those croc-heads really only sounded 'satisfying' with the extra "cave-level Reverb" that the game added on for them...you may find a Bonus Game that has the heads, but Not the reverb...it makes the "boOWAAACK!" sound like just "bwat!"

The first half makes me shake my 🍑 and the second half makes me cry 🥲 that damn melody coming in at 1:11 is not an obvious way to go with this track but it works perfectly to stir up an emotion you can't quite place. And then right back into booty bounce. David is a genius

Our brother, your work is phenomenal. You have my recognition and respect. You can feel it in the remastered music, having the love that you work with. Congratulations!!!
A superb restoration. Great job! Although I don't recall this, but I think that the bubbling sounds also play after around 1:02 in the original song, which then stops once the guitar comes back in at around 1:10.
You are doing gods work restoring what was once thought was lost, I apreciate your dedication and talent at instead of finding masters, you just go out and find the hardware they used.
FWIW, I believe Wise said he never had masters, he just compressed the samples first and worked from there. Even he never heard these in as good of quality as what Sam has created.
Sadly those samples had to be reduced to single cycle wave forms wich then gets copy pasted & looped to simulate the effect of a long instrument,,,but not only that,, those samples were also reduced to 4bit adpcm ,wich the snes then has to try to fill in the missing data by following those corrosponding points of data in it,sometimes those single cycle wave forms were even faster recorded to save futher more space, the snes then has to stretch it back to it’s original speed, resulting in harsch audio☹️, so with these restored versions of snes game songs, we will discover what we have missed all the time😀
Just to think if Rare decided to release a Donkey Kong Country Collection! These restored soundtracks would be a perfect fit if they had a arrange option! Great job man! 👏🏾👏🏾
Just wanted to say thank you for this series. The music to these games has always stuck with me til this day. To hear them uncompressed is quite a treat. This game will forever be Christmas break 1995 for me.
Love the synths, really poignant in this restoration. David Wise's original uses a lot of stereo mixing with different samples to give them more of an echo chamber and create distance, also as you restore samples and make them clearer, the loudness starts to battle it out making it loose some sleek blending and charm. Please, hear me out, I say this not to slate your work, but, more that it reminded me of the appreciation behind understanding music in this way and what makes the music in Donkey Kong country so special to any other video game. Thank you for making this =]
I love your work. I think the bass line is a bit lower in the game though, or maybe is just more muffled idk. But that's the only thing that felt a bit "worse" than the rest. It all sounds amazing!
Maravillosa música cuando jugaba,me hacía mucho pensar en mí familia y todo lo importante del mundo bueno en general,y no pensar en lo malo, por desgracia abunda lo malo.
The Donkey Kong Country games are special to me because they are maybe the only video games me and my Dad both loved to play. Thank you David Wise for these beautiful melodies that link us.
1:42 Really not trying to nitpick, but shouldn't the lower note of the guitar be a G sharp instead of a G? That being sad, I recently discovered your channel, and it is easily my favorite. The DKC2 soundtrack is my favorite of all time and you're doing Gods work restoring all these songs. I would never have thought they could sound any better! If you released all of these on a single CD or album (if you already have, pls tell me), I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
Great so far, but I guess there's s little mistake; the part at 1:28 is almost silent. Usually you can hear it so I don't know why yours is almost silent in your rework.
I just stumbled upon your work. Great stuff, thanks! I wanted to ask if you could copy the FLACs to your Dropbox folder, since they only seem to have the FLP project files and the MP3s. Or a Google Drive folder? Thank you.
In the video the wrong bass sound is used and I took a little too much creative liberty with the Brazilian percussion. Check out the download links for the latest update

Hey Sam! First off, fantastic work! I love listening to these songs in their uncompressed glory. I was confused as to whether you had done this song yet, as it wasn't in the DKC2 music playlist. It needs to join its brethren!
