Some have referred to Marilyn Monroe as "mess" and in other unkind ways. I guess surviving what she survived as a child, a teenager, and an adult might just make someone a bit of a "mess".... I would never take away her dignity or humanity by referring to her in this way. She survived as long as she could as well she could...trying to thrive and not just survive. Being a "mess" does not decrease the historical significance of the home, which is itself is worth preserving. And Marilyn Monroe has crossed into the realm of being a culturally significant figure, even maybe even eventually a historical one. And this does not have to mean one was involved in or shaped politics or religion but culture and society too. And as much as is possible, at least some old homes and buildings that represent various eras and styles of architecture should be preserved if they are safe and structurally sound. This is part of this an every society's history. That she did own this home at one time adds to that. Also, homes that are preserved can still be updated in term of the making them safe and comfortable and functional for the way people live evolves....for example, people tend to prefer the kitchen to be more open now. And before anyone asks the inevitable question...No, I did not know her, but I have read and learned about her over the years. And these are simply my own humble observations.
Oh my God. Everything in Hollywood gets demolished. It’s mind bending. It makes no sense, the destruction of historic, amazing homes. It’s already been partially ruined by some renovations or “updates”.
She was pretty and a ok character actor. Group of fans should buy it if they want. But it should be a private deal. Taxpayer money has no business supporting it. It's interest will deminish and it will just go the way the Roy Rogers museum went, and he was more rightfully popular.
