No-one should have cried over Bobby's death though. It was straight-up bullshit because it contradicts everything we know about bob-ombs including within this series itself (See Bombette from the first game exploding all over the place with zero issues). Crying for Bobby is like crying because someone held up a sign saying "please cry now".
22:48 This is actually not random. If you look at the Handaconda during your thinking phase, it will reveal what form it will use by the shape of its hand. It might also change its mind during the thinking phase, if the player takes too long.

14:48 I believe that is a reference to the "things" from Paper Mario Color Splash, which are just real life objects that can be used in battle to kill enemies and bosses
I guess we need all those "shinny yet deadly coins" this time. usually we shouldn't touch it. I also like how Mario just absorbs the coins into his body.
Woah, I tricked you into watching my overly edited lets play of Origami King! For real, thanks for watching. I wanted to drop a quick addendum; apparently I totally spend some coins on the Trial of Courage's third stage because I was mashing A through the dialogue between attempts. Not at all required, so it doesn't affect the overall count, but I wanted to make sure that was acknowledged. ALSO: Apparently, its actually possible to win the Sniffit Mood quiz on the first try, but its random. "The first time you play the mini-game, the answer will change randomly between plays. Because the answer will not change between guesses, the best way to ensure a correct answer in the first round is to guess three different options. This will give you a 75% chance of landing the correct answer" (Source: Game8.co) ... Sooo, I guess the actual minimal required count is 1000 less than what I showed.
1:00 Also, just the amount of meta humor in this installment. One of my favorites is the Toad on the Toad Town fountain who REALLY likes water even though he's paper and weak to water. He says: "My therapist says I'm a contrarian, but I don't agree." Somehow I relate to him. 🙂
Your attack strength increases in health increments of 20. That's why sometimes you get an attack buff all at once and other times it takes a few hearts.
From what I checked, your attack power seems to go up by 1 for every 10 hp you obtain. I saw that you don’t get the message from Olivia if you’re hp doesn’t reach an incriminate of 10. My normal boots at the start of the game does 12 damage at max, but when I got the 20 Max Up Heart during the Earth Vellumental Temple, it started dealing 14 at max.
@Grane1234 Well maybe once you reach a certain hp threshold, it would only go up every 25, but the maximum amount of hp is 200 without the accessories, so there wouldn’t be much room for improvement.

This game is surprisingly mature and difficult at times, and left me genuinely emotional when I first played it, I wish we would get more of those kinds of games from Nintendo.
With some luck you can rescue Luigi in Shroom City without playing the game twice, you just don't have a 100% chance of "snickering sniff" being the correct answer
Hey, the koopa aren’t the ones scamming you in the earth temple… the toads are! The koopa are the ones getting exploited, because they worship the giant earth turtle
Didn't know that was possible. For most bosses you have to use the special attack, but I guess for one of the first bosses to make it easier you don't have to.
Didnt know that that little message at the end for no accessories was there. Only one Ive seen is for getting 100% and beating Olly again. Makes me wonder if there's any others somehow.
Remember that the plot of the story is literally just racism. A toad writes something on Olly. Olly says that “if you’ve seen one toad (race) you’ve seen them all. Olly is the definition of racism
Something I accidentally discovered about the Snifit's unwinnable minigame in Snif/Shroom City during my own playthrough: you can win by only paying the first 100 coins! You just gotta game over from the second part first. Doing that and picking the "try again" option will reset your coin counter back to what it was before you paid for the minigame, and makes the first round winnable. Now, if you count the money you had to spend to get a game over that's a bit of a problem for the "minimim costs" thing... so depends on how you'd count it I suppose.
9:06 Just saying, Rubber Band is actually female. She is heard singing shortly before the fight begins (it's her "grand" entrance) in what is CLEARLY a woman's voice, not really important I know just thought I'd let you know as a HUGE fan of this game.
@@superlagbro192 Well, I've heard of genders getting changed at times when projects go overseas sooooo...doesn't seem to be a thing in the american release.
I’m really confused on why Bobby had to die. Sure his arc was completed after the blue streamer but other Bob-ombs have blown up and survived before. Bombette and Bobbery legit have blowing up be their overworld action. Bobby getting the fuse could just upgrade his attack and let him damage multiple enemies like the other allies’ attacks. He could just stay in the Blue Streamer area, and follow Mario on the second trip across the sea to destroy the Purple Streamer, especially considering the purple area doesn’t have an ally (even in T’ Ode). He could just not follow Mario into the Sea Spire, like how he doesn’t go into the Water Vellumental shrine, justifying why he doesn’t go into Shangri-Spa, because Kamek functions as your Ally in this area.
Actually I think those two are considered to be a different type of bobomb that can blew up more than once. I think most of the black bobombs just die when they explode, like most of enemies we see. Or at least that is the running theory. It’s still weird but it’s there.
It's been a year and a few months, and the ending still infuriates me beyond belief. There was no need for a sacrifice, If she can wish for anything, she literally could have said the exact same wish, and added "except me", as there were no established wish rules against that. Also, she could just wish for all the harm Olly caused to be undone(or something along those lines). Which, not only would save more people (as her actual wish wouldn't brought back anyone killed by his abominations, it would just bring the abominations back to their original forms), but it would also keep Olivia alive. As such, I saw the ending more as a suicide than a sacrifice. Afterall, the game shows us that she knew exactly what she was doing. To add insult to injury, she didn't let Mario say goodbye to her, making her do to Mario what Bobby did to her. Bobby's sacrifice, while having some holes, could make sense, while Olivia's death is just the writers purposely misusing semantics. The first 99% of the game is one of my all time favorite games, while the last 1% is one of my least favorite games. I'm currently going back and collecting all the collectables, while essentially rewriting the ending in my head. Language is a beautiful thing that's full of nuance. If you want a wish be the thing that kills a character, you need to establish that there's no nuance allowed in that wish, and at that point, you're stretching the point of language for the sake of killing off a beloved character.
12:30 It is possible to save a few extra coins at the conman. Lose and actually get the game over the first time, then reset the scene. You will be back when he is requesting the original 100 coin price, but you can win it this time (He was making a sad face for me) saving you 900 coins.
I managed to complete the snippet minigame on the first try. Granted it was on the last turn but still. I just assume no matter what you would win. But oh boy once I saw that animation of you getting sucked into the lamp. I got very confused very quickly.
Next possible challenges: -How many HP will you have at least at the end of PMTOK? -How many Bottomless Holes do you have to repair? -How many battles do you have to enter/fight?
Ending Fixed: Hey guys remember the spas from earlier that have healing properties, well after defeating Olly, they could have healed him and for the 1000th crane, it could have been folded from regular paper and Olivia's wish could have been to unfold all of Olly's creations except herself.
Is it Possible to beat Paper Mario: The Origami King without collecting any EXP? Wait... Is it Possible to beat Paper Mario: The Origami King without having any unique partners? Wait... *Cries*
I actually got this game recently so I was looking at some walkthroughs, and when you are saving Luigi from the lamp, it is actually possible to win the game on the first try! You just need to be a bit lucky. This would lower the coin count by 1000 coins!
In blocks, you can find fire flowers, mushrooms, and other items. Toads can also hold life up hearts. Please try again with doing that. (Fire flowers also melt the ice vullemental.)
Mario is litterally the Origami Killer here. Killing the king, "restoring" origami creatures back to "normal", and killing anyone who DARES to stand in his way, regardless of age. Also Mario is saving the toads, that is pure evil.
far as i can tell, in terms of how you become stronger, it's an increase in power with every 20 HP; as for how much additional damage you do as a base, someone would need to willingly not get great lineups, and use the base weapons, to determine damage outputs at each tier
8:14 i think somebody in the speedrun comunity discovered (probably not when this video was uploaded lol) a way to clip thorught with that signal and ith the glitch get to the other side ticketless, so you can skip the door pretty neat ye
22:50 actually, it isn't random. You can see what you have to pick when you look at the hand of that boss. If you see f.e. him making a rock you have to pick rock.
If your curious in the 100% ending of Origami King. The Origami Craftsman folds Olivia back but not a alive Olivia and also folds back Olly (also not alive) but we saw Olly’s real paper fly off somewhere and also the “not alive” Olly and Olivia sit on their respective thrones

@@DPadGamer Dunno what to tell you or those walkthrough sites then man. I'd show ya if I could, and I'm sorry I can't, but I wouldn't have said anything if it weren't true. Beating the minigame without spending 1000 extra coins *is* possible.
I too got it without spending 1000 coins. My second guess was correct. You only had to pay 1000 coins after your first 3 guesses, right?
@@gamerwiigamer Yup that's correct. I personally got on my third guess in my playthrough. Honestly baffled I even got it THEN, cuz I'm not good at guessing things, but I guess they call it "*third* time's the charm" for a reason XD
Okay looking again, I found new info that wasnt there before.
"The first time you play the mini-game, the answer will change randomly between plays. It is possible to win on the first round; however, there currently doesn't seem to be any way of guaranteeing a win.
Because the answer will not change between guesses, the best way to ensure a correct answer in the first round is to guess three different options. This will give you a 75% chance of landing the correct answer" (Source: Game8.co)
This game is surprisingly mature and difficult at times, and left me genuinely emotional when I first played it, I wish we would get more of those kinds of games from Nintendo.
Local man feels emotions
Origami king is the only game that made me cry over paper twice
14:48 that’s no ordinary oscillating fan, that’s Sticker Star and Color Splash’s oscillating fan!
12:54
Me, who beat it on my first attempt: *ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?*
I was not expecting the scout to go bonk when the pokey got bonked on the head
With some luck you can rescue Luigi in Shroom City without playing the game twice, you just don't have a 100% chance of "snickering sniff" being the correct answer
27:45 mario has ultra instinct
What an excellently skilled run! Thanks for uploading! Neat way to show off this story, too!
12:52
When I did my playthrough, I got it on my first attempt? Maybe I was lucky.
Yeah same it is possible for sure
Same here
Hey, the koopa aren’t the ones scamming you in the earth temple… the toads are! The koopa are the ones getting exploited, because they worship the giant earth turtle
6:37 never throught of that and i finished the main story on the first week of the game
Didn't know that was possible. For most bosses you have to use the special attack, but I guess for one of the first bosses to make it easier you don't have to.
I also finished it in the first week (with NO help but a few spoilers)
Did peach just say at the start “I love getting kidnapped lol” play the start on 0.25 speed
3:00 its like balan wonderland all over again noooOOOOOO-
Didnt know that that little message at the end for no accessories was there. Only one Ive seen is for getting 100% and beating Olly again.
Makes me wonder if there's any others somehow.
Beat the whole game without getting a game over.
Remember that the plot of the story is literally just racism. A toad writes something on Olly. Olly says that “if you’ve seen one toad (race) you’ve seen them all. Olly is the definition of racism
Is no one going to mention that "shy guys finish last" 😳
Guess I'll always lose the race
its the sad truth of reality
The unwinnable game is actually winnable but it needs insane luck
12:54 Actually this mini game is possible in the first try.
Theres a youtuber called ZackScottGames who did it in his first try.
I didn’t know you could get the shell stone below 10,000 coins.....
Just realized that confetti, in Paper Mario, is kinda like chucking handfuls of flesh-chunks and body parts at someone
Wait, in the third stage of the trial of courage the arrow was at the top. You have to spend money to make the arrow go higher. Hmmmmmm.
Seeing Bobby die again brings me to tears
I wish you could've bought upgrade for the boot car, or buy different cars
Y
Yeah
The windwaker part is more phantom hourglass
I take that back it paper Mario the wind waker
9:06 Just saying, Rubber Band is actually female. She is heard singing shortly before the fight begins (it's her "grand" entrance) in what is CLEARLY a woman's voice, not really important I know just thought I'd let you know as a HUGE fan of this game.
Not only that, but scissors and stapler are female too.
@@superlagbro192 err...where exactly did you get THAT information?
@@GalaxyWisp I believe it's in the Spanish version.
@@superlagbro192 Well, I've heard of genders getting changed at times when projects go overseas sooooo...doesn't seem to be a thing in the american release.
Now that I think about it Stapler is basically a dog in the american release so that's pretty different right there as it is.
Bobby still hurts me to this day
Desert has been made by michael bay. Change my mind
10:30 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...😭
The bob-omb army says "Whenever one of us gets game over, another one is always there to take our place
12:57 You can actually win without paying, it's just random. Time to take down the video and do the while thing over again!
I managed to complete the snippet minigame on the first try.
Granted it was on the last turn but still.
I just assume no matter what you would win.
But oh boy once I saw that animation of you getting sucked into the lamp.
I got very confused very quickly.
What’s he gonna do with those leftover coins? Buy a stolen boomerang prototype from a shady dude?
You... I like you.
I see someone has been playing Bug Fables. great game and really has shown that the OG paper marios' love wasn't just nostalgia
So glad they referenced sticker star and color splash with the fan
Such underrated games
I legit thought you needed the "Wind Vellumental" to take care of the purple fog
I'm not mad at all
9:12
DUDE, the rubber band boss is a girl
ok so?
Next possible challenges:
-How many HP will you have at least at the end of PMTOK?
-How many Bottomless Holes do you have to repair?
-How many battles do you have to enter/fight?
70 is the minimum amount of health needed to beat the game, there's a required +20hp upgrade but all of the others are skippable
@@Rislear Oh, nice. ^^
Ending Fixed: Hey guys remember the spas from earlier that have healing properties, well after defeating Olly, they could have healed him and for the 1000th crane, it could have been folded from regular paper and Olivia's wish could have been to unfold all of Olly's creations except herself.

How dare you prey on my desire to find out what Origami King is more like?!
When I think of videogames and origami I always think of "Heavy Rain".
Mario is litterally the Origami Killer here. Killing the king, "restoring" origami creatures back to "normal", and killing anyone who DARES to stand in his way, regardless of age.
Also Mario is saving the toads, that is pure evil.
Wasn't tippi the last Mario death. Tippi is from super paper mario
When playing the game I like how Mario just hammers olly’s sword arms in the way it was presented and it was oddly satisfying to do so
10:23 dad: why tf are you crying so loud
far as i can tell, in terms of how you become stronger, it's an increase in power with every 20 HP; as for how much additional damage you do as a base, someone would need to willingly not get great lineups, and use the base weapons, to determine damage outputs at each tier
8:14 i think somebody in the speedrun comunity discovered (probably not when this video was uploaded lol) a way to clip thorught with that signal and ith the glitch get to the other side ticketless, so you can skip the door
pretty neat ye
22:50 actually, it isn't random. You can see what you have to pick when you look at the hand of that boss. If you see f.e. him making a rock you have to pick rock.
Paper Mario games then:find key in brushes
Paper mario games now:idk ask Luigi
If your curious in the 100% ending of Origami King. The Origami Craftsman folds Olivia back but not a alive Olivia and also folds back Olly (also not alive) but we saw Olly’s real paper fly off somewhere and also the “not alive” Olly and Olivia sit on their respective thrones
that shooting section had me fucked up man. i used to think bombombs arnt alive and are like toys or something. then i made friends with a bombbombs and i really liked him. a few hours later i was required to kill them by the dozens. that genuently hurt me
