I bought mine last year for £1600, needed the usual alternator bracket gasket doing and some TLC but I'm keeping hold of mine, I think these cars will skyrocket sooner or later.
Tim your old 650 has been an education for me helping me maintain my 2004 645 ci 96.000 miles, you've both saved me a fortune over the years, sorry to see the old girl go I hope she goes to a good home.
Really surprised. I couldn’t get rid of any of my BMW’s. There is an emotional connection. The time. Literally sweat and blood. The efforts made to educate myself on the vehicles. No way.
Timm, I sold my beloved 645ci, I truly loved that car. Good luck with the F12, Glad to hear it's very low mileage, most of them I hear are trouble prone in the US over engine failure. I really doubt I'll ever own another BMW, as my 6 has drained my wallet in the 2 initial years of a 5 year relationship, but luckily I was able to barely break even, just on the repairs alone, not including the cost of buying the car. Always looking forward to the next Vlog! Gorgeous car, you have done very well taking care of her, and helping us out with your Vlogs! Thank you Sir!
I was looking super hard at them earlier this year and I couldn't find one that had been serviced properly. By that I mean oil changes more often than 2 yrs / 20000kms as per "manufacturer recommendation" First couple service books I saw I thought pffft, the mechanic mustve just forgot to tick the oil box...
Sad to see her go! She's taught me a lot thanks to you! Still an awesome looking car and most people wouldn't notice any of the problems. Shame the value is so low.
kinda sad , your 650 was part of your DNA on here and it served extremely well with excellent educational content for many on here including me....but really looking forward to some new content with your new set of wheels
Crazy what its worth now ! I know exactly where you are coming from, I lost the will when I got to 70. It just becomes harder. I am fortunate now in having a great mechanic who is an enthusiast. Always entertaining, thanks Andrew.
Hi Tim, really sad that you’re plan to sell your 650i. I bought this year an 650i E64 in the same color. And I think there are not so many left outside 😢. Hope for lot more videos in the future and the chance to watch the old again 😉. Greetings from Germany ✌️
Hi Timm this is Alvin your number one fan. Wow I can't believe that you're letting her go. But if say it's time, then it's time. 😢😢😢 She has served you and others very well. All the video's and repairs. Thanks for everything, we look forward to making the new vehicle part of the family 😊. Blessings to you and your family.
You devoted 10 years to the car Tim so you can have no regrets. Thank you for all of your videos which will continue to help E64 owners like me for years to come. Looking forward to your F12 videos…I suspect many of us will follow in your footsteps so they too will be invaluable to us.
I can honestly say Mark, the E64 was a brilliant car - especially after all the knocks it got regarding the V8. 136,000 miles of trouble-free motoring (except the filter cover)!
Timm, I'm at the same place right now - selling 550i and 650i. After getting comfortable in a new exciting job life's been good to me so will be replacing them both with G15 M850i on finance. Thank you so much for all the content you've created with the 650i - it made my life with it a lot easier!
Yes, time to move on. I was thinking of the M850i as a replacement but we needed a car that we could park anywhere without worrying about it - the E31 is too precious for that so an F12 it is!
I've got a Honda Civic Tourer and wanted something more exciting. I was eagerly watching a E61 550i Touring and took the plunge to buy it because of your videos, knowledge and understanding of these cars. I'm glad to hear the 650i has gone to a good home, and I look forward to seeing content on the F12!
I had a 530i almost 20 years ago. I don't care how much people rag on BMWs all over the internet. Nothing drives like any BMW. Can't wait to see your new one, Timm. 😊😊
Sad to see it go but understandable in the circumstances. At 66 also, I am disinclined to tinker. I have a Monaco Blue 2007 E64, and have learned so much about it from watching you with yours. It's being painted at the moment and should come back to me next week. I have the luxury of a garage and hope to keep it running and looking good for a few more years to come. I put a set of Falcons on it too. Best decision ever. Thanks Tim and good luck with the next one!
Timm, you're a legend! I couldn't believe it when i saw the video title. Thanks for all the videos and the website information, you've been a massive help over the last 3 years I've had my E64 650i. Good luck with the new one.
Labour of Love! Thx for all the 650, tips and tricks, helped me keep my car running year round. 2006 650i. May she go to a great home. Look forward to seeing your new 6!❤
Thanks Tim, I used your guides many times. I ran my 2005 650i coupe from 2011 on 38k miles to 2019 on 201k miles. Car drove as well the day I sold it as the day i bought it. I am ocd about my cars and paint was perfect and interior also looked like a 50k mile car. It had the stem seals done at 155k miles. Mechanically perfect. No oil leaks and never used a drop of oil between services. No advisories on a new MOT when I sold it. It was perfect when I sold it. I got £3300 for it. I should have kept it. Only proper issue was replacing the rear brake lines. Absolutely wonderful cars. A proper GT.
Timm, I sold my beloved 645ci, I truly loved that car. Good luck with the F12, Glad to hear it's very low mileage, most of them I hear are trouble prone in the US over engine failure. Great video as always Tim, I'm about to put my Range Rover Sport on the market and I'm set on replacing it with a 6 Series convertible (F12) A future video and Do's & Do Not's and what to look for with the F12 would be greatly appreciated pal. Hope the family are well. All the best from Manchester, Bren.
Sad to hear that but totally understandable as an owner of '08 e64 650i and '06 e61 530xi. Thanks for your videos so far and wish you good time with F12 as well. Cheers from Korea👍👍
Wow! Thx for all the videos and info over the years, you diag and troubleshooting has helped keep my 645 alive…and save me tons of money. All the best and looking forward to the next vehicle review
Am gutted to see you finally call time on the 650, it has been a pleasure watching every single informative post on your car that has saved so many of us money time and grief, I will be looking forward to the new adventure of the new 650! As that would be probably my next car, thanks again for everything
Well Tim you've cheered me up!; I lost my 08 630i to the scrape heap about 3 months ago, got £300 for it, presumed low pressure fuel pump gone - whatever that is?; compared to yours it was a bit scrappy and probably at best worth when running £1000; but thoroughly enjoyed all your tips etc; best memory was carting a 12ft xmas tree home in the front, brought on many a smile from onlookers.
The old girl served you well, hopefully it'll go to a good home! I'm looking forward to seeing you live with the F12, I've been eyeing the GC versions for a while. There are a lot of horror stories about the N63 engine, hopefully you'll prove that it isn't so bad, just like you did with the N62.
Hi Tim, I had a little chuckle, I did exactly the same thing earlier this year. I sold my E64 and bought 2012 F12. It was a similar proposition to the E64, a bit of a diamond-in-the-rough project vehicle, but it had an engine-out stem seal job, 14-months prior to my ownership. I absolutely love it, so smooth & fast power delivery with the twin turbos, and a few more bells & whistles than the E64. I look forward to a new series from you, this time on your F12 ownership. Regards Ric
Sad to see it go Tim. You’ve helped me on so so many issues with my E64 630i. Roof getting stuck, light bulbs, water drainage from the car the list goes on. Hope the car goes to a good home!
Timm your channel has been absolutely wonderful, friendly & helpful. Love my E64 635d which I have owned well over 10 years and has been the most reliable and wonderful car ever. The issue with these cars is that the maintenance & running is the same as if they were new. Look forward to the seeing the new car and all the best with the sale.
I'm having that issue as well, getting up in the years and can't keep up on my vehicles. I slowed down alot a few years back after putting the bike into a telephone pole, the recovery has been a bit rough. :)
It's a bit sad Tim, but there just comes a time. I really know what you mean with the age thing. I am 72 now and inclination and capabilities have just plummeted. I am ill more than I am OK, I am scared I won't get my E31 even running let alone finished. Anyway, we'll see. Looking forward to the new beast, I'm sure you'll have picked a good 'un.
Sorry to see it go, but exciting times ahead. I got to the same stage as you with my E63 650i, and facing a 4th rebuild to get to yet more leaks I decided enough was enough. I miss it though! Brilliant car. I was also looking at the F12 650 but couldn't get one in the mileage/spec/price parameters I'd set. So in the end I got an XKR 5.0. Why not? 😁 Good luck with your F12 journey. I'll be watching as I think one of those will be on my driveway one day!
I’ve had my 635d for 12 yrs/120000 miles. It’s absolutely the best car I’ve owned, it’s cost about to keep going at times but worth every penny. Now with 203000miles on the clock, it’s still going strong
Sorry to see your E63 go, but it does make perfect sense. My 2010 E64 has 45k miles, so I’ll be hanging on to her a bit longer. 😀 Sounds like you found an excellent replacement, can’t wait to see it. 👍
I think your regret selling it, buy a garage and keep it I mean what’s £3K they want £2K to put a new timing chain on the wife’s X1. Imagine how rare and cool it will look when you’re 77?? Recon you could get it sprayed for less than £600 get a new roof and headlights. Love watching your videos such a honest and humble fella. (Right till the end!) Think of the road tax on the new one.
Hmm, well I'll be damned. But the funny part is that I"m tempted to swap my 2008 650i cab for the later model too. There are a few 2017 models for sale in Germany that I wouldn't mind at all. But not right now as mine is parked in a heated garage and the roof is still in mint condition. Looking forward to see the new one.
I started getting bills on my 645 and didnt want to spend more on it, the e93 m3 that replaced it is worth maintaining as it has lots more value and demand for it when ill be selling it
@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation it was never going to be a long term car for me otherwise I'd have kept going on the maintenance. I was too used to big engine 500+ hp cars and i was missing that. The main reason I got it was so I could have a convertible with enough space in the back for the kids and it was brilliant for that when I wasn't using it to commute. It's a fabulous car with a very responsive v8 and super comfortable cruiser. It sounded great too and still probably a great car for less demanding owners
Sorry to see the 650i go... I would like to thank you for all of the videos and information. I just bought an E63 in May and these videos have given me the confidence to work on it myself. Which I need to do as she may be a bit out of my league. Hahaha. I just wish I lived in the U.K., that's a helluva steal. For that low you may as well park in the lounge and watch the telly. Also, in the U.S., we have a name for folks who accelerate when being overtaken. It's douchebag. Well, most of the time. Sometimes, we steal a certain four letter word from our friends across the pond! Ha. Good luck with the F12. I look forward to seeing some videos on that beauty. Take care and thanks again.
Dear Tim, It's a shame you're parting with your 650i. I have one too as my daily driver, and your contributions have been superb. The 650i has definitely come of age, and while I understand your reasons for moving on, I'm sure you're going to miss it! 🙃 The convertible top can indeed be problematic; I’ve have some issues as well, like the sensors constantly showing that the roof isn’t closed, which drives me crazy. Unfortunately, the POOKk does not work, but tapping on the roof in different places does. You can still find a good used roof if you keep looking. It takes time, but it's worth it. I do have one question: do you know how I can get the BMW ISTA for the E64? Without your advice, I might have to start doing it all myself. Thanks for your great series on the E64 🙏. The E64 has come of age, and everyone will need to give it proper TLC and service. But when you put in the time and effort, it remains an absolutely splendid car. GBP 3,000 is an absolute steal for your car. If it were left-hand drive, people would be queuing up in front of your door to buy it! In Europe, you wouldn’t be able to get it for less than €15K. Good luck with your new challenge! Best regards, Marc
Thats a real chunk of motoring excellence for not much money. Hope it goes to an enthusiast as its, clearly got lots of life left. Mostly cosmetic issues... I am in an e63 630i coupe (avoided convertible because of the maintenance they require). Its still a lovely quality motor and although clearly dated in areas I really enjoy driving it and I am used to new cars, I think the design has aged very well on these cars.
Sad to see you go but, I have solved the issue of the torn soft top! If you follow where the soft top goes in to the lid in the rear compartment, you'll see there's a ridge on a bolted section that juts out maybe a third of an inch! What's that part that the soft top scrapes on. All I did was take a small hammer and Hammer it back. Now it doesn't scrape anymore!
Everything considered that car will sell and it is worth more than £3k even with the body paint issues that can be resolved - the soft top is the big expense though but just how many out there have better soft tops?
I have a coupe 650i e63 and i'm baffled by the low prices of this cars but i do belive they have a future! I'm holding on to mine! 3k is basicaly a free V8!! Sad! Good luck with your new purchase!
Sad to see it go but very understandable! I wish you much Joy with the F12! Maybe it helps me to decide on what car will be next. I very much like my 645Ci S. But it is getting old. Not tired yet but I suspect it becoming more unreliable soon :( Greetings from the Netherlands ❤
Love your videos which are very educational! I have been trying to figure out some knock sensor values on my E63 645ci from 2004. 6 of the values are around 0,7V and 2 of them around 1,1V. Do you know what they should be and what could possibly cause them to be different? Motor runs fine while driving but sometimes idles a little bit rough and drops a 100 RPM (mostly when hot). Same thing when starting the motor it sometimes hesitates before starting. Thank you!
Having watched your video, I have to agree. Time to let it go. It is a very nice example but, to quote Henry Cole, "it's good from far but far from good". I really hope you manage to sell it on, I think for 3K someone will have a bargain. A very well maintained and looked after motor. I have followed you long before you even had the 6 and I must say what an awesome site Meeknet is/has been and all your video's too. I have countless hours watching your video's. Its the only one stop site for anyone with a E63/4. I'm sure you'll be leaving all that useful info up and maybe starting a new section on the F12. I'm hoping you'll still continue to contribute to the E63/4 community, after all, you have amassed 10 years of knowledge and that just doesn't go away. I myself have gathered over 3TB of information and data on just a few E series BMW's over about ten years. Finally, it remains for me to say the most humongous thankyou for all the time you given to BMW owners across the globe.
Lovely car it’s a shame but as long as your happy you’ve still got the eight which is gorgeous can’t wait to see your new one ps what do you think about the n53 that’s the one I’ve got e63 had a few problems with it but getting there slowly thanks for the videos along the way 👍
Sad to see the E64 go, but after hearing and seeing your reasons I totally get it. Hope your 6er will find a new owner. Happy to have the E63 without the issues of the convertible roof. I am using my 650i next to a F10 535i and am looking forward to your comparison to the F12. In my case, both cars have Dynamic Drive and Active steering. The steering feel of the E63 is way better compared to the newer F generation. Do like the comfort of the F10 better. That exact point did make me think of going the F13 route. Might be tempted if I find a nice one with the N63tu but the E63 looks like a more special car to me. For now I keep enjoying the 650, after fixing the alternator bracket seal and a few oil/coolant leaks I have a fair bit of confidence in it.
I've gone from a (e63) 630i, to a (f13) 640d, then an (f13) M6. The 6 series is underrated, and, dare I say it, just generally unloved. No-one seems to care about these cars, hence their value just plummets. Sad to see your 650i go though. Such a unique colour, a perfect companion to the 8 series! You'll love the 'newer tech' of the f12/f13 though, its in a different league to those 1st gen idrive systems! Have fun and I guess we'll see you on the f12/13 forums soon? :-)
Oh no. I have followed you for quite some time to help me rationalize keeping my 2006 650 blue convertible. Thank you for your past guidance. It is amazing how the value drops even for those of us who have taken wonderful care. Mine only has 73,000 miles on it.
Love the channel it’s been very very helpful. I’m having an issue with my 2008 650i convertible top. It won’t open and the red light isn’t flashing back window goes down no problem. When you try to open it the windows go down but nothing else happens. Please if you can help me out
Wow, your logic is impeccable but a sad conclusion. I have always thrown a plastic cover over mine and the hood is in much better condition. Thought it would be worth more than that with its impressive service history and TLC, not many cars come with a stack of videos to prove what's been done to it!
Hi Tim , hope you well , I have a BMW 645 ci 2005 and the my fan now starts when I start the engine and stays on all the time , I tuck it to several mechanics but no one could locate the fan module and I was wondering if you might know ??? Many thanks
There's no fan module, it is controlled by the DME (engine computer). I would suspect the fan has failed, it has electronics in it to control the speed from data signals from the DME
Tim. Just viewed your video about the e64, sorry to hear that you are letting it go. I wish you great luck with the f12........ I do have a question about my e64. I have a cel so I did a scan. Bank 2 fuel too lean. Also between 1k and 2k rpm I get a dieseling sound, above 2k no issue. Using a bit more gas now also. I cleaned the MAF, same issue. Sounds like I have a vacuum leak somewhere. I don't have a smoke machine, in any event, I don't see any rubber vac line. Can you kind of steer me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.
Love this channel ❤️ your very good at this and your information is amazing and you remind me of a 60s rock star cool as FK 😂😂😂....what you think about the bmw 135i twin turbo convertible I am seriously thinking about getting one a automatic. Thanks 👌
I like the E64 a lot. Hated it at first and still think that the person that designed the boot lid wasn't talking to the rest of the vehicle design team and so just did what he wanted; I've learnt to ignore it. I've got an E39 M5 and manual E60 530i. I think if I were to have a 4-seater coupe though it'd have to be a Jag XK.
If it weren't for the convertible top, I'd say send it to the paint shop and get the paint fixed. However, replacing the top really doesn't make any sense if you don't love the car anymore.
I had an accident recently that technically "totaled" my 2004 645ci. I was given around $12,000 USD by insurance. Someone ran a stop sign and hit me dead on the driver's door. The door was destroyed, but I was perfectly safe. I feel like the solid/well designed 645 saved me from injury.
I can understand this step after 10 years, but to be honest - these reasons are not essential. Car paint could be done professionally and it'd last next 10 years. Cabrio? Maybe should be kept in garage? There are car workshops specialized in headlight regeneration. The real reason is that Timm is bored with this car, because he knows almost everything about it 🙂 I understand him since I said goodbye to my e38 after 7 years. Everyone needs to end old and start a new chapter. Good luck Timm! You've helped me a lot! But I don't recommend you the next f13 - you'll have much more problems with it...
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation I have an e39 540i and that 8 series and your opinions on how best to get the M62 the be lively saved me from making bad childish decisions and focus on finding a 3.15 rear diff and driveshaft
Is a lovely car. I nearly bought the 635d after watching your videos and was on the verge of it, when I found a Maserati Granturismo. That is also a very undervalued car. Mine was £4,500 with a few issues to fix. When my trusty Volvo goes (currently at 230k miles), I think I will get the 635d as my main car as they are lovely looking and can do 40mpg. Just a shame about these stupid ULEZs…
Very sad as you know, the car is only worth what the market is willing to pay no matter the condition. Same issue with my E66, the desire for it to be perfect doesn't add up financially - and on top of that no one is really willing to diagnosis and fix the faults, not even BMW.
Car is now sold to a real enthusiast - sad to see it go!
I thought they went for £5k-10k, with the £5k’s being absolutely terrible. £3k sounds far too cheap?!
Lucky guy otherwise I was definitely considering it
@@boothylegend I got 10k for mine in american dollars.

Always my pleasure Andrew, I'm a mere 66 and it was starting to wear me down. The 840ci is enough trouble, I don't need two of them!
Hi Tim, really sad that you’re plan to sell your 650i. I bought this year an 650i E64 in the same color. And I think there are not so many left outside 😢.
Hope for lot more videos in the future and the chance to watch the old again 😉. Greetings from Germany ✌️
I loved the E64 - especially after all the negative comments regarding the N62 V8! The car has gone to an enthusiast so it will still be around

Thanks, Falkens are always a good plan!
Timm, you're a legend! I couldn't believe it when i saw the video title.
Thanks for all the videos and the website information, you've been a massive help over the last 3 years I've had my E64 650i.
Good luck with the new one.
My pleasure!
Labour of Love! Thx for all the 650, tips and tricks, helped me keep my car running year round. 2006 650i. May she go to a great home. Look forward to seeing your new 6!❤
Yes, she went to a good home!
Sorry to see you go Timm
You’ve helped me BIG TIME over the years even though I have the 630.
Good luck on pastures new!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks and glad to have helped!
It's always difficult to know when to let them go, I think I made the right choice!
I love my 635d and there a future classic for sure, love your 650 and the channel keep it up
Will do Danny!
Thanks Robert, I'm sure the F12 will produce more content!
All the best from Hampshire! Best wait and see if my F12 blows up first!
Sad to hear that but totally understandable as an owner of '08 e64 650i and '06 e61 530xi. Thanks for your videos so far and wish you good time with F12 as well. Cheers from Korea👍👍
Very kind of you - and welcome from England!
Wow! Thx for all the videos and info over the years, you diag and troubleshooting has helped keep my 645 alive…and save me tons of money. All the best and looking forward to the next vehicle review
Really glad the video's helped!
Am gutted to see you finally call time on the 650, it has been a pleasure watching every single informative post on your car that has saved so many of us money time and grief, I will be looking forward to the new adventure of the new 650! As that would be probably my next car, thanks again for everything
Thanks! I'm looking forward to fixing F12 things for a change!
My pleasure, glad you liked the 6-series!
Loved every video you put out on her - good luck with the new 650!
Thanks Adrian
The old girl served you well, hopefully it'll go to a good home! I'm looking forward to seeing you live with the F12, I've been eyeing the GC versions for a while. There are a lot of horror stories about the N63 engine, hopefully you'll prove that it isn't so bad, just like you did with the N62.
Everything I've seen with the N63 says they mixed up the customer feedback on the N62 and implemented more of everything that everyone hated
There's always horror stories - if I listened to them I would never have got the E32, E38, E31, E64 or F12!
Regards Ric
Yours is the first positive comment on the F12 so far!
Sad to see it go Tim. You’ve helped me on so so many issues with my E64 630i. Roof getting stuck, light bulbs, water drainage from the car the list goes on. Hope the car goes to a good home!
Thanks - and yes, it went to a good home!
Thanks! As long as you do the servicing yourself it's really cheap motoring!
Well done for all the effort you have put into maintaining and keeping a lovely example alive.
Thanks!
You're a brave man Timm for taking on a F12 era twin turbo V8, I've heard they are very problematic, no?
his has very little miles on it
It’s not the miles it’s the hot v. Engine doesn’t have the cooling it needs so runs too hot
I'll let you know after a few years!
I'm having that issue as well, getting up in the years and can't keep up on my vehicles. I slowed down alot a few years back after putting the bike into a telephone pole, the recovery has been a bit rough. :)
Sorry to hear that, I know what you mean, doing jobs for the third time isn't as much fun as it was
It's a bit sad Tim, but there just comes a time.
You'll get there eventually Bob!
Looking forward to the new content about the f12, i've just upgraded from a e63 635d to a f06 650i myself :)
Just drove it home. what a car! New video starting tomorrow!
Why not indeed! Thanks!
Been a long subscriber loved that car. But you made the right decision 😢
Thanks, very kind of you!
Sad to see the E63 go but really excited for F12 content!
First drive today - it's a monster of a car!
I’ve had my 635d for 12 yrs/120000 miles. It’s absolutely the best car I’ve owned, it’s cost about to keep going at times but worth every penny. Now with 203000miles on the clock, it’s still going strong
Good luck with the new 650, great car but the engine is more reliable in the m6 configuration as your one runs hot
Look after them Paul, and they last for ever! I never got fed up with the car, it was just time for a change....
Sorry to see your E63 go, but it does make perfect sense. My 2010 E64 has 45k miles, so I’ll be hanging on to her a bit longer. 😀
Sounds like you found an excellent replacement, can’t wait to see it. 👍
You've got a nice late E63 there - they had sorted out most of the problems by that point!
I had an immaculate 545. I sold it for £2.8k. It's the running costs that put people off.
They are not cheap to run!
Looking forward to seeing the F12 - I have owned mine for 6 years, and it has been faultless, intend to keep it until either it dies or I do.
Well done - it's my first day with the F12 650i and it is quite a car!
It was never about the state of the car - after 10 years it was time to try something new!
Keep hold of the E64, it is a fantastic car!
I started getting bills on my 645 and didnt want to spend more on it, the e93 m3 that replaced it is worth maintaining as it has lots more value and demand for it when ill be selling it
It was never about the money, an E64 just doesn't make sense, but it turned out it was well worth the risk!
And thanks to you too for hanging around, very kind of you!
im 20 and my 650 that my dad bequeathed upon me just hit 130k miles, hoping to keep it forever
It's a fast car for a 20 year-old, I couldn't trust myself at that age with a 650! WHen I was 20 I had a 1.3 Litre Viva!
Dear Tim,
It's a shame you're parting with your 650i.
Best regards,
Marc
Thanks Marc, it was a great car over the 10 years I owned it, and it was good for another few years - but it was time to move on
Thats a real chunk of motoring excellence for not much money.
Yes, it aged well - except for the soft-top! The F12 is quite different, very efficient!
Thanks Danny, I'm going to check the F12 to see if I need to get the hammer out!
Everything considered that car will sell and it is worth more than £3k even with the body paint issues that can be resolved - the soft top is the big expense though but just how many out there have better soft tops?
It went for £3000 to a BMW enthusiast, and that's just what I wanted - it still lives to fight another day!
I have a coupe 650i e63 and i'm baffled by the low prices of this cars but i do belive they have a future! I'm holding on to mine! 3k is basicaly a free V8!! Sad! Good luck with your new purchase!
Thanks Daniel!
Timm I feel upset, I love all cars . I own my cabrio since 2009. I feel as he is my son. Hahaha. I wish new one make you happier.
My new F12 is still a soft-top, I'm sure that counts!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation I checked F12 , after you said. It looks more modern and new tech engine car. I want compare video too, )
I’d love to buy it, same colour as my Z4
Shame - it long gone!
I think if it wasn't for the soft top it would have been still here
Understandable! Mine is a coupe. @@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation
Thank you!
My pleasure, glad you enjoy the video's!
@
Would you happen to know about my question above? Or any recimmendations on where to find the correct values?
These go for at least 15 grand in Sweden. I wonder what's up with the discrepancy.
Big engined cars are unwanted in the UK, there's nowehere to use them. I drove 80 miles today in the F12 and it was below 70MPH all the way!
Sad to hear - but understandable.
Are you sure that the Style 218 wheels will fit the F12 ??
Thanks for all your E64 stuff - very helpfull
Thanks Brian, after a bit of investigating you are right - they don't fir, so thanks for making me check!
It was all my pleasure! I hope the F12 gives a good 10 years as well!
Lovely car it’s a shame but as long as your happy you’ve still got the eight which is gorgeous can’t wait to see your new one ps what do you think about the n53 that’s the one I’ve got e63 had a few problems with it but getting there slowly thanks for the videos along the way 👍
Thanks!
Thanks! Get used to fixing the oil leaks, there are always new ones!
Thanks Stephen, my first drive of the F12 didn't underwhelm me that's for sure!
Tim,I know how you feel did the same thing with mine at 100,000😢
It was just the right time for an F12!
Tim finally had enough of the beast. I will be looking for new content on the F series. Good luck with an N63 motor if that is where your headed.
Yes, but I survived the N62TUB already!
Oh no. I have followed you for quite some time to help me rationalize keeping my 2006 650 blue convertible. Thank you for your past guidance. It is amazing how the value drops even for those of us who have taken wonderful care. Mine only has 73,000 miles on it.
I'm afraid so!
Love the channel it’s been very very helpful. I’m having an issue with my 2008 650i convertible top. It won’t open and the red light isn’t flashing back window goes down no problem. When you try to open it the windows go down but nothing else happens. Please if you can help me out
You need diagnostics: ruclips.net/video/AOX7HnBRnV0/видео.html
Wow, your logic is impeccable but a sad conclusion. I have always thrown a plastic cover over mine and the hood is in much better condition. Thought it would be worth more than that with its impressive service history and TLC, not many cars come with a stack of videos to prove what's been done to it!
I couldn't happily pass it on with the faults that were present. But very glad that someone took it on after seeing the video
That hot v you’re getting should make a lot of content for the channel. I just hope those youtube ads pay enough to finance the repairs.
I'm OK, I haven't cut my hair this year!
Hi Tim I have a 2008 650i and I’m wondering if there’s a emergency trunk release I need to open the trunk to lock my convertible from the rear
On my 2007 E64 there was a key hole under the trunk BMW badge that is used in an emergency
Lean on one bank is usually a catalytic converter failing - get a pressure test done at the Lambda points
Love this channel ❤️ your very good at this and your information is amazing and you remind me of a 60s rock star cool as FK 😂😂😂....what you think about the bmw 135i twin turbo convertible I am seriously thinking about getting one a automatic. Thanks 👌
Thanks! I just don't know enough about the 135i - but the 1-Series chassis is brilliant!
Well. If it makes you happy, we're happy pal
Well, we'll see how happy it makes me!
These cars are so under appreciated…. I sold my E64 and bought a 911 996 C4S…. Still miss the 6
Couldn't agree more!
Need your advice mate. Can I fit e64 M6 H&R lowering springs on my e64 650? Thanks 🙏🏽
I wouldn't, although it is possible. You would have to change the struts as well to create the correct balance.
@ Noted sir thank you 🙏🏽
Which 2K clear coat did you use? Want to make sure I avoid it.
CAR REP was the brand - useless!
I hated it at first too - the F12 was better looking from the back!
If it weren't for the convertible top, I'd say send it to the paint shop and get the paint fixed. However, replacing the top really doesn't make any sense if you don't love the car anymore.
I wanted a new toy!
I wish I was able to find one for 3k, the cheapest ones I find with way more issues are like 6k at least.
Even at 6k they are a real undervalued bargain!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation yeah, I just like the 3k range for cars😂😂 you feel like you’re never at a loss
They are built like tanks!
There is certainly truth in what you said, I've done most jobs and re-doing the soft top was the last straw!
I've an E64 M6 and owned a 650i F12 - tell you what Tim - I'll take E64 any day! 650 has its OWN problems trust me
Problems I am used to!
Where are u in uk mate? Yorkshire?
Hampshire -warmer here!
Death by 1000 cuts sounds about right having a 645i at home
I've got an 840ci as well, that's 2000 cuts I put up with!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation I have an e39 540i and that 8 series and your opinions on how best to get the M62 the be lively saved me from making bad childish decisions and focus on finding a 3.15 rear diff and driveshaft
They used a econ low solids clear and that's what happens if you don't spray with quality high solids clear.
Yes, the whole bumper was badly done. it's getting correctly resprayed via the new owner now
Is a lovely car.
Get a 650i - they are ULEZ compliant! I know, riduclous!
Very sad as you know, the car is only worth what the market is willing to pay no matter the condition. Same issue with my E66, the desire for it to be perfect doesn't add up financially - and on top of that no one is really willing to diagnosis and fix the faults, not even BMW.
BMW service would be the last on my list for finding and repairing faults on the older BMW's!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation No one else will even let you take an E66 N73 in, its not worth their time is the feeling I get.
66 years, you're healthier than many half your age man. Don't do it, it could be like Samson cutting his hair.
Don't worry, I haven't cut my hair this year!
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is surely ruined
Any better yet?
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation lol yeah. Congrats on the new car as well, cant wait to see how it treats ya.
One hell of a car for £3k. Which I had the space would love it.
