It’s not the stove fire that warms me up, it’s your personalities!
What a great act of kindness to help the little girl and her dad. They must have been so thankful. Beautiful countryside scenes to end on too. 🤗
I didn’t want this to end I could watch you guys all day love and blessings to you beautiful people
What a beautiful video, full,of bitter-sweet observations and views. As Autumn, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness arrives, your gentle journey makes the cosy dark nights very appealing.
You having the voice of a poet. Much appreciated.
Once the candles are burning and it is cold enough to light the fire, it is the most relaxing place.
Nice to see you guys cruising again and showing us your beautiful country and waterways 👍😊 stay safe and healthy and keep on cruising 👍😊❤️
thank you , you made my day a bit more manageable. the guy doing the art work on the canal was like a ray of hope in place that has lost things. thank you for what you show us, all of it and the stories, yes Rich, start painting. I love your crystal Fran.🧚♀
I also did a painting on my Instagram page of a surreal curly whirly canal with boats.
Thank you ❤️
Another really fantastic video even though you did mention the not so good time in town. That was really kind of you two to help the father and the little girl. Especially letting her use your shower facilities and that is one of the things that make you two so special and a pleasure to watch. You are a wonderful couple.
Thank you
Is it my imagination but the dogs look happy to be cruising again with plenty of different walks.
They definitely seem happier and more excited about life now. It must be great for them to have new places to explore all the time.
God bless you both
Lovely to see you two, always a cheery presence!
I know not every day is smashing on the canal but you both manage to make me smile every time I tune in to your channel. So cool that you take off on walks to explore the places in more depth too, what a lovely life!
Thanks so much
Enjoying the moment... lovely 🐾💚
The blacking on the stove could just be from opening it while lit. Luckily, for humanity, smoke rises! :) The refresh looks really lovely!
I think that is absolutely right
Nice blouse MRS chimneysweep has!
What a lovely episode. Thank you both. Exceptional music choices as always. 👍🏻
Chim chim cheree, I loved the days when that song was in the top 40, The New Christie Minstrels, great song.
Agree! I would rather live in the conversion than those ugly boxes they do these days! So glad to have you back, missed you both! Yes looks can be deceiving, shame that narly tree was amazing, it would be very old!
Lovely vlog, those coke ovens would make lovely hobit houses😂
Rich hope the heat from fire doesn't affect your paints in top drawer. Good job you were able to help little Megan and dad. 💚
How ironic that the village of church has closed its church. Thanks for sharing your cruise and well done in helping the father and daughter in their moment of need. All the best.
I think that 'Kirk' may have the same meaning in most of Scandinavia also, we done Nordic coach tour years ago and from memory that word was used for a church.
GOOD MORNING! from Australia . I have my cup of tea ready
.....would you like to fly in my beautiful balloon, as the song goes. Nice vlog, I really enjoyed that. It felt homely x
Hi Fran and Rich, really enjoyable video, with excitement! That little girl took that in her stride eh. I probably would have cried from shock at that age. Luckily it was close to you. All the best to you both.
Sooo fab to have you guys back cruising again. Welcome back and looking forward to your journeys
Thanks so much! 😊
SO LOVELY.......I think I've got some catching up to do. Those lovely art drawers 😍
Hi Gaynor welcome aboard. Don’t get too distracted from your art making watching us. 😂
❤ so good to see you cruising again.
Rich - You just need to get a Frizzy Wig and you could be the New ‘Bob Ross’ from the 70’s 🎨
Ha Ha and paint lots of 'happy trees' 😂
@@FloatingOurBoat and use lots of ‘Titanium White’…. He always uses Titanium White 😂
sos pads and dawn will clean paint and glass, use lots of water to keep things lubricated
Lovely surprise bumping into you both on Chorley market today. I’m the one with pinkish hair (just in case you met any other subscribers).we live about 8 miles away so it was a new experience for us too. Hope you didn’t get too wet..Viv
Lovely to meet you too, We managed to hide from the rain while we treated ourselves to a bit of lunch. Now back on the boat tucking into Chorley cakes ☺️
@@FloatingOurBoat if you’re going down the Leigh branch we might meet again .take care viv
Love watching your videos - so happy you are cruising again 🙂
Great vlog Fran & Rich, enjoyed it. 🌸🙏🙋♀️🩷
Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful adventure and well done for saving the young lass and her push bike. I hope that the both of you and the doggies are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Our pleasure!
A great dog walk to Liverpool 😊❤

What a beautiful video, thank you so much for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
beautiful xx
I really enjoyed this thank you so much…
A nice cruise,always refreshing watching your channel,thank u.xx🌏🌸
Glad you enjoyed it
We are just so happy to see you cruising again. Your presentation and editing style is wonderful, so relaxing and yet informative and interesting. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I live in the Fens where we have a lot of identical reflective strips from telegraph wires to deter/guide swans.
Enjoyed the cruise and the views. Well done.
Used here in the colonies to alert crop dusting planes.
That building would have made great housing.
The stove cleaned up well . I've just done mine. Of course the glass always starts the season lovely and clean but cleaning it during the winter is rather trickier. This time however I have a new tool in the form of a loofah. It won't melt or scratch the glass and you can use it on hot glass when the soot seems easier to shift. Best of all it's 100% organic!
Thats a good tip
To clean your glass on your fire wood ash and water on a cloth works, don’t need special cleaning stuff, same as soot on your paint work too.
We do that. We never use chemicals except a little baking powder if it is bad
Thanks for the lovely video.
brilliant as always, thank you for sharing
Great vlog, I enjoy your commentary.
the area with power cables, with reflective markers on them, i believe are to worn swifts that have selective spots to swoop down to pick up water on the canal whilst still in flight.just amazing to watch.we have a few arears on the mon&brec canal, where the swifts do exactly that, kind regards jenny&dave.
Thank you for the info
The CD type things on the electric wires are to help prevent the swans and geese flying into the electric wires and being killed. A familiar site in the Fens where we have many winter visitors, unfortunately everytime a bird gets killed we have a power cut/blip. Often see the dead swans in the fields, a very sad sight. The Power company tries to cover more areas each year.
😢
Thanks
Thank you so much Dennis x
Turning the Church into a Pub! Sacrilege. Beautiful church..
Not a pub, a community hub, a centre for everyone to meet up I guess
Happy Equinox...happy your weather (and ours FL/USA) is cooling down. Peaceful narrow boating. enjoyed the walk with you and your sweet k9s. ❤
Hi guys!
Winter draws on, Fran. 😁
Happy to be cruising again?
All the best.
We are very happy. Life is now moving just fast enough for us.
Ah the sandy rain !! How lovely to have a balloon land nearby too❤
Glad to see you watched til the end David 😀 we’re heading your way - if Wigan locks ever open again! 🙄🙏
The items on the lines to warn swans ducks geese, almost right with hang gliders 😚🦆
Just found you all... What an enjoyable vid. Thank you
Thank you so much x
Thank you for your vlog.
Great vlog as always, love the tee shirt Rich.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the video you two 😊
Hi Fran and Rich walked past you tonight with my dog hope you enjoy your stay if you walk over the bridge behind you and go under the motorway it is beautiful so much scenery keep up the good work love your channel.
Ah thank you. we did walk yesterday from the bridge ahead and went up the hill, it is gorgeous. Say hello if you see us again.
Love your vlogs. After seeing you trip to Liverpool we decided to visit there from Australia as part of our trip. Fabulous time and did a Beatles tour as I believe you did. My husband son and I all enjoyed it so much. Plus some museums. We only had a few days but had a great time. Back home now but some great memories. We also found a narrowboat to watch going through a lock at Stratford upon Avon. Great fun! Keep boating!!!! Lol
Sounds like you had a wonderful time
We really did!
i think they are for the bats to get past the wires
Great video again and Nice canal bit weedy looking and Weather looks good for now we are heading for summer here in NZ
Good to meet you guys! I'll be following your adventures in the future. Happy sailing!
Gavin
Thank you Gavin. it was great talking to you. Good luck with finishing that painting we would love to see it all done. Thank you for brightening up the canal
Love the art work, maybe not the geometrics but the images are beautiful. Those coke ovens could be converted into dwellings, now there's a project. They are about the length of a narrowboat, 2 dwellings or dwelling and an outbuilding for firewood, car etc make one a green house
The geometric designs are based on brightwork which was the tradition boat decorating technique specifically for the leeds-liverpool canal. I think I could easily live in one of those fairy holes.
@@FloatingOurBoat Oh I see ! Well that changes it completely, it looked out of place. Beautifully done and great to record. Very important now.
Thing on wires is so birds don’t fly into them especially swans, geese, with wires being near a water course…
Hi,
The 'EYE' graffiti that you will see a lot of is a comment that the structure is an eyesore.
Isn't the ironwork at the half-way marker lovely? Someone with a care for detail wanted that 5/8 measure to be precise! In spite of the railway, and highway, and chemical works, and all, a breathtakingly beautiful spot to moor. The cabinet for your art supplies is perfect! Goes so well with the cleaned up wood stove. So happy to see your videos again.
Thank you Elizabeth, the beauty of the area does break through the industry
The dogs running along in the water. 🤣 Great fun and good cool down.
They had a wonderful time
Love all the views and your sweet dog love the video blessings sent to you all dog too hugs and kisses for him
nice video love your editing
💜💙💚
The stonework still standing will out last what is built today great workmanship.
Hi! re the the silver items on the power lines near water, these are generally put there to stop birds flying into the wires, also on some of the high power transmission lines you will see bright coloured balls, these are for hang gliders. regards Mike👍👍
I’m so glad your back cruising. I’ve missed watching you both.😊
Sandles will be on sale if you can find your size….just a thought!
Such a shame that the foul graffiti has to adorn such a beautiful part of the country. Just had a giggle to myself. When I saw the sign go across the screen, I thought it said Aspen Colliery CAKE ovens. Oh dear, getting worse!! 😀
Another interesting video, thank you. Longer nights coming up so need to make the most of fall weather. The fire looked good after working on it. Well done. Such a shame about the run down areas you see on your travels, but thats life unfortunately.🎉. Will you stay in a marina over winter, So everything is nearer and easier for you? Dogs look happy trotting along the towpaths and grassed area. They do well with all the travelling you do with them. Take care and safe xx🙋🙏🛥️🏡
Thank you. We never stay in marinas, we love winter on the canal with all the open views and quiet canals.
Hi Fran & Rich: The last days of summer for you and the sunshine peeped out just in time for you to wear all of your summer dresses. Rich's new art supplies cabinet was a real find! Now you can get cracking on creating some paintings. Happy Autumn Equinox (which just happened Friday just before midnight). In Seattle, WA we are getting some much-needed rain, as we're in a severe to extreme drought in Washington state. I hope you all aren't experiencing drought in the UK. Jenny
Hi Jenny, no drought for us this year, we have had our rain and yours I think.
@@FloatingOurBoat🌧☂🙂
Funny to see all the geese in a line. Once we were canoeing on a rural river and could hear the strangest loud noises, there was a railway bridge high above us and were approaching a blind curve. We hugged the bank and slowly peeked to see what the racket was. To our amazement it was a large group of geese in V formation all slapping their wings but not lifting off the water. It was like they were standing upright, if they had that sort of body , and flapping their wings for all they were worth.
I guess they were practicing for the long flights south, building their strength and the formation . Strangest thing but I did thank whoever is in charge for the opportunity to see something so rare, they were far away from people so we’d never have seen them if we’d not been in the canoe. 🙋🏼♀️
That sounds amazing. O love watching them fly in formation and then see one take over the lead from another
The things hanging on the electricity wires are to stop large birds such as swans from flying into them. Enjoying watching your travels again!
Kind & enchanting a couple you are! God bless you.
That is so kind. Thank you
Hi Rich & Fran, thank you so much for sharing your day with us, Absolutely lovely 😍 xx😊
Our pleasure!
You guys are so lucky to have each other on this great adventure through life!
We are and we never forget that
Yet more swing bridges all on wrong side to boat moorings😢😢. (God know how they all seemed to be built like that). Nice to see some sun thou.
It has something to do with the ropes for the horses not getting caught
@@FloatingOurBoat could be? That’s a better answer than anybody at CRT ever come up with. I thought maybe they were all left open for boats when put in with having chains as well to pull across. Whatever reason they are a pain to deal with especially compared to stainforth & keadby canal etc.
Fantastic little cupboard, perfect goes with the fire. Thankyou that was a lovely little escape to the canals
Made a good job of the woodburner. The rope seal goes flat after a while loosing its sponginess so hopefully the new one will make a better seal. You might do it already but using 0000 grade steel wool cleans the glass well and does not scratch. Wetted newspaper with ash on it also helps to clean soot off the glass.
Your videos always have such a nice feel to them. They always leave me feeling better than I did before I've watched them. Thanks.
That is all we can ask for. Thank you x
Im so glad youns are back. Your very nice to help the child.Hi dogies.God bless.
Fabulous cruise. So interesting. Colours and filming just perfect. Well done on your kindness to the wee girl. Loved balloon landing. Thank you. Take care and happy painting Rich.
How cool was the hot air ballon ,it landed perfectly unlocked the time I was in one and we got dragged for ever with the wind 😅 what a lovely video, thank so much so sharing it
Awesome video, so lovely to see you back cruising again. Jess and Archie look like they're having a great time too. You are so entertaining and have such kind hearts, so glad I found your channel. Take care, looking forward to the next video.
Thanks so much! 😊
I do love your vlogs… glad to see you cruising again…. nothing like a warm shower after a dip in the canal.. thx for being there to help❤️❤️❤️
It was just lucky that we had a tank of hot water!
What a lovely video , wonderful that you helped the young girl out that was so kind …… can’t wait to see the fire going I Bet it will be so nice and cozy to sit in front of with a good book 📕…… 📚💞📚
It is the perfect spot on a cold day
Warning devices on power lines are usually to deter birds. We have large scale feeding grounds for swans around here and before they were added, no end of swans were killed or injured flying into the power lines. I'd assume the same applies in this case.
Good to see both of you back to what you do best .... really enjoyed your trip and lovely weather in the north!
❤ Had A Real Crappy Day Today..Sat Down and turned on your video felt my mood lifting and my blood pressure coming back down 😊❤ Thank You Both For Your Awsome Videos you both are life savers in my Book !! Love from California 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you so much that is wonderful. Hope you had a better day today.
You are in the region where I grew up as a kid. We were taken on many walks to explore the industrial heritage but I always found the old buildings threatening and claustrophobic. A great channel to watch for industrial history in Lancashire is Martin Zero. So glad to see you are back into enjoying cruising.
I understand that feeling about the old buildings, they can look a bit foreboding. We do know about Martin zero but haven't watched for some time. We will go back and have a look
Really lovely relaxing episode. Well done both of you.(and the dogs, of course). Enjoy the rest of your journey. Stay healthy.
Another phantastic vlog from some phantastic people 💕
Love from Denmark
I use vinegar to clean our stove glass keep it up love watching
16:15 we got one need to put drill on end
The brush worked well but we will try it with the drill next time
