with the changes they've made 100k over the standard rs6 is ridiculous. most certainly not worth the mark up
Just what I was thinking. I was waiting for him to mention more upgrades.
Especially in the US, as there we don't get the carbon buckets and there is no power upgrade (they don't even dress up the engine bay).
People seem to forget that OEMs pour in a shit ton of R&D into limited run cars like these. Just appreciate that they had the balls to make it in the first place.
@@matmul4850 I own a 2023 RS6. The RS6 GT is literally the same car with some carbon fiber body panels, wheels, and stickers. Not worth $100k (MSRP) over the base RS6. $20-30k more would have been a much more respectable pricing point, and I guarantee Audi would have made money. I am a huge Audi fan, but I am not going to sit here and simp over "R&D" costs for a multi billion dollar company who charges $900 for alignments at the dealership.

Times have changed, the rich have become obscenely more wealthy and making money hand over fist so they’ll pay these ludicrously high mark-ups. That’s why there are so many hyper-cars now when 2 decades ago, they had trouble selling the McLaren F1.

It’s because the average American has wider hips than the car itself. I always have to laugh a little bit when I see Americans being angry about cars getting heavier but then they go and eat 12 Big Macks and weigh 600 pounds themselves. It just doesn’t make sense

As a VW nerd I approve. This car is for a specific person, and there’s a 99.9% chance you aren’t it. For the 0.1% you get it.
Even the 0.1% knows that a livery and a limited production doesnt add any soul or heritage to the car…
Ugly wheels, same black depressing interior as every other mass produced Audi and barely any noticeable exterior differences.

Agree...was trying to think of the last time regular folks could get a sporty wagon. Maybe early 2000s. Subaru Legacy GT wagon? Outback XT if you don't mind a little cladding and two-tone paint schemes. Did Mazda ever make a Mazdaspeed 6 wagon?

I'm entering year seven of ownership with a now HEAVILY modified 2016 S6 and the only thing wrong with it is that it's not a wagon. I'm about to wrap it for the next few years of ownership, and this video makes me want to forego all current stealth and put this livery on it.
That livery would be sick on the s6.
I actually love this thing. People aren't paying that premium for good value, they're paying to have the most-special edition that they''ll never see anyone else driving. I read somewhere that there was a livery delete option, and I hope at least for the US market that's offered. Unlike the 911R situation years ago, this thing would still be immediately identifiable without the loud decals and would maintain at least a modicum of the sleeper charm that makes RS6's so appealing.
I dunno what Audi is smoking thinking they can charge so much for coilovers and a body kit, but they need to stop. They did this with the rs4/5 competition too.
They should have done this homage using the RS3. Its much lighter and dynamic and I think more of a spiritual successor to the car the race car was based on
With the RS6 Avant GT not being here yet, the E55 AMG wagon is the rarest fast wagon in the US with only 193 made. And it's also the cheapest fast wagon you can buy.

People spending lots of money for rarity is something that I don't understand nor care about. Let them spend their money however they want is my view. For my money, I'm going to buy a car that gives me everything that I am looking for (or most of the things if I can't find everything). If it's rare, well then I hope I can afford it. If it's not rare then I guess I get to save a lot of money.

My only disappointment with this car is that the production numbers are so small that my smaller dealer will never see one 😢 Well, that and the fact that the US won’t get the racey seats and will likely come with sunroofs, too.
While I don't doubt that the GT has some advantages over the Avant Performance, I'm betting you can make your $100K go a bit further on a smartly modified Performance. Sure, it won't be a "1-of-85" collector car, but do you wanna collect it in a garage, or do you wanna drive it?
How are these cars so heavy? The M5 has batteries but damn.
People underestimate how heavy cars were before..a 2005 RS6 weighed 4400 pounds, so add 400 pounds of gadgets, sound deadening, and safety reinforcements and gear, and here we are

Audi always does their special editions very mellow. If this was a AMG Blackseries it would have have at least 100hp more and weight 200 pounds less.

I’m not going to act like can justify the $100k mark up, but I will offer an argument in favor of the RS6 GT… The M4 CSL 3.0.
It retailed for $750k, for with only three benefits over the regular CSL, its manual (same transmission as the base M4), its limited production and it has bespoke body panels all included in the $600k price bump and people loved it. 🤷♂️
The rear diffuser is a little bit busy. Would've been perfect if it had the new RS3s one.
They should charge an additional 100k for a sticky shifty option for people like me
A "Wagon" today is just as rare to see than a mid engine "supercar". Audi is just maximizing profits by following the same effective sales models as other premium brands. And..."If you make the suspension adjustable, they will adjust it wrong!"....

It's a paradox. You would really only get this for the rarity, not to throw bags of potting soil or wet ski boots into the back of a future collector's vehicle. And if you can afford this car, there's a good chance you already have a Range Rover, Suburban, LX600, some utilitarian vehicle already in the garage.

I see no need for this car to exist. A BMW representative told a couple a days ago, that little to no M5 owners take their cars to a race track. I am absolutely sure, that Audi owners do that even less, so why bother with more handling performance?

Audi's air suspension on the 4.0T platform is the chefkiss combo. It's the absolute best highway bomber.

This is an awesome wagon, but why is the host wearing a watch on the right hand and over the sleeve? It bugs the hell out of me.
As an owner of an e46 wagon with rwd a manual and some suspension work these new wagons seem more like super suvs anyway. Heavy, too serious, awd, too big, and automatic.

That gaping front grill is hideous...it's such a shame coz the rest of the car looks awesome. It really needed a break in the black hole department, retaining a center opening and some body color ridges on the sides...those wheels kinda suck too with the weird accents/protrusions extending from the spokes on the edges. The race car kicks ass.

Personally, I think the fast wagon is the fashion statement. The only reason to buy one it to look cool to other car guys. Crossovers are NPC cars that people buy because they are NPC cars. No one rolling around in a Rav4 expects a compliment on it.
This thing is a 5000lb luxury car. The skid pad and braking numbers (0.94g, 170ft 70-0) are pretty meh for a performance car, and terrible for a performance car in that $120k price range. And if you use the wagon for wagon things, then it's going to always be full of crap that will roll around in the hatch if you try to drive enthusiastically. So these things suck as performance cars. And who wants to tear up their $120k luxury car by hauling plywood or mulch? Or even park a nice car in a hardware store parking lot to be hit by roll away carts (happened to me several times)?
For the same price, you can get an A6 to daily with $30-40k left over for a proper sports car. Which is exactly why these things don't sell very much - it makes so much more sense to buy a reliable, basic-ass utility vehicle that you can drive through the snow or park on a city street without worrying, then keep a sports car for those nice days.
