Can't believe it was already 36 years ago when I walked MBK mall the first time when it was newly opened and I was just a boy. MBK changed a lot through years.
MBK was THE spot for foreign tourists to buy their souvenirs and other stuffs. So painful to learn about Tokyu Department Store not there any more. Great to see that there are 2 new halal restaurants namely The Beef Master and Ali's Indian and Thai to try out when Bangkok finally reopens.. Loved eating at the food court before the pandemic, the halal kao mok gai and noodle with soup were affordable and nice.

Never thought I would see MBK like this. Before it was hard for the sellers as there were so many shops and stalls selling the same thing so you could get a deal on what you wanted like a phone or electronics now it must be so tough for them trying to make a living now. The update of the mall looks good can’t wait until next year when I get to go back 🤞🤞🤞. Great vlog

Sadly, not the same MBK I remember; don't think I'll be going back. Gone is the character and charm it once had. I mean it wasn't a glamourous place to shop at, but that was the point of going there. If you wanted high-end, you'd go to Emporium, Central Chitlom, Paragon etc. MBK was just MBK. They've stripped it of its charm and sterilized it into something it was never meant to be.

Nice to see the MBK, but one of the reasons it always has been my favorite mall in BKK, is because it did not look like all the other ones. Not sure if am going to like this new modern version. I hope my favorite t-shirt shop is still there. Bedankt voor de video.
It kind of gives me the creeps. I lost my 3 year old son there in 2018, for 30 minutes. But we were able to find him since he never left the 6th floor. The security staff couldn't speak English, so they were no help to us. Thank God nobody kidnapped him.

Great content. Watching your videos to kind of dream myself away. Been traveling to Thailand for the last 20 years though this pandemic has made it impossible at the moment. I can't wait until tourists are coming back to Thailand, then I will definitely be one of them. Keep up the good work mate.
My first time to mbk was in 2013 and the last in 2018. So much has changed from each time. Looks much better. I hope we get a chance to come to Thailand again on the more near future. We have family in the Udon thani area that we miss so much. We will probably spend some time in Bangkok too once again when we are able. Too many restrictions to go as of now and no vaccine yet for our 9yr old. Hoping for that soon

they need to lift the Quarantine rule. Not a lot people who can afford to pay 1200 $ to stay in a hotel + another 1200 $ for holliday when you are free to leave the hotel.
In every video where you are on the skywalk with the umbrellas between MBK and Siam Discovery there is a very high peep sound. You hear it too? And you know what it is?
@@globaltravelmate It's a constant peep. The closer you get to those umbrellas the louder it sounds. When you leave the roundabout skywalk to the skywalk towards the BTS I don't hear it anymore.
MBK - The place where I got finally T-Shirts in my size :D The MBK has also a new sign on their mall. The learning hub is interesting. Last time I was in Bangkok I saw many students sitting in the malls and making their homework.

Me and a friend entered and there were crazy remote control cars that would stop and do a Transformer thing then flop around and re car and go on...helicopter flying around...I got some really good laptop cover pictures from a place there and have never found anything like them since. You know the big sticker on the laptop lid for looks and some protection. Had a Hanuman on my Acer for a few years. Granted as you went up each floor it got to be the same thing over and over. There was no need to go to the 4th floor for sure.
As usual I appreciate you doing these excellent videos of the shopping malls in Bangkok , I miss my home away from home hopefully it will be back to normal with no restrictions in late 2022
Thanks for taking us to MBK. It’s been over a year that I hadn’t been there. The banking section on the 4th floor has been there for several years -not new. Daiso shop also. Anyway, as expected, most of the shops were gone as they are catered to tourists than locals.
MBK was my go-to place to play Japanese arcade games, and I'm a bit shocked to see the arcade cabinets not being where they used to be. I hope that they only have been moved somewhere else.

It's so good to see MBK again. Planning to visit in November if everything goes according to the opening plan.
I will miss the old MBK charm dearly. The food hall had lots more tables than now, but always hard to find spare one during peak hours.
