see what part of the word remained intact there.

Also the antidote to social contagions as far as possible is also groundedness and boundaries. You have to literally feel your own truth deeper than the fear and distrust that spreads. Easier said than done. Peace.

I have a Masters in Public Policy. I think this discussion would be perfect for students or policy professionals. Extremely helpful, especially for policy makers. Those who write policy are usually in NGOs, they partner with law makers and persuade them to take bills to the floor for a vote. Lawmakers often don’t even read these bills. The sad thing is that the strings are being pulled by “invisible” hands. It’s a symbiotic relationship.

AFAIK the systemic political problems at the heart of this presentation are the subject of a new-ish political theory (hypothesis?) called _'Political Ponerology,'_ which aims to model, understand, & explain the tendency of political systems to preferentially filter & actively encourage / reward sociopathic / psychopathic behaviour, moreso the further up the power heirarchy., and for political, corporate, and other heirarchical systems of power to trend in the direction of same.
I'm surprised not to have seen mention of it in the comments yet. Anyway, forgive me if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs ;p

Amen, brother. I often wonder how different the world could be if we prioritized placing the right people in positions of power and leadership. Sociopaths are humans too and are entitled to the same basic human rights as anyone else, but they should be excluded from roles of influence and authority. Just as we wouldn't assign a job requiring acute hearing to a deaf person, we shouldn't entrust the creation of rules and laws-systems that deeply affect others-to individuals who lack empathy.

Hi Richard, you appeared on my feed and boy I am so glad that you did. You are 10mins talking and you have mirrored on what I feel about all around us.
I spent 15 or so years within a marriage that was literally killing me. For 5 of the 15 I was in denial of what it was I was dealing with. Then out of the blue after about 2 years of total silence from her she left. I have later found out that what I thought I married did not exist. This above all else is the most crushing blow of all that I literally have no real happy memories of the 15 or so years.
I would argue that we are dealing with 1 to 5% of population has this disorder I sometimes feel that it is much higher.
After studying this whole condition and understanding what I had been dealing with I am spotting the tell tale signs of the condition with people I deal with. I am so totally with you on the politician and it reminds me of what Billy Connolly said one time in a show that that fact that a politician wants to be on should bar them completely from ever being one. Super lecture and your last question and statement asked and answered my next question. Why is this not taught in schools?????????
