i don't think it's in line with the highlight reel timeline like that. i think they are 2 different timelines or universes depending on which theory (the time travel or parallel travel) you believe in. in the highlight reel at the end we could see jin going for changing shit again, with the changing clothes and all the other in the pile being hints that he's been doing this for some time now and will do it again. trying to change things in a way where everyone gets saved or a good ending. because even in the highlight reel -- while at first it seemed all were in some way moving forward, at the end things went wrong. so he went to change things again. i think there's the original timeline which is hyyh era where everything started and went wrong. and ever since jin has been trying to make a reality where the bads get avoided or changed. so that's why i don't see the highlight reel and euphoria timeline being connected linearly like that. or at least, that my opinion. :D

My theory is that this all links with the grandfather paradox; the idea that in order to change the current life, one must kill themselves in the past to erase their current timeline. From what I've read WONDER is set before HER. So WONDER shows what happened before HER, and with Jimin being shown running alone and with the yellow background connects with the Serendipity video. The scene with V sitting in front of another member is the room where he stabbed his dad, they said it was Hoseok and there was a scene where it seems Jimin doesn't want Hoseok to leave but he does. Thus leaving Jimin alone in the hospital.
I think the order is WONDER, HER, ANSWER, TEAR Because the first letter of each of those put in order spells WHAT. At the end of FIRE, there is text reading BOY MEETS WHAT. So I thought (at the time) is WHAT an acronym. My own, personal (and probably wrong) theory is this: In the Wings short films, RM spoke of Abraxas (considered by some as both a deity and a demon, depending on your interpretation). It's my belief that V made a deal with Abraxas, to help him overcome his abusive father. Unfortunately, making deals with demons never goes well, and V starts a whole chain of events that lead to the destruction of the members. Jin, being the eldest, feels a sense of protectiveness toward the others and, wanting to make things right, he finds Abraxas and makes a deal with him, sealed with a kiss (Blood, Sweat & Tears), to be given the chance to go back and change things, and hopefully save his brothers. I believe the price Jin has to pay is literally switching places with V. Is V dead? From the smile he gave at the end of the Blood, Sweat & Tears sequence, it can almost be assumed that Abraxas possessed his body and convinced Jin to offer himself in exchange for the others. If you listen carefully to the lyrics of Jin's solo song, Awake, with the above story in mind, it's entirely plausible that he's singing about being scared of what's about to happen, but that he knows it's what he has to do. "I want to stay, but the time for me to leave has come. It's my truth, I will be full of scars but it's my fate." Finally, I firmly believe that the story will end with one of two possible scenarios: Either the entire story, and the members, will be the figment of Jimin's imagination in the psychiatric hospital. Most of the details to this narrative are actually in the notes that come along with the HYYH and LY series, they are so detailed it's wild connecting some of the dots to what they've filmed and it explains A LOT about their characters. I have thought that Jin is doing a Butterfly Effect and that's the reason why they don't really realize what is going on and that's why things are changing. Especially in the pier scene at the end, he takes the video of the boys from below and you see that V's jump is changed. That's why the video camera and the photos are so important. Jin is changing things. If you haven't seen The Butterfly Effect, check it out. It will explain a lot for people that are confused.
i think jin has been going back in time and altering the timelines trying to save his friends (as shown in the highlight reels) but no matter how many times he tries, one always seems to die or get hurt anyway, like in this one where he saves taehyung from jumping off by replacing his father with jhope but by doing so, abandons jimin in the hospital (linking to Omelas in spring day, where one person has to suffer in order for everyone else to live happily). I think a possible reason as to why the series may be called Love Yourself is because they're trying to show us that no matter how hard you try or how many times you try, the only solution is to love yourself. The only was Jin can save them all is if they learn to love themselves despite their flaws and all the things they've done.

My theory (a trash one that covers like nothing) is that Jin went back in time to fix everything. After his death, he gets to see how it impacted the members and he felt guilty. So he tries to save everyone. But we never see Jimin get saved. We never see him burning his suicide note (from the bath seven in INU). Jimin ends up either hospitalized, or he ends up dying and takes Jin place (the abundance of white in his solo shots). Jin at the end jumps because of his guilt. He chose the greater good and saved five of his friends while sacrificing one (Jimin). He drowns himself, like how Jimin drowned himself. The concept of a greater good is rather prevalent in The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas and Snowpiercer. But, BTS is confusing as heck so maybe this is just another fried chicken CF and we're all over thinking. BTW, Jin is the one that drives the truck

I love how there are so many ways to interpret this story. I love when a storyteller allows me to come up with my own themes and ideas instead of telling me exactly what I should be thinking; I think that allows us as viewers to find what we need (if that makes sense). I definitely feel that the storyline deals with themes of mental illness; I also feel that it's exploring the themes provided in Omelas, the concept of a subset of people must suffer for everyone else to be happy and what might happen if they walk away? I'm really looking forward to this new cb. Everything they've done so far has been really personal and important to me, and I think this next chapter will continue that.

But it looks like Jin keeps going back in time to try and save each member but the one member he can't save is JK (getting hit by the car) but he sends the other members to try and save the others. There’s actually such a crazy story behind it and the whole story reveals partly in every new video and it seems like every new video is connected (the wing series belongs to it) and we have to wait for each video to understand that whole thing like a puzzle your questions get answered step by step. It’s so genius! I watched a video called something like bts universe explained it’s helpful as I’m new in the army and didn’t know how to connect all these videos. Basically the question they want to answer (or not) in the whole series is something like „if you would have the ability to change your past, would you fall for the same faith again?“ There’s some great philosophy hidden in it. I just love the transition from darkness into beautiful euphoria. It was the most perfect way to emphasize the title of the video, as euphoria has not only one happy meaning, but euphoria means also the state of happiness that is harmful and dangerous, as it lifts up from reality. I would also like to appreciate the whole black hair natural concept. Being satisfied with your own natural looks is an important part of happiness (euphoria) as well. Let’s just all of us appreciate this great video and the genius behind all of this (whoever that might be)

one thing i find interesting which many people miss is the piano piece playing in the video. it's the same as in prologue: clair de lune. clair the lune was based upon a poem with the same name, and heres a piece from that poem: "While singing in a minor key, Of victorious love and easy life, They don't seem to believe in their happiness". that seems to fit nicely in with the theme for their storyline as well..
if the 6 are various aspects of Jin as one theory I have seen, than the stories are about the different aspects changing, dying, surviving with Jin at the end finding a peace with them and even possibly finally integrating them as he looks down on them from a new vantage point and both rewriting their history and looking out into the future with optimism. This would make sense in the theme of Love Yourself. He has saved himself as we save ourselves when we go through traumas ..... as he saved Suga , he picked and handed the money to RM which had been thrown disrespectfully on the ground and as Jimin got the help he needed but couldn't leave the place of sanctuary until the other aspects of the personality were with him. The scene with V sitting in front of another member is the room where he stabbed his dad, they said it was Hoseok and there was a scene where it seems Jimin doesn't want Hoseok to leave but he does. Thus leaving Jimin alone in the hospital.

My own, personal (and probably wrong) theory is this: In the Wings short films, RM spoke of Abraxas (considered by some as both a deity and a demon, depending on your interpretation). It's my belief that V made a deal with Abraxas, to help him overcome his abusive father. Unfortunately, making deals with demons never goes well, and V starts a whole chain of events that lead to the destruction of the members. Jin, being the eldest, feels a sense of protectiveness toward the others and, wanting to make things right, he finds Abraxas and makes a deal with him, sealed with a kiss (Blood, Sweat & Tears), to be given the chance to go back and change things, and hopefully save his brothers.
I believe the price Jin has to pay is literally switching places with V. Is V dead? From the smile he gave at the end of the Blood, Sweat & Tears sequence, it can almost be assumed that Abraxas possessed his body and convinced Jin to offer himself in exchange for the others.
If you listen carefully to the lyrics of Jin's solo song, Awake, with the above story in mind, it's entirely plausible that he's singing about being scared of what's about to happen, but that he knows it's what he has to do. "I want to stay, but the time for me to leave has come. It's my truth, I will be full of scars but it's my fate."
Finally, I firmly believe that the story will end with one of two possible scenarios: Either the entire story, and the members, will be the figment of Jimin's imagination in the psychiatric hospital. OR, Jimin will be the only survivor, and he will be placed in a psychiatric hospital with "delusions".

Most of the details to this narrative are actually in the notes that come along with the HYYH and LY series, they are so detailed it's wild connecting some of the dots to what they've filmed and it explains A LOT about their characters. I have thought that Jin is doing a Butterfly Effect and that's the reason why they don't really realize what is going on and that's why things are changing. Especially in the pier scene at the end, he takes the video of the boys from below and you see that V's jump is changed. That's why the video camera and the photos are so important. Jin is changing things. If you haven't seen The Butterfly Effect, check it out. It will explain a lot for people that are confused.

i think jin has been going back in time and altering the timelines trying to save his friends (as shown in the highlight reels) but no matter how many times he tries, one always seems to die or get hurt anyway, like in this one where he saves taehyung from jumping off by replacing his father with jhope but by doing so, abandons jimin in the hospital (linking to Omelas in spring day, where one person has to suffer in order for everyone else to live happily). I think a possible reason as to why the series may be called Love Yourself is because they're trying to show us that no matter how hard you try or how many times you try, the only solution is to love yourself. The only was Jin can save them all is if they learn to love themselves despite their flaws and all the things they've done.

I really love how BTS has changed your way of looking at their MVs by analyzing what's happening and making connections.
My theory (a trash one that covers like nothing) is that Jin went back in time to fix everything. After his death, he gets to see how it impacted the members and he felt guilty. So he tries to save everyone. But we never see Jimin get saved. We never see him burning his suicide note (from the bath seven in INU). Jimin ends up either hospitalized, or he ends up dying and takes Jin place (the abundance of white in his solo shots). Jin at the end jumps because of his guilt. He chose the greater good and saved five of his friends while sacrificing one (Jimin). He drowns himself, like how Jimin drowned himself. The concept of a greater good is rather prevalent in The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas and Snowpiercer. But, BTS is confusing as heck so maybe this is just another fried chicken CF and we're all over thinking.

I love how there are so many ways to interpret this story. I love when a storyteller allows me to come up with my own themes and ideas instead of telling me exactly what I should be thinking; I think that allows us as viewers to find what we need (if that makes sense). I definitely feel that the storyline deals with themes of mental illness; I also feel that it's exploring the themes provided in Omelas, the concept of a subset of people must suffer for everyone else to be happy and what might happen if they walk away? I'm really looking forward to this new cb. Everything they've done so far has been really personal and important to me, and I think this next chapter will continue that.

So the theory that I've come across that seems plausible. But it looks like Jin keeps going back in time to try and save each member but the one member he can't save is JK (getting hit by the car) but he sends the other members to try and save the others. Jhope stopping V from murdering his dad and JK saving Suga from the fire.
But I definitely think you're on a really solid theory.
I think this video is kind of a way to refresh the story but also bringing that storyline to the new album since they've said that this upcoming album will be a lot darker than LY:H

There’s actually such a crazy story behind it and the whole story reveals partly in every new video and it seems like every new video is connected (the wing series belongs to it) and we have to wait for each video to understand that whole thing like a puzzle your questions get answered step by step. It’s so genius! I watched a video called something like bts universe explained it’s helpful as I’m new in the army and didn’t know how to connect all these videos. Basically the question they want to answer (or not) in the whole series is something like „if you would have the ability to change your past, would you fall for the same faith again?“ There’s some great philosophy hidden in it. I just love the transition from darkness into beautiful euphoria. It was the most perfect way to emphasize the title of the video, as euphoria has not only one happy meaning, but euphoria means also the state of happiness that is harmful and dangerous, as it lifts up from reality. I would also like to appreciate the whole black hair natural concept. Being satisfied with your own natural looks is an important part of happiness (euphoria) as well. Let’s just all of us appreciate this great video and the genius behind all of this (whoever that might be)

if the 6 are various aspects of Jin as one theory I have seen, than the stories are about the different aspects changing, dying, surviving with Jin at the end finding a peace with them and even possibly finally integrating them as he looks down on them from a new vantage point and both rewriting their history and looking out into the future with optimism. This would make sense in the theme of Love Yourself. He has saved himself as we save ourselves when we go through traumas ..... as he saved Suga , he picked and handed the money to RM which had been thrown disrespectfully on the ground and as Jimin got the help he needed but couldn't leave the place of sanctuary until the other aspects of the personality were with him. What else are you hiding from us Hyung are the aspects asking for Jin to confront a truth Jin is trying to make peace with? This is my perspective as I watch these and wanted to share.
