I'm originally from Reseda, along Darby Ave...it was never this bad with the homeless as it is now, and I'd love to help install these systems for people as well as security cameras.
I'm homeless, I don't use drugs, and work about half of the months out of the year if not more. I've been known to sleep in or around churches when I am not housed but even that has its detractors. Have you considered that a lot of these people are abandoned because society is doing something wrong and simply excusing it after the fact because discarding others hasn't affected the "right" people yet? I mean...I went to school...and I was good at it; I had a family home...but that was sold when my parents made a poor choice out of desperation. Nearly everything I work for in life ends up going to a landowner at some point or another. I have thought about picking up and moving on to someplace that has affordable land but then who would be my friends, family and my community? This system...is not what I was taught our society is; it's as if a war is being done but the targets are anyone who don't fit a model of labor and service extraction. Rights are not inalienable in a system like that...and taxation is so ubiquitous, people simply refer to it as business.
People are finally realizing that "unhoused" is a euphemism just as much as "homeless". Anyone offended by "homeless" will end up being offended by "unhoused" within a few years. I suppose we could switch back and forth between "homeless" and "unhoused" once every decade so nobody is offended.
There is a dental office in Santa Ana that does something similar. They have a louder chirping/ ringing noise, it is really annoying but it does the job.
THIS... IS... AWESOME! Everyone in Cali apparently needs one of these, business and residential! Homeless are everywhere! Except I would have it scream... PROTECTED BY VIPER, STAND BACK! Remember that? That was legal! 🤣😂🤣

@@sunsetpark_fpv No it isn't obvious. Tons of people think they can be helped and don't want to use the tough solutions to fix the problem. They are enabling the problem.
I see a lot of empathy in these comments. I believe that every one of us regularly donates to local charities that serve the homeless, the addicted and the mentally ill. I also have faith that when we put an equal amount of money and ingenuity towards improving the lives of the less fortunate we won't be just shuffling problems down the street. We will truly deserve the accolades. Keep up the great work!

Hopefully he can share some of his profits to help homeless people instead of just treating them like pests. While it's good he found a benign solution to protect property from loiterers, the part about installing the device in the church really got to me. Leviticus 25:35-36 If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.
Hope the electrical box is protected behind a well locked door, because this showed where it is connected. Unhoused people are crafty survivors because they have to be. I hope his invention continues to help keep the peace.

I'm originally from Reseda, along Darby Ave...it was never this bad with the homeless as it is now, and I'd love to help install these systems for people as well as security cameras.
I also miss Izzys deli on Wilshire, that place was great.
@@conscientiousobjector5988 New Mexico has acres and acres of land for you ; nice weather year-round. Nice people there will be your friends
This is a really great invention. So cool. Love it !!
I'm shocked they used the term "homeless".
People are finally realizing that "unhoused" is a euphemism just as much as "homeless". Anyone offended by "homeless" will end up being offended by "unhoused" within a few years. I suppose we could switch back and forth between "homeless" and "unhoused" once every decade so nobody is offended.
I say bums and don’t care what people think.
It’s what they are
I prefer vagrant. The "woke" culture hasn't thought to cancel that one yet.
Me too!
What a truly smart and kind thing to do. God bless you.
At first I thought, oh great it's a "rape whistle" - but honestly, that blue light is pretty ingenious.
Very well done
The sound of BOLT ACTION
There is a dental office in Santa Ana that does something similar. They have a louder chirping/ ringing noise, it is really annoying but it does the job.
The sound of Shotgun barrels opening and two shells being loaded can also be often found in Nature.
True but only if there is a man in the nature. Trees don't lock n load! 😂
@@DivineLightPaladin man is part of nature

It's all those armed bears.
Great idea. I just hope the neighbors from hell don't use it to harass other neighbors.
That's a great invention.
Agreed
Well done, Stephen!
That's a stroke of genius!
THIS... IS... AWESOME! Everyone in Cali apparently needs one of these, business and residential! Homeless are everywhere!
Except I would have it scream... PROTECTED BY VIPER, STAND BACK! Remember that? That was legal! 🤣😂🤣
I still have a Clifford that can do that.
Newsflash - the problem is much worse in ruby red Missouri - where a lot of these folks come from!
Untrue…
Awesome! I’ll buy one!
Does the chirper go on when a renter enters the garage?
Can you imagine trying to sleep with all that chirping
It’s not a siren. That’s the point on being less intrusive. He could use a 100w speaker and a 1600 hertz siren
Better than dealing with fent fiends lol
@spicyroads
You've never heard crickets? Go outside at night. 🤦♀️
It's in the garage of the building. It's not overly loud device.
Crickets are sounds many people hear.
Can you imagine being a conscious organism and not having basic rights because other organisms have contrived a convoluted framework of privileges that never made a provision for you?
This is not new, they already have alarms that do this off a sensor.
I wouldn’t have let tv crews see my work lol. A factory in china is probably already making them.
Good work young man! I’ve seen the blue light used in public restrooms in Europe.
I just invented the Blue Brick.
😂😂😂😂 LMAO!
How ingenious! Way to go!!
Another band-aid for a problem nobody wants to solve.
This is a great invention. Patent, patent, patent buddy!
This is great , everyone should have the right to live in a safe and clean environment, in a place, and don't worry about others who have become nuisances to the community. 👍
You had me in the first half
Imagine thinking the answer isn’t more public toilets
Brilliant!
this isnt antihomeless. this is anti rude people.
they have no respect for other people or their belongings.
Exactly.
My neighbor has a purple fast flashing light that goes on at night. It doesn’t make any noise. Also works really well as a deterrent because people see it ahead of going into the garage. It only works at night People here don’t come in during the day though.
Mountain lion screams would work, too.
Omg! Sounds found in nature! Wait a minute, did he say something about non-threatening. Ugh 😩 now I have to rewind. Legal experts may consider the sound of a mountain lion "threatening". 🤔 Because there are all kinds of crazy sounds in nature that sound really scary. 😂😂
Bobcat!
@@betsybarnicle8016 Scary, too.
What about the people who are experiencing homelessness? Would it not be better to address the root cause and help these people, rather than just resorting to hostile architecture? Interesting that the news crew does not speak to those that this device impacts.
The majority of homeless don’t want to be helped, they want to be high. The other portion of homeless are mentally ill and can’t be helped on the streets.
Well thank you, Captain obvious. Wonderful observation. Why didn't any of us realize that?
Bingo.
@@sunsetpark_fpv So many people don't realize it. That's a huge part of the problem.
You figured that out all on your own did you!
@@sunsetpark_fpv No it isn't obvious. Tons of people think they can be helped and don't want to use the tough solutions to fix the problem. They are enabling the problem.
Great inventiveness💙
I expect to see a bill introduced in the California Legislature within a week to outlaw the Blue Chirper.
outside the local walgreens in south seattle where i live, they blast classical music out of horrible loudspeakers 24/7. i think that's the way.
Opera is worse. La Triviata outside a long time local empty business. I think that why no one has bought it! 🤣🤣🤣
SF spends $1.1 billion on homelessness each year. Would $2 billion be enough to finally solve the problem?
As long as there is money to be made on “solving it”, homelessness will never end. Especially when no one has to answer where the funds went!
California has spent $24 billion on the homeless for 5 years and you come here talking about needing more money.
Greetings from Finland, where we solved homelessness years ago. Reading these comments made me throw up in my mouth a little, so much empathy.. like calling other humans bums, it and animals. So great, so so great..
He could use radar - based sensor, instead of the PIR type, so that it detects presence, even without motion.... The bare 24 GHz radar sensor costs about $2.00 from "the Express" supplier, and needs only about $20 of other electronic and hardware parts.
Only problem with mmWave radar is the range is very short compared to a PIR sensor.
Other nature sounds that can be used:
Angry lion
Crackling thunder
Raging hippo
Dolphin squeeks
Rattlesnakes and Cobras
nails on a chalk-board
bees
angry squirrels
elephants pooing
a wolverine gnawing on a frozen moose bone
Kamala Harris Cackle....
@@Nolaman70 LOL. There are a lot of cackles that could be game-enders.
Cobras are silent, rattle snakes best vote. Especially in California. But that would terrify tenants.
Hopefully he can share some of his profits to help homeless people instead of just treating them like pests. While it's good he found a benign solution to protect property from loiterers, the part about installing the device in the church really got to me. Leviticus 25:35-36
If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.
Brilliant!!!
Hope the electrical box is protected behind a well locked door, because this showed where it is connected. Unhoused people are crafty survivors because they have to be. They'll find a way to get to that chirper's connection & disconnect it or break it unless it's locked up tight.
Otherwise, good on this man for his ingenuity & grace to try to find a humane solution.
I hope his invention continues to help keep the peace.
he's invented a passive-aggressive way to deter trespassers
That would put me to sleep. I love sleeping on the back porch, and drifting off to the sound of crickets. (Though thunderstorms and that ozone tingle puts me out like a light, too.)
Hope they dont figure out all they need is a cardboard box ❤😂🎉
Huh ?
Or spray paint and earplugs. 🫤
$500? For a motion sensor, blue led, and a little speaker? Who came up with $500?
Santa Monica, and the coastal area, that's a McDonald's meal now.
Can you imagine? His elderly female neighbor said "now I can just go down to my car" 😢😢 like it's some kind of miracle. 😓😞 What HAPPENED?? Cartels, open borders, an opiod so powerful you can die in the hospital going through detox, which I had never heard before yesterday. It's so much worse than heroin, and I could have never imagined anything worse! We are living in a nightmare.
Thank you sir, love the ingenuity!
You're welcome Sylvia. The 20-month old toddler, Robin, who fear & trembling inspired me to do this no longer fears going shopping with her mom in their car. THAT is the best reward, believe me.

Looks just like my 1980 car alarm. It flashes light and makes a loud chirping sound just like this
We are wasting so much time trying to punish and deter people that are unsheltered when we really should be spending all that time and effort on trying to find solutions to help those of us that becomes unsheltered.
That is what the government should be doing, not a citizen trying to keep the homeless off his property.
They shouldn't be trespassing in the first place.
This is a solution. It will motivate them to become less homeless.
Your bleeding heart is part of the problem
The problem is that the solution requires people being willing to stop abusing whatever substance it is that they are abusing. One cannot succeed in helping another person If they aren't willing to help themselves 🤷
