Love the older campers! They just do not make them like they used! A few years ago I remodeled a 72 Shasta. It was my favorite camper by far!! I sold it as my son grew older because we needed more room for him but I still miss it!
Great to hear their lifestyle explained so clearly. They both love the outdoors, visiting places, travelling. And the base is this lovely trailer. No aspirations for a Beverly Hills mansion - the guys in the video show true happiness.
I really relate to your sense of aesthetics AND technical practicality. I've never believed in complicated, hidden and breakable plumbing and electrical systems in RVs. That stuff always ends up breaking on you and being very expensive to fix. Keep it simple is my motto and yours evidently. I'm going to check out your channel. Have fun!
Love their little camper! So similar to the 16" Shasta my parents had and my sister & I smashed in one of those bunks every time we camped. It was the good times & the bad times in the camper. My dad worked on oil & natural gas rigs while we are young so in the summer we would pack up half the house and head out to where my dad was working. Beautiful back country locations that I won't ever forget!😊👌🐶🏕👍
Enjoyed this interview and tour - I rarely imagine myself in a trailer, until I see someone who's organized it well and shows how well it works. Thanks!
i love this Camper and the way they fitted it out for themselves. I once was homeless and was able for two months live in a similar one but it was longer and two doors front back...these Tin Cans really can be fun and economical if done right
I love it! yesterday, while i was in west sacramento, ca i saw a similar trailer on the 50 when i was heading into sacramento and it made me think that I need to get out there ... just wouldnt know where to store it yet.
Storage is a problem. Most of them are too tall to fit in a garage. And storing them anywhere near a big city is super expensive. We live in a crowded part of downtown, and don't have a driveway. So we store it in Borrego Springs, out in the desert, which is only $45 a month. But the summer heat is hard on the trailer... Everything is a trade-off in life...
The propane lamp is a work of art. The sound they make also adds to the nostalgia factor. The mantles turn to fragile ash every time they are used so I imagine every time the trailer is moved a new mantle needs to go on. Oddball things like this make a home special and memorable.
I moved to New Mexico with a little tailer like that. I was married we stayed in parks with showers and rest rooms. We lived in it for a fairly long time. This was in the early 80s. Wish I still had it. I pulled it with a car.
I too have a vintage, a 1961 Bonanza that is 10’x6’ of living space. I grew up camping in them in California and have had many different makes and sizes over the years. Very familiar with the Alabama Hills and Lone Pine, Mt. Whitney, Bishop, Death Valley, Etc… I grew up in Tehachapi.
Nice couple i agree i refuse to sit and watch the season change from a recliner. Very nice camper not quite as old as i am but that’s a good thing. thanks again guys you did a great job 😊
In 1971 my folks dragged my older brothers and I across the USA and back in a similar early 1960’s trailer just like that. Brings back great memories! Thanks for sharing!
Such a great tour, Wendy and Dave! Loved seeing your trailer! ❤ We are so much alike in the fact that we love to travel and see the beauty of this world and share it with others! God bless you both! 🙏🏻
We had a tin can ham slightly smaller than that growing up. We then went to a roomier bigger pop up camper. I’ve camped for as long as I can remember. What a nice camper. Pretty neat that it has an old fashioned gas light in it!
I like the priorities, beds and a bit of flat counter space are everything. It's such a tiny space that separate beds would still feel close, and they could still snuggle up on one bed for a while when needing more touch. Great balance of needs imo. Back to the video :)
Yes, I have been in several similar to that. My family didn't go that "cushy", we had a tent trailer that was ancient then, and to start with a VW bus, that my dad built into a camper, back in the very early 1960s. He was ahead of his time. But we camped once a month with a branch of the National Campers and Hiker's Association, and several families in that group had very similar trailers to this one. And we kids often gathered in one or another and played cards. I know at least one family had 5 kids in one I bet was no bigger than yours! Thanks for the tour, did bring back memories for sure. And now I'm off to subscribe to your channel! 😊
what a great philosophy to live by. i’m a couple weeks late in leaving the pnw, or so says my solar 😂 heading south in the next week or so, arizona bound. may our paths cross sooner than later… 🌞🚌🌞
I have a 1962 master traveler I think it's called it has a bathroom in it a dinette on once and and a bedroom bunk on the other end it was actually given to me I'm not even sure how much it weighs but my daughter and I have a five-year plan I'm already retired in 62 and I retired from being a truck driver 10 years ago so we have a five-year plan after the oldest two grandsons graduate we're taking the youngest grandson my daughter is gonna homeschool him and we're gonna be able to stop and see the things that I only drove past for 25 years and never got to enjoy being a truck driver
That's beyond awesome. My vintage trailer is a 1972 Hunter Compact Jr., which Bob showed about 4-years ago. I like to collect vintage items as interior decorations. 🇺🇸🐎🐂🤠😺
I hike, paddleboard, bike, and do some, but not nearly enough (only have tent) camping. I am also slowly approaching retirement age... (60 next year), but like most people, I'm locked into working full time+ to pay the mortgage and the rest of the expenses. Enjoy your freedom and the scenery 😎.
for every lock there is a key ❤ i just started my home on wheels journey. drove out of alaska in may, spent the bulk of my summer in the coastal rainforest climate in western washington, parked in my eldest son’s driveway. i’m heading south to the sunshine of arizona in the next week or so… and turned 67 in august. find your key, darlin ❤🗝️❤
I like the idea of using a youtube channel as a record of experiences. Might have to get back into it. Made some shitty videos and had fun and deleted everything. Got a better camera now, it'd be more fun.
We have another vintage trailer which is a (not going anywhere) park model. 1958 New Moon (Same make and model Lucy and Desi had in their movie). Took us 5 years to make it usable. It was a discarded shell when we got it. studio.ruclips.net/user/videoD1miYvhxzkM
Floor is good. Roof was a problem. Was totally flat and leaked, but if you watch the video carefully, I put in two slightly arched 1x4's which helps the rain run off. And I re-sealed everything.
I’m always kind of annoyed to pay for a hotel where I have to bring my own everything, and they provide a picnic bench and a toilet only. I can sort of rationalize a shower though, I feel weird about dumping soap on the ground. 😂
Hey RV'rs. Can someone please help me figure out what to do with my RV (Class C) living situation? Im out of places to park for extended periods and "in between income". Im trying to sell stuff for gas and food $$ but kindof up shit creek without a paddle at the moment. Thanks
I watch all these videos and it seems like most people have the money and means to live the lifestyle and all Im trying to do is survive since my wife of 27 years passed last February from Metastatic Breast Cancer and my State Disability ran out and not eligible for further Unemployment. Im in South Orange County California. Please if anyone has any ideas / resources I would appreciate it..
I love your little retro camper ! Bless you for sharing and keeping this little camper on the road. THANK YOU !
Thank you for your blessing! We accept it gratefully!
I'm not an rver.but I love watching bobs videos. And brian
That guy oughta be on the radio, great speaking voice
Did KBRT AM-740 for years 🙂
His lady too.... So eloquent and beautiful, what a match! ❤❤❤
love that trailer!!
Thank you! We do too. :-)
🎉❤🎉 Keep living and loving and spreading kindness as you are.
Thank you! We will do our best !
Adorable! I am always a sucker for retro. - Nola
Me too!
That trailer market in Palm Springs is super cool, people bring all sorts of unique vintage and updated campers. They’re works of art.
Midcentury Modern, unilke the leisure suit era, is a classic style to which many will keep returning.
The best part is the philosophy that the cheapest spots are the best. It is true.
Absolutely!!!
This is SO TRUE. There is an INVERSE relationship between how much you spend on a camp spot and how beautiful it is.,
Love the older campers! They just do not make them like they used!
A few years ago I remodeled a 72 Shasta. It was my favorite camper by far!! I sold it as my son grew older because we needed more room for him but I still miss it!
Maybe someday you can get another one. It’s never too late :-)
@@shannonfisher6415 i wanted to name my daughter Shasta but the old man disagreed.
Great to hear their lifestyle explained so clearly. They both love the outdoors, visiting places, travelling. And the base is this lovely trailer.
No aspirations for a Beverly Hills mansion - the guys in the video show true happiness.
Thank you for sharing, looking good.
#Grateful 🙏 love you guys, thank you, #mahalo
Thank you so much!
Even small it is neat and tidy inside, seems comfy!
It really is! Just wish we had a table to sit at!

Thanks so much! We would love to have you along on our travels :-)

That’s so amazing! As parents, we always hope that our children will appreciate the adventures we take them on :-)
Love the old school stuff ❤
We do too!
Nice.😊
Enjoyed this interview and tour - I rarely imagine myself in a trailer, until I see someone who's organized it well and shows how well it works. Thanks!
Trailers are great because you don't have to break camp to go into town.
I think the key to such a small space is true organization. And also not taking along more than you need.
i love this Camper and the way they fitted it out for themselves. I once was homeless and was able for two months live in a similar one but it was longer and two doors front back...these Tin Cans really can be fun and economical if done right
Like you we are totally outside people.
That’s exactly how we look at it. It’s super nice and cozy inside, but we really love being outside as well. :-)
I love it! yesterday, while i was in west sacramento, ca i saw a similar trailer on the 50 when i was heading into sacramento and it made me think that I need to get out there ... just wouldnt know where to store it yet.
That’s a really heavy camper, a friend has a similar one and it burned out two transmissions on his Suburban.
Storage is a problem. Most of them are too tall to fit in a garage. And storing them anywhere near a big city is super expensive. We live in a crowded part of downtown, and don't have a driveway. @@user-pi5lx8dm6k actually, this one is extraordinarily light. We are easily able to pull it with my GMC Yukon.
The propane lamp is a work of art. The sound they make also adds to the nostalgia factor. The mantles turn to fragile ash every time they are used so I imagine every time the trailer is moved a new mantle needs to go on. Oddball things like this make a home special and memorable.
They do don’t they?
When I was a kid in the early '60s, we had a 25-foot Holiday Rambler. It was great.
I’m so happy for you!
Hi🙋♀️ Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the video ❤😊 Love trailer, so cute ❤😊 Safe travels and enjoy ❤😊
I moved to New Mexico with a little tailer like that. I was married we stayed in parks with showers and rest rooms. We lived in it for a fairly long time. This was in the early 80s. Wish I still had it. I pulled it with a car.
It sounds like it’s time for you to get a new one :-)
Great show .
We agree!
What a great couple! And I love their trailer! I'm off to check out their channel! I love the name, by the way! 😊
Thank you so much! The tin can is a play on the nickname for our trailer, which was “canned ham“
These two seem to really enjoy each other’s company. You’d have to, living in such a small space. Live big baby!
We have been married for 42 years and like each other more every day :-)
cool,thanks for sharing
Our pleasure!!!
Best video ever. Love the classics setup! Mixed with new technology!! Wish I had one of them !!
I’m sure you can find one somewhere. There are quite a few of them still around the country.
Separate beds are a good idea for couples in a small space (especially older people). I’m always amazed when I see older people living out of a van.
I have a 1978/79 travel trailer and that’s what I want to do with mine❤❤❤❤❤thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Our pleasure!

Tehachapi is unique and beautiful. You were blessed to grow up there.
cool
Great video, Brian! What a cool couple with very positive vibes.
We really appreciate the compliment!
I love boon docking

Thank you so much!!!!!
Out of necessity, I've stayed at a few of those "parking lot" RV campgrounds.
And what did you think of them?
Hello from Puerto Rico friends
Hello!!!
Great video! What a lovely couple! I love their attitude about living on the road!
Thank you so much!!!
In 1971 my folks dragged my older brothers and I across the USA and back in a similar early 1960’s trailer just like that. Brings back great memories! Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure :-)
I use to own a 1965 tear drop shaped trailer. Loved it and went traveling across America back in 1980s. Whooooottttttt
Used to live in a trailer of the same vintage, called the Roadrunner. It was 24 feet and had a spectacular wood interior.
Hard to find that interior wood for repairs! Was it birch?
Thanks
Our pleasure!
Nice.
I love the idea of filming and sharing experiences, I just haven't figured out the camera yet. Especially when kayaking 😎
We do everything with my iPhone 13. I have to admit it is tougher on the kayak, but somehow we make it work with a handheld tripod.
Such a great tour, Wendy and Dave! Loved seeing your trailer! ❤ We are so much alike in the fact that we love to travel and see the beauty of this world and share it with others! God bless you both! 🙏🏻
Keep doing it so you can keep doing it!
We LOVE your videos. Epic filming of Crazy Horse sculpture.

You’re so sweet!
The cheaper the camping, the better the view: This philosophy is similar to my alcoholism credo: The cheaper the wine, the better it tastes!
I have a similar trailer remodeled... needs an update. you've done many of the things I've been considering doing!
I hope this was inspiring for you :-)

OK in a warm climate.
We've had more trouble with hot days (no A/C) than with cold days (excellent diesel heater)
Simply Brillant!!! Love the camper, Love the attitudes.

I'm very familiar with the Alabama Hills, and would love to know where that was by Utah lake?
BLM land across the lake from Provo. Fantastic views. Free.
It was the lake on which Provo sits. The BLM land is across the lake from Provo. Spectacular views.
How is the floor? Ours has some soft areas.
Floor is good. Roof was a problem. Was totally flat and leaked, but if you watch the video carefully, I put in two slightly arched 1x4's which helps the rain run off. And I re-sealed everything.
NO PAY CAMPING!!!! HOW IT SHOULD BE!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🏁👍👍😁😁
Free camping for free citizens!
I’m always kind of annoyed to pay for a hotel where I have to bring my own everything, and they provide a picnic bench and a toilet only. I can sort of rationalize a shower though, I feel weird about dumping soap on the ground. 😂
Speaking of childhood trips: we had 7 kids in a cargo van for a 3 week trip around the southwest. Sleeping bags and cooler 😎
Whoa! You are hard core!
🥰🥰🤩🤩🤘🤘
I think like this guy...watts, voltage bla bla bla. Just like I think cell phones and data concerns are designed to cost the consumers.
Yes, he's studied it over and over and it still makes no sense to him. Electricity is magic. :-)
7:09 We all slept on the floor
That sounds really difficult. How would you walk around in there then?

I have a 1989 Ford 350 Mallard 27'.. runs great when I can afford the gas..🙄
I’m so sorry to hear you’re struggling so much :-( have you considered nomad living?
Don’t believe in watts,amp or volts 😂😂
Get a portable toilet from the hospital.
We have tried several different kinds, and honestly the best thing for us right now is a bucket with a toilet seat and a liner :-)
Kind of a shame to get a vintage camper that doesn't fit your needs just because of how it looks and then cut it up and change it.
I agree.
Rejuvenation.
No changes were made because of how it looks. They were necessary in order to be able to sleep in it and travel with it.
